1.    {A Psalm by Asaph.} God, the nations have come into your inheritance. They have defiled your holy temple. They have laid Jerusalem in heaps.     O GOD, the heathen are come into thine inheritance; thy holy temple have they defiled; they have laid Jerusalem on heaps.     מזמור  לאסף  אלהים 
באו  גוים  בנחלתך
טמאו  את־היכל  קדשך
שמו  את־  ירושלם
לעיים׃
    MZMVUr L'aSPh 'aLHYM B'aV GVYM BNChLThK TM'aV 'aTh-HYKL QDShK ShMV 'aTh- YUrVShLM L'yYYM.     A Psalm of Asaph.
O God, nations have come into Thy inheritance, They have defiled Thy holy temple, They made Jerusalem become heaps,
    canticum Asaph Deus venerunt gentes in hereditatem tuam polluerunt templum sanctum tuum posuerunt Hierusalem in acervis lapidum
 
2.    They have given the dead bodies of your servants to be food for the birds of the sky, the flesh of your saints to the animals of the earth.     The dead bodies of thy servants have they given to be meat unto the fowls of the heaven, the flesh of thy saints unto the beasts of the earth.     נתנו  את־נבלת 
עבדיך  מאכל  לעוף
השמים  בשר  חסידיך
לחיתו־ארץ׃
    NThNV 'aTh-NBLTh 'yBDYK M'aKL L'yVPh HShMYM BShUr ChSYDYK LChYThV-'aUrTSh.     They gave the dead bodies of Thy servants Food for the fowls of the heavens, The flesh of Thy saints For the wild beast of the earth.     dederunt cadavera servorum tuorum escam volatilibus caeli carnes sanctorum tuorum bestiis terrae
 
3.    Their blood they have shed like water around Jerusalem. There was no one to bury them.     Their blood have they shed like water round about Jerusalem; and there was none to bury them.     שפכו  דמם  כמים 
סביבות  ירושלם
ואין  קובר׃
    ShPhKV DMM KMYM SBYBVTh YUrVShLM V'aYN QVBUr.     They have shed their blood As water round about Jerusalem, And there is none burying.     effuderunt sanguinem eorum quasi aquam in circuitu Hierusalem et non erat qui sepeliret
 
4.    We have become a reproach to our neighbors, a scoffing and derision to those who are around us.     We are become a reproach to our neighbours, a scorn and derision to them that are round about us.     היינו  חרפה 
לשכנינו  לעג  וקלס
לסביבותינו׃
    HYYNV ChUrPhH LShKNYNV L'yG VQLS LSBYBVThYNV.     We have been a reproach to our neighbours, A scorn and a derision to our surrounders.     facti sumus obprobrium vicinis nostris subsannatio et derisio his qui in circuitu nostro sunt
 
5.    How long, Yahweh? Will you be angry forever? Will your jealousy burn like fire?     How long, LORD? wilt thou be angry for ever? shall thy jealousy burn like fire?     עד־מה  יהוה  תאנף 
לנצח  תבער  כמו־אש
קנאתך׃
    'yD-MH YHVH Th'aNPh LNTShCh ThB'yUr KMV-'aSh QN'aThK.     Till when, O Jehovah? art Thou angry for ever? Thy jealousy doth burn as fire.     usquequo Domine irasceris in finem ardebit quasi ignis zelus tuus
 
6.    Pour out your wrath on the nations that don't know you; on the kingdoms that don't call on your name;     Pour out thy wrath upon the heathen that have not known thee, and upon the kingdoms that have not called upon thy name.     שפך  חמתך  אל־הגוים 
אשר  לא־ידעוך  ועל
ממלכות  אשר  בשמך
לא  קראו׃
    ShPhK ChMThK 'aL-HGVYM 'aShUr L'a-YD'yVK V'yL MMLKVTh 'aShUr BShMK L'a QUr'aV.     Pour Thy fury on the nations who have not known Thee, And on kingdoms that have not called in Thy name.     effunde furorem tuum super gentes quae non cognoverunt te et super regna quae nomen tuum non invocaverunt
 
7.    For they have devoured Jacob, and destroyed his homeland.     For they have devoured Jacob, and laid waste his dwelling place.     כי  אכל  את־יעקב 
ואת־נוהו  השמו׃
    KY 'aKL 'aTh-Y'yQB V'aTh-NVHV HShMV.     For one hath devoured Jacob, And his habitation they have made desolate.     quia comederunt Iacob et decorem eius desolaverunt
 
8.    Don't hold the iniquities of our forefathers against us. Let your tender mercies speedily meet us, for we are in desperate need.     O remember not against us former iniquities: let thy tender mercies speedily prevent us: for we are brought very low.     אל־תזכר־לנו  עונת 
ראשנים  מהר
יקדמונו  רחמיך  כי
דלונו  מאד׃
    'aL-ThZKUr-LNV 'yVNTh Ur'aShNYM MHUr YQDMVNV UrChMYK KY DLVNV M'aD.     Remember not for us the iniquities of forefathers, Haste, let Thy mercies go before us, For we have been very weak.     ne recorderis iniquitatum nostrarum veterum cito occupent nos misericordiae tuae quia adtenuati sumus nimis
 
9.    Help us, God of our salvation, for the glory of your name. Deliver us, and forgive our sins, for your name's sake.     Help us, O God of our salvation, for the glory of thy name: and deliver us, and purge away our sins, for thy name's sake.     עזרנו  אלהי  ישענו 
על־דבר  כבוד־שמך
והצילנו  וכפר
על־חטאתינו  למען
שמך׃
    'yZUrNV 'aLHY YSh'yNV 'yL-DBUr KBVD-ShMK VHTShYLNV VKPhUr 'yL-ChT'aThYNV LM'yN ShMK.     Help us, O God of our salvation, Because of the honour of Thy name, And deliver us, and cover over our sins, For Thy name`s sake.     auxiliare nobis Deus Iesus noster propter gloriam nominis tui et libera nos et propitiare peccatis nostris propter nomen tuum
 
10.    Why should the nations say, "Where is their God?" Let it be known among the nations, before our eyes, that vengeance for your servants' blood is being poured out.     Wherefore should the heathen say, Where is their God? let him be known among the heathen in our sight by the revenging of the blood of thy servants which is shed.     למה  יאמרו  הגוים 
איה  אלהיהם  יודע
בגיים  לעינינו
נקמת  דם־עבדיך
השפוך׃
    LMH Y'aMUrV HGVYM 'aYH 'aLHYHM YVD'y BGYYM L'yYNYNV NQMTh DM-'yBDYK HShPhVK.     Why do the nations say, `Where is their God?` Let be known among the nations before our eyes, The vengeance of the blood of Thy servants that is shed.     quare dicunt gentes ubi est Deus eorum nota fiat in gentibus ante oculos nostros ultio sanguinis servorum tuorum qui effusus est
 
11.    Let the sighing of the prisoner come before you. According to the greatness of your power, preserve those who are sentenced to death.     Let the sighing of the prisoner come before thee; according to the greatness of thy power preserve thou those that are appointed to die;     תבוא  לפניך  אנקת 
אסיר  כגדל  זרועך
הותר  בני  תמותה׃
    ThBV'a LPhNYK 'aNQTh 'aSYUr KGDL ZUrV'yK HVThUr BNY ThMVThH.     Let the groaning of the prisoner come in before Thee, According to the greatness of Thine arm, Leave Thou the sons of death.     ingrediatur coram te gemitus vinctorum in magnitudine brachii tui relinque filios interitus
 
12.    Pay back to our neighbors seven times into their bosom their reproach with which they have reproached you, Lord.     And render unto our neighbours sevenfold into their bosom their reproach, wherewith they have reproached thee, O Lord.     והשב  לשכנינו 
שבעתים  אל־חיקם
חרפתם  אשר  חרפוך
אדני׃
    VHShB LShKNYNV ShB'yThYM 'aL-ChYQM ChUrPhThM 'aShUr ChUrPhVK 'aDNY.     And turn Thou back to our neighbours, Sevenfold unto their bosom, their reproach, Wherewith they reproached Thee, O Lord.     et redde vicinis nostris septuplum in sinu eorum obprobrium suum quo exprobraverunt tibi Domine
 
13.    So we, your people and sheep of your pasture, will give you thanks forever. We will praise you forever, to all generations.     So we thy people and sheep of thy pasture will give thee thanks for ever: we will shew forth thy praise to all generations.     ואנחנו  עמך  וצאן 
מרעיתך  נודה  לך
לעולם  לדר  ודר
נספר  תהלתך׃
    V'aNChNV 'yMK VTSh'aN MUr'yYThK NVDH LK L'yVLM LDUr VDUr NSPhUr ThHLThK.     And we, Thy people, and the flock of Thy pasture, We give thanks to Thee to the age, To all generations we recount Thy praise!     nos enim populus tuus et grex pascuae tuae confitebimur tibi in sempiternum in generatione et generatione narrabimus laudes tuas
