| 4. * | علمه البيان | `lmh albyan | He taught/instructed him the evidence/logic. | He taught them how to distinguish. | He has taught him speech (and intelligence). | ||||
| 5. * | الشمس والقمر بحسبان | al$ms walqmr bHsban | The sun and the moon with a count/calculation. | The sun and the moon are perfectly calculated. | The sun and the moon follow courses (exactly) computed; | ||||
| 6. * | والنجم والشجر يسجدان | walnjm wal$jr ysjdan | And the star/planet and the trees, they (B) prostrate. | The stars and the trees prostrate. | And the herbs and the trees - both (alike) bow in adoration. | ||||
| 7. * | والسماء رفعها ووضع الميزان | walsma' rf`ha wwD` almyzan | And the sky/space He rose it, and He laid/put/raised the scale/measuring instrument. | He constructed the sky and established the law. | And the Firmament has He raised high, and He has set up the Balance (of Justice), | ||||
| 8. * | الا تطغوا في الميزان | ala tTGwa fy almyzan | That you not tyrannize/exceed the limit in the scale/measuring instrument. | You shall not transgress the law. | In order that ye may not transgress (due) balance. | ||||
| 9. * | واقيموا الوزن بالقسط ولاتخسروا الميزان | waqymwa alwzn balqsT wlatKsrwa almyzan | And keep up the weight/measure with the just/equitable, and do not reduce/decrease (cheat) in the scale/measuring instrument. | You shall establish justice; do not violate the law. | So establish weight with justice and fall not short in the balance. | ||||
| 10. * | والارض وضعها للانام | walarD wD`ha llanam | And the earth/Planet Earth, He laid it for the creation. | He created the earth for all creatures. | It is He Who has spread out the earth for (His) creatures: | ||||
| 11. * | فيها فاكهة والنخل ذات الاكمام | fyha fakh+ walnKl Xat alakmam | In it (are) fruits and the palm trees that of the buds/covers from which fruits and flowers emerge. | In it there are fruits, and date palms with their hanging fruit. | Therein is fruit and date-palms, producing spathes (enclosing dates); | ||||
| 12. * | والحب ذو العصف والريحان | walHb Xw al`Sf walryHan | And the seed/grain (of) the husk/chaff/external cover of seeds, and the basil/fragrant plants. | Also grains and the spices. | Also corn, with (its) leaves and stalk for fodder, and sweet-smelling plants. | ||||
| 13. * | فباي الاء ربكما تكذبان | fbay ala' rbkma tkXban | So with which (of) your (B)'s (humans and Jinns) Lord's blessings (do) you (B) deny/falsify ? | (O humans and jinns,) which of your Lord's marvels can you deny? | Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? | ||||
| 14. * | خلق الانسان من صلصال كالفخار | Klq alansan mn SlSal kalfKar | He created the human/mankind from dry mud/clay as the pottery/earthenware. | He created the human from aged clay, like the potter's clay. | He created man from sounding clay like unto pottery, | ||||
| 15. * | وخلق الجان من مارج من نار | wKlq aljan mn marj mn nar | And He created the Jinn from (the) flaming blazing torch mixed with blackened smoke from fire. | And created the jinns from blazing fire. | And He created Jinns from fire free of smoke: | ||||
| 16. * | فباي الاء ربكما تكذبان | fbay ala' rbkma tkXban | So with which (of) your (B)'s (humans and Jinns) Lord's blessings (do) you (B) deny/falsify ? | (O humans and jinns,) which of your Lord's marvels can you deny? | Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? | ||||
| 17. * | رب المشرقين ورب المغربين | rb alm$rqyn wrb almGrbyn | The two sun rises'/easts' Lord, and the two sunsets'/declines' Lord. | Lord of the two easts and the two wests. | (He is) Lord of the two Easts and Lord of the two Wests: | ||||
| 18. * | فباي الاء ربكما تكذبان | fbay ala' rbkma tkXban | So with which (of) your (B)'s (humans and Jinns) Lord's blessings (do) you (B) deny/falsify ? | Which of your Lord's marvels can you deny? | Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? | ||||
| 19. * | مرج البحرين يلتقيان | mrj albHryn yltqyan | The two large bodies of water usually salty mixed/set loose, they (B) meet. | He separates the two seas where they meet. | He has let free the two bodies of flowing water, meeting together: | ||||
| 20. * | بينهما برزخ لايبغيان | bynhma brzK laybGyan | Between them (B) (is) a barrier, they (B) do not transgress. | A barrier is placed between them, to prevent them from transgressing. | Between them is a Barrier which they do not transgress: | ||||
| 21. * | فباي الاء ربكما تكذبان | fbay ala' rbkma tkXban | So with which (of) your (B)'s (humans and Jinns) Lord's blessings (do) you (B) deny/falsify ? | Which of your Lord's marvels can you deny? | Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? | ||||
| 22. * | يخرج منهما اللؤلؤ والمرجان | yKrj mnhma allWlW walmrjan | The pearls and the corals emerge from them (B). | Out of both of them you get pearls and coral. | Out of them come Pearls and Coral: | ||||
| 23. * | فباي الاء ربكما تكذبان | fbay ala' rbkma tkXban | So with which (of) your (B)'s (humans and Jinns) Lord's blessings (do) you (B) deny/falsify ? | Which of your Lord's marvels can you deny? | Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? | ||||
| 24. * | وله الجوار المنشئات في البحر كالاعلام | wlh aljwar almn$Yat fy albHr kala`lam | And for Him (are) the ships/flowing/passing the raised/developed in the sea/ocean as/like the banners/mountains. | He gave you ships that roam the sea like flags. | And His are the Ships sailing smoothly through the seas, lofty as mountains: | ||||
| 25. * | فباي الاء ربكما تكذبان | fbay ala' rbkma tkXban | So with which (of) your (B)'s (humans and Jinns) Lord's blessings (do) you (B) deny/falsify ? | Which of your Lord's marvels can you deny? | Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? | ||||
| 26. * | كل من عليها فان | kl mn `lyha fan | Each/every who (is) on it (is) vanishing/being destroyed. | Everyone on earth perishes. | All that is on earth will perish: | ||||
| 27. * | ويبقى وجه ربك ذو الجلال والاكرام | wybqi wjh rbk Xw aljlal walakram | And your Lord's face/front/direction (owner) of the glory/splendor and the honour/generosity remains/continues. | Only the presence of your Lord lasts. Possessor of Majesty and Honor. | But will abide (for ever) the Face of thy Lord,- full of Majesty, Bounty and Honour. | ||||
| 28. * | فباي الاء ربكما تكذبان | fbay ala' rbkma tkXban | So with which (of) your (B)'s (humans and Jinns) Lord's blessings (do) you (B) deny/falsify ? | Which of your Lord's marvels can you deny? | Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? | ||||
| 29. * | يسأله من في السماوات والارض كل يوم هوفي شان | ysAlh mn fy alsmawat walarD kl ywm hwfy $an | Who (ever is) in the skies/space and the earth/Planet Earth asks/questions him, each/every day/time He is in a great matter/affair/concern. | Imploring Him is everyone in the heavens and the earth. Every day He is in full control. | Of Him seeks (its need) every creature in the heavens and on earth: every day in (new) Splendour doth He (shine)! | ||||
| 30. * | فباي الاء ربكما تكذبان | fbay ala' rbkma tkXban | So with which (of) your (B)'s (humans and Jinns) Lord's blessings (do) you (B) deny/falsify ? | Which of your Lord's marvels can you deny? | Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? | ||||
| 31. * | سنفرغ لكم ايه الثقلان | snfrG lkm ayh alxqlan | We will finish/end/complete (free ourselves) for you, oh you, the humans and Jinns (the two weights). | We will call you to account, O humans and jinns. | Soon shall We settle your affairs, O both ye worlds! | ||||
| 32. * | فباي الاء ربكما تكذبان | fbay ala' rbkma tkXban | So with which (of) your (B)'s (humans and Jinns) Lord's blessings (do) you (B) deny/falsify ? | Which of your Lord's marvels can you deny? | Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? | ||||
| 33. * | يامعشر الجن والانس ان استطعتم ان تنفذوا من اقطار السماوات والارض فانفذوا لاتنفذون الا بسلطان | yam`$r aljn walans an astT`tm an tnfXwa mn aqTar alsmawat walarD fanfXwa latnfXwn ala bslTan | You race/society (of) the Jinns and human/mankind, if you were able that (E) you penetrate/pierce from the skies'/space's and the earth's/Planet Earth's regions/diameters/chords, so penetrate/pierce, you do not penetrate/pierce except with power/ authority. | O you jinns and humans, if you can penetrate the outer limits of the heavens and the earth, go ahead and penetrate. You cannot penetrate without authorization. | O ye assembly of Jinns and men! If it be ye can pass beyond the zones of the heavens and the earth, pass ye! not without authority shall ye be able to pass! | ||||
| 34. * | فباي الاء ربكما تكذبان | fbay ala' rbkma tkXban | So with which (of) your (B)'s (humans and Jinns) Lord's blessings (do) you (B) deny/falsify ? | Which of your Lord's marvels can you deny? | Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? | ||||
| 35. * | يرسل عليكما شواظ من نار ونحاس فلا تنتصران | yrsl `lykma $waZ mn nar wnHas fla tntSran | He sends on you (B) a smokeless flame/blazing heat from fire and copper/sparks of molten iron, so you (B) do not become victorious. | You get bombarded with projectiles of fire and metal, and you cannot win. | On you will be sent (O ye evil ones twain!) a flame of fire (to burn) and a smoke (to choke): no defence will ye have: | ||||
| 36. * | فباي الاء ربكما تكذبان | fbay ala' rbkma tkXban | So with which (of) your (B)'s (humans and Jinns) Lord's blessings (do) you (B) deny/falsify ? | Which of your Lord's marvels can you deny? | Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? | ||||
| 37. * | فاذا انشقت السماء فكانت وردة كالدهان | faXa an$qt alsma' fkant wrd+ kaldhan | So if the sky/space split/cut open, so it was a red/a rose as/like the paint/painted with oil. | When the sky disintegrates, and turns rose colored like paint. | When the sky is rent asunder, and it becomes red like ointment: | ||||
| 38. * | فباي الاء ربكما تكذبان | fbay ala' rbkma tkXban | So with which (of) your (B)'s (humans and Jinns) Lord's blessings (do) you (B) deny/falsify ? | Which of your Lord's marvels can you deny? | Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? | ||||
| 39. * | فيومئذ لايسأل عن ذنبه انس ولاجان | fywmYX laysAl `n Xnbh ans wlajan | So that day (end of the world till judgment takes place), a human/mankind and nor a Jinn (will) be asked/questioned about his crime. | On that day, no human, nor a jinn, will be asked about his sins. | On that Day no question will be asked of man or Jinn as to his sin. | ||||
| 40. * | فباي الاء ربكما تكذبان | fbay ala' rbkma tkXban | So with which (of) your (B)'s (humans and Jinns) Lord's blessings (do) you (B) deny/falsify ? | Which of your Lord's marvels can you deny? | Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? | ||||
| 41. * | يعرف المجرمون بسيماهم فيؤخذ بالنواصي والاقدام | y`rf almjrmwn bsymahm fyWKX balnwaSy walaqdam | The criminals/sinners (will) be known by their marks/identifications/expressions, so (they) will be taken by the foreheads/forehead's hair (bangs), and the feet. | (This is because) the guilty will be recognized by their looks; they will be taken by the forelocks and the feet. | (For) the sinners will be known by their marks: and they will be seized by their forelocks and their feet. | ||||
| 42. * | فباي الاء ربكما تكذبان | fbay ala' rbkma tkXban | So with which (of) your (B)'s (humans and Jinns) Lord's blessings (do) you (B) deny/falsify ? | Which of your Lord's marvels can you deny? | Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? | ||||
| 43. * | هذه جهنم التي يكذب بها المجرمون | hXh jhnm alty ykXb bha almjrmwn | This is Hell which the criminals/sinners lie/deny with it. | This is Gehenna that the guilty used to deny. | This is the Hell which the Sinners deny: | ||||
| 44. * | يطوفون بينها وبين حميم ان | yTwfwn bynha wbyn Hmym an | They circle/walk around between it and between hot water/cold water/red hot coal blazing/glowing. | They will circulate between it and an intolerable inferno. | In its midst and in the midst of boiling hot water will they wander round! | ||||
| 45. * | فباي الاء ربكما تكذبان | fbay ala' rbkma tkXban | So with which (of) your (B)'s (humans and Jinns) Lord's blessings (do) you (B) deny/falsify ? | Which of your Lord's marvels can you deny? | Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? | ||||
| 46. * | ولمن خاف مقام ربه جنتان | wlmn Kaf mqam rbh jntan | And to who feared His Lord's place/position, two treed gardens. | For those who reverence the majesty of their Lord, two gardens (one for the jinns and one for the humans). | But for such as fear the time when they will stand before (the Judgment Seat of) their Lord, there will be two Gardens- | ||||
| 47. * | فباي الاء ربكما تكذبان | fbay ala' rbkma tkXban | So with which (of) your (B)'s (humans and Jinns) Lord's blessings (do) you (B) deny/falsify ? | Which of your Lord's marvels can you deny? | Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny?- | ||||
| 48. * | ذواتا افنان | Xwata afnan | (B) of (the two treed gardens) have branches. | Full of provisions. | Containing all kinds (of trees and delights);- | ||||
| 49. * | فباي الاء ربكما تكذبان | fbay ala' rbkma tkXban | So with which (of) your (B)'s (humans and Jinns) Lord's blessings (do) you (B) deny/falsify ? | Which of your Lord's marvels can you deny? | Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny?- | ||||
| 50. * | فيهما عينان تجريان | fyhma `ynan tjryan | In them (B) (are) two water springs/wells, they (B) flow. | Two springs are in them, flowing. | In them (each) will be two Springs flowing (free); | ||||
| 51. * | فباي الاء ربكما تكذبان | fbay ala' rbkma tkXban | So with which (of) your (B)'s (humans and Jinns) Lord's blessings (do) you (B) deny/falsify ? | Which of your Lord's marvels can you deny? | Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny?- | ||||
| 52. * | فيهما من كل فاكهة زوجان | fyhma mn kl fakh+ zwjan | In them (B) (are) from every/each fruits, a pair/couple/two kinds. | Of every fruit in them, two kinds. | In them will be Fruits of every kind, two and two. | ||||
| 53. * | فباي الاء ربكما تكذبان | fbay ala' rbkma tkXban | So with which (of) your (B)'s (humans and Jinns) Lord's blessings (do) you (B) deny/falsify ? | Which of your Lord's marvels can you deny? | Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? | ||||
| 54. * | متكئين على فرش بطائنها من استبرق وجنى الجنتين دان | mtkYyn `li fr$ bTaYnha mn astbrq wjni aljntyn dan | Leaning/reclining on on spreads/beds its lining/interior (is) from brocade, and the two treed gardens' harvest (fruits is) near. | While relaxing on furnishings lined with satin, the fruits are within reach. | They will recline on Carpets, whose inner linings will be of rich brocade: the Fruit of the Gardens will be near (and easy of reach). | ||||
| 55. * | فباي الاء ربكما تكذبان | fbay ala' rbkma tkXban | So with which (of) your (B)'s (humans and Jinns) Lord's blessings (do) you (B) deny/falsify ? | Which of your Lord's marvels can you deny? | Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? | ||||
| 56. * | فيهن قاصرات الطرف لم يطمثهن انس قبلهم ولاجان | fyhn qaSrat alTrf lm yTmxhn ans qblhm wlajan | In them (B) (are) confining the eyes, (they) were not touched (by) a human before them, and nor Jinn. | Their beautiful mates were never touched by any human or jinn. | In them will be (Maidens), chaste, restraining their glances, whom no man or Jinn before them has touched;- | ||||
| 57. * | فباي الاء ربكما تكذبان | fbay ala' rbkma tkXban | So with which (of) your (B)'s (humans and Jinns) Lord's blessings (do) you (B) deny/falsify ? | Which of your Lord's marvels can you deny? | Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny?- | ||||
| 58. * | كانهن الياقوت والمرجان | kanhn alyaqwt walmrjan | As if/though they (F) are corundum/hardest mineral after diamond (rubies/sapphires/ topazes), and the corals. | They look like gems and coral. | Like unto Rubies and coral. | ||||
| 59. * | فباي الاء ربكما تكذبان | fbay ala' rbkma tkXban | So with which (of) your (B)'s (humans and Jinns) Lord's blessings (do) you (B) deny/falsify ?398 | Which of your Lord's marvels can you deny? | Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? | ||||
| 60. * | هل جزاء الاحسان الا الاحسان | hl jza' alaHsan ala alaHsan | Is the goodness' reimbursement, except the goodness'? | Is the reward of goodness anything but goodness? | Is there any Reward for Good - other than Good? | ||||
| 61. * | فباي الاء ربكما تكذبان | fbay ala' rbkma tkXban | So with which (of) your (B)'s (humans and Jinns) Lord's blessings (do) you (B) deny/falsify ? | Which of your Lord's marvels can you deny? | Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? | ||||
| 62. * | ومن دونهما جنتان | wmn dwnhma jntan | And from other than them (B) two treed gardens. | Below them are two gardens (one for the jinns and one for the humans). | And besides these two, there are two other Gardens,- | ||||
| 63. * | فباي الاء ربكما تكذبان | fbay ala' rbkma tkXban | So with which (of) your (B)'s (humans and Jinns) Lord's blessings (do) you (B) deny/falsify ? | Which of your Lord's marvels can you deny? | Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny?- | ||||
| 64. * | مدهامتان | mdhamtan | (B) (are) blackish green and fragrant. | Side by side. | Dark-green in colour (from plentiful watering). | ||||
| 65. * | فباي الاء ربكما تكذبان | fbay ala' rbkma tkXban | So with which (of) your (B)'s (humans and Jinns) Lord's blessings (do) you (B) deny/falsify ? | Which of your Lord's marvels can you deny? | Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? | ||||
| 66. * | فيهما عينان نضاختان | fyhma `ynan nDaKtan | In them (B) (are) two water springs/wells, (B) flowing/gushing. | In them, wells to be pumped. | In them (each) will be two Springs pouring forth water in continuous abundance: | ||||
| 67. * | فباي الاء ربكما تكذبان | fbay ala' rbkma tkXban | So with which (of) your (B)'s (humans and Jinns) Lord's blessings (do) you (B) deny/falsify ? | Which of your Lord's marvels can you deny? | Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? | ||||
| 68. * | فيها فاكهة ونخل ورمان | fyha fakh+ wnKl wrman | In them (B) (are) fruits, and palm trees, and pomegranate. | In them are fruits, date palms, and pomegranate. | In them will be Fruits, and dates and pomegranates: | ||||
| 69. * | فباي الاء ربكما تكذبان | fbay ala' rbkma tkXban | So with which (of) your (B)'s (humans and Jinns) Lord's blessings (do) you (B) deny/falsify ? | Which of your Lord's marvels can you deny? | Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? | ||||
| 70. * | فيهن خيرات حسان | fyhn Kyrat Hsan | In them (B) (are) very beautiful good/generous. | In them are beautiful mates. | In them will be fair (Companions), good, beautiful;- | ||||
| 71. * | فباي الاء ربكما تكذبان | fbay ala' rbkma tkXban | So with which (of) your (B)'s (humans and Jinns) Lord's blessings (do) you (B) deny/falsify ? | Which of your Lord's marvels can you deny? | Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny?- | ||||
| 72. * | حور مقصورات في الخيام | Hwr mqSwrat fy alKyam | Dilated pupils (very beautiful) confined/limited in the tents. | Confined in the tents. | Companions restrained (as to their glances), in (goodly) pavilions;- | ||||
| 73. * | فباي الاء ربكما تكذبان | fbay ala' rbkma tkXban | So with which (of) your (B)'s (humans and Jinns) Lord's blessings (do) you (B) deny/falsify ? | Which of your Lord's marvels can you deny? | Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny?- | ||||
| 74. * | لم يطمثهن انس قبلهم ولاجان | lm yTmxhn ans qblhm wlajan | (They) were not touched (by) a human before them, and nor Jinn. | No human ever touched them, nor a jinn. | Whom no man or Jinn before them has touched;- | ||||
| 75. * | فباي الاء ربكما تكذبان | fbay ala' rbkma tkXban | So with which (of) your (B)'s (humans and Jinns) Lord's blessings (do) you (B) deny/falsify ? | Which of your Lord's marvels can you deny? | Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny?- | ||||
| 76. * | متكئين على رفرف خضر وعبقري حسان | mtkYyn `li rfrf KDr w`bqry Hsan | Leaning/relining on green carpets/pillows/silk and very beautiful fine carpets. | They relax on green carpets, in beautiful surroundings. | Reclining on green Cushions and rich Carpets of beauty. | ||||
| 77. * | فباي الاء ربكما تكذبان | fbay ala' rbkma tkXban | So with which (of) your (B)'s (humans and Jinns) Lord's blessings (do) you (B) deny/falsify ? | Which of your Lord's marvels can you deny? | Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? | ||||
| 78. * | تبارك اسم ربك ذي الجلال والاكرام | tbark asm rbk Xy aljlal walakram | Blessed (is) your Lord's name, (owner) of the glory/splendor and the honour/generosity 399 | Most exalted is the name of your Lord, Possessor of Majesty and Honor. | Blessed be the name of thy Lord, full of Majesty, Bounty and Honour. | ||||
