יהוה אלהי אתה ארוממך אודה שמך כי עשית פלא עצות מרחוק אמונה אמן׃ |
O Lord, thou art my God; I will exalt thee, I will praise thy name; for thou hast done wonderful things; thy counsels of old are faithfulness and truth. | Yahweh, you are my God. I will exalt you! כי שמת מעיר לגל קריה בצורה למפלה ארמון זרים מעיר לעולם לא יבנה׃ |
For thou hast made of a city an heap; of a defenced city a ruin: a palace of strangers to be no city; it shall never be built. | For you have made a city into a heap, a fortified city into a ruin, a palace of strangers to be no city. It will never be built. | For you have made a town a waste place: a strong town a mass of broken walls; the tower of the men of pride has come to an end; it will never be put up again. | |||

על־כן יכבדוך עם־עז קרית גוים עריצים ייראוך׃ |
Therefore shall the strong people glorify thee, the city of the terrible nations shall fear thee. | Therefore a strong people will glorify you. A city of awesome nations will fear you. | For this cause will the strong people give glory to you, the town of the cruel ones will be in fear of you. | |||

כי־היית מעוז לדל מעוז לאביון בצר־לו מחסה מזרם צל מחרב כי רוח עריצים כזרם קיר׃ |
For thou hast been a strength to the poor, a strength to the needy in his distress, a refuge from the storm, a shadow from the heat, when the blast of the terrible ones is as a storm against the wall. | For you have been a stronghold to the poor, a stronghold to the needy in his distress, a refuge from the storm, a shade from the heat, when the blast of the dreaded ones is like a storm against the wall. | For you have been a strong place for the poor and the crushed in their trouble, a safe place from the storm, a shade from the heat, when the wrath of the cruel ones is like a winter storm. | |||

כחרב בציון שאון זרים תכניע חרב בצל עב זמיר עריצים יענה׃ |
Thou shalt bring down the noise of strangers, as the heat in a dry place; even the heat with the shadow of a cloud: the branch of the terrible ones shall be brought low. | As the heat in a dry place will you bring down the noise of strangers; as the heat by the shade of a cloud, the song of the dreaded ones will be brought low. | As heat by the shade of a cloud, the noise of the men of pride has been made quiet by you; as heat by the shade of a cloud, the song of the cruel ones has been stopped. | |||

ועשה יהוה צבאות לכל־העמים בהר הזה משתה שמנים משתה שמרים שמנים ממחים שמרים מזקקים׃ |
And in this mountain shall the LORD of hosts make unto all people a feast of fat things, a feast of wines on the lees, of fat things full of marrow, of wines on the lees well refined. | In this mountain, Yahweh of Armies will make all peoples a feast of fat things, a feast of choice wines, of fat things full of marrow, of well refined choice wines. | And in this mountain will the Lord of armies make for all peoples a feast of good things, a feast of wines long stored, of good things sweet to the taste, of wines long kept and tested. | |||

ובלע בהר הזה פני־הלוט הלוט על־כל־העמים והמסכה הנסוכה על־כל־ הגוים׃ |
And he will destroy in this mountain the face of the covering cast over all people, and the vail that is spread over all nations. | He will destroy in this mountain the surface of the covering that covers all peoples, and the veil that is spread over all nations. | And in this mountain he will put an end to the shade covering the face of all peoples, and the veil which is stretched over all nations. | |||

בלע המות לנצח ומחה אדני יהוה דמעה מעל כל־פנים וחרפת עמו יסיר מעל כל־הארץ כי יהוה דבר׃ |
He will swallow up death in victory; and the Lord GOD will wipe away tears from off all faces; and the rebuke of his people shall he take away from off all the earth: for the LORD hath spoken it. | He has swallowed up death forever! The Lord Yahweh will wipe away tears from off all faces. He will take the reproach of his people away from off all the earth, for Yahweh has spoken it. | He has put an end to death for ever; and the Lord God will take away all weeping; and he will put an end to the shame of his people in all the earth: for the Lord has said it. | |||

ואמר ביום ההוא הנה אלהינו זה קוינו לו ויושיענו זה יהוה קוינו לו נגילה ונשמחה בישועתו׃ |
And it shall be said in that day, Lo, this is our God; we have waited for him, and he will save us: this is the LORD; we have waited for him, we will be glad and rejoice in his salvation. | It shall be said in that day, "Behold, this is our God! We have waited for him, and he will save us! This is Yahweh! We have waited for him. We will be glad and rejoice in his salvation!" | And in that day it will be said, See, this is our God; we have been waiting for him, and he will be our saviour: this is the Lord in whom is our hope; we will be glad and have delight in his salvation. | |||

כי־תנוח יד־יהוה בהר הזה ונדוש מואב תחתיו כהדוש מתבן במי מדמנה׃ |
For in this mountain shall the hand of the LORD rest, and Moab shall be trodden down under him, even as straw is trodden down for the dunghill. | For in this mountain the hand of Yahweh will rest. Moab will be trodden down in his place, even like straw is trodden down in the water of the dunghill. | For in this mountain will the hand of the Lord come to rest, and Moab will be crushed down in his place, even as the dry stems of the grain are crushed under foot in the waste place. | |||

ופרש ידיו בקרבו כאשר יפרש השחה לשחות והשפיל גאותו עם ארבות ידיו׃ |
And he shall spread forth his hands in the midst of them, as he that swimmeth spreadeth forth his hands to swim: and he shall bring down their pride together with the spoils of their hands. | He will spread out his hands in its midst, like one who swims spreads out hands to swim, but his pride will be humbled together with the craft of his hands. | And if he puts out his hands, like a man stretching out his hands in swimming, the Lord will make low his pride, however expert his designs. | |||

ומבצר משגב חומתיך השח השפיל הגיע לארץ עד־עפר׃ |
And the fortress of the high fort of thy walls shall he bring down, lay low, and bring to the ground, even to the dust. | He has brought the high fortress of your walls down, laid low, and brought to the ground, even to the dust. | And the strong tower of your walls has been broken by him, made low, and crushed even to the dust. | |||
