לא־תקח לך אשה ולא־יהיו לך בנים ובנות במקום הזה׃ |

כי־כה אמר יהוה על־הבנים ועל־הבנות הילודים במקום הזה ועל־אמתם הילדות אותם ועל־אבותם המולדים אותם בארץ הזאת׃ |

ממותי תחלאים ימתו לא יספדו ולא יקברו לדמן על־פני האדמה יהיו ובחרב וברעב יכלו והיתה נבלתם למאכל לעוף השמים ולבהמת הארץ׃ |

| 9. | For thus says Yahweh of Armies, the God of Israel: Behold, I will cause to cease out of this place, before your eyes and in your days, the voice of mirth and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom and the voice of the bride. | For thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Behold, I will cause to cease out of this place in your eyes, and in your days, the voice of mirth, and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom, and the voice of the bride. |

| 10. | It shall happen, when you shall show this people all these words, and they shall tell you, Why has Yahweh pronounced all this great evil against us? or what is our iniquity? or what is our sin that we have committed against Yahweh our God? | And it shall come to pass, when thou shalt shew this people all these words, and they shall say unto thee, Wherefore hath the LORD pronounced all this great evil against us? or what is our iniquity? or what is our sin that we have committed against the LORD our God? |
והיה כי תגיד לעם הזה את כל־הדברים האלה ואמרו אליך על־מה דבר יהוה עלינו את כל־הרעה הגדולה הזאת ומה עוננו ומה חטאתנו אשר חטאנו ליהוה אלהינו׃ |

ואמרת אליהם על אשר־עזבו אבותיכם אותי נאם־יהוה וילכו אחרי אלהים אחרים ויעבדום וישתחוו להם ואתי עזבו ואת־תורתי לא שמרו׃ |
V'aMUrTh 'aLYHM 'yL 'aShUr-'yZBV 'aBVThYKM 'aVThY N'aM-YHVH VYLKV 'aChUrY 'aLHYM 'aChUrYM VY'yBDVM VYShThChVV LHM V'aThY 'yZBV V'aTh-ThVUrThY L'a ShMUrV. | Then thou hast said unto them: Because that your fathers have forsaken Me, An affirmation of Jehovah, And go after other gods, and serve them, And they bow themselves to them, And Me have forsaken, and My law not kept, | dices ad eos quia dereliquerunt patres vestri me ait Dominus et abierunt post deos alienos et servierunt eis et adoraverunt eos et me dereliquerunt et legem meam non custodierunt | |||||
| 12. | and you have done evil more than your fathers; for, behold, you walk every one after the stubbornness of his evil heart, so that you don't listen to me: | And ye have done worse than your fathers; for, behold, ye walk every one after the imagination of his evil heart, that they may not hearken unto me: |
ואתם הרעתם לעשות מאבותיכם והנכם הלכים איש אחרי שררות לבו־הרע לבלתי שמע אלי׃ |
V'aThM HUr'yThM L'yShVTh M'aBVThYKM VHNKM HLKYM 'aYSh 'aChUrY ShUrUrVTh LBV-HUr'y LBLThY ShM'y 'aLY. | Ye also have done evil above your fathers, And lo, ye are walking each after the stubbornness of his evil heart, So as not to hearken unto Me. | sed et vos peius operati estis quam patres vestri ecce enim ambulat unusquisque post pravitatem cordis sui mali ut me non audiat | |||||
| 13. | therefore will I cast you forth out of this land into the land that you have not known, neither you nor your fathers; and there you shall serve other gods day and night; for I will show you no favor. | Therefore will I cast you out of this land into a land that ye know not, neither ye nor your fathers; and there shall ye serve other gods day and night; where I will not shew you favour. |
והטלתי אתכם מעל הארץ הזאת על־הארץ אשר לא ידעתם אתם ואבותיכם ועבדתם־שם את־אלהים אחרים יומם ולילה אשר לא־אתן לכם חנינה׃ |

| 18. | First I will recompense their iniquity and their sin double, because they have polluted my land with the carcasses of their detestable things, and have filled my inheritance with their abominations. | And first I will recompense their iniquity and their sin double; because they have defiled my land, they have filled mine inheritance with the carcases of their detestable and abominable things. |

| 19. | Yahweh, my strength, and my stronghold, and my refuge in the day of affliction, to you shall the nations come from the ends of the earth, and shall say, Our fathers have inherited nothing but lies, [even] vanity and things in which there is no profit. | O LORD, my strength, and my fortress, and my refuge in the day of affliction, the Gentiles shall come unto thee from the ends of the earth, and shall say, Surely our fathers have inherited lies, vanity, and things wherein there is no profit. |
