1.    The people were complaining in the ears of Yahweh. When Yahweh heard it, his anger was kindled; and Yahweh's fire burnt among them, and consumed some of the outskirts of the camp.     And when the people complained, it displeased the LORD: and the LORD heard it; and his anger was kindled; and the fire of the LORD burnt among them, and consumed them that were in the uttermost parts of the camp.     ויהי  העם  כמתאננים 
רע  באזני  יהוה
וישמע  יהוה  ויחר
אפו  ותבער־בם  אש
יהוה  ותאכל  בקצה
המחנה׃
    VYHY H'yM KMTh'aNNYM Ur'y B'aZNY YHVH VYShM'y YHVH VYChUr 'aPhV VThB'yUr-BM 'aSh YHVH VTh'aKL BQTShH HMChNH.     And the people is evil, as those sighing habitually in the ears of Jehovah, and Jehovah heareth, and His anger burneth, and the fire of Jehovah burneth among them, and consumeth in the extremity of the camp.     interea ortum est murmur populi quasi dolentium pro labore contra Dominum quod cum audisset iratus est et accensus in eos ignis Domini devoravit extremam castrorum partem
 
2.    The people cried to Moses; and Moses prayed to Yahweh, and the fire abated.     And the people cried unto Moses; and when Moses prayed unto the LORD, the fire was quenched.     ויצעק  העם  אל־משה 
ויתפלל  משה
אל־יהוה  ותשקע
האש׃
    VYTSh'yQ H'yM 'aL-MShH VYThPhLL MShH 'aL-YHVH VThShQ'y H'aSh.     And the people cry unto Moses, and Moses prayeth unto Jehovah, and the fire is quenched;     cumque clamasset populus ad Mosen oravit Moses Dominum et absortus est ignis
 
3.    The name of that place was called Taberah{Taberah means "burning"}, because Yahweh's fire burnt among them.     And he called the name of the place Taberah: because the fire of the LORD burnt among them.     ויקרא  שם־המקום 
ההוא  תבערה
כי־בערה  בם  אש
יהוה׃
    VYQUr'a ShM-HMQVM HHV'a ThB'yUrH KY-B'yUrH BM 'aSh YHVH.     and he calleth the name of that place Taberah, for the fire of Jehovah hath `burned` among them.     vocavitque nomen loci illius Incensio eo quod succensus fuisset contra eos ignis Domini
 
4.    The mixed multitude that was among them lusted exceedingly: and the children of Israel also wept again, and said, "Who will give us flesh to eat?     And the mixt multitude that was among them fell a lusting: and the children of Israel also wept again, and said, Who shall give us flesh to eat?     והאספסף  אשר  בקרבו 
התאוו  תאוה  וישבו
ויבכו  גם  בני
ישראל  ויאמרו  מי
יאכלנו  בשר׃
    VH'aSPhSPh 'aShUr BQUrBV HTh'aVV Th'aVH VYShBV VYBKV GM BNY YShUr'aL VY'aMUrV MY Y'aKLNV BShUr.     And the rabble who are in its midst have lusted greatly, and the sons of Israel also turn back and weep, and say, `Who doth give us flesh?     vulgus quippe promiscuum quod ascenderat cum eis flagravit desiderio sedens et flens iunctis sibi pariter filiis Israhel et ait quis dabit nobis ad vescendum carnes
 
5.    We remember the fish, which we ate in Egypt for nothing; the cucumbers, and the melons, and the leeks, and the onions, and the garlic;     We remember the fish, which we did eat in Egypt freely; the cucumbers, and the melons, and the leeks, and the onions, and the garlick:     זכרנו  את־הדגה 
אשר־נאכל  במצרים
חנם  את  הקשאים  ואת
האבטחים  ואת־
החציר  ואת־הבצלים
ואת־השומים׃
    ZKUrNV 'aTh-HDGH 'aShUr-N'aKL BMTShUrYM ChNM 'aTh HQSh'aYM V'aTh H'aBTChYM V'aTh- HChTShYUr V'aTh-HBTShLYM V'aTh-HShVMYM.     We have remembered the fish which we do eat in Egypt for nought, the cucumbers, and the melons, and the leeks, and the onions, and the garlick;     recordamur piscium quos comedebamus in Aegypto gratis in mentem nobis veniunt cucumeres et pepones porrique et cepae et alia
 
6.    but now we have lost our appetite. There is nothing at all except this manna to look at."     But now our soul is dried away: there is nothing at all, beside this manna, before our eyes.     ועתה  נפשנו  יבשה 
אין  כל  בלתי
אל־המן  עינינו׃
    V'yThH NPhShNV YBShH 'aYN KL BLThY 'aL-HMN 'yYNYNV.     and now our soul is dry, there is not anything, save the manna, before our eyes.`     anima nostra arida est nihil aliud respiciunt oculi nostri nisi man
 
7.    The manna was like coriander seed, and its appearance like the appearance of bdellium.     And the manna was as coriander seed, and the colour thereof as the colour of bdellium.     והמן  כזרע־גד  הוא 
ועינו  כעין  הבדלח׃
    VHMN KZUr'y-GD HV'a V'yYNV K'yYN HBDLCh.     And the manna is as coriander seed, and its aspect as the aspect of bdolach;     erat autem man quasi semen coriandri coloris bdellii
 
8.    The people went around, gathered it, and ground it in mills, or beat it in mortars, and boiled it in pots, and made cakes of it. Its taste was like the taste of fresh oil.     And the people went about, and gathered it, and ground it in mills, or beat it in a mortar, and baked it in pans, and made cakes of it: and the taste of it was as the taste of fresh oil.     שטו  העם  ולקטו

בפרור  ועשו  אתו
עגות  והיה  טעמו
כטעם  לשד  השמן׃
    ShTV H'yM VLQTV VTChNV BUrChYM 'aV DKV BMDKH VBShLV BPhUrVUr V'yShV 'aThV 'yGVTh VHYH T'yMV KT'yM LShD HShMN.     the people have turned aside and gathered it, and ground it with millstones, or beat it in a mortar, and boiled it in a pan, and made it cakes, and its taste hath been as the taste of the moisture of oil.     circuibatque populus et colligens illud frangebat mola sive terebat in mortario coquens in olla et faciens ex eo tortulas saporis quasi panis oleati
 
9.    When the dew fell on the camp in the night, the manna fell on it.     And when the dew fell upon the camp in the night, the manna fell upon it.     וברדת  הטל 
על־המחנה  לילה  ירד
המן  עליו׃
    VBUrDTh HTL 'yL-HMChNH LYLH YUrD HMN 'yLYV.     And in the descending of the dew on the camp by night, the manna descendeth upon it.     cumque descenderet nocte super castra ros descendebat pariter et man
 
10.    Moses heard the people weeping throughout their families, every man at the door of his tent; and the anger of Yahweh was kindled greatly; and Moses was displeased.     Then Moses heard the people weep throughout their families, every man in the door of his tent: and the anger of the LORD was kindled greatly; Moses also was displeased.     וישמע  משה  את־העם 
בכה  למשפחתיו  איש
לפתח  אהלו  ויחר־אף
יהוה  מאד  ובעיני
משה  רע׃
    VYShM'y MShH 'aTh-H'yM BKH LMShPhChThYV 'aYSh LPhThCh 'aHLV VYChUr-'aPh YHVH M'aD VB'yYNY MShH Ur'y.     And Moses heareth the people weeping by its families, each at the opening of his tent, and the anger of Jehovah burneth exceedingly, and in the eyes of Moses it is evil.     audivit ergo Moses flentem populum per familias singulos per ostia tentorii sui iratusque est furor Domini valde sed et Mosi intoleranda res visa est
 
11.    Moses said to Yahweh, "Why have you treated with your servant so badly? Why haven't I found favor in your sight, that you lay the burden of all this people on me?     And Moses said unto the LORD, Wherefore hast thou afflicted thy servant? and wherefore have I not found favour in thy sight, that thou layest the burden of all this people upon me?     ויאמר  משה  אל־יהוה 
למה  הרעת  לעבדך
ולמה  לא־מצתי  חן
בעיניך  לשום
את־משא  כל־העם  הזה
עלי׃
    VY'aMUr MShH 'aL-YHVH LMH HUr'yTh L'yBDK VLMH L'a-MTShThY ChN B'yYNYK LShVM 'aTh-MSh'a KL-H'yM HZH 'yLY.     And Moses saith unto Jehovah, `Why hast Thou done evil to Thy servant? and why have I not found grace in Thine eyes -- to put the burden of all this people upon me?     et ait ad Dominum cur adflixisti servum tuum quare non invenio gratiam coram te et cur inposuisti pondus universi populi huius super me
 
12.    Have I conceived all this people? Have I brought them forth, that you should tell me, 'Carry them in your bosom, as a nurse carries a nursing infant, to the land which you swore to their fathers?'     Have I conceived all this people? have I begotten them, that thou shouldest say unto me, Carry them in thy bosom, as a nursing father beareth the sucking child, unto the land which thou swarest unto their fathers?     האנכי  הריתי  את

    H'aNKY HUrYThY 'aTh KL-H'yM HZH 'aM-'aNKY YLDThYHV KY-Th'aMUr 'aLY Sh'aHV BChYQK K'aShUr YSh'a H'aMN 'aTh-HYNQ 'yL H'aDMH 'aShUr NShB'yTh L'aBThYV.     I -- have I conceived all this people? I -- have I begotten it, that Thou sayest unto me, Carry it in thy bosom as the nursing father beareth the suckling, unto the ground which Thou hast sworn to its fathers?     numquid ego concepi omnem hanc multitudinem vel genui eam ut dicas mihi porta eos in sinu tuo sicut portare solet nutrix infantulum et defer in terram pro qua iurasti patribus eorum
 
13.    Where could I get meat to give to all this people? For they weep to me, saying, 'Give us meat, that we may eat.'     Whence should I have flesh to give unto all this people? for they weep unto me, saying, Give us flesh, that we may eat.     מאין  לי  בשר  לתת

    M'aYN LY BShUr LThTh LKL-H'yM HZH KY-YBKV 'yLY L'aMUr ThNH-LNV BShUr VN'aKLH.     Whence have I flesh to give to all this people? for they weep unto me, saying, Give to us flesh, and we eat.     unde mihi carnes ut dem tantae multitudini flent contra me dicentes da nobis carnes ut comedamus
 
14.    I am not able to bear all this people alone, because it is too heavy for me.     I am not able to bear all this people alone, because it is too heavy for me.     לא־אוכל  אנכי  לבדי

הזה  כי  כבד  ממני׃
    L'a-'aVKL 'aNKY LBDY LSh'aTh 'aTh-KL-H'yM HZH KY KBD MMNY.     I am not able -- I alone -- to bear all this people, for it is too heavy for me;     non possum solus sustinere omnem hunc populum quia gravis mihi est
 
15.    If you treat me this way, please kill me right now, if I have found favor in your sight; and don't let me see my wretchedness."     And if thou deal thus with me, kill me, I pray thee, out of hand, if I have found favour in thy sight; and let me not see my wretchedness.     ואם־ככה  את־עשה  לי 
הרגני  נא  הרג
אם־מצאתי  חן
בעיניך  ואל־אראה
ברעתי׃
    V'aM-KKH 'aTh-'yShH LY HUrGNY N'a HUrG 'aM-MTSh'aThY ChN B'yYNYK V'aL-'aUr'aH BUr'yThY.     and if thus Thou art doing to me -- slay me, I pray Thee; slay, if I have found grace in thine eyes, and let me not look on mine affliction.`     sin aliter tibi videtur obsecro ut interficias me et inveniam gratiam in oculis tuis ne tantis adficiar malis
 
16.    Yahweh said to Moses, "Gather to me seventy men of the elders of Israel, whom you know to be the elders of the people, and officers over them; and bring them to the Tent of Meeting, that they may stand there with you.     And the LORD said unto Moses, Gather unto me seventy men of the elders of Israel, whom thou knowest to be the elders of the people, and officers over them; and bring them unto the tabernacle of the congregation, that they may stand there with thee.     ויאמר  יהוה  אל־משה 
אספה־לי  שבעים  איש
מזקני  ישראל  אשר
ידעת  כי־  הם  זקני
העם  ושטריו  ולקחת
אתם  אל־אהל  מועד
והתיצבו  שם  עמך׃
    VY'aMUr YHVH 'aL-MShH 'aSPhH-LY ShB'yYM 'aYSh MZQNY YShUr'aL 'aShUr YD'yTh KY- HM ZQNY H'yM VShTUrYV VLQChTh 'aThM 'aL-'aHL MV'yD VHThYTShBV ShM 'yMK.     And Jehovah saith unto Moses, `Gather to Me seventy men of the elders of Israel, whom thou hast known that they are elders of the people, and its authorities; and thou hast taken them unto the tent of meeting, and they have stationed themselves there with thee,     et dixit Dominus ad Mosen congrega mihi septuaginta viros de senibus Israhel quos tu nosti quod senes populi sint ac magistri et duces eos ad ostium tabernaculi foederis faciesque ibi stare tecum
 
17.    I will come down and talk with you there. I will take of the Spirit which is on you, and will put it on them; and they shall bear the burden of the people with you, that you not bear it yourself alone.     And I will come down and talk with thee there: and I will take of the spirit which is upon thee, and will put it upon them; and they shall bear the burden of the people with thee, that thou bear it not thyself alone.     וירדתי  ודברתי  עמך 
שם  ואצלתי  מן־הרוח
אשר  עליך  ושמתי
עליהם  ונשאו  אתך
במשא  העם  ולא־תשא
אתה  לבדך׃
    VYUrDThY VDBUrThY 'yMK ShM V'aTShLThY MN-HUrVCh 'aShUr 'yLYK VShMThY 'yLYHM VNSh'aV 'aThK BMSh'a H'yM VL'a-ThSh'a 'aThH LBDK.     and I have come down and spoken with thee there, and have kept back of the Spirit which is upon thee, and have put on them, and they have borne with thee some of the burden of the people, and thou dost not bear it thyself alone.     ut descendam et loquar tibi et auferam de spiritu tuo tradamque eis ut sustentent tecum onus populi et non tu solus graveris
 
18.    "Say to the people, 'Sanctify yourselves against tomorrow, and you will eat flesh; for you have wept in the ears of Yahweh, saying, "Who will give us flesh to eat? For it was well with us in Egypt." Therefore Yahweh will give you flesh, and you will eat.     And say thou unto the people, Sanctify yourselves against to morrow, and ye shall eat flesh: for ye have wept in the ears of the LORD, saying, Who shall give us flesh to eat? for it was well with us in Egypt: therefore the LORD will give you flesh, and ye shall eat.     ואל־העם  תאמר 
התקדשו  למחר
ואכלתם  בשר  כי
בכיתם  באזני  יהוה
לאמר  מי  יאכלנו
בשר  כי־טוב  לנו
במצרים  ונתן  יהוה
לכם  בשר  ואכלתם׃
    V'aL-H'yM Th'aMUr HThQDShV LMChUr V'aKLThM BShUr KY BKYThM B'aZNY YHVH L'aMUr MY Y'aKLNV BShUr KY-TVB LNV BMTShUrYM VNThN YHVH LKM BShUr V'aKLThM.     `And unto the people thou dost say, Sanctify yourselves for to-morrow, and ye have eaten flesh (for ye have wept in the ears of Jehovah, saying, Who doth give us flesh? for we had good in Egypt) -- and Jehovah hath given to you flesh, and ye have eaten.     populo quoque dices sanctificamini cras comedetis carnes ego enim audivi vos dicere quis dabit nobis escas carnium bene nobis erat in Aegypto ut det vobis Dominus carnes et comedatis
 
19.    You will not eat one day, nor two days, nor five days, neither ten days, nor twenty days,     Ye shall not eat one day, nor two days, nor five days, neither ten days, nor twenty days;     לא  יום  אחד  תאכלון

20.    but a whole month, until it come out at your nostrils, and it is loathsome to you; because that you have rejected Yahweh who is among you, and have wept before him, saying, "Why did we come out of Egypt?"'"     But even a whole month, until it come out at your nostrils, and it be loathsome unto you: because that ye have despised the LORD which is among you, and have wept before him, saying, Why came we forth out of Egypt?     עד  חדש  ימים  עד

    'yD ChDSh YMYM 'yD 'aShUr-YTSh'a M'aPhKM VHYH LKM LZUr'a Y'yN KY-M'aSThM 'aTh- YHVH 'aShUr BQUrBKM VThBKV LPhNYV L'aMUr LMH ZH YTSh'aNV MMTShUrYM.     unto a month of days, till that it come out from your nostrils, and it hath become to you an abomination; because that ye have loathed Jehovah, who is in your midst, and weep before Him, saying, Why is this? -- we have come out of Egypt!`     sed usque ad mensem dierum donec exeat per nares vestras et vertatur in nausiam eo quod reppuleritis Dominum qui in medio vestri est et fleveritis coram eo dicentes quare egressi sumus ex Aegypto
 
21.    Moses said, "The people, among whom I am, are six hundred thousand men on foot; and you have said, 'I will give them flesh, that they may eat a whole month.'     And Moses said, The people, among whom I am, are six hundred thousand footmen; and thou hast said, I will give them flesh, that they may eat a whole month.     ויאמר  משה  שש־מאות 
אלף  רגלי  העם  אשר
אנכי  בקרבו  ואתה
אמרת  בשר  אתן  להם
ואכלו  חדש  ימים׃
    VY'aMUr MShH ShSh-M'aVTh 'aLPh UrGLY H'yM 'aShUr 'aNKY BQUrBV V'aThH 'aMUrTh BShUr 'aThN LHM V'aKLV ChDSh YMYM.     And Moses saith, `Six hundred thousand footmen are the people in whose midst I am; and Thou, Thou hast said, Flesh I give to them, and they have eaten, a month of days!     et ait Moses sescenta milia peditum huius populi sunt et tu dicis dabo eis esum carnium mense integro
 
22.    Shall flocks and herds be slaughtered for them, to be sufficient for them? Shall all the fish of the sea be gathered together for them, to be sufficient for them?"     Shall the flocks and the herds be slain for them, to suffice them? or shall all the fish of the sea be gathered together for them, to suffice them?     הצאן  ובקר  ישחט

    HTSh'aN VBQUr YShChT LHM VMTSh'a LHM 'aM 'aTh-KL-DGY HYM Y'aSPh LHM VMTSh'a LHM.     Is flock and herd slaughtered for them, that one hath found for them? -- are all the fishes of the sea gathered for them -- that one hath found for them?`     numquid ovium et boum multitudo caedetur ut possit sufficere ad cibum vel omnes pisces maris in unum congregabuntur ut eos satient
 
23.    Yahweh said to Moses, "Has Yahweh's hand grown short? Now you will see whether my word will happen to you or not."     And the LORD said unto Moses, Is the LORD's hand waxed short? thou shalt see now whether my word shall come to pass unto thee or not.     ויאמר  יהוה  אל־משה 
היד  יהוה  תקצר  עתה
תראה  היקרך  דברי
אם־לא׃
    VY'aMUr YHVH 'aL-MShH HYD YHVH ThQTShUr 'yThH ThUr'aH HYQUrK DBUrY 'aM-L'a.     And Jehovah saith unto Moses, `Is the hand of Jehovah become short? now thou dost see whether My word meeteth thee or not.`     cui respondit Dominus numquid manus Domini invalida est iam nunc videbis utrum meus sermo opere conpleatur
 
24.    Moses went out, and told the people the words of Yahweh; and he gathered seventy men of the elders of the people, and set them around the Tent.     And Moses went out, and told the people the words of the LORD, and gathered the seventy men of the elders of the people, and set them round about the tabernacle.     ויצא  משה  וידבר 
אל־העם  את  דברי
יהוה  ויאסף  שבעים
איש  מזקני  העם
ויעמד  אתם  סביבת
האהל׃
    VYTSh'a MShH VYDBUr 'aL-H'yM 'aTh DBUrY YHVH VY'aSPh ShB'yYM 'aYSh MZQNY H'yM VY'yMD 'aThM SBYBTh H'aHL.     And Moses goeth out, and speaketh unto the people the words of Jehovah, and gathereth seventy men of the elders of the people, and causeth them to stand round about the tent,     venit igitur Moses et narravit populo verba Domini congregans septuaginta viros de senibus Israhel quos stare fecit circa tabernaculum
 
25.    Yahweh came down in the cloud, and spoke to him, and took of the Spirit that was on him, and put it on the seventy elders: and it happened that when the Spirit rested on them, they prophesied, but they did so no more.     And the LORD came down in a cloud, and spake unto him, and took of the spirit that was upon him, and gave it unto the seventy elders: and it came to pass, that, when the spirit rested upon them, they prophesied, and did not cease.     וירד  יהוה  בענן 
וידבר  אליו  ויאצל
מן־הרוח  אשר  עליו
ויתן  על־  שבעים
איש  הזקנים  ויהי
כנוח  עליהם  הרוח
ויתנבאו  ולא  יספו׃
    VYUrD YHVH B'yNN VYDBUr 'aLYV VY'aTShL MN-HUrVCh 'aShUr 'yLYV VYThN 'yL- ShB'yYM 'aYSh HZQNYM VYHY KNVCh 'yLYHM HUrVCh VYThNB'aV VL'a YSPhV.     and Jehovah cometh down in the cloud, and speaketh unto him, and keepeth back of the Spirit which is on him, and putteth on the seventy men of the elders; and it cometh to pass at the resting of the Spirit on them, that they prophesy, and do not cease.     descenditque Dominus per nubem et locutus est ad eum auferens de spiritu qui erat in Mosen et dans septuaginta viris cumque requievisset in eis spiritus prophetaverunt nec ultra cessarunt
 
26.    But two men remained in the camp. The name of one was Eldad, and the name of the other Medad: and the Spirit rested on them; and they were of those who were written, but had not gone out to the Tent; and they prophesied in the camp.     But there remained two of the men in the camp, the name of the one was Eldad, and the name of the other Medad: and the spirit rested upon them; and they were of them that were written, but went not out unto the tabernacle: and they prophesied in the camp.     וישארו  שני־אנשים 
במחנה  שם  האחד
אלדד  ושם  השני
מידד  ותנח  עלהם
הרוח  והמה  בכתבים
ולא  יצאו  האהלה
ויתנבאו  במחנה׃
    VYSh'aUrV ShNY-'aNShYM BMChNH ShM H'aChD 'aLDD VShM HShNY MYDD VThNCh 'yLHM HUrVCh VHMH BKThBYM VL'a YTSh'aV H'aHLH VYThNB'aV BMChNH.     And two of the men are left in the camp, the name of the one is Eldad, and the name of the second Medad, and the spirit resteth upon them, (and they are among those written, and have not gone out to the tent), and they prophesy in the camp;     remanserant autem in castris duo viri quorum unus vocabatur Heldad et alter Medad super quos requievit spiritus nam et ipsi descripti fuerant et non exierant ad tabernaculum
 
27.    A young man ran, and told Moses, and said, "Eldad and Medad are prophesying in the camp!"     And there ran a young man, and told Moses, and said, Eldad and Medad do prophesy in the camp.     וירץ  הנער  ויגד 
למשה  ויאמר  אלדד
ומידד  מתנבאים
במחנה׃
    VYUrTSh HN'yUr VYGD LMShH VY'aMUr 'aLDD VMYDD MThNB'aYM BMChNH.     and the young man runneth, and declareth to Moses, and saith, `Eldad and Medad are prophesying in the camp.`     cumque prophetarent in castris cucurrit puer et nuntiavit Mosi dicens Heldad et Medad prophetant in castris
 
28.    Joshua the son of Nun, the servant of Moses, one of his chosen men, answered, "My lord Moses, forbid them!"     And Joshua the son of Nun, the servant of Moses, one of his young men, answered and said, My lord Moses, forbid them.     ויען  יהושע  בן־נון

29.    Moses said to him, "Are you jealous for my sake? I wish that all Yahweh's people were prophets, that Yahweh would put his Spirit on them!"     And Moses said unto him, Enviest thou for my sake? would God that all the LORD's people were prophets, and that the LORD would put his spirit upon them!     ויאמר  לו  משה 
המקנא  אתה  לי  ומי
יתן  כל־עם  יהוה
נביאים  כי־יתן
יהוה  את־רוחו
עליהם׃
    VY'aMUr LV MShH HMQN'a 'aThH LY VMY YThN KL-'yM YHVH NBY'aYM KY-YThN YHVH 'aTh-UrVChV 'yLYHM.     And Moses saith to him, `Art thou zealous for me? O that all Jehovah`s people were prophets! that Jehovah would put His Spirit upon them!`     at ille quid inquit aemularis pro me quis tribuat ut omnis populus prophetet et det eis Dominus spiritum suum
 
30.    Moses went into the camp, he and the elders of Israel.     And Moses gat him into the camp, he and the elders of Israel.     ויאסף  משה

    VY'aSPh MShH 'aL-HMChNH HV'a VZQNY YShUr'aL.     And Moses is gathered unto the camp, he and the elders of Israel.     reversusque est Moses et maiores natu Israhel in castra
 
31.    A wind from Yahweh went out and brought quails from the sea, and let them fall by the camp, about a day's journey on this side, and a day's journey on the other side, around the camp, and about two cubits above the surface of the earth.     And there went forth a wind from the LORD, and brought quails from the sea, and let them fall by the camp, as it were a day's journey on this side, and as it were a day's journey on the other side, round about the camp, and as it were two cubits high upon the face of the earth.     ורוח  נסע  מאת  יהוה

    VUrVCh NS'y M'aTh YHVH VYGZ ShLVYM MN-HYM VYTSh 'yL-HMChNH KDUrK YVM KH VKDUrK YVM KH SBYBVTh HMChNH VK'aMThYM 'yL-PhNY H'aUrTSh.     And a spirit hath journeyed from Jehovah, and cutteth off quails from the sea, and leaveth by the camp, as a day`s journey here, and as a day`s journey there, round about the camp, and about two cubits, on the face of the land.     ventus autem egrediens a Domino arreptas trans mare coturnices detulit et dimisit in castra itinere quantum uno die confici potest ex omni parte castrorum per circuitum volabantque in aere duobus cubitis altitudine super terram
 
32.    The people rose up all that day, and all the night, and all the next day, and gathered the quails. He who gathered least gathered ten homers;{1 homer is about 220 litres or 6 bushels} and they spread them all abroad for themselves around the camp.     And the people stood up all that day, and all that night, and all the next day, and they gathered the quails: he that gathered least gathered ten homers: and they spread them all abroad for themselves round about the camp.     ויקם  העם  כל־היום 
ההוא  וכל־הלילה
וכל  יום  המחרת
ויאספו  את־השלו
הממעיט  אסף  עשרה
חמרים  וישטחו  להם

    VYQM H'yM KL-HYVM HHV'a VKL-HLYLH VKL YVM HMChUrTh VY'aSPhV 'aTh-HShLV HMM'yYT 'aSPh 'yShUrH ChMUrYM VYShTChV LHM ShTVCh SBYBVTh HMChNH.     And the people rise all that day, and all the night, and all the day after, and gather the quails -- he who hath least hath gathered ten homers -- and they spread them out for themselves round about the camp.     surgens ergo populus toto die illo et nocte ac die altero congregavit coturnicum qui parum decem choros et siccaverunt eas per gyrum castrorum
 
33.    While the flesh was yet between their teeth, before it was chewed, the anger of Yahweh was kindled against the people, and Yahweh struck the people with a very great plague.     And while the flesh was yet between their teeth, ere it was chewed, the wrath of the LORD was kindled against the people, and the LORD smote the people with a very great plague.     הבשר  עודנו  בין 
שניהם  טרם  יכרת
ואף  יהוה  חרה  בעם
ויך  יהוה  בעם  מכה
רבה  מאד׃
    HBShUr 'yVDNV BYN ShNYHM TUrM YKUrTh V'aPh YHVH ChUrH B'yM VYK YHVH B'yM MKH UrBH M'aD.     The flesh is yet between their teeth -- it is not yet cut off -- and the anger of Jehovah hath burned among the people, and Jehovah smiteth among the people -- a very great smiting;     adhuc carnes erant in dentibus eorum nec defecerat huiuscemodi cibus et ecce furor Domini concitatus in populum percussit eum plaga magna nimis
 
34.    The name of that place was called Kibroth Hattaavah,{Kibroth Hattaavah means "graves of lust."} because there they buried the people who lusted.     And he called the name of that place Kibrothhattaavah: because there they buried the people that lusted.     ויקרא  את־שם־המקום 
ההוא  קברות  התאוה
כי־שם  קברו  את־העם
המתאוים׃
    VYQUr'a 'aTh-ShM-HMQVM HHV'a QBUrVTh HTh'aVH KY-ShM QBUrV 'aTh-H'yM HMTh'aVYM.     and one calleth the name of that place Kibroth-Hattaavah, for there they have buried the people who lust.     vocatusque est ille locus sepulchra Concupiscentiae ibi enim sepelierunt populum qui desideraverat egressi autem de sepulchris Concupiscentiae venerunt in Aseroth et manserunt ibi
 
35.    From Kibroth Hattaavah the people traveled to Hazeroth; and they stayed at Hazeroth.     And the people journeyed from Kibrothhattaavah unto Hazeroth; and abode at Hazeroth.     מקברות  התאוה  נסעו 
העם  חצרות  ויהיו
בחצרות׃
    MQBUrVTh HTh'aVH NS'yV H'yM ChTShUrVTh VYHYV BChTShUrVTh.     From Kibroth-Hattaavah have the people journeyed to Hazeroth, and they are in Hazeroth.
