| 2. | Son of man, set your face against Mount Seir, and prophesy against it, | Son of man, set thy face against mount Seir, and prophesy against it, |

| 3. | and tell it, Thus says the Lord Yahweh: Behold, I am against you, Mount Seir, and I will stretch out my hand against you, and I will make you a desolation and an astonishment. | And say unto it, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, O mount Seir, I am against thee, and I will stretch out mine hand against thee, and I will make thee most desolate. |
ואמרת לו כה אמר אדני יהוה הנני אליך הר־שעיר ונטיתי ידי עליך ונתתיך שממה ומשמה׃ |
V'aMUrTh LV KH 'aMUr 'aDNY YHVH HNNY 'aLYK HUr-Sh'yYUr VNTYThY YDY 'yLYK VNThThYK ShMMH VMShMH. | and thou hast said to it: Thus said the Lord Jehovah: Lo, I am against thee, O mount Seir, And have stretched out My hand against thee, And made thee a desolation and an astonishment. | haec dicit Dominus Deus ecce ego ad te mons Seir et extendam manum meam super te et dabo te desolatum atque desertum | |||||
| 4. | I will lay your cities waste, and you shall be desolate; and you shall know that I am Yahweh. | I will lay thy cities waste, and thou shalt be desolate, and thou shalt know that I am the LORD. |
עריך חרבה אשים ואתה שממה תהיה וידעת כי־אני יהוה׃ |
'yUrYK ChUrBH 'aShYM V'aThH ShMMH ThHYH VYD'yTh KY-'aNY YHVH. | Thy cities a waste I make, and thou art a desolation, And thou hast known that I am Jehovah. | urbes tuas demoliar et tu desertus eris et scies quia ego Dominus | |||||
| 5. | Because you have had a perpetual enmity, and have given over the children of Israel to the power of the sword in the time of their calamity, in the time of the iniquity of the end; | Because thou hast had a perpetual hatred, and hast shed the blood of the children of Israel by the force of the sword in the time of their calamity, in the time that their iniquity had an end: |
יען היות לך איבת עולם ותגר את־בני־ישראל על־ידי־חרב בעת אידם בעת עון קץ׃ |
Y'yN HYVTh LK 'aYBTh 'yVLM VThGUr 'aTh-BNY-YShUr'aL 'yL-YDY-ChUrB B'yTh 'aYDM B'yTh 'yVN QTSh. | Because of thy having an enmity age-during, And thou dost saw the sons of Israel, By the hands of the sword, In the time of their calamity, In the time of the iniquity of the end: | eo quod fueris inimicus sempiternus et concluseris filios Israhel in manus gladii in tempore adflictionis eorum in tempore iniquitatis extremae | |||||
| 6. | therefore, as I live, says the Lord Yahweh, I will prepare you for blood, and blood shall pursue you: since you have not hated blood, therefore blood shall pursue you. | Therefore, as I live, saith the Lord GOD, I will prepare thee unto blood, and blood shall pursue thee: sith thou hast not hated blood, even blood shall pursue thee. |
לכן חי־אני נאם אדני יהוה כי־לדם אעשך ודם ירדפך אם־לא דם שנאת ודם ירדפך׃ |
LKN ChY-'aNY N'aM 'aDNY YHVH KY-LDM 'a'yShK VDM YUrDPhK 'aM-L'a DM ShN'aTh VDM YUrDPhK. | Therefore, I live -- an affirmation of the Lord Jehovah, Surely for blood I do appoint thee, And blood doth pursue thee, If blood thou hast not hated, Blood also doth pursue thee. | propterea vivo ego dicit Dominus Deus quoniam sanguini tradam te et sanguis te persequetur et cum sanguinem oderis sanguis persequetur te | |||||
| 7. | Thus will I make Mount Seir an astonishment and a desolation; and I will cut off from it him who passes through and him who returns. | Thus will I make mount Seir most desolate, and cut off from it him that passeth out and him that returneth. |

VNThThY 'aTh-HUr Sh'yYUr LShMMH VShMMH VHKUrThY MMNV 'yBUr VShB. | And I have given mount Seir for a desolation and an astonishment, And have cut off from it him who is passing over and him who is returning, | et dabo montem Seir desolatum et desertum et auferam de eo euntem et redeuntem | |||||
| 8. | I will fill its mountains with its slain: in your hills and in your valleys and in all your watercourses shall they fall who are slain with the sword. | And I will fill his mountains with his slain men: in thy hills, and in thy valleys, and in all thy rivers, shall they fall that are slain with the sword. |
ומלאתי את־הריו חלליו גבעותיך וגאותיך וכל־אפיקיך חללי־חרב יפלו בהם׃ |
VML'aThY 'aTh-HUrYV ChLLYV GB'yVThYK VG'aVThYK VKL-'aPhYQYK ChLLY-ChUrB YPhLV BHM. | And filled his mountains with his wounded, Thy hills, and thy valleys, and all thy streams, The pierced of the sword fall into them. | et implebo montes eius occisorum suorum in collibus tuis et in vallibus tuis atque in torrentibus interfecti gladio cadent | |||||
| 9. | I will make you a perpetual desolation, and your cities shall not be inhabited; and you shall know that I am Yahweh. | I will make thee perpetual desolations, and thy cities shall not return: and ye shall know that I am the LORD. |

| 11. | therefore, as I live, says the Lord Yahweh, I will do according to your anger, and according to your envy which you have shown out of your hatred against them; and I will make myself known among them, when I shall judge you. | Therefore, as I live, saith the Lord GOD, I will even do according to thine anger, and according to thine envy which thou hast used out of thy hatred against them; and I will make myself known among them, when I have judged thee. |
לכן חי־אני נאם אדני יהוה ועשיתי כאפך וכקנאתך אשר עשיתה משנאתיך בם ונודעתי בם כאשר אשפטך׃ |

| 12. | You shall know that I, Yahweh, have heard all your insults which you have spoken against the mountains of Israel, saying, They are laid desolate, they have been given us to devour. | And thou shalt know that I am the LORD, and that I have heard all thy blasphemies which thou hast spoken against the mountains of Israel, saying, They are laid desolate, they are given us to consume. |
וידעת כי־אני יהוה שמעתי את־כל־נאצותיך אשר אמרת על־הרי ישראל לאמר שממה לנו נתנו לאכלה׃ |
VYD'yTh KY-'aNY YHVH ShM'yThY 'aTh-KL-N'aTShVThYK 'aShUr 'aMUrTh 'yL-HUrY YShUr'aL L'aMUr ShMMH LNV NThNV L'aKLH. | And thou hast known that I -- Jehovah, I have heard all thy despisings that thou hast spoken Against mountains of Israel, saying: A desolation, to us they were given for food. | et scies quia ego Dominus audivi universa obprobria tua quae locutus es de montibus Israhel dicens deserti nobis dati sunt ad devorandum | |||||
| 13. | You have magnified yourselves against me with your mouth, and have multiplied your words against me: I have heard it. | Thus with your mouth ye have boasted against me, and have multiplied your words against me: I have heard them. |
ותגדילו עלי בפיכם והעתרתם עלי דבריכם אני שמעתי׃ |
VThGDYLV 'yLY BPhYKM VH'yThUrThM 'yLY DBUrYKM 'aNY ShM'yThY. | And ye magnify yourselves against Me with your mouth, And have made abundant against Me your words, I -- I have heard. | et insurrexistis super me ore vestro et rogastis adversum me verba vestra ego audivi | |||||
| 14. | Thus says the Lord Yahweh: When the whole earth rejoices, I will make you desolate. | Thus saith the Lord GOD; When the whole earth rejoiceth, I will make thee desolate. |
כה אמר אדני יהוה כשמח כל־הארץ שממה אעשה־לך׃ |
KH 'aMUr 'aDNY YHVH KShMCh KL-H'aUrTSh ShMMH 'a'yShH-LK. | Thus said the Lord Jehovah: According to the rejoicing of the whole land, A desolation I make of thee. | haec dicit Dominus Deus laetante universa terra in solitudinem te redigam | |||||
| 15. | As you rejoiced over the inheritance of the house of Israel, because it was desolate, so will I do to you: you shall be desolate, Mount Seir, and all Edom, even all of it; and they shall know that I am Yahweh. | As thou didst rejoice at the inheritance of the house of Israel, because it was desolate, so will I do unto thee: thou shalt be desolate, O mount Seir, and all Idumea, even all of it: and they shall know that I am the LORD. |
כשמחתך לנחלת בית־ישראל על אשר־שממה כן אעשה־לך שממה תהיה הר־ שעיר וכל־אדום כלה וידעו כי־אני יהוה׃ |
KShMChThK LNChLTh BYTh-YShUr'aL 'yL 'aShUr-ShMMH KN 'a'yShH-LK ShMMH ThHYH HUr- Sh'yYUr VKL-'aDVM KLH VYD'yV KY-'aNY YHVH. | According to thy joy at the inheritance of the house of Israel because of desolation, So I do to thee -- a desolation thou art, O mount Seir, and all Edom -- all of it, And they have known that I am Jehovah! | sicuti gavisus es super hereditatem domus Israhel eo quod fuerit dissipata sic faciam tibi dissipatus eris mons Seir et Idumea omnis et scient quia ego Dominus | |||||
