1.    Let as many as are bondservants under the yoke count their own masters worthy of all honor, that the name of God and the doctrine not be blasphemed.     Let as many servants as are under the yoke count their own masters worthy of all honour, that the name of God and his doctrine be not blasphemed.     οσοι εισιν υπο ζυγον δουλοι τους ιδιους δεσποτας πασης τιμης αξιους ηγεισθωσαν ινα μη το ονομα του θεου και η διδασκαλια βλασφημηται     As many as are servants under a yoke, their own masters worthy of all honour let them reckon, that the name of God and the teaching may not be evil spoken of;     quicumque sunt sub iugo servi dominos suos omni honore dignos arbitrentur ne nomen Domini et doctrina blasphemetur
 
2.    Those who have believing masters, let them not despise them, because they are brothers, but rather let them serve them, because those who partake of the benefit are believing and beloved. Teach and exhort these things.     And they that have believing masters, let them not despise them, because they are brethren; but rather do them service, because they are faithful and beloved, partakers of the benefit. These things teach and exhort.     οι δε πιστους εχοντες δεσποτας μη καταφρονειτωσαν οτι αδελφοι εισιν αλλα μαλλον δουλευετωσαν οτι πιστοι εισιν και αγαπητοι οι της ευεργεσιας αντιλαμβανομενοι ταυτα διδασκε και παρακαλει     and those having believing masters, let them not slight them, because they are brethren, but rather let them serve, because they are stedfast and beloved, who of the benefit are partaking. These things be teaching and exhorting;     qui autem fideles habent dominos non contemnant quia fratres sunt sed magis serviant quia fideles sunt et dilecti qui beneficii participes sunt haec doce et exhortare
 
3.    If anyone teaches a different doctrine, and doesn't consent to sound words, the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which is according to godliness,     If any man teach otherwise, and consent not to wholesome words, even the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which is according to godliness;     ει τις ετεροδιδασκαλει και μη προσερχεται υγιαινουσιν λογοις τοις του κυριου ημων ιησου χριστου και τη κατ ευσεβειαν διδασκαλια     if any one be teaching otherwise, and do not consent to sound words -- those of our Lord Jesus Christ -- and to the teaching according to piety,     si quis aliter docet et non adquiescit sanis sermonibus Domini nostri Iesu Christi et ei quae secundum pietatem est doctrinae
 
4.    he is conceited, knowing nothing, but obsessed with arguments, disputes, and word battles, from which come envy, strife, insulting, evil suspicions,     He is proud, knowing nothing, but doting about questions and strifes of words, whereof cometh envy, strife, railings, evil surmisings,     τετυφωται μηδεν επισταμενος αλλα νοσων περι ζητησεις και λογομαχιας εξ ων γινεται φθονος ερις βλασφημιαι υπονοιαι πονηραι     he is proud, knowing nothing, but doting about questions and word-striving, out of which doth come envy, strife, evil-speakings, evil-surmisings,     superbus nihil sciens sed languens circa quaestiones et pugnas verborum ex quibus oriuntur invidiae contentiones blasphemiae suspiciones malae
 
5.    constant friction of people of corrupt minds and destitute of the truth, who suppose that godliness is a means of gain. Withdraw yourself from such.{NU omits "Withdraw yourself from such."}     Perverse disputings of men of corrupt minds, and destitute of the truth, supposing that gain is godliness: from such withdraw thyself.     διαπαρατριβαι διεφθαρμενων ανθρωπων τον νουν και απεστερημενων της αληθειας νομιζοντων πορισμον ειναι την ευσεβειαν      wranglings of men wholly corrupted in mind, and destitute of the truth, supposing the piety to be gain; depart from such;     conflictationes hominum mente corruptorum et qui veritate privati sunt existimantium quaestum esse pietatem
 
6.    But godliness with contentment is great gain.     But godliness with contentment is great gain.     εστιν δε πορισμος μεγας η ευσεβεια μετα αυταρκειας     but it is great gain -- the piety with contentment;     est autem quaestus magnus pietas cum sufficientia
 
7.    For we brought nothing into the world, and we certainly can't carry anything out.     For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out.     ουδεν γαρ εισηνεγκαμεν εις τον κοσμον οτι ουδε εξενεγκειν τι δυναμεθα     for nothing did we bring into the world -- it is manifest that we are able to carry nothing out;     nihil enim intulimus in mundum haut dubium quia nec auferre quid possumus
 
8.    But having food and clothing, we will be content with that.     And having food and raiment let us be therewith content.     εχοντες δε διατροφας και σκεπασματα τουτοις αρκεσθησομεθα     but having food and raiment -- with these we shall suffice ourselves;     habentes autem alimenta et quibus tegamur his contenti sumus
 
9.    But those who are determined to be rich fall into a temptation and a snare and many foolish and harmful lusts, such as drown men in ruin and destruction.     But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition.     οι δε βουλομενοι πλουτειν εμπιπτουσιν εις πειρασμον και παγιδα και επιθυμιας πολλας ανοητους και βλαβερας αιτινες βυθιζουσιν τους ανθρωπους εις ολεθρον και απωλειαν     and those wishing to be rich, do fall into temptation and a snare, and many desires, foolish and hurtful, that sink men into ruin and destruction,     nam qui volunt divites fieri incidunt in temptationem et laqueum et desideria multa inutilia et nociva quae mergunt homines in interitum et perditionem
 
10.    For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some have been led astray from the faith in their greed, and have pierced themselves through with many sorrows.     For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.     ριζα γαρ παντων των κακων εστιν η φιλαργυρια ης τινες ορεγομενοι απεπλανηθησαν απο της πιστεως και εαυτους περιεπειραν οδυναις πολλαις     for a root of all the evils is the love of money, which certain longing for did go astray from the faith, and themselves did pierce through with many sorrows;     radix enim omnium malorum est cupiditas quam quidam appetentes erraverunt a fide et inseruerunt se doloribus multis
 
11.    But you, man of God, flee these things, and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, and gentleness.     But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness.     συ δε ω ανθρωπε θεου ταυτα φευγε διωκε δε δικαιοσυνην ευσεβειαν πιστιν αγαπην υπομονην πραυπαθιαν     and thou, O man of God, these things flee, and pursue righteousness, piety, faith, love, endurance, meekness;     tu autem o homo Dei haec fuge sectare vero iustitiam pietatem fidem caritatem patientiam mansuetudinem
 
12.    Fight the good fight of faith. Lay hold of the eternal life to which you were called, and you confessed the good confession in the sight of many witnesses.     Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses.     αγωνιζου τον καλον αγωνα της πιστεως επιλαβου της αιωνιου ζωης εις ην εκληθης και ωμολογησας την καλην ομολογιαν ενωπιον πολλων μαρτυρων     be striving the good strife of the faith, be laying hold on the life age-during, to which also thou wast called, and didst profess the right profession before many witnesses.     certa bonum certamen fidei adprehende vitam aeternam in qua vocatus es et confessus bonam confessionem coram multis testibus
 
13.    I command you before God, who gives life to all things, and before Christ Jesus, who before Pontius Pilate testified the good confession,     I give thee charge in the sight of God, who quickeneth all things, and before Christ Jesus, who before Pontius Pilate witnessed a good confession;     παραγγελλω [σοι] ενωπιον του θεου του ζωογονουντοσ τα παντα και χριστου ιησου του μαρτυρησαντος επι ποντιου πιλατου την καλην ομολογιαν     I charge thee, before God, who is making all things alive, and of Christ Jesus, who did testify before Pontius Pilate the right profession,     praecipio tibi coram Deo qui vivificat omnia et Christo Iesu qui testimonium reddidit sub Pontio Pilato bonam confessionem
 
14.    that you keep the commandment without spot, blameless, until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ;     That thou keep this commandment without spot, unrebukeable, until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ:     τηρησαι σε την εντολην ασπιλον ανεπιλημπτον μεχρι της επιφανειας του κυριου ημων ιησου χριστου     that thou keep the command unspotted, unblameable, till the manifestation of our Lord Jesus Christ,     ut serves mandatum sine macula inreprehensibile usque in adventum Domini nostri Iesu Christi
 
15.    which in its own times he will show, who is the blessed and only Ruler, the King of kings, and Lord of lords;     Which in his times he shall shew, who is the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings, and Lord of lords;     ην καιροις ιδιοις δειξει ο μακαριος και μονος δυναστης ο βασιλευς των βασιλευοντων και κυριος των κυριευοντων     which in His own times He shall shew -- the blessed and only potentate, the King of the kings and Lord of the lords,     quem suis temporibus ostendet beatus et solus potens rex regum et Dominus dominantium
 
16.    who alone has immortality, dwelling in unapproachable light; whom no man has seen, nor can see: to whom be honor and eternal power. Amen.     Who only hath immortality, dwelling in the light which no man can approach unto; whom no man hath seen, nor can see: to whom be honour and power everlasting. Amen.     ο μονος εχων αθανασιαν φως οικων απροσιτον ον ειδεν ουδεις ανθρωπων ουδε ιδειν δυναται ω τιμη και κρατος αιωνιον αμην     who only is having immortality, dwelling in light unapproachable, whom no one of men did see, nor is able to see, to whom is honour and might age-during! Amen.     qui solus habet inmortalitatem lucem habitans inaccessibilem quem vidit nullus hominum sed nec videre potest cui honor et imperium sempiternum amen
 
17.    Charge those who are rich in this present world that they not be haughty, nor have their hope set on the uncertainty of riches, but on the living God, who richly provides us with everything to enjoy;     Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not highminded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy;     τοις πλουσιοις εν τω νυν αιωνι παραγγελλε μη υψηλοφρονειν μηδε ηλπικεναι επι πλουτου αδηλοτητι αλλ επι  θεω  τω παρεχοντι ημιν παντα πλουσιωσ εις απολαυσιν     Those rich in the present age charge thou not to be high-minded, nor to hope in the uncertainty of riches, but in the living God, who is giving to us all things richly for enjoyment; --     divitibus huius saeculi praecipe non sublime sapere neque sperare in incerto divitiarum sed in Deo qui praestat nobis omnia abunde ad fruendum

20.    Timothy, guard that which is committed to you, turning away from the empty chatter and oppositions of the knowledge which is falsely so called;     O Timothy, keep that which is committed to thy trust, avoiding profane and vain babblings, and oppositions of science falsely so called:     ω τιμοθεε την παραθηκην φυλαξον εκτρεπομενος τας βεβηλους κενοφωνιας και αντιθεσεις της ψευδωνυμου γνωσεως     O Timotheus, the thing entrusted guard thou, avoiding the profane vain-words and opposition of the falsely-named knowledge,     o Timothee depositum custodi devitans profanas vocum novitates et oppositiones falsi nominis scientiae
