    VY'aSPh YHVSh'y 'aTh-KL-ShBTY YShUr'aL ShKMH VYQUr'a LZQNY YShUr'aL VLUr'aShYV VLShPhTYV VLShTUrYV VYThYTShBV LPhNY H'aLHYM.     And Joshua gathereth all the tribes of Israel to Shechem, and calleth for the elders of Israel, and for its heads, and for its judges, and for its authorities, and they station themselves before God.     congregavitque Iosue omnes tribus Israhel in Sychem et vocavit maiores natu ac principes et iudices et magistros steteruntque in conspectu Domini
 
2.    Joshua said to all the people, "Thus says Yahweh, the God of Israel, 'Your fathers lived of old time beyond the River, even Terah, the father of Abraham, and the father of Nahor: and they served other gods.     And Joshua said unto all the people, Thus saith the LORD God of Israel, Your fathers dwelt on the other side of the flood in old time, even Terah, the father of Abraham, and the father of Nachor: and they served other gods.     ויאמר  יהושע 
אל־כל־העם  כה־אמר
יהוה  אלהי  ישראל
בעבר  הנהר  ישבו
אבותיכם  מעולם  תרח
אבי  אברהם  ואבי
נחור  ויעבדו  אלהים
אחרים׃
    VY'aMUr YHVSh'y 'aL-KL-H'yM KH-'aMUr YHVH 'aLHY YShUr'aL B'yBUr HNHUr YShBV 'aBVThYKM M'yVLM ThUrCh 'aBY 'aBUrHM V'aBY NChVUr VY'yBDV 'aLHYM 'aChUrYM.     And Joshua saith unto all the people, `Thus said Jehovah, God of Israel, Beyond the River have your fathers dwelt of old -- Terah father of Abraham and father of Nachor -- and they serve other gods;     et ad populum sic locutus est haec dicit Dominus Deus Israhel trans fluvium habitaverunt patres vestri ab initio Thare pater Abraham et Nahor servieruntque diis alienis
 
3.    I took your father Abraham from beyond the River, and led him throughout all the land of Canaan, and multiplied his seed, and gave him Isaac.     And I took your father Abraham from the other side of the flood, and led him throughout all the land of Canaan, and multiplied his seed, and gave him Isaac.     ואקח  את־אביכם

    V'aQCh 'aTh-'aBYKM 'aTh-'aBUrHM M'yBUr HNHUr V'aVLK 'aVThV BKL-'aUrTSh KN'yN V'aUrB 'aTh-ZUr'yV V'aThN-LV 'aTh-YTShChQ.     and I take your father Abraham from beyond the River, and cause him to go through all the land of Canaan, and multiply his seed, and give to him Isaac.     tuli ergo patrem vestrum Abraham de Mesopotamiae finibus et adduxi eum in terram Chanaan multiplicavique semen eius
 
4.    I gave to Isaac Jacob and Esau: and I gave to Esau Mount Seir, to possess it. Jacob and his children went down into Egypt.     And I gave unto Isaac Jacob and Esau: and I gave unto Esau mount Seir, to possess it; but Jacob and his children went down into Egypt.     ואתן  ליצחק

    V'aThN LYTShChQ 'aTh-Y'yQB V'aTh-'yShV V'aThN L'yShV 'aTh-HUr Sh'yYUr LUrShTh 'aVThV VY'yQB VBNYV YUrDV MTShUrYM.     And I give to Isaac, Jacob and Esau; and I give to Esau mount Seir, to possess it; and Jacob and his sons have gone down to Egypt.     et dedi ei Isaac illique rursum dedi Iacob et Esau e quibus Esau dedi montem Seir ad possidendum Iacob vero et filii eius descenderunt in Aegyptum
 
5.    "'I sent Moses and Aaron, and I plagued Egypt, according to that which I did in its midst: and afterward I brought you out.     I sent Moses also and Aaron, and I plagued Egypt, according to that which I did among them: and afterward I brought you out.     ואשלח  את־משה 
ואת־אהרן  ואגף
את־מצרים  כאשר
עשיתי  בקרבו  ואחר
הוצאתי  אתכם׃
    V'aShLCh 'aTh-MShH V'aTh-'aHUrN V'aGPh 'aTh-MTShUrYM K'aShUr 'yShYThY BQUrBV V'aChUr HVTSh'aThY 'aThKM.     And I send Moses and Aaron, and plague Egypt, as I have done in its midst, and afterwards I have brought you out.     misique Mosen et Aaron et percussi Aegyptum multis signis atque portentis
 
6.    I brought your fathers out of Egypt: and you came to the sea. The Egyptians pursued after your fathers with chariots and with horsemen to the Red Sea{or, Sea of Reeds}.     And I brought your fathers out of Egypt: and ye came unto the sea; and the Egyptians pursued after your fathers with chariots and horsemen unto the Red sea.     ואוציא  את־אבותיכם 
ממצרים  ותבאו  הימה
וירדפו  מצרים  אחרי
אבותיכם  ברכב
ובפרשים  ים־סוף׃
    V'aVTShY'a 'aTh-'aBVThYKM MMTShUrYM VThB'aV HYMH VYUrDPhV MTShUrYM 'aChUrY 'aBVThYKM BUrKB VBPhUrShYM YM-SVPh.     And I bring out your fathers from Egypt, and ye go into the sea, and the Egyptians pursue after your fathers, with chariot and with horsemen, to the Red Sea;     eduxique vos et patres vestros de Aegypto et venistis ad mare persecutique sunt Aegyptii patres vestros cum curribus et equitatu usque ad mare Rubrum
 
7.    When they cried out to Yahweh, he put darkness between you and the Egyptians, and brought the sea on them, and covered them; and your eyes saw what I did in Egypt: and you lived in the wilderness many days.     And when they cried unto the LORD, he put darkness between you and the Egyptians, and brought the sea upon them, and covered them; and your eyes have seen what I have done in Egypt: and ye dwelt in the wilderness a long season.     ויצעקו  אל־יהוה 
וישם  מאפל  ביניכם
ובין  המצרים  ויבא
עליו  את־הים
ויכסהו  ותראינה
עיניכם  את
אשר־עשיתי  במצרים
ותשבו  במדבר  ימים
רבים׃
    VYTSh'yQV 'aL-YHVH VYShM M'aPhL BYNYKM VBYN HMTShUrYM VYB'a 'yLYV 'aTh-HYM VYKSHV VThUr'aYNH 'yYNYKM 'aTh 'aShUr-'yShYThY BMTShUrYM VThShBV BMDBUr YMYM UrBYM.     and they cry unto Jehovah, and He setteth thick darkness between you and the Egyptians, and bringeth on them the sea, and covereth them, and your eyes see that which I have done in Egypt; and ye dwell in a wilderness many days.     clamaverunt autem ad Dominum filii Israhel qui posuit tenebras inter vos et Aegyptios et adduxit super eos mare et operuit illos viderunt oculi vestri cuncta quae in Aegypto fecerim et habitastis in solitudine multo tempore
 
8.    "'I brought you into the land of the Amorites, that lived beyond the Jordan: and they fought with you; and I gave them into your hand. You possessed their land; and I destroyed them from before you.     And I brought you into the land of the Amorites, which dwelt on the other side Jordan; and they fought with you: and I gave them into your hand, that ye might possess their land; and I destroyed them from before you.     ואבאה  אתכם  אל־ארץ 
האמרי  היושב  בעבר
הירדן  וילחמו  אתכם
ואתן  אותם  בידכם
ותירשו  את־ארצם
ואשמידם  מפניכם׃
    V'aB'aH 'aThKM 'aL-'aUrTSh H'aMUrY HYVShB B'yBUr HYUrDN VYLChMV 'aThKM V'aThN 'aVThM BYDKM VThYUrShV 'aTh-'aUrTShM V'aShMYDM MPhNYKM.     `And I bring you in unto the land of the Amorite who is dwelling beyond the Jordan, and they fight with you, and I give them into your hand, and ye possess their land, and I destroy them out of your presence.     et introduxi vos ad terram Amorrei qui habitabat trans Iordanem cumque pugnarent contra vos tradidi eos in manus vestras et possedistis terram eorum atque interfecistis illos
 
9.    Then Balak the son of Zippor, king of Moab, arose and fought against Israel. He sent and called Balaam the son of Beor to curse you;     Then Balak the son of Zippor, king of Moab, arose and warred against Israel, and sent and called Balaam the son of Beor to curse you:     ויקם  בלק  בן־צפור 
מלך  מואב  וילחם
בישראל  וישלח
ויקרא  לבלעם  בן־
בעור  לקלל  אתכם׃
    VYQM BLQ BN-TShPhVUr MLK MV'aB VYLChM BYShUr'aL VYShLCh VYQUr'a LBL'yM BN- B'yVUr LQLL 'aThKM.     `And Balak son of Zippor, king of Moab, riseth and fighteth against Israel, and sendeth and calleth for Balaam son of Beor, to revile you,     surrexit autem Balac filius Sepphor rex Moab et pugnavit contra Israhelem misitque et vocavit Balaam filium Beor ut malediceret vobis
 
10.    but I would not listen to Balaam; therefore he blessed you still. So I delivered you out of his hand.     But I would not hearken unto Balaam; therefore he blessed you still: so I delivered you out of his hand.     ולא  אביתי  לשמע 
לבלעם  ויברך  ברוך
אתכם  ואצל  אתכם
מידו׃
    VL'a 'aBYThY LShM'y LBL'yM VYBUrK BUrVK 'aThKM V'aTShL 'aThKM MYDV.     and I have not been willing to hearken to Balaam, and he doth greatly bless you, and I deliver you out of his hand.     et ego nolui audire eum sed e contrario per illum benedixi vobis et liberavi vos de manu eius
 
11.    "'You went over the Jordan, and came to Jericho. The men of Jericho fought against you, the Amorite, the Perizzite, the Canaanite, the Hittite, the Girgashite, the Hivite, and the Jebusite; and I delivered them into your hand.     And ye went over Jordan, and came unto Jericho: and the men of Jericho fought against you, the Amorites, and the Perizzites, and the Canaanites, and the Hittites, and the Girgashites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites; and I delivered them into your hand.     ותעברו  את־הירדן 
ותבאו  אל־יריחו
וילחמו  בכם
בעלי־יריחו  האמרי
והפרזי  והכנעני
והחתי  והגרגשי
החוי  והיבוסי  ואתן
אותם  בידכם׃
    VTh'yBUrV 'aTh-HYUrDN VThB'aV 'aL-YUrYChV VYLChMV BKM B'yLY-YUrYChV H'aMUrY VHPhUrZY VHKN'yNY VHChThY VHGUrGShY HChVY VHYBVSY V'aThN 'aVThM BYDKM.     `And ye pass over the Jordan, and come in unto Jericho, and fight against you do the possessors of Jericho -- the Amorite, and the Perizzite, and the Canaanite, and the Hittite, and the Girgashite, the Hivite, and the Jebusite -- and I give them into your hand.     transistisque Iordanem et venistis ad Hiericho pugnaveruntque contra vos viri civitatis eius Amorreus et Ferezeus et Chananeus et Hettheus et Gergeseus et Eveus et Iebuseus et tradidi illos in manus vestras
 
12.    I sent the hornet before you, which drove them out from before you, even the two kings of the Amorites; not with your sword, nor with your bow.     And I sent the hornet before you, which drave them out from before you, even the two kings of the Amorites; but not with thy sword, nor with thy bow.     ואשלח  לפניכם 
את־הצרעה  ותגרש
אותם  מפניכם  שני
מלכי  האמרי  לא
בחרבך  ולא  בקשתך׃
    V'aShLCh LPhNYKM 'aTh-HTShUr'yH VThGUrSh 'aVThM MPhNYKM ShNY MLKY H'aMUrY L'a BChUrBK VL'a BQShThK.     And I send before you the hornet, and it casteth them out from your presence -- two kings of the Amorite -- not by thy sword, nor by thy bow.     misique ante vos crabrones et eieci eos de locis suis duos reges Amorreorum non in gladio et arcu tuo
 
13.    I gave you a land whereon you had not labored, and cities which you didn't build, and you live in them. You eat of vineyards and olive groves which you didn't plant.'     And I have given you a land for which ye did not labour, and cities which ye built not, and ye dwell in them; of the vineyards and oliveyards which ye planted not do ye eat.     ואתן  לכם  ארץ  אשר 
לא־יגעת  בה  וערים
אשר  לא־בניתם
ותשבו  בהם  כרמים
וזיתים  אשר
לא־נטעתם  אתם
אכלים׃
    V'aThN LKM 'aUrTSh 'aShUr L'a-YG'yTh BH V'yUrYM 'aShUr L'a-BNYThM VThShBV BHM KUrMYM VZYThYM 'aShUr L'a-NT'yThM 'aThM 'aKLYM.     `And I give to you a land for which thou hast not laboured, and cities which ye have not built, and ye dwell in them; of vineyards and olive-yards which ye have not planted ye are eating.     dedique vobis terram in qua non laborastis et urbes quas non aedificastis ut habitaretis in eis vineas et oliveta quae non plantastis
 
14.    "Now therefore fear Yahweh, and serve him in sincerity and in truth. Put away the gods which your fathers served beyond the River, in Egypt; and serve Yahweh.     Now therefore fear the LORD, and serve him in sincerity and in truth: and put away the gods which your fathers served on the other side of the flood, and in Egypt; and serve ye the LORD.     ועתה  יראו  את־יהוה 
ועבדו  אתו  בתמים
ובאמת  והסירו
את־אלהים  אשר  עבדו
אבותיכם  בעבר  הנהר
ובמצרים  ועבדו
את־יהוה׃
    V'yThH YUr'aV 'aTh-YHVH V'yBDV 'aThV BThMYM VB'aMTh VHSYUrV 'aTh-'aLHYM 'aShUr 'yBDV 'aBVThYKM B'yBUr HNHUr VBMTShUrYM V'yBDV 'aTh-YHVH.     `And now, fear ye Jehovah, and serve Him, in perfection and in truth, and turn aside the gods which your fathers served beyond the River, and in Egypt, and serve ye Jehovah;     nunc ergo timete Dominum et servite ei perfecto corde atque verissimo et auferte deos quibus servierunt patres vestri in Mesopotamia et in Aegypto ac servite Domino
 
15.    If it seems evil to you to serve Yahweh, choose this day whom you will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve Yahweh."     And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.     ואם  רע  בעיניכם 
לעבד  את־יהוה  בחרו
לכם  היום  את־מי
תעבדון  אם  את־
אלהים  אשר־עבדו
אבותיכם  אשר  בעבר
הנהר  ואם  את־אלהי
האמרי  אשר  אתם

    V'aM Ur'y B'yYNYKM L'yBD 'aTh-YHVH BChUrV LKM HYVM 'aTh-MY Th'yBDVN 'aM 'aTh- 'aLHYM 'aShUr-'yBDV 'aBVThYKM 'aShUr B'yBUr HNHUr V'aM 'aTh-'aLHY H'aMUrY 'aShUr 'aThM YShBYM B'aUrTShM V'aNKY VBYThY N'yBD 'aTh-YHVH.     and if wrong in your eyes to serve Jehovah -- choose for you to-day whom ye do serve; -- whether the gods whom your fathers served, which are beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorite in whose land ye are dwelling; and I and my house -- we serve Jehovah.`     sin autem malum vobis videtur ut Domino serviatis optio vobis datur eligite hodie quod placet cui potissimum servire debeatis utrum diis quibus servierunt patres vestri in Mesopotamia an diis Amorreorum in quorum terra habitatis ego autem et domus mea serviemus Domino
 
16.    The people answered, "Far be it from us that we should forsake Yahweh, to serve other gods;     And the people answered and said, God forbid that we should forsake the LORD, to serve other gods;     ויען  העם  ויאמר 
חלילה  לנו  מעזב
את־יהוה  לעבד
אלהים  אחרים׃
    VY'yN H'yM VY'aMUr ChLYLH LNV M'yZB 'aTh-YHVH L'yBD 'aLHYM 'aChUrYM.     And the people answer and say, `Far be it from us to forsake Jehovah, to serve other gods;     responditque populus et ait absit a nobis ut relinquamus Dominum et serviamus diis alienis
 
17.    for it is Yahweh our God who brought us and our fathers up out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage, and who did those great signs in our sight, and preserved us in all the way in which we went, and among all the peoples through the midst of whom we passed.     For the LORD our God, he it is that brought us up and our fathers out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage, and which did those great signs in our sight, and preserved us in all the way wherein we went, and among all the people through whom we passed:     כי  יהוה  אלהינו 
הוא  המעלה  אתנו
ואת־אבותינו  מארץ
מצרים  מבית  עבדים
ואשר  עשה  לעינינו
את־האתות  הגדלות
האלה  וישמרנו
בכל־הדרך  אשר

העמים  אשר  עברנו
בקרבם׃
    KY YHVH 'aLHYNV HV'a HM'yLH 'aThNV V'aTh-'aBVThYNV M'aUrTSh MTShUrYM MBYTh 'yBDYM V'aShUr 'yShH L'yYNYNV 'aTh-H'aThVTh HGDLVTh H'aLH VYShMUrNV BKL-HDUrK 'aShUr HLKNV BH VBKL H'yMYM 'aShUr 'yBUrNV BQUrBM.     for Jehovah our God is He who is bringing us and our fathers up out of the land of Egypt, out of a house of servants, and who hath done before our eyes these great signs, and doth keep us in all the way in which we have gone, and among all the peoples through whose midst we passed;     Dominus Deus noster ipse eduxit nos et patres nostros de terra Aegypti de domo servitutis fecitque videntibus nobis signa ingentia et custodivit nos in omni via per quam ambulavimus et in cunctis populis per quos transivimus
 
18.    Yahweh drove out from before us all the peoples, even the Amorites who lived in the land. Therefore we also will serve Yahweh; for he is our God."     And the LORD drave out from before us all the people, even the Amorites which dwelt in the land: therefore will we also serve the LORD; for he is our God.     ויגרש  יהוה 
את־כל־העמים
ואת־האמרי  ישב
הארץ  מפנינו
גם־אנחנו  נעבד
את־יהוה  כי־הוא
אלהינו׃
    VYGUrSh YHVH 'aTh-KL-H'yMYM V'aTh-H'aMUrY YShB H'aUrTSh MPhNYNV GM-'aNChNV N'yBD 'aTh-YHVH KY-HV'a 'aLHYNV.     and Jehovah casteth out the whole of the peoples, even the Amorite inhabiting the land, from our presence; we also do serve Jehovah, for He is our God.`     et eiecit universas gentes Amorreum habitatorem terrae quam nos intravimus serviemus igitur Domino quia ipse est Deus noster
 
19.    Joshua said to the people, "You can't serve Yahweh; for he is a holy God. He is a jealous God. He will not forgive your disobedience nor your sins.     And Joshua said unto the people, Ye cannot serve the LORD: for he is an holy God; he is a jealous God; he will not forgive your transgressions nor your sins.     ויאמר  יהושע 
אל־העם  לא  תוכלו
לעבד  את־יהוה
כי־אלהים  קדשים
הוא  אל־קנוא  הוא
לא־ישא  לפשעכם
ולחטאותיכם׃
    VY'aMUr YHVSh'y 'aL-H'yM L'a ThVKLV L'yBD 'aTh-YHVH KY-'aLHYM QDShYM HV'a 'aL-QNV'a HV'a L'a-YSh'a LPhSh'yKM VLChT'aVThYKM.     And Joshua saith unto the people, `Ye are not able to serve Jehovah, for a God most holy He is; a zealous God He is; He doth not bear with your transgression and with your sins.     dixitque Iosue ad populum non poteritis servire Domino Deus enim sanctus et fortis aemulator est nec ignoscet sceleribus vestris atque peccatis
 
20.    If you forsake Yahweh, and serve foreign gods, then he will turn and do you evil, and consume you, after he has done you good."     If ye forsake the LORD, and serve strange gods, then he will turn and do you hurt, and consume you, after that he hath done you good.     כי  תעזבו  את־יהוה 
ועבדתם  אלהי  נכר
ושב  והרע  לכם  וכלה
אתכם  אחרי
אשר־היטיב  לכם׃
    KY Th'yZBV 'aTh-YHVH V'yBDThM 'aLHY NKUr VShB VHUr'y LKM VKLH 'aThKM 'aChUrY 'aShUr-HYTYB LKM.     When ye forsake Jehovah, and have served gods of a stranger, then He hath turned back and done evil to you, and consumed you, after that He hath done good to you.`     si dimiseritis Dominum et servieritis diis alienis convertet se et adfliget vos atque subvertet postquam vobis praestiterit bona
 
21.    The people said to Joshua, "No; but we will serve Yahweh."     And the people said unto Joshua, Nay; but we will serve the LORD.     ויאמר  העם 
אל־יהושע  לא  כי
את־יהוה  נעבד׃
    VY'aMUr H'yM 'aL-YHVSh'y L'a KY 'aTh-YHVH N'yBD.     And the people saith unto Joshua, `No, but Jehovah we do serve.`     dixitque populus ad Iosue nequaquam ita ut loqueris erit sed Domino serviemus
 
22.    Joshua said to the people, "You are witnesses against yourselves that you have chosen Yahweh yourselves, to serve him." They said, "We are witnesses."     And Joshua said unto the people, Ye are witnesses against yourselves that ye have chosen you the LORD, to serve him. And they said, We are witnesses.     ויאמר  יהושע 
אל־העם  עדים  אתם
בכם  כי־אתם  בחרתם
לכם  את־יהוה  לעבד
אותו  ויאמרו  עדים׃
    VY'aMUr YHVSh'y 'aL-H'yM 'yDYM 'aThM BKM KY-'aThM BChUrThM LKM 'aTh-YHVH L'yBD 'aVThV VY'aMUrV 'yDYM.     And Joshua saith unto the people, `Witnesses ye are against yourselves, that ye have chosen for you Jehovah to serve Him (and they say, `Witnesses!`)     et Iosue ad populum testes inquit vos estis quia ipsi elegeritis vobis Dominum ut serviatis ei responderuntque testes
 
23.    "Now therefore put away the foreign gods which are among you, and incline your heart to Yahweh, the God of Israel."     Now therefore put away, said he, the strange gods which are among you, and incline your heart unto the LORD God of Israel.     ועתה  הסירו 
את־אלהי  הנכר  אשר
בקרבכם  והטו
את־לבבכם  אל־יהוה
אלהי  ישראל׃
    V'yThH HSYUrV 'aTh-'aLHY HNKUr 'aShUr BQUrBKM VHTV 'aTh-LBBKM 'aL-YHVH 'aLHY YShUr'aL.     and, now, turn aside the gods of the stranger which are in your midst, and incline your heart unto Jehovah, God of Israel.`     nunc ergo ait auferte deos alienos de medio vestrum et inclinate corda vestra ad Dominum Deum Israhel
 
24.    The people said to Joshua, "We will serve Yahweh our God, and we will listen to his voice."     And the people said unto Joshua, The LORD our God will we serve, and his voice will we obey.     ויאמרו  העם 
אל־יהושע  את־יהוה
אלהינו  נעבד
ובקולו  נשמע׃

27.    Joshua said to all the people, "Behold, this stone shall be a witness against us; for it has heard all the words of Yahweh which he spoke to us. It shall be therefore a witness against you, lest you deny your God."     And Joshua said unto all the people, Behold, this stone shall be a witness unto us; for it hath heard all the words of the LORD which he spake unto us: it shall be therefore a witness unto you, lest ye deny your God.     ויאמר  יהושע

28.    So Joshua sent the people away, every man to his inheritance.     So Joshua let the people depart, every man unto his inheritance.     וישלח  יהושע

29.    It happened after these things, that Joshua the son of Nun, the servant of Yahweh, died, being one hundred and ten years old.     And it came to pass after these things, that Joshua the son of Nun, the servant of the LORD, died, being an hundred and ten years old.     ויהי  אחרי  הדברים

31.    Israel served Yahweh all the days of Joshua, and all the days of the elders who outlived Joshua, and had known all the work of Yahweh, that he had worked for Israel.     And Israel served the LORD all the days of Joshua, and all the days of the elders that overlived Joshua, and which had known all the works of the LORD, that he had done for Israel.     ויעבד  ישראל

32.    They buried the bones of Joseph, which the children of Israel brought up out of Egypt, in Shechem, in the parcel of ground which Jacob bought of the sons of Hamor the father of Shechem for a hundred pieces of money. They became the inheritance of the children of Joseph.     And the bones of Joseph, which the children of Israel brought up out of Egypt, buried they in Shechem, in a parcel of ground which Jacob bought of the sons of Hamor the father of Shechem for an hundred pieces of silver: and it became the inheritance of the children of Joseph.     ואת־עצמות  יוסף

33.    Eleazar the son of Aaron died. They buried him in the hill of Phinehas his son, which was given him in the hill country of Ephraim.     And Eleazar the son of Aaron died; and they buried him in a hill that pertained to Phinehas his son, which was given him in mount Ephraim.     ואלעזר  בן־אהרן  מת
