O my soul, thou hast said unto the LORD, Thou art my Lord: my goodness extendeth not to thee;     My soul, you have said to Yahweh, "You are my Lord. Apart from you I have no good thing."     O my soul, you have said to the Lord, You are my Lord: I have no good but you.

But to the saints that are in the earth, and to the excellent, in whom is all my delight.     As for the saints who are in the earth, they are the excellent ones in whom is all my delight.     As for the saints who are in the earth, they are the noble in whom is all my delight.

Their sorrows shall be multiplied that hasten after another god: their drink offerings of blood will I not offer, nor take up their names into my lips.     Their sorrows shall be multiplied who give gifts to another god. Their drink offerings of blood I will not offer, nor take their names on my lips.     Their sorrows will be increased who go after another god: I will not take drink offerings from their hands, or take their names on my lips.

The LORD is the portion of mine inheritance and of my cup: thou maintainest my lot.     Yahweh assigned my portion and my cup. You made my lot secure.     The Lord is my heritage and the wine of my cup; you are the supporter of my right.

The lines are fallen unto me in pleasant places; yea, I have a goodly heritage.     The lines have fallen to me in pleasant places. Yes, I have a good inheritance.     Fair are the places marked out for me; I have a noble heritage.

I will bless the LORD, who hath given me counsel: my reins also instruct me in the night seasons.     I will bless Yahweh, who has given me counsel. Yes, my heart instructs me in the night seasons.     I will give praise to the Lord who has been my guide; knowledge comes to me from my thoughts in the night.

I have set the LORD always before me: because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved.     I have set Yahweh always before me. Because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved.     I have put the Lord before me at all times; because he is at my right hand, I will not be moved.

Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoiceth: my flesh also shall rest in hope.     Therefore my heart is glad, and my tongue rejoices. My body shall also dwell in safety.     Because of this my heart is glad, and my glory is full of joy: while my flesh takes its rest in hope.

For thou wilt not leave my soul in hell; neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption.     For you will not leave my soul in Sheol{Sheol is the place of the dead.}, neither will you allow your holy one to see corruption.     For you will not let my soul be prisoned in the underworld; you will not let your loved one see the place of death.

Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.     You will show me the path of life. In your presence is fullness of joy. In your right hand there are pleasures forevermore.     You will make clear to me the way of life; where you are joy is complete; in your right hand there are pleasures for ever and ever.
