| 3. * | واذا البحار فجرت | waXa albHar fjrt | And when/if the seas/oceans burst/over flowed. | The oceans are exploded. | When the Oceans are suffered to burst forth; | ||||
| 4. * | واذا القبور بعثرت | waXa alqbwr b`xrt | And when/if the graves/burial places are scattered/over thrown. | The graves are opened. | And when the Graves are turned upside down;- | ||||
| 5. * | علمت نفس ماقدمت واخرت | `lmt nfs maqdmt waKrt | A self knew what it advanced/preceded and delayed. | Every soul will find out what caused it to advance, and what caused it to regress. | (Then) shall each soul know what it hath sent forward and (what it hath) kept back. | ||||
| 6. * | ياايها الانسان ماغرك بربك الكريم | yaayha alansan maGrk brbk alkrym | You, you the human/mankind, what has deceived/tempted you with (from) your Lord, the honoured/generous ? | O you human being, what diverted you from your Lord Most Honorable? | O man! What has seduced thee from thy Lord Most Beneficent?- | ||||
| 7. * | الذي خلقك فسواك فعدلك | alXy Klqk fswak f`dlk | Who created you, so He straightened you, so He balanced/adjusted you. | The One who created you, designed you, and perfected you. | Him Who created thee. Fashioned thee in due proportion, and gave thee a just bias; | ||||
| 8. * | في اي صورة ماشاء ركبك | fy ay Swr+ ma$a' rkbk | In any shape/picture what He willed/intended He assembled/composed you. | In whatever design He chose, He constructed it. | In whatever Form He wills, does He put thee together. | ||||
| 9. * | كلا بل تكذبون بالدين | kla bl tkXbwn baldyn | No but, rather you lie/deny/falsify with the religion. | Indeed, you disbelieve in the religion. | Day! nit ye do reject Right and Judgment! | ||||
| 10. * | وان عليكم لحافظين | wan `lykm lHafZyn | And that truly (We are) on you protectors/observers (E). | Oblivious to the fact that there are (invisible) keepers around you. | But verily over you (are appointed angels) to protect you,- | ||||
| 11. * | كراما كاتبين | krama katbyn | Honoured/generous, writing/ordering. | They are honest recorders. | Kind and honourable,- Writing down (your deeds): | ||||
| 12. * | يعلمون ماتفعلون | y`lmwn matf`lwn | They (the angels) know what you make/do. | They record everything you do. | They know (and understand) all that ye do. | ||||
| 13. * | ان الابرار لفي نعيم | an alabrar lfy n`ym | That truly the righteous/charitable (are) in (E) blessing/goodness. | Surely, the pious have deserved bliss. | As for the Righteous, they will be in bliss; | ||||
| 14. * | وان الفجار لفي جحيم | wan alfjar lfy jHym | And that truly the debauchers/corrupters (are) in (E) Hell. | While the wicked have deserved Hell. | And the Wicked - they will be in the Fire, | ||||
| 15. * | يصلونها يوم الدين | ySlwnha ywm aldyn | They roast/suffer (from) it (in) the Judgment Day/Resurrection Day. | Will incur it on the Day of Judgment. | Which they will enter on the Day of Judgment, | ||||
| 16. * | وماهم عنها بغائبين | wmahm `nha bGaYbyn | And they are not from it with (being) absent/hidden. | They never leave it. | And they will not be able to keep away therefrom. | ||||
| 17. * | وماادراك مايوم الدين | wmaadrak maywm aldyn | And what made you know/informed you what (is) the Judgment Day/Resurrection Day ? | Awesome is the Day of Judgment. | And what will explain to thee what the Day of Judgment is? | ||||
| 18. * | ثم ماادراك مايوم الدين | xm maadrak maywm aldyn | Then what made you know/informed you what the Judgment Day/Resurrection Day (is)? | What a day; the Day of Judgment! | Again, what will explain to thee what the Day of Judgment is? | ||||
| 19. * | يوم لاتملك نفس لنفس شيئا والامر يومئذ لله | ywm latmlk nfs lnfs $yYa walamr ywmYX llh | A day/time a self does not own/possess to a self a thing, and the matter/affair/order/command (on) that day (is) to God. | That is the day when no soul can help another soul, and all decisions, on that day, will belong to GOD. | (It will be) the Day when no soul shall have power (to do) aught for another: For the command, that Day, will be (wholly) with Allah. | ||||
