Some faces, that Day, will be humiliated,
|
|
Some faces will on that Day be downcast,
|
|
Faces/fronts (on) that day (are) humble/submissive.

3. * |
Labouring (hard), weary,-
|
|
toiling [under burdens of sin], worn out [by fear],
|
|
Making/doing/working, fatigued/exhausted.

4. * |
The while they enter the Blazing Fire,-
|
|
about to enter a glowing fire,
|
|
It roasts/suffers a hot fire.
|

5. * |
The while they are given, to drink, of a boiling hot spring,
|
|
given to drink from a boiling spring.
|
|
Being given drink/being watered from (a) present/near water well/spring.
|

|
6. * |
No food will there be for them but a bitter Dhari'
|
|
No food for them save the bitterness of dry thorns,
|
|
Food/feeding is not for them except from Dareigh/gland (excretion).

Which will neither nourish nor satisfy hunger.
|
|
which gives no strength and neither stills hunger.*
|
|
(It) does not fatten (nourish), and nor enriches/suffices from starvation/hunger.

|
8. * |
(Other) faces that Day will be joyful,
|
|
[And] some faces will on that Day shine with bliss,
|
|
Faces/fronts (on) that day (are) comfortable and eased/happy/smooth.

9. * |
Pleased with their striving,-
|
|
well-pleased with [the fruit of] their striving,
|
|
Accepting/approving for its striving/endeavor.

|
10. * |
In a Garden on high,
|
|
in a garden sublime,
|
|
In an elevated/dignified treed garden/paradise.
|
|

|
|
11. * |
Where they shall hear no (word) of vanity:
|
|
wherein thou wilt hear no empty talk.
|
|
You do not hear/listen (to) nonsense/senseless talk in it.
|
|

|
|
12. * |
Therein will be a bubbling spring:
|
|
Countless springs* will flow therein,
|
|
In it (is a) flowing/running water well/spring.
|
|

13. * |
Therein will be Thrones (of dignity), raised on high,
|
|
[and] there will be thrones [of happiness] raised high,*
|
|
In it (are) raised royal beds/sofas.
|
|

14. * |
Goblets placed (ready),
|
|
and goblets placed ready,
|
|
And laid/raised cups.
|
|

|
|
15. * |
And cushions set in rows,
|
|
and cushions ranged,
|
|
And lined/arranged small pillows/cushions.
|
|

|
16. * |
And rich carpets (all) spread out.
|
|
and carpets spread out...
|
|
And scattered/distributed carpets/rugs.
|
|

|
17. * |
Do they not look at the Camels, how they are made?-
|
|
DO, THEN, they [who deny resurrection] never gaze at the clouds pregnant with water, [and observe] how they are created?*
|
|
Do they not look/wonder about to the camels how it was created?

And at the Sky, how it is raised high?-
|
|
And at the sky, how it is raised aloft?
|
|
And to the sky/space how it was raised?
|
|

19. * |
And at the Mountains, how they are fixed firm?-
|
|
And at the mountains, how firmly they are reared?
|
|
And to the mountains how it was erected and raised/affixed?
|
|

|
|
20. * |
And at the Earth, how it is spread out?
|
|
And at the earth, how it is spread out?
|
|
And to the earth/Planet Earth how it was outspread/surfaced ?
|
|

|
|
21. * |
Therefore do thou give admonition, for thou art one to admonish.
|
|
And so, [O Prophet,] exhort them; thy task is only to exhort:
|
|
So remind, truly you are a reminder.
|
|
fXkr anma ant mXkr
|
|
22. * |
Thou art not one to manage (men's) affairs.
|
|
thou canst not compel them [to believe].*
|
|
You are not on them with dominating/controlling.
|
|

|
23. * |
But if any turn away and reject Allah,-
|
|
However, as for him who turns away, being bent on denying the truth,
|
|
Except who turned away and disbelieved.
|
|

|
|
24. * |
Allah will punish him with a mighty Punishment,
|
|
him will God cause to suffer the greatest suffering [in the life to come]:
|
|
So God tortures him the torture, the greatest.
|
|

|
|
25. * |
For to Us will be their return;
|
|
for behold, unto Us will be their return,
|
|
That truly to Us (is) their return.
|
|

Then it will be for Us to call them to account.
|
|
and verily, It is for Us to call them to account.
|
|
Then that truly on Us (is) their account/calculation.
