He said to me, "To measure Jerusalem, to see what is its breadth and what is its length." | And I said to him, Where are you going? And he said to me, To take the measure of Jerusalem, to see how wide and how long it is. | |||

ויאמר אלו רץ דבר אל־הנער הלז לאמר פרזות תשב ירושלם מרב אדם ובהמה בתוכה׃ |
And said unto him, Run, speak to this young man, saying, Jerusalem shall be inhabited as towns without walls for the multitude of men and cattle therein: | and said to him, "Run, speak to this young man, saying, 'Jerusalem will be inhabited as villages without walls, because of the multitude of men and livestock in it. | Said to him, Go quickly and say to this young man, Jerusalem will be an unwalled town, because of the great number of men and cattle in her. | |||

ואני אהיה־לה נאם־יהוה חומת אש סביב ולכבוד אהיה בתוכה׃ |
For I, saith the LORD, will be unto her a wall of fire round about, and will be the glory in the midst of her. | For I,' says Yahweh, 'will be to her a wall of fire around it, and I will be the glory in the midst of her. | For I, says the Lord, will be a wall of fire round about her, and I will be the glory inside her. | |||

הוי הוי ונסו מארץ צפון נאם־יהוה כי כארבע רוחות השמים פרשתי אתכם נאם־יהוה׃ |
Ho, ho, come forth, and flee from the land of the north, saith the LORD: for I have spread you abroad as the four winds of the heaven, saith the LORD. | Come! Come! הוי ציון המלטי יושבת בת־בבל׃ |

כי כה אמר יהוה צבאות אחר כבוד שלחני אל־הגוים השללים אתכם כי הנגע בכם נגע בבבת עינו׃ |
For thus saith the LORD of hosts; After the glory hath he sent me unto the nations which spoiled you: for he that toucheth you toucheth the apple of his eye. | For thus says Yahweh of Armies: 'For honor he has sent me to the nations which plundered you; for he who touches you touches the apple of his eye. | For this is what the Lord of armies has said: In the way of glory he has sent me to the nations which have taken your goods: for anyone touching you is touching what is most dear to him. | |||

כי הנני מניף את־ידי עליהם והיו שלל לעבדיהם וידעתם כי־יהוה צבאות שלחני׃ |
For, behold, I will shake mine hand upon them, and they shall be a spoil to their servants: and ye shall know that the LORD of hosts hath sent me. | For, behold, I will shake my hand over them, and they will be a spoil to those who served them; and you will know that Yahweh of Armies has sent me. | For at the shaking of my hand over them, their goods will be taken by those who were their servants: and you will see that the Lord of armies has sent me. | |||

רני ושמחי בת־ציון כי הנני־בא ושכנתי בתוכך נאם־יהוה׃ |
Sing and rejoice, O daughter of Zion: for, lo, I come, and I will dwell in the midst of thee, saith the LORD. | Sing and rejoice, daughter of Zion; for, behold, I come, and I will dwell in the midst of you,' says Yahweh. | Give songs of joy, O daughter of Zion: for I come, and I will make my resting-place among you, says the Lord. | |||

ונלוו גוים רבים אל־יהוה ביום ההוא והיו לי לעם ושכנתי בתוכך וידעת כי־יהוה צבאות שלחני אליך׃ |
And many nations shall be joined to the LORD in that day, and shall be my people: and I will dwell in the midst of thee, and thou shalt know that the LORD of hosts hath sent me unto thee. | Many nations shall join themselves to Yahweh in that day, and shall be my people; and I will dwell in the midst of you, and you shall know that Yahweh of Armies has sent me to you. | And a number of nations will be joined to the Lord in that day, and will become my people; and I will be living among you, and you will see that the Lord of armies has sent me to you. | |||

ונחל יהוה את־יהודה חלקו על אדמת הקדש ובחר עוד בירושלם׃ |
And the LORD shall inherit Judah his portion in the holy land, and shall choose Jerusalem again. | Yahweh will inherit Judah as his portion in the holy land, and will again choose Jerusalem. | And Judah will be the Lord's heritage in the holy land, and Jerusalem will again be his. | |||

הס כל־בשר מפני יהוה כי נעור ממעון קדשו׃ |
Be silent, O all flesh, before the LORD: for he is raised up out of his holy habitation. | Be silent, all flesh, before Yahweh; for he has roused himself from his holy habitation!" | Let all flesh be quiet and make no sound before the Lord: for he is awake and has come from his holy resting-place. | |||
