| 1. | Yahweh said to Joshua, "Don't be afraid, neither be dismayed. Take all the people of war with you, and arise, go up to Ai. VYTShV 'aThM L'aMUr Ur'aV 'aThM 'aUrBYM L'yYUr M'aChUrY H'yYUr 'aL-ThUrChYQV MN-H'yYUr M'aD VHYYThM KLKM NKNYM. | and commandeth them, saying, `See, ye are liers in wait against the city, at the rear of the city, ye go not very far off from the city, and all of you have been prepared, | praecepitque eis dicens ponite insidias post civitatem nec longius recedatis et eritis omnes parati | |||||

V'aNY VKL-H'yM 'aShUr 'aThY NQUrB 'aL-H'yYUr VHYH KY-YTSh'aV LQUr'aThNV K'aShUr BUr'aShNH VNSNV LPhNYHM. | and I and all the people who are with me draw near unto the city, and it hath come to pass when they come out to meet us as at the first, and we have fled before them, | ego autem et reliqua multitudo quae mecum est accedemus ex adverso contra urbem cumque exierint contra nos sicut ante fecimus fugiemus et terga vertemus | |||||
| 6. | They will come out after us, until we have drawn them away from the city; for they will say, 'They flee before us, like the first time.' And Joshua stretched out the spear that he had in his hand toward the city. |
