| 2. | Listen to the voice of my cry, my King and my God; for to you do I pray. | Give ear to my words, O Lord; give thought to my heart-searchings. | Hearken unto the voice of my cry, my King, and my God: for unto thee will I pray. | ||
| 3. | Yahweh, in the morning you shall hear my voice. In the morning I will lay my requests before you, and will watch expectantly. | Let the voice of my cry come to you, my King and my God; for to you will I make my prayer. | My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O LORD; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up. | ||
| 4. | For you are not a God who has pleasure in wickedness. Evil can't live with you. | My voice will come to you in the morning, O Lord; in the morning will I send my prayer to you, and keep watch. | For thou art not a God that hath pleasure in wickedness: neither shall evil dwell with thee. | ||
| 5. | The arrogant shall not stand in your sight. You hate all workers of iniquity. | For you are not a God who takes pleasure in wrongdoing; there is no evil with you. | The foolish shall not stand in thy sight: thou hatest all workers of iniquity. | ||
| 6. | You will destroy those who speak lies. Yahweh abhors the bloodthirsty and deceitful man. | The sons of pride have no place before you; you are a hater of all workers of evil. | Thou shalt destroy them that speak leasing: the LORD will abhor the bloody and deceitful man. | ||
| 7. | But as for me, in the abundance of your loving kindness I will come into your house. I will bow toward your holy temple in reverence of you. | You will send destruction on those whose words are false; the cruel man and the man of deceit are hated by the Lord. | But as for me, I will come into thy house in the multitude of thy mercy: and in thy fear will I worship toward thy holy temple. | ||
| 8. | Lead me, Yahweh, in your righteousness because of my enemies. Make your way straight before my face. | But as for me, I will come into your house, in the full measure of your mercy; and in your fear I will give worship, turning my eyes to your holy Temple. | Lead me, O LORD, in thy righteousness because of mine enemies; make thy way straight before my face. | ||
| 9. | For there is no faithfulness in their mouth. Their heart is destruction. Their throat is an open tomb. They flatter with their tongue. | Be my guide, O Lord, in the ways of your righteousness, because of those who are against me; make your way straight before my face. | For there is no faithfulness in their mouth; their inward part is very wickedness; their throat is an open sepulchre; they flatter with their tongue. | ||
| 10. | Hold them guilty, God. Let them fall by their own counsels; Thrust them out in the multitude of their transgressions, for they have rebelled against you. | For no faith may be put in their words; their inner part is nothing but evil; their throat is like an open place for the dead; smooth are the words of their tongues. | Destroy thou them, O God; let them fall by their own counsels; cast them out in the multitude of their transgressions; for they have rebelled against thee. | ||
| 11. | But let all those who take refuge in you rejoice, Let them always shout for joy, because you defend them. Let them also who love your name be joyful in you. | Send them to destruction, O Lord; let their evil designs be the cause of their fall; let them be forced out by all their sins; because they have gone against your authority. | But let all those that put their trust in thee rejoice: let them ever shout for joy, because thou defendest them: let them also that love thy name be joyful in thee. | ||
| 12. | For you will bless the righteous. Yahweh, you will surround him with favor as with a shield. | But let all those who put their faith in you be glad with cries of joy at all times, and let all the lovers of your name be glad in you. | For thou, LORD, wilt bless the righteous; with favour wilt thou compass him as with a shield. | ||
