1.    {For the Chief Musician. By David.} In Yahweh, I take refuge. How can you say to my soul, "Flee as a bird to your mountain!"     In the LORD put I my trust: how say ye to my soul, Flee as a bird to your mountain?     למנצח  לדוד  ביהוה

2.    For, behold, the wicked bend their bows. They set their arrows on the strings, that they may shoot in darkness at the upright in heart.     For, lo, the wicked bend their bow, they make ready their arrow upon the string, that they may privily shoot at the upright in heart.     כי  הנה  הרשעים

    KY HNH HUrSh'yYM YDUrKVN QShTh KVNNV ChTShM 'yL-YThUr LYUrVTh BMV-'aPhL LYShUrY- LB.     For lo, the wicked tread a bow, They have prepared their arrow on the string, To shoot in darkness at the upright in heart.     quia ecce impii tetenderunt arcum posuerunt sagittam suam super nervum ut sagittent in abscondito rectos corde

    KY HShThVTh YHUrSVN TShDYQ MH-Ph'yL.     When the foundations are destroyed, The righteous -- what hath he done?     quia leges dissipatae sunt iustus quid operatus est
 
4.    Yahweh is in his holy temple. Yahweh is on his throne in heaven. His eyes observe. His eyes examine the children of men.     The LORD is in his holy temple, the LORD's throne is in heaven: his eyes behold, his eyelids try, the children of men.     יהוה  בהיכל  קדשו 
יהוה  בשמים  כסאו
עיניו  יחזו  עפעפיו
יבחנו  בני  אדם׃
    YHVH BHYKL QDShV YHVH BShMYM KS'aV 'yYNYV YChZV 'yPh'yPhYV YBChNV BNY 'aDM.     `Jehovah is in his holy temple: Jehovah -- in the heavens is His throne. His eyes see -- His eyelids try the sons of men.     Dominus in templo sancto suo Dominus in caelo thronus eius oculi eius vident palpebrae eius probant filios hominum
 
5.    Yahweh examines the righteous, but the wicked and him who loves violence his soul hates.     The LORD trieth the righteous: but the wicked and him that loveth violence his soul hateth.     יהוה  צדיק  יבחן 
ורשע  ואהב  חמס
שנאה  נפשו׃
    YHVH TShDYQ YBChN VUrSh'y V'aHB ChMS ShN'aH NPhShV.     Jehovah the righteous doth try. And the wicked and the lover of violence, Hath His soul hated,     Dominus iustum probat impium autem et diligentem iniquitatem odit anima eius
 
6.    On the wicked he will rain blazing coals; fire, sulfur, and scorching wind shall be the portion of their cup.     Upon the wicked he shall rain snares, fire and brimstone, and an horrible tempest: this shall be the portion of their cup.     ימטר  על־רשעים 
פחים  אש  וגפרית
ורוח  זלעפות  מנת
כוסם׃
    YMTUr 'yL-UrSh'yYM PhChYM 'aSh VGPhUrYTh VUrVCh ZL'yPhVTh MNTh KVSM.     He poureth on the wicked snares, fire, and brimstone, And a horrible wind is the portion of their cup.     pluet super peccatores laqueos ignis et sulphur et spiritus tempestatum pars calicis eorum
 
7.    For Yahweh is righteous. He loves righteousness. The upright shall see his face.     For the righteous LORD loveth righteousness; his countenance doth behold the upright.     כי־צדיק  יהוה 
צדקות  אהב  ישר
יחזו  פנימו׃
    KY-TShDYQ YHVH TShDQVTh 'aHB YShUr YChZV PhNYMV.     For righteous is Jehovah, Righteousness He hath loved, The upright doth His countenance see!`     quoniam iustus Dominus iustitias dilexit rectum videbunt facies eorum
