1.    תפלה  לדוד 
הטה־יהוה  אזנך
ענני  כי־עני
ואביון  אני׃
    Bow down thine ear, O LORD, hear me: for I am poor and needy.     {A Prayer by David.} Hear, Yahweh, and answer me, for I am poor and needy.     A Prayer. Of David.
Let your ears be open to my voice, O Lord, and give me an answer; for I am poor and in need.
 
2.    שמרה  נפשי  כי־חסיד 
אני  הושע  עבדך  אתה
אלהי  הבוטח  אליך׃
    Preserve my soul; for I am holy: O thou my God, save thy servant that trusteth in thee.     Preserve my soul, for I am godly. You, my God, save your servant who trusts in you.     Keep my soul, for I am true to you; O my God, give salvation to your servant, whose hope is in you.
 
3.    חנני  אדני  כי  אליך 
אקרא  כל־היום׃
    Be merciful unto me, O Lord: for I cry unto thee daily.     Be merciful to me, Lord, for I call to you all day long.     Have mercy on me, O Lord; for my cry goes up to you all the day.
 
4.    שמח  נפש  עבדך  כי 
אליך  אדני  נפשי
אשא׃
    Rejoice the soul of thy servant: for unto thee, O Lord, do I lift up my soul.     Bring joy to the soul of your servant, for to you, Lord, do I lift up my soul.     Make glad the soul of your servant; for it is lifted up to you, O Lord.
 
5.    כי־אתה  אדני  טוב 
וסלח  ורב־חסד
לכל־קראיך׃
    For thou, Lord, art good, and ready to forgive; and plenteous in mercy unto all them that call upon thee.     For you, Lord, are good, and ready to forgive; abundant in loving kindness to all those who call on you.     You are good, O Lord, and full of forgiveness; your mercy is great to all who make their cry to you.
 
6.    האזינה  יהוה  תפלתי 
והקשיבה  בקול
תחנונותי׃
    Give ear, O LORD, unto my prayer; and attend to the voice of my supplications.     Hear, Yahweh, my prayer. Listen to the voice of my petitions.     O Lord, give ear to my prayer; and take note of the sound of my requests.
 
7.    ביום  צרתי  אקראך 
כי  תענני׃
    In the day of my trouble I will call upon thee: for thou wilt answer me.     In the day of my trouble I will call on you, for you will answer me.     In the day of my trouble I send up my cry to you; for you will give me an answer.
 
8.    אין־כמוך  באלהים 
אדני  ואין  כמעשיך׃
    Among the gods there is none like unto thee, O Lord; neither are there any works like unto thy works.     There is no one like you among the gods, Lord, nor any deeds like your deeds.     There is no god like you, O Lord; there are no works like your works.
 
9.    כל־גוים  אשר  עשית 
יבואו  וישתחוו
לפניך  אדני  ויכבדו
לשמך׃
    All nations whom thou hast made shall come and worship before thee, O Lord; and shall glorify thy name.     All nations you have made will come and worship before you, Lord. They shall glorify your name.     Let all the nations whom you have made come and give worship to you, O Lord, giving glory to your name.
 
10.    כי־גדול  אתה  ועשה 
נפלאות  אתה  אלהים
לבדך׃
    For thou art great, and doest wondrous things: thou art God alone.     For you are great, and do wondrous things. You are God alone.     For you are great, and do great works of wonder; you only are God.
 
11.    הורני  יהוה  דרכך 
אהלך  באמתך  יחד
לבבי  ליראה  שמך׃
    Teach me thy way, O LORD; I will walk in thy truth: unite my heart to fear thy name.     Teach me your way, Yahweh. I will walk in your truth. Make my heart undivided to fear your name.     Make your way clear to me, O Lord; I will go on my way in your faith: let my heart be glad in the fear of your name.
 
12.    אודך  אדני  אלהי 
בכל־לבבי  ואכבדה
שמך  לעולם׃
    I will praise thee, O Lord my God, with all my heart: and I will glorify thy name for evermore.     I will praise you, Lord my God, with my whole heart. I will glorify your name forevermore.     I will give you praise, O Lord my God, with all my heart; I will give glory to your name for ever.
 
13.    כי־חסדך  גדול  עלי 
והצלת  נפשי  משאול
תחתיה׃
    For great is thy mercy toward me: and thou hast delivered my soul from the lowest hell.     For your loving kindness is great toward me. You have delivered my soul from the lowest Sheol{Sheol is the place of the dead.}.     For your mercy to me is great; you have taken my soul up from the deep places of the underworld.
 
14.    אלהים  זדים 
קמו־עלי  ועדת
עריצים  בקשו  נפשי
ולא  שמוך  לנגדם׃
    O God, the proud are risen against me, and the assemblies of violent men have sought after my soul; and have not set thee before them.     God, the proud have risen up against me. A company of violent men have sought after my soul, and they don't hold regard for you before them.     O God, men of pride have come up against me, and the army of violent men would take my life; they have not put you before them.
 
15.    ואתה  אדני  אל־רחום 
וחנון  ארך  אפים
ורב־חסד  ואמת׃
    But thou, O Lord, art a God full of compassion, and gracious, long suffering, and plenteous in mercy and truth.     But you, Lord, are a merciful and gracious God, slow to anger, and abundant in loving kindness and truth.     But you, O Lord, are a God full of pity and forgiveness, slow to get angry, great in mercy and wisdom.
 
16.    פנה  אלי  וחנני 
תנה־עזך  לעבדך
והושיעה  לבן־אמתך׃
    O turn unto me, and have mercy upon me; give thy strength unto thy servant, and save the son of thine handmaid.     Turn to me, and have mercy on me! Give your strength to your servant. Save the son of your handmaid.     O be turned to me and have mercy on me: give your strength to your servant, and your salvation to the son of her who is your servant.
 
17.    עשה־עמי  אות  לטובה 
ויראו  שנאי  ויבשו
כי־אתה  יהוה
עזרתני  ונחמתני׃
    Shew me a token for good; that they which hate me may see it, and be ashamed: because thou, LORD, hast holpen me, and comforted me.     Show me a sign of your goodness, that those who hate me may see it, and be shamed, because you, Yahweh, have helped me, and comforted me.     Give me a sign for good; so that my haters may see it and be shamed; because you, Lord, have been my help and comfort.
