1.    {A Psalm by David, when he was in the desert of Judah.} God, you are my God. I will earnestly seek you. My soul thirsts for you. My flesh longs for you, in a dry and weary land, where there is no water.     O God, thou art my God; early will I seek thee: my soul thirsteth for thee, my flesh longeth for thee in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is;     מזמור  לדוד  בהיותו 
במדבר  יהודה׃
    MZMVUr LDVD BHYVThV BMDBUr YHVDH.     A Psalm of David, in his being in the wilderness of Judah.     canticum David cum esset in deserto Iuda
 
2.    So I have seen you in the sanctuary, watching your power and your glory.     To see thy power and thy glory, so as I have seen thee in the sanctuary.     אלהים  אלי  אתה 
אשחרך  צמאה  לך
נפשי  כמה  לך  בשרי
בארץ־ציה  ועיף
בלי־מים׃
    'aLHYM 'aLY 'aThH 'aShChUrK TShM'aH LK NPhShY KMH LK BShUrY B'aUrTSh-TShYH V'yYPh BLY-MYM.     O God, Thou art my God, earnestly do I seek Thee, Thirsted for Thee hath my soul, Longed for Thee hath my flesh, In a land dry and weary, without waters.     Deus fortitudo mea tu es de luce consurgam ad te sitivit te anima mea desideravit te caro mea
 
3.    Because your loving kindness is better than life, my lips shall praise you.     Because thy loving-kindness is better than life, my lips shall praise thee.     כן  בקדש  חזיתיך 
לראות  עזך  וכבודך׃
    KN BQDSh ChZYThYK LUr'aVTh 'yZK VKBVDK.     So in the sanctuary I have seen Thee, To behold Thy strength and Thine honour.     in terra invia et conficiente ac sine aqua sic in sancto apparui tibi ut videam fortitudinem tuam et gloriam tuam
 
4.    So I will bless you while I live. I will lift up my hands in your name.     Thus will I bless thee while I live: I will lift up my hands in thy name.     כי־טוב  חסדך  מחיים 
שפתי  ישבחונך׃
    KY-TVB ChSDK MChYYM ShPhThY YShBChVNK.     Because better is Thy kindness than life, My lips do praise Thee.     melior est enim misericordia tua quam vitae labia mea laudabunt te
 
5.    My soul shall be satisfied as with the richest food. My mouth shall praise you with joyful lips,     My soul shall be satisfied as with marrow and fatness; and my mouth shall praise thee with joyful lips:     כן  אברכך  בחיי 
בשמך  אשא  כפי׃
    KN 'aBUrKK BChYY BShMK 'aSh'a KPhY.     So I bless Thee in my life, in Thy name I lift up my hands.     sic benedicam tibi in vita mea in nomine tuo levabo manus meas
 
6.    when I remember you on my bed, and think about you in the night watches.     When I remember thee upon my bed, and meditate on thee in the night watches.     כמו  חלב  ודשן  תשבע 
נפשי  ושפתי  רננות
יהלל־פי׃
    KMV ChLB VDShN ThShB'y NPhShY VShPhThY UrNNVTh YHLL-PhY.     As with milk and fatness is my soul satisfied, And with singing lips doth my mouth praise.     quasi adipe et pinguidine implebitur anima mea et labiis laudantibus canet os meum
 
7.    For you have been my help. I will rejoice in the shadow of your wings.     Because thou hast been my help, therefore in the shadow of thy wings will I rejoice.     אם־זכרתיך 
על־יצועי  באשמרות
אהגה־בך׃
    'aM-ZKUrThYK 'yL-YTShV'yY B'aShMUrVTh 'aHGH-BK.     If I have remembered Thee on my couch, In the watches -- I meditate on Thee.     recordans tui in cubili meo per singulas vigilias meditabor tibi
 
8.    My soul stays close to you. Your right hand holds me up.     My soul followeth hard after thee: thy right hand upholdeth me.     כי־היית  עזרתה  לי 
ובצל  כנפיך  ארנן׃
    KY-HYYTh 'yZUrThH LY VBTShL KNPhYK 'aUrNN.     For Thou hast been a help to me, And in the shadow of Thy wings I sing.     quia fuisti auxilium meum in umbra alarum tuarum laudabo
 
9.    But those who seek my soul, to destroy it, shall go into the lower parts of the earth.     But those that seek my soul, to destroy it, shall go into the lower parts of the earth.     דבקה  נפשי  אחריך 
בי  תמכה  ימינך׃
    DBQH NPhShY 'aChUrYK BY ThMKH YMYNK.     Cleaved hath my soul after Thee, On me hath Thy right hand taken hold.     adhesit anima mea post te me suscepit dextera tua
 
10.    They shall be given over to the power of the sword. They shall be jackal food.     They shall fall by the sword: they shall be a portion for foxes.     והמה  לשואה  יבקשו 
נפשי  יבאו  בתחתיות
הארץ׃
    VHMH LShV'aH YBQShV NPhShY YB'aV BThChThYVTh H'aUrTSh.     And they who for desolation seek my soul, Go in to the lower parts of the earth.     ipsi vero interficere quaerunt animam meam ingrediantur in extrema terrae
 
11.    But the king shall rejoice in God. Everyone who swears by him will praise him, for the mouth of those who speak lies shall be silenced.     But the king shall rejoice in God; every one that sweareth by him shall glory: but the mouth of them that speak lies shall be stopped.     יגירהו  על־ידי־חרב 
מנת  שעלים  יהיו׃
    YGYUrHV 'yL-YDY-ChUrB MNTh Sh'yLYM YHYV.     They cause him to run on the edge of the sword, A portion for foxes they are.     congregentur in manus gladii pars vulpium erunt
