משא דבר־יהוה בארץ חדרך ודמשק מנחתו כי ליהוה עין אדם וכל שבטי ישראל׃ |
The burden of the word of the LORD in the land of Hadrach, and Damascus shall be the rest thereof: when the eyes of man, as of all the tribes of Israel, shall be toward the LORD. | An oracle. וגם־חמת תגבל־בה צר וצידון כי חכמה מאד׃ |
And Hamath also shall border thereby; Tyrus, and Zidon, though it be very wise. | and Hamath, also, which borders on it; Tyre and Sidon, because they are very wise. | As well as Hamath, which is by its limit, and Tyre and Zidon, because they are very wise. | |||

ותבן צר מצור לה ותצבר־כסף כעפר וחרוץ כטיט חוצות׃ |

תרא אשקלון ותירא ועזה ותחיל מאד ועקרון כי־הביש מבטה ואבד מלך מעזה ואשקלון לא תשב׃ |
Ashkelon shall see it, and fear; Gaza also shall see it, and be very sorrowful, and Ekron; for her expectation shall be ashamed; and the king shall perish from Gaza, and Ashkelon shall not be inhabited. | Ashkelon will see it, and fear; Gaza also, and will writhe in agony; as will Ekron, for her expectation will be disappointed; and the king will perish from Gaza, and Ashkelon will not be inhabited. | Ashkelon will see it with fear, and Gaza, bent with pain; and Ekron, for her hope will be shamed: and the king will be cut off from Gaza, and Ashkelon will be unpeopled. | |||

וישב ממזר באשדוד והכרתי גאון פלשתים׃ |

והסרתי דמיו מפיו ושקציו מבין שניו ונשאר גם־הוא לאלהינו והיה כאלף ביהודה ועקרון כיבוסי׃ |
And I will take away his blood out of his mouth, and his abominations from between his teeth: but he that remaineth, even he, shall be for our God, and he shall be as a governor in Judah, and Ekron as a Jebusite. | I will take away his blood out of his mouth, and his abominations from between his teeth; and he also will be a remnant for our God; and he will be as a chieftain in Judah, and Ekron as a Jebusite. | And I will take away his blood from his mouth, and his disgusting things from between his teeth; and some of his people will be kept for our God: and he will be as a family in Judah, and Ekron as one living in Jerusalem. | |||

וחניתי לביתי מצבה מעבר ומשב ולא־יעבר עליהם עוד נגש כי עתה ראיתי בעיני׃ |
And I will encamp about mine house because of the army, because of him that passeth by, and because of him that returneth: and no oppressor shall pass through them any more: for now have I seen with mine eyes. | I will encamp around my house against the army, that none pass through or return; and no oppressor will pass through them any more: for now I have seen with my eyes. | And I will put my forces in position round my house, so that there may be no coming and going: and no cruel master will again go through them: for now I have seen his trouble. | |||

גילי מאד בת־ציון הריעי בת ירושלם הנה מלכך יבוא לך צדיק ונושע הוא עני ורכב על־חמור ועל־עיר בן־אתנות׃ |
Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion; shout, O daughter of Jerusalem: behold, thy King cometh unto thee: he is just, and having salvation; lowly, and riding upon an ass, and upon a colt the foal of an ass. | Rejoice greatly, daughter of Zion! Shout, daughter of Jerusalem! Behold, your King comes to you! He is righteous, and having salvation; lowly, and riding on a donkey, even on a colt, the foal of a donkey. | Be full of joy, O daughter of Zion; give a glad cry, O daughter of Jerusalem: see, your king comes to you: he is upright and has overcome; gentle and seated on an ass, on a young ass. | |||

As for thee also, by the blood of thy covenant I have sent forth thy prisoners out of the pit wherein is no water. | As for you also, because of the blood of your covenant, I have set free your prisoners from the pit in which is no water. | And as for you, because of the blood of your agreement, I have sent out your prisoners from the deep hole in which there is no water. | |||

שובו לבצרון אסירי התקוה גם־היום מגיד משנה אשיב לך׃ |
Turn you to the strong hold, ye prisoners of hope: even to day do I declare that I will render double unto thee; | Turn to the stronghold, you prisoners of hope! Even today I declare that I will restore double to you. | And they will come back to you, O daughter of Zion, as prisoners of hope: today I say to you that I will give you back twice as much; | |||

כי־דרכתי לי יהודה קשת מלאתי אפרים ועוררתי בניך ציון על־בניך יון ושמתיך כחרב גבור׃ |
When I have bent Judah for me, filled the bow with Ephraim, and raised up thy sons, O Zion, against thy sons, O Greece, and made thee as the sword of a mighty man. | For indeed I bend Judah as a bow for me. I have filled the bow with Ephraim; and I will stir up your sons, Zion, against your sons, Greece, and will make you like the sword of a mighty man. | For I have made Judah a bow bent for my use, I have made Ephraim the arrows of the bow; I will make your sons, O Zion, take up arms against your sons, O Greece, and will make you like the sword of a man of war. | |||

ויהוה עליהם יראה ויצא כברק חצו ואדני יהוה בשופר יתקע והלך בסערות תימן׃ |
And the LORD shall be seen over them, and his arrow shall go forth as the lightning: and the LORD God shall blow the trumpet, and shall go with whirlwinds of the south. | Yahweh will be seen over them; and his arrow will go flash like lightning; and the Lord Yahweh will blow the trumpet, and will go with whirlwinds of the south. | And the Lord will be seen over them, and his arrow will go out like the thunder-flame: and the Lord God, sounding the war-horn, will go in the storm-winds of the South. | |||

יהוה צבאות יגן עליהם ואכלו וכבשו אבני־קלע ושתו המו כמו־יין ומלאו כמזרק כזויות מזבח׃ |
The LORD of hosts shall defend them; and they shall devour, and subdue with sling stones; and they shall drink, and make a noise as through wine; and they shall be filled like bowls, and as the corners of the altar. | Yahweh of Armies will defend them; and they will destroy and overcome with sling stones; and they will drink, and roar as through wine; and they will be filled like bowls, like the corners of the altar. | The Lord of armies will be a cover for them; and they will overcome, crushing under foot the armed men; they will take their blood for drink like wine: they will be full like the sides of the altar. | |||

והושיעם יהוה אלהיהם ביום ההוא כצאן עמו כי אבני־נזר מתנוססות על־אדמתו׃ |
And the LORD their God shall save them in that day as the flock of his people: for they shall be as the stones of a crown, lifted up as an ensign upon his land. | Yahweh their God will save them in that day as the flock of his people; for they are like the jewels of a crown, lifted on high over his land. | And the Lord their God will be their saviour in that day, giving them food like the flock of his people: for they will be like the jewels of a crown shining over his land. | |||

כי מה־טובו ומה־יפיו דגן בחורים ותירוש ינובב בתלות׃ |
For how great is his goodness, and how great is his beauty! corn shall make the young men cheerful, and new wine the maids. | For how great is his goodness, and how great is his beauty! Grain will make the young men flourish, and new wine the virgins. | For how good it is and how beautiful! grain will make the young men strong and new wine the virgins. | |||
