וידבר יהוה אל־משה במדבר־סיני בשנה השנית לצאתם מארץ מצרים בחדש הראשון לאמר׃ |
And the LORD spake unto Moses in the wilderness of Sinai, in the first month of the second year after they were come out of the land of Egypt, saying, | Yahweh spoke to Moses in the wilderness of Sinai, in the first month of the second year after they had come out of the land of Egypt, saying, | And the Lord said to Moses, in the waste land of Sinai, in the first month of the second year after they had come out of the land of Egypt, | |||

ויעשו בני־ישראל את־הפסח במועדו׃ |
Let the children of Israel also keep the passover at his appointed season. | "Moreover let the children of Israel keep the Passover in its appointed season. | Let the children of Israel keep the Passover at its regular time. | |||

בארבעה עשר־יום בחדש הזה בין הערבים תעשו אתו במעדו ככל־חקתיו וככל־משפטיו תעשו אתו׃ |
In the fourteenth day of this month, at even, ye shall keep it in his appointed season: according to all the rites of it, and according to all the ceremonies thereof, shall ye keep it. | On the fourteenth day of this month, at evening, you shall keep it in its appointed season--according to all its statutes, and according to all its ordinances, you shall keep it." | In the fourteenth day of this month, at evening, you are to keep it at the regular time, and in the way ordered in the law. | |||

וידבר משה אל־בני ישראל לעשת הפסח׃ |
And Moses spake unto the children of Israel, that they should keep the passover. | Moses spoke to the children of Israel, that they should keep the Passover. | And Moses gave orders to the children of Israel to keep the Passover. | |||

ויעשו את־הפסח בראשון בארבעה עשר יום לחדש בין הערבים במדבר סיני ככל אשר צוה יהוה את־משה כן עשו בני ישראל׃ |
And they kept the passover on the fourteenth day of the first month at even in the wilderness of Sinai: according to all that the LORD commanded Moses, so did the children of Israel. | They kept the Passover in the first month, on the fourteenth day of the month, at evening, in the wilderness of Sinai. ויהי אנשים אשר היו טמאים לנפש אדם ולא־יכלו לעשת־הפסח ביום ההוא ויקרבו לפני משה ולפני אהרן ביום ההוא׃ |
And there were certain men, who were defiled by the dead body of a man, that they could not keep the passover on that day: and they came before Moses and before Aaron on that day: | There were certain men, who were unclean because of the dead body of a man, so that they could not keep the Passover on that day, and they came before Moses and before Aaron on that day. | And there were certain men who were unclean because of a dead body, so that they were not able to keep the Passover on that day; and they came before Moses and before Aaron on that day: | |||

ויאמרו האנשים ההמה אליו אנחנו טמאים לנפש אדם למה נגרע לבלתי הקריב את־קרבן יהוה במעדו בתוך בני ישראל׃ |
And those men said unto him, We are defiled by the dead body of a man: wherefore are we kept back, that we may not offer an offering of the LORD in his appointed season among the children of Israel? | Those men said to him, "We are unclean because of the dead body of a man. Why are we kept back, that we may not offer the offering of Yahweh in its appointed season among the children of Israel?" | And these men said to him, We have been made unclean by the dead body of a man; why may we not make the offering of the Lord at the regular time among the children of Israel? | |||

ויאמר אלהם משה עמדו ואשמעה מה־יצוה יהוה לכם׃ |
And Moses said unto them, Stand still, and I will hear what the LORD will command concerning you. | Moses answered them, "Wait, that I may hear what Yahweh will command concerning you." | And Moses said to them, Do nothing till the Lord gives me directions about you. | |||

וידבר יהוה אל־משה לאמר׃ |
And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, | Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying, | And the Lord said to Moses, | |||

דבר אל־בני ישראל לאמר איש איש כי־יהיה־טמא לנפש או בדרך רחקה לכם או לדרתיכם ועשה פסח ליהוה׃ |
Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, If any man of you or of your posterity shall be unclean by reason of a dead body, or be in a journey afar off, yet he shall keep the passover unto the LORD. | "Say to the children of Israel, 'If any man of you or of your generations is unclean by reason of a dead body, or is on a journey far away, he shall still keep the Passover to Yahweh. | Say to the children of Israel, If any one of you or of your families is unclean because of a dead body, or is on a journey far away, still he is to keep the Passover to the Lord: | |||

בחדש השני בארבעה עשר יום בין הערבים יעשו אתו על־מצות ומררים יאכלהו׃ |
The fourteenth day of the second month at even they shall keep it, and eat it with unleavened bread and bitter herbs. | In the second month, on the fourteenth day at evening they shall keep it; they shall eat it with unleavened bread and bitter herbs. | In the second month, on the fourteenth day, in the evening, they are to keep it, taking it with unleavened bread and bitter-tasting plants; | |||

לא־ישאירו ממנו עד־בקר ועצם לא ישברו־בו ככל־חקת הפסח יעשו אתו׃ |
They shall leave none of it unto the morning, nor break any bone of it: according to all the ordinances of the passover they shall keep it. | They shall leave none of it until the morning, nor break a bone of it. According to all the statute of the Passover they shall keep it. | Nothing of it is to be kept till the morning, and no bone of it is to be broken: they are to keep it by the rules of the Passover. | |||

והאיש אשר־הוא טהור ובדרך לא־היה וחדל לעשות הפסח ונכרתה הנפש ההוא מעמיה כי קרבן יהוה לא הקריב במעדו חטאו ישא האיש ההוא׃ |
But the man that is clean, and is not in a journey, and forbeareth to keep the passover, even the same soul shall be cut off from among his people: because he brought not the offering of the LORD in his appointed season, that man shall bear his sin. | But the man who is clean, and is not on a journey, and fails to keep the Passover, that soul shall be cut off from his people. Because he didn't offer the offering of Yahweh in its appointed season, that man shall bear his sin. | But the man who, not being unclean or on a journey, does not keep the Passover, will be cut off from his people: because he did not make the offering of the Lord at the regular time, his sin will be on him. | |||

וכי־יגור אתכם גר ועשה פסח ליהוה כחקת הפסח וכמשפטו כן יעשה חקה אחת יהיה לכם ולגר ולאזרח הארץ׃ |
And if a stranger shall sojourn among you, and will keep the passover unto the LORD; according to the ordinance of the passover, and according to the manner thereof, so shall he do: ye shall have one ordinance, both for the stranger, and for him that was born in the land. | "'If a foreigner lives among you, and desires to keep the Passover to Yahweh; according to the statute of the Passover, and according to its ordinance, so shall he do. You shall have one statute, both for the foreigner, and for him who is born in the land.'" | And if a man from another country is among you and has a desire to keep the Passover to the Lord, let him do as is ordered in the law of the Passover: there is to be the same rule for the man from another nation and for him who had his birth in the land. | |||

וביום הקים את־המשכן כסה הענן את־המשכן לאהל העדת ובערב יהיה על־המשכן כמראה־אש עד־בקר׃ |
And on the day that the tabernacle was reared up the cloud covered the tabernacle, namely, the tent of the testimony: and at even there was upon the tabernacle as it were the appearance of fire, until the morning. | On the day that the tabernacle was raised up, the cloud covered the tabernacle, even the Tent of the Testimony: and at evening it was over the tabernacle as it were the appearance of fire, until morning. | And on the day when the House was put up, the cloud came down on it, on the Tent of witness; and in the evening there was a light like fire over the House till the morning. | |||

כן יהיה תמיד הענן יכסנו ומראה־אש לילה׃ |
So it was alway: the cloud covered it by day, and the appearance of fire by night. | So it was continually. The cloud covered it, and the appearance of fire by night. | And so it was at all times: it was covered by the cloud, and by a light as of fire by night. | |||

ולפי העלות הענן מעל האהל ואחרי־כן יסעו בני ישראל ובמקום אשר ישכן־שם הענן שם יחנו בני ישראל׃ |
And when the cloud was taken up from the tabernacle, then after that the children of Israel journeyed: and in the place where the cloud abode, there the children of Israel pitched their tents. | Whenever the cloud was taken up from over the Tent, then after that the children of Israel traveled; and in the place where the cloud remained, there the children of Israel encamped. | And whenever the cloud was taken up from over the House, then the children of Israel went journeying on; and in the place where the cloud came to rest, there the children of Israel put up their tents. | |||

על־פי יהוה יסעו בני ישראל ועל־פי יהוה יחנו כל־ימי אשר ישכן הענן על־המשכן יחנו׃ |
At the commandment of the LORD the children of Israel journeyed, and at the commandment of the LORD they pitched: as long as the cloud abode upon the tabernacle they rested in their tents. | At the commandment of Yahweh, the children of Israel traveled, and at the commandment of Yahweh they encamped. As long as the cloud remained on the tabernacle they remained encamped. | At the order of the Lord the children of Israel went forward, and at the order of the Lord they put up their tents: as long as the cloud was resting on the House, they did not go away from that place. | |||

ובהאריך הענן על־המשכן ימים רבים ושמרו בני־ישראל את־משמרת יהוה ולא יסעו׃ |
And when the cloud tarried long upon the tabernacle many days, then the children of Israel kept the charge of the LORD, and journeyed not. | When the cloud stayed on the tabernacle many days, then the children of Israel kept Yahweh's command, and didn't travel. | When the cloud was resting on the House for a long time the children of Israel, waiting for the order of the Lord, did not go on. | |||

ויש אשר יהיה הענן ימים מספר על־המשכן על־פי יהוה יחנו ועל־פי יהוה יסעו׃ |
And so it was, when the cloud was a few days upon the tabernacle; according to the commandment of the LORD they abode in their tents, and according to the commandment of the LORD they journeyed. | Sometimes the cloud was a few days on the tabernacle; then according to the commandment of Yahweh they remained encamped, and according to the commandment of Yahweh they traveled. | Sometimes the cloud was resting on the House for two or three days; then, by the order of the Lord, they kept their tents in that place, and when the Lord gave the order they went on. | |||

ויש אשר־יהיה הענן מערב עד־בקר ונעלה הענן בבקר ונסעו או יומם ולילה ונעלה הענן ונסעו׃ |
And so it was, when the cloud abode from even unto the morning, and that the cloud was taken up in the morning, then they journeyed: whether it was by day or by night that the cloud was taken up, they journeyed. | Sometimes the cloud was from evening until morning; and when the cloud was taken up in the morning, they traveled: or by day and by night, when the cloud was taken up, they traveled. | And sometimes the cloud was there only from evening to morning; and when the cloud was taken up in the morning they went on their journey again: or if it was resting there by day and by night, whenever the cloud was taken up they went forward. | |||

או־ימים או־חדש או־ימים בהאריך הענן על־המשכן לשכן עליו יחנו בני־ישראל ולא יסעו ובהעלתו יסעו׃ |
Or whether it were two days, or a month, or a year, that the cloud tarried upon the tabernacle, remaining thereon, the children of Israel abode in their tents, and journeyed not: but when it was taken up, they journeyed. | Whether it was two days, or a month, or a year that the cloud stayed on the tabernacle, remaining on it, the children of Israel remained encamped, and didn't travel; but when it was taken up, they traveled. | Or if the cloud came to rest on the House for two days or a month or a year without moving, the children of Israel went on waiting there and did not go on; but whenever it was taken up they went forward on their journey. | |||

על־פי יהוה יחנו ועל־פי יהוה יסעו את־משמרת יהוה שמרו על־פי יהוה ביד־משה׃ |
At the commandment of the LORD they rested in the tents, and at the commandment of the LORD they journeyed: they kept the charge of the LORD, at the commandment of the LORD by the hand of Moses. | At the commandment of Yahweh they encamped, and at the commandment of Yahweh they traveled. They kept Yahweh's command, at the commandment of Yahweh by Moses. | At the word of the Lord they put up their tents, and at the word of the Lord they went forward on their journey: they kept the orders of the Lord as he gave them by Moses. | |||
