ויהי בשנה ההיא בראשית ממלכת צדקיה מלך־יהודה בשנת הרבעית בחדש החמישי אמר אלי חנניה בן־עזור הנביא אשר מגבעון בבית יהוה לעיני הכהנים וכל־העם לאמר׃ |
And it came to pass the same year, in the beginning of the reign of Zedekiah king of Judah, in the fourth year, and in the fifth month, that Hananiah the son of Azur the prophet, which was of Gibeon, spake unto me in the house of the LORD, in the presence of the priests and of all the people, saying, | It happened the same year, in the beginning of the reign of Zedekiah king of Judah, in the fourth year, in the fifth month, that Hananiah the son of Azzur, the prophet, who was of Gibeon, spoke to me in the house of Yahweh, in the presence of the priests and of all the people, saying, | And it came about in that year, when Zedekiah first became king of Judah, in the fourth year, in the fifth month, that Hananiah, the son of Azzur the prophet, who came from Gibeon, said to Jeremiah in the house of the Lord, before the priests and all the people, | |||

כה־אמר יהוה צבאות אלהי ישראל לאמר שברתי את־על מלך בבל׃ |
Thus speaketh the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, saying, I have broken the yoke of the king of Babylon. | Thus speaks Yahweh of Armies, the God of Israel, saying, I have broken the yoke of the king of Babylon. | These are the words of the Lord of armies, the God of Israel: By me the yoke of the king of Babylon has been broken. | |||

בעוד שנתים ימים אני משיב אל־המקום הזה את־כל־כלי בית יהוה אשר לקח נבוכדנאצר מלך־בבל מן־המקום הזה ויביאם בבל׃ |
Within two full years will I bring again into this place all the vessels of the LORD's house, that Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon took away from this place, and carried them to Babylon: | Within two full years will I bring again into this place all the vessels of Yahweh's house, that Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon took away from this place, and carried to Babylon: | In the space of two years I will send back into this place all the vessels of the Lord's house which Nebuchadnezzar, king of Babylon, took away from this place to Babylon: | |||

ואת־יכניה בן־יהויקים מלך־יהודה ואת־כל־גלות יהודה הבאים בבלה אני משיב אל־המקום הזה נאם־יהוה כי אשבר את־על מלך בבל׃ |
And I will bring again to this place Jeconiah the son of Jehoiakim king of Judah, with all the captives of Judah, that went into Babylon, saith the LORD: for I will break the yoke of the king of Babylon. | and I will bring again to this place Jeconiah the son of Jehoiakim, king of Judah, with all the captives of Judah, who went to Babylon, says Yahweh; for I will break the yoke of the king of Babylon. | And I will let Jeconiah, the son of Jehoiakim, king of Judah, come back to this place, with all the prisoners of Judah who went to Babylon, says the Lord: for I will have the yoke of the king of Babylon broken. | |||

ויאמר ירמיה הנביא אל־חנניה הנביא לעיני הכהנים ולעיני כל־העם העמדים בבית יהוה׃ |
Then the prophet Jeremiah said unto the prophet Hananiah in the presence of the priests, and in the presence of all the people that stood in the house of the LORD, | Then the prophet Jeremiah said to the prophet Hananiah in the presence of the priests, and in the presence of all the people who stood in the house of Yahweh, | Then the prophet Jeremiah said to the prophet Hananiah, before the priests and all the people who had come into the house of the Lord, | |||

ויאמר ירמיה הנביא אמן כן יעשה יהוה יקם יהוה את־דבריך אשר נבאת להשיב כלי בית־יהוה וכל־הגולה מבבל אל־המקום הזה׃ |
Even the prophet Jeremiah said, Amen: the LORD do so: the LORD perform thy words which thou hast prophesied, to bring again the vessels of the LORD's house, and all that is carried away captive, from Babylon into this place. | even the prophet Jeremiah said, Amen: Yahweh do so; Yahweh perform your words which you have prophesied, to bring again the vessels of Yahweh's house, and all them of the captivity, from Babylon to this place. | The prophet Jeremiah said, So be it: may the Lord do so: may the Lord give effect to the words which you have said, and let the vessels of the Lord's house, and all the people who have been taken away, come back from Babylon to this place. | |||

אך־שמע־נא הדבר הזה אשר אנכי דבר באזניך ובאזני כל־העם׃ |
Nevertheless hear thou now this word that I speak in thine ears, and in the ears of all the people; | Nevertheless hear you now this word that I speak in your ears, and in the ears of all the people: | But still, give ear to this word which I am saying to you and to all the people: | |||

הנביאים אשר היו לפני ולפניך מן־העולם וינבאו אל־ארצות רבות ועל־ ממלכות גדלות למלחמה ולרעה ולדבר׃ |
The prophets that have been before me and before thee of old prophesied both against many countries, and against great kingdoms, of war, and of evil, and of pestilence. | The prophets who have been before me and before you of old prophesied against many countries, and against great kingdoms, of war, and of evil, and of pestilence. | The prophets, who were before me and before you, from early times gave word to a number of countries and great kingdoms about war and destruction and disease. | |||

הנביא אשר ינבא לשלום בבא דבר הנביא יודע הנביא אשר־שלחו יהוה באמת׃ |
The prophet which prophesieth of peace, when the word of the prophet shall come to pass, then shall the prophet be known, that the LORD hath truly sent him. | The prophet who prophesies of peace, when the word of the prophet shall happen, then shall the prophet be known, that Yahweh has truly sent him. | The prophet whose words are of peace, when his words come true, will be seen to be a prophet whom the Lord has sent. | |||

ויקח חנניה הנביא את־המוטה מעל צואר ירמיה הנביא וישברהו׃ |
Then Hananiah the prophet took the yoke from off the prophet Jeremiah's neck, and brake it. | Then Hananiah the prophet took the bar from off the prophet Jeremiah's neck, and broke it. | Then Hananiah the prophet took the yoke from the neck of the prophet Jeremiah and it was broken by his hands. | |||

ויאמר חנניה לעיני כל־העם לאמר כה אמר יהוה ככה אשבר את־על נבכדנאצר מלך־בבל בעוד שנתים ימים מעל־צואר כל־הגוים וילך ירמיה הנביא לדרכו׃ |
And Hananiah spake in the presence of all the people, saying, Thus saith the LORD; Even so will I break the yoke of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon from the neck of all nations within the space of two full years. And the prophet Jeremiah went his way. | Hananiah spoke in the presence of all the people, saying, Thus says Yahweh: Even so will I break the yoke of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon within two full years from off the neck of all the nations. The prophet Jeremiah went his way. | And before all the people Hananiah said, The Lord has said, Even so will I let the yoke of the king of Babylon be broken off the necks of all the nations in the space of two years. ויהי דבר־יהוה אל־ירמיה אחרי שבור חנניה הנביא את־המוטה מעל צואר ירמיה הנביא לאמר׃ |
Then the word of the LORD came unto Jeremiah the prophet, after that Hananiah the prophet had broken the yoke from off the neck of the prophet Jeremiah, saying, | Then the word of Yahweh came to Jeremiah, after that Hananiah the prophet had broken the bar from off the neck of the prophet Jeremiah, saying, | Then after the yoke had been broken off the neck of the prophet Jeremiah by Hananiah the prophet, the word of the Lord came to Jeremiah, saying, | |||

הלוך ואמרת אל־חנניה לאמר כה אמר יהוה מוטת עץ שברת ועשית תחתיהן מטות ברזל׃ |
Go and tell Hananiah, saying, Thus saith the LORD; Thou hast broken the yokes of wood; but thou shalt make for them yokes of iron. | Go, and tell Hananiah, saying, Thus says Yahweh: You have broken the bars of wood; but you have made in their place bars of iron. | Go and say to Hananiah, This is what the Lord has said: Yokes of wood have been broken by you, but in their place I will make yokes of iron. | |||

כי כה־אמר יהוה צבאות אלהי ישראל על ברזל נתתי על־צואר כל־ הגוים האלה לעבד את־נבכדנאצר מלך־בבל ועבדהו וגם את־חית השדה נתתי לו׃ |
For thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; I have put a yoke of iron upon the neck of all these nations, that they may serve Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon; and they shall serve him: and I have given him the beasts of the field also. | For thus says Yahweh of Armies, the God of Israel: I have put a yoke of iron on the neck of all these nations, that they may serve Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon; and they shall serve him: and I have given him the animals of the field also. | For the Lord of armies, the God of Israel, has said: I have put a yoke of iron on the necks of all these nations, making them servants to Nebuchadnezzar, king of Babylon; and they are to be his servants: and in addition I have given him the beasts of the field. | |||

ויאמר ירמיה הנביא אל־חנניה הנביא שמע־נא חנניה לא־שלחך יהוה ואתה הבטחת את־העם הזה על־שקר׃ |
Then said the prophet Jeremiah unto Hananiah the prophet, Hear now, Hananiah; The LORD hath not sent thee; but thou makest this people to trust in a lie. | Then said the prophet Jeremiah to Hananiah the prophet, Hear now, Hananiah: Yahweh has not sent you; but you make this people to trust in a lie. | Then the prophet Jeremiah said to Hananiah the prophet, Give ear, now, Hananiah; the Lord has not sent you; but you are making this people put their faith in what is false. | |||

לכן כה אמר יהוה הנני משלחך מעל פני האדמה השנה אתה מת כי־סרה דברת אל־יהוה׃ |
Therefore thus saith the LORD; Behold, I will cast thee from off the face of the earth: this year thou shalt die, because thou hast taught rebellion against the LORD. | Therefore thus says Yahweh, Behold, I will send you away from off the surface of the earth: this year you shall die, because you have spoken rebellion against Yahweh. | For this reason the Lord has said, See, I will send you away from off the face of the earth: this year death will overtake you, because you have said words against the Lord. | |||

וימת חנניה הנביא בשנה ההיא בחדש השביעי׃ |
So Hananiah the prophet died the same year in the seventh month. | So Hananiah the prophet died the same year in the seventh month. | So death came to Hananiah the prophet the same year, in the seventh month. | |||
