אשרי־האיש אשר לא הלך בעצת רשעים ובדרך חטאים לא עמד ובמושב לצים לא ישב׃ |
Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. | Blessed is the man who doesn't walk in the counsel of the wicked, nor stand in the way of sinners, nor sit in the seat of scoffers; | Happy is the man who does not go in the company of sinners, or take his place in the way of evil-doers, or in the seat of those who do not give honour to the Lord. | |||

כי אם בתורת יהוה חפצו ובתורתו יהגה יומם ולילה׃ |

לא־כן הרשעים כי אם־כמץ אשר־תדפנו רוח׃ |
The ungodly are not so: but are like the chaff which the wind driveth away. | The wicked are not so, but are like the chaff which the wind drives away. | The evil-doers are not so; but are like the dust from the grain, which the wind takes away. | |||

על־כן לא־יקמו רשעים במשפט וחטאים בעדת צדיקים׃ |
Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous. | Therefore the wicked shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous. | For this cause there will be no mercy for sinners when they are judged, and the evil-doers will have no place among the upright, | |||

כי־יודע יהוה דרך צדיקים ודרך רשעים תאבד׃ |
For the LORD knoweth the way of the righteous: but the way of the ungodly shall perish. | For Yahweh knows the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked shall perish. | Because the Lord sees the way of the upright, but the end of the sinner is destruction. | |||
