1.    But know this, that in the last days, grievous times will come.     This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.     τουτο δε γινωσκε οτι εν εσχαταις ημεραις ενστησονται καιροι χαλεποι     And this know thou, that in the last days there shall come perilous times,     hoc autem scito quod in novissimis diebus instabunt tempora periculosa
 
2.    For men will be lovers of self, lovers of money, boastful, arrogant, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,     For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,     εσονται γαρ οι ανθρωποι φιλαυτοι φιλαργυροι αλαζονες υπερηφανοι βλασφημοι γονευσιν απειθεις αχαριστοι ανοσιοι     for men shall be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, evil-speakers, to parents disobedient, unthankful, unkind,     et erunt homines se ipsos amantes cupidi elati superbi blasphemi parentibus inoboedientes ingrati scelesti
 
3.    without natural affection, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, fierce, no lovers of good,     Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,     αστοργοι ασπονδοι διαβολοι ακρατεις ανημεροι αφιλαγαθοι     without natural affection, implacable, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, not lovers of those who are good,     sine affectione sine pace criminatores incontinentes inmites sine benignitate
 
4.    traitors, headstrong, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God;     Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;     προδοται προπετεις τετυφωμενοι φιληδονοι μαλλον η φιλοθεοι     traitors, heady, lofty, lovers of pleasure more than lovers of God,     proditores protervi tumidi voluptatium amatores magis quam Dei
 
5.    holding a form of godliness, but having denied its power. Turn away from these, also.     Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.     εχοντες μορφωσιν ευσεβειας την δε δυναμιν αυτης ηρνημενοι και τουτους αποτρεπου     having a form of piety, and its power having denied; and from these be turning away,     habentes speciem quidem pietatis virtutem autem eius abnegantes et hos devita
 
6.    For some of these are people who creep into houses, and take captive gullible women loaded down with sins, led away by various lusts,     For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts,     εκ τουτων γαρ εισιν οι ενδυνοντες εις τας οικιας και αιχμαλωτιζοντεσ  γυναικαρια σεσωρευμενα αμαρτιαις αγομενα επιθυμιαις ποικιλαις     for of these there are those coming into the houses and leading captive the silly women, laden with sins, led away with desires manifold,     ex his enim sunt qui penetrant domos et captivas ducunt mulierculas oneratas peccatis quae ducuntur variis desideriis
 
7.    always learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.     Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.     παντοτε μανθανοντα και μηδεποτε εις επιγνωσιν αληθειας ελθειν δυναμενα     always learning, and never to a knowledge of truth able to come,     semper discentes et numquam ad scientiam veritatis pervenientes
 
8.    Even as Jannes and Jambres opposed Moses, so do these also oppose the truth; men corrupted in mind, who concerning the faith, are rejected.     Now as Jannes and Jambres withstood Moses, so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, reprobate concerning the faith.     ον τροπον δε ιαννης και ιαμβρης αντεστησαν μωυσει ουτως και ουτοι ανθιστανται τη αληθεια ανθρωποι κατεφθαρμενοι τον νουν αδοκιμοι περι την πιστιν     and, even as Jannes and Jambres stood against Moses, so also these do stand against the truth, men corrupted in mind, disapproved concerning the faith;     quemadmodum autem Iannes et Mambres restiterunt Mosi ita et hii resistunt veritati homines corrupti mente reprobi circa fidem
 
9.    But they will proceed no further. For their folly will be evident to all men, as theirs also came to be.     But they shall proceed no further: for their folly shall be manifest unto all men, as theirs also was.     αλλ ου προκοψουσιν επι πλειον η γαρ ανοια αυτων εκδηλος εσται πασιν ως και η εκεινων εγενετο     but they shall not advance any further, for their folly shall be manifest to all, as theirs also did become.     sed ultra non proficient insipientia enim eorum manifesta erit omnibus sicut et illorum fuit
 
10.    But you did follow my teaching, conduct, purpose, faith, patience, love, steadfastness,     But thou hast fully known my doctrine, manner of life, purpose, faith, longsuffering, charity, patience,     συ δε παρηκολουθησασ μου τη διδασκαλια τη αγωγη τη προθεσει τη πιστει τη μακροθυμια τη αγαπη τη υπομονη     And thou -- thou hast followed after my teaching, manner of life, purpose, faith, long-suffering, love, endurance,     tu autem adsecutus es meam doctrinam institutionem propositum fidem longanimitatem dilectionem patientiam
 
11.    persecutions, and sufferings: those things that happened to me at Antioch, Iconium, and Lystra. I endured those persecutions. Out of them all the Lord delivered me.     Persecutions, afflictions, which came unto me at Antioch, at Iconium, at Lystra; what persecutions I endured: but out of them all the Lord delivered me.     τοις διωγμοις τοις παθημασιν οια μοι εγενετο εν αντιοχεια εν ικονιω εν λυστροις οιους διωγμους υπηνεγκα και εκ παντων με ερρυσατο ο κυριος     the persecutions, the afflictions, that befel me in Antioch, in Iconium, in Lystra; what persecutions I endured, and out of all the Lord did deliver me,     persecutiones passiones qualia mihi facta sunt Antiochiae Iconii Lystris quales persecutiones sustinui et ex omnibus me eripuit Dominus
 
12.    Yes, and all who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution.     Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.     και παντες δε οι θελοντες ευσεβως ζην εν χριστω ιησου διωχθησονται     and all also who will to live piously in Christ Jesus shall be persecuted,     et omnes qui volunt pie vivere in Christo Iesu persecutionem patientur
 
13.    But evil men and impostors will grow worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived.     But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived.     πονηροι δε ανθρωποι και γοητες προκοψουσιν επι το χειρον πλανωντες και πλανωμενοι     and evil men and impostors shall advance to the worse, leading astray and being led astray.     mali autem homines et seductores proficient in peius errantes et in errorem mittentes
 
14.    But you remain in the things which you have learned and have been assured of, knowing from whom you have learned them.     But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them;     συ δε μενε εν οις εμαθες και επιστωθης ειδως παρα τινων εμαθες     And thou -- be remaining in the things which thou didst learn and wast entrusted with, having known from whom thou didst learn,     tu vero permane in his quae didicisti et credita sunt tibi sciens a quo didiceris
 
15.    From infancy, you have known the holy Scriptures which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith, which is in Christ Jesus.     And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.     και οτι απο βρεφους [τα] ιερα γραμματα οιδας τα δυναμενα σε σοφισαι εις σωτηριαν δια πιστεως της εν χριστω ιησου     and because from a babe the Holy Writings thou hast known, which are able to make thee wise -- to salvation, through faith that is in Christ Jesus;     et quia ab infantia sacras litteras nosti quae te possint instruere ad salutem per fidem quae est in Christo Iesu
 
16.    Every Scripture is God-breathed and{or, Every writing inspired by God is} profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for instruction in righteousness,     All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:     πασα γραφη θεοπνευστος και ωφελιμος προς διδασκαλιαν προς ελεγμον προς επανορθωσιν προς παιδειαν την εν δικαιοσυνη     every Writing is God-breathed, and profitable for teaching, for conviction, for setting aright, for instruction that is in righteousness,     omnis scriptura divinitus inspirata et utilis ad docendum ad arguendum ad corrigendum ad erudiendum in iustitia
 
17.    that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.     That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.     ινα αρτιος η ο του θεου ανθρωπος προς παν εργον αγαθον εξηρτισμενος     that the man of God may be fitted -- for every good work having been completed.     ut perfectus sit homo Dei ad omne opus bonum instructus
