| 6. | House of Israel, can't I do with you as this potter? says Yahweh. Behold, as the clay in the potter's hand, so are you in my hand, house of Israel. | O house of Israel, cannot I do with you as this potter? saith the LORD. Behold, as the clay is in the potter's hand, so are ye in mine hand, O house of Israel. |

UrG'y 'aDBUr 'yL-GVY V'yL-MMLKH LNThVSh VLNThVTSh VLH'aBYD. | The moment I speak concerning a nation, And concerning a kingdom, To pluck up and to break down, and to destroy, | repente loquar adversum gentem et adversum regnum ut eradicem et destruam et disperdam illud | |||||
| 8. | if that nation, concerning which I have spoken, turn from their evil, I will repent of the evil that I thought to do to them. | If that nation, against whom I have pronounced, turn from their evil, I will repent of the evil that I thought to do unto them. |

| 10. | if they do that which is evil in my sight, that they not obey my voice, then I will repent of the good, with which I said I would benefit them. | If it do evil in my sight, that it obey not my voice, then I will repent of the good, wherewith I said I would benefit them. |
ועשה הרעה בעיני לבלתי שמע בקולי ונחמתי על־הטובה אשר אמרתי להיטיב אותו׃ |

| 11. | Now therefore, speak to the men of Judah, and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem, saying, Thus says Yahweh: Behold, I frame evil against you, and devise a device against you: return you now everyone from his evil way, and amend your ways and your doings. | Now therefore go to, speak to the men of Judah, and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem, saying, Thus saith the LORD; Behold, I frame evil against you, and devise a device against you: return ye now every one from his evil way, and make your ways and your doings good. |
ועתה אמר־נא אל־איש־יהודה ועל־יושבי ירושלם לאמר כה אמר יהוה הנה אנכי יוצר עליכם רעה וחשב עליכם מחשבה שובו נא איש מדרכו הרעה והיטיבו דרכיכם ומעלליכם׃ |

| 12. | But they say, It is in vain; for we will walk after our own devices, and we will do everyone after the stubbornness of his evil heart. | And they said, There is no hope: but we will walk after our own devices, and we will every one do the imagination of his evil heart. |
ואמרו נואש כי־אחרי מחשבותינו נלך ואיש שררות לבו־הרע נעשה׃ |
V'aMUrV NV'aSh KY-'aChUrY MChShBVThYNV NLK V'aYSh ShUrUrVTh LBV-HUr'y N'yShH. | And they have said, It is incurable, For after our own devices we do go, And each the stubbornness of his evil heart we do. | qui dixerunt desperavimus post cogitationes enim nostras ibimus et unusquisque pravitatem cordis sui mali faciemus | |||||

היעזב מצור שדי שלג לבנון אם־ינתשו מים זרים קרים נוזלים׃ |

| 15. | For my people have forgotten me, they have burned incense to false [gods]; and they have been made to stumble in their ways, in the ancient paths, to walk in byways, in a way not built up; | Because my people hath forgotten me, they have burned incense to vanity, and they have caused them to stumble in their ways from the ancient paths, to walk in paths, in a way not cast up; |
כי־שכחני עמי לשוא יקטרו ויכשלום בדרכיהם שבילי עולם ללכת נתיבות דרך לא סלולה׃ |
KY-ShKChNY 'yMY LShV'a YQTUrV VYKShLVM BDUrKYHM ShBYLY 'yVLM LLKTh NThYBVTh DUrK L'a SLVLH. | But My people have forgotten Me, to a vain thing they make perfume, And they cause them to stumble in their ways -- paths of old, To walk in paths -- a way not raised up, | quia oblitus est mei populus meus frustra libantes et inpingentes in viis suis in semitis saeculi ut ambularent per eas in itinere non trito | |||||
