| 7. | Now Moses used to take the tent and to pitch it outside the camp, far away from the camp, and he called it "The Tent of Meeting." It happened that everyone who sought Yahweh went out to the Tent of Meeting, which was outside the camp. | And Moses took the tabernacle, and pitched it without the camp, afar off from the camp, and called it the Tabernacle of the congregation. And it came to pass, that every one which sought the LORD went out unto the tabernacle of the congregation, which was without the camp. |

He turned again into the camp, but his servant Joshua, the son of Nun, a young man, didn't depart out of the Tent. | And the LORD spake unto Moses face to face, as a man speaketh unto his friend. And he turned again into the camp: but his servant Joshua, the son of Nun, a young man, departed not out of the tabernacle. |

Yet you have said, 'I know you by name, and you have also found favor in my sight.' | And Moses said unto the LORD, See, thou sayest unto me, Bring up this people: and thou hast not let me know whom thou wilt send with me. Yet thou hast said, I know thee by name, and thou hast also found grace in my sight. |
ויאמר משה אל־יהוה ראה אתה אמר אלי העל את־העם הזה ואתה לא הודעתני את אשר־תשלח עמי ואתה אמרת ידעתיך בשם וגם־מצאת חן בעיני׃ |
VY'aMUr MShH 'aL-YHVH Ur'aH 'aThH 'aMUr 'aLY H'yL 'aTh-H'yM HZH V'aThH L'a HVD'yThNY 'aTh 'aShUr-ThShLCh 'yMY V'aThH 'aMUrTh YD'yThYK BShM VGM-MTSh'aTh ChN B'yYNY. | And Moses saith unto Jehovah, `See, Thou art saying unto me, Bring up this people, and Thou hast not caused me to know whom Thou dost send with me; and Thou hast said, I have known thee by name, and also thou hast found grace in Mine eyes. | dixit autem Moses ad Dominum praecipis ut educam populum istum et non indicas mihi quem missurus es mecum praesertim cum dixeris novi te ex nomine et invenisti gratiam coram me | |||||
| 13. | Now therefore, if I have found favor in your sight, please show me now your ways, that I may know you, so that I may find favor in your sight: and consider that this nation is your people." | Now therefore, I pray thee, if I have found grace in thy sight, shew me now thy way, that I may know thee, that I may find grace in thy sight: and consider that this nation is thy people. |
ועתה אם־נא מצאתי חן בעיניך הודעני נא את־דרכך ואדעך למען אמצא־ חן בעיניך וראה כי עמך הגוי הזה׃ |
V'yThH 'aM-N'a MTSh'aThY ChN B'yYNYK HVD'yNY N'a 'aTh-DUrKK V'aD'yK LM'yN 'aMTSh'a- ChN B'yYNYK VUr'aH KY 'yMK HGVY HZH. | `And now, if, I pray Thee, I have found grace in Thine eyes, cause me to know, I pray Thee, Thy way, and I know Thee, so that I find grace in Thine eyes, and consider that this nation is Thy people;` | si ergo inveni gratiam in conspectu tuo ostende mihi viam tuam ut sciam te et inveniam gratiam ante oculos tuos respice populum tuum gentem hanc | |||||
| 14. | He said, "My presence will go with you, and I will give you rest." | And he said, My presence shall go with thee, and I will give thee rest. |

| 15. | He said to him, "If your presence doesn't go with me, don't carry us up from here. | And he said unto him, If thy presence go not with me, carry us not up hence. |
ויאמר אליו אם־אין פניך הלכים אל־תעלנו מזה׃ |
VY'aMUr 'aLYV 'aM-'aYN PhNYK HLKYM 'aL-Th'yLNV MZH. | And he saith unto Him, `If Thy presence is not going -- take us not up from this place; | et ait Moses si non tu ipse praecedes ne educas nos de loco isto | |||||
| 16. | For how would people know that I have found favor in your sight, I and your people? Isn't it in that you go with us, so that we are separated, I and your people, from all the people who are on the surface of the earth?" | For wherein shall it be known here that I and thy people have found grace in thy sight? is it not in that thou goest with us? so shall we be separated, I and thy people, from all the people that are upon the face of the earth. |
ובמה יודע אפוא כי־מצאתי חן בעיניך אני ועמך הלוא בלכתך עמנו ונפלינו אני ועמך מכל־העם אשר על־פני האדמה׃ |
VBMH YVD'y 'aPhV'a KY-MTSh'aThY ChN B'yYNYK 'aNY V'yMK HLV'a BLKThK 'yMNV VNPhLYNV 'aNY V'yMK MKL-H'yM 'aShUr 'yL-PhNY H'aDMH. | and in what is it known now, that I have found grace in Thine eyes -- I and Thy people -- is it not in Thy going with us? and we have been distinguished -- I and Thy people -- from all the people who are on the face of the ground.` | in quo enim scire poterimus ego et populus tuus invenisse nos gratiam in conspectu tuo nisi ambulaveris nobiscum ut glorificemur ab omnibus populis qui habitant super terram | |||||
| 17. | Yahweh said to Moses, "I will do this thing also that you have spoken; for you have found favor in my sight, and I know you by name." | And the LORD said unto Moses, I will do this thing also that thou hast spoken: for thou hast found grace in my sight, and I know thee by name. |
ויאמר יהוה אל־משה גם את־הדבר הזה אשר דברת אעשה כי־מצאת חן בעיני ואדעך בשם׃ |
VY'aMUr YHVH 'aL-MShH GM 'aTh-HDBUr HZH 'aShUr DBUrTh 'a'yShH KY-MTSh'aTh ChN B'yYNY V'aD'yK BShM. | And Jehovah saith unto Moses, `Even this thing which thou hast spoken I do; for thou hast found grace in Mine eyes, and I know thee by name.` | dixit autem Dominus ad Mosen et verbum istud quod locutus es faciam invenisti enim gratiam coram me et te ipsum novi ex nomine | |||||
| 18. | He said, "Please show me your glory." | And he said, I beseech thee, shew me thy glory. |

| 19. | He said, "I will make all my goodness pass before you, and will proclaim the name of Yahweh before you. I will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and will show mercy on whom I will show mercy." | And he said, I will make all my goodness pass before thee, and I will proclaim the name of the LORD before thee; and will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and will shew mercy on whom I will shew mercy. |
ויאמר אני אעביר כל־טובי על־פניך וקראתי בשם יהוה לפניך וחנתי את־אשר אחן ורחמתי את־אשר ארחם׃ |

| 20. | He said, "You cannot see my face, for man may not see me and live." | And he said, Thou canst not see my face: for there shall no man see me, and live. |

| 21. | Yahweh also said, "Behold, there is a place by me, and you shall stand on the rock. | And the LORD said, Behold, there is a place by me, and thou shalt stand upon a rock: |
ויאמר יהוה הנה מקום אתי ונצבת על־הצור׃ |
VY'aMUr YHVH HNH MQVM 'aThY VNTShBTh 'yL-HTShVUr. | Jehovah also saith, `Lo, a place is by Me, and thou hast stood on the rock, | et iterum ecce inquit est locus apud me stabis super petram | |||||
| 22. | It will happen, while my glory passes by, that I will put you in a cleft of the rock, and will cover you with my hand until I have passed by; | And it shall come to pass, while my glory passeth by, that I will put thee in a clift of the rock, and will cover thee with my hand while I pass by: |
והיה בעבר כבדי ושמתיך בנקרת הצור ושכתי כפי עליך עד־עברי׃ |
VHYH B'yBUr KBDY VShMThYK BNQUrTh HTShVUr VShKThY KPhY 'yLYK 'yD-'yBUrY. | and it hath come to pass, in the passing by of Mine honour, that I have set thee in a cleft of the rock, and spread out My hands over thee, until My passing by, | cumque transibit gloria mea ponam te in foramine petrae et protegam dextera mea donec transeam | |||||
| 23. | then I will take away my hand, and you will see my back; but my face shall not be seen." | And I will take away mine hand, and thou shalt see my back parts: but my face shall not be seen. |
והסרתי את־כפי וראית את־אחרי ופני לא יראו׃ |
