| 1. * | سورة المدثر بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم ٛــــ ياايها المدثر | swr+ almdxr bsm allh alrHmn alrHym ? yaayha almdxr | You, you the wrapped/covered for warmth in a robe. | O thou wrapped up (in the mantle)! | |||
| 2. * | قم فانذر | qm fanXr | Stand, so warn/give notice. | Arise and deliver thy warning! | |||
| 3. * | وربك فكبر | wrbk fkbr | And your Lord, so magnify/exalt/revere. | And thy Lord do thou magnify! | |||
| 4. * | وثيابك فطهر | wxyabk fThr | And your clothes/garments, so purify/clean. | And thy garments keep free from stain! | |||
| 5. * | والرجز فاهجر | walrjz fahjr | And the paganism/idol worship/sin, so abandon. | And all abomination shun! | |||
| 6. * | ولاتمنن تستكثر | wlatmnn tstkxr | And do not do a favour and remind of it doing much (repeatedly). | Nor expect, in giving, any increase (for thyself)! | |||
| 7. * | ولربك فاصبر | wlrbk faSbr | And to your Lord, so be patient. | But, for thy Lord's (Cause), be patient and constant! | |||
| 8. * | فاذا نقر في الناقور | faXa nqr fy alnaqwr | So if the horn/bugle/trumpet was blown in. | Finally, when the Trumpet is sounded, | |||
| 9. * | فذلك يومئذ يوم عسير | fXlk ywmYX ywm `syr | So that, that day (is) a difficult/distressing day/time. | That will be- that Day - a Day of Distress,- | |||
| 10. * | على الكافرين غير يسير | `li alkafryn Gyr ysyr | On the disbelievers (it is)not easy. | Far from easy for those without Faith. | |||
| 11. * | ذرني ومن خلقت وحيدا | Xrny wmn Klqt wHyda | Leave Me and whom I created alone. | Leave Me alone, (to deal) with the (creature) whom I created (bare and) alone!- | |||
| 12. * | وجعلت له مالا ممدودا | wj`lt lh mala mmdwda | And I made/put for him extended/spread possessions/property. | To whom I granted resources in abundance, | |||
| 13. * | وبنين شهودا | wbnyn $hwda | And sons and daughters present/testifying. | And sons to be by his side!- | |||
| 14. * | ومهدت له تمهيدا | wmhdt lh tmhyda | And I prepared for him preparation. | To whom I made (life) smooth and comfortable! | |||
| 15. * | ثم يطمع ان ازيد | xm yTm` an azyd | Then he wishes/covets that I increase. | Yet is he greedy-that I should add (yet more);- | |||
| 16. * | كلا انه كان لاياتنا عنيدا | kla anh kan layatna `nyda | No, but he was to Our verses/evidences stubborn/obstinate. | By no means! For to Our Signs he has been refractory! | |||
| 17. * | سارهقه صعودا | sarhqh S`wda | I will burden him (with) severity/hardship. | Soon will I visit him with a mount of calamities! | |||
| 18. * | انه فكر وقدر | anh fkr wqdr | That he truly thought, and he evaluated/estimated. | For he thought and he plotted;- | |||
| 19. * | فقتل كيف قدر | fqtl kyf qdr | So how he evaluated/estimated was killed (punished). | And woe to him! How he plotted!- | |||
| 20. * | ثم قتل كيف قدر | xm qtl kyf qdr | Then was killed (punished) how he evaluated/estimated. | Yea, Woe to him; How he plotted!- | |||
| 21. * | ثم نظر | xm nZr | Then he looked. | Then he looked round; | |||
| 22. * | ثم عبس وبسر | xm `bs wbsr | Then he frowned, and he frowned/became gloomy. | Then he frowned and he scowled; | |||
| 23. * | ثم ادبر واستكبر | xm adbr wastkbr | Then he gave his back and he became arrogant. | Then he turned back and was haughty; | |||
| 24. * | فقال ان هذا الا سحر يؤثر | fqal an hXa ala sHr yWxr | So he said: "That truly that (is) except magic/sorcery to be traced (followed/copied)." | Then said he: "This is nothing but magic, derived from of old; | |||
| 25. * | ان هذا الا قول البشر | an hXa ala qwl alb$r | That truly that (is) except the human's word/opinion and belief. | "This is nothing but the word of a mortal!" | |||
| 26. * | ساصليه سقر | saSlyh sqr | I will roast/make him suffer Hell. | Soon will I cast him into Hell-Fire! | |||
| 27. * | وماادراك ماسقر | wmaadrak masqr | And what makes you know what Hell (is)? | And what will explain to thee what Hell-Fire is? | |||
| 28. * | لاتبقي ولاتذر | latbqy wlatXr | (It) does not protect/have mercy, and nor it leaves. | Naught doth it permit to endure, and naught doth it leave alone!- | |||
| 29. * | لواحة للبشر | lwaH+ llb$r | Shrinking/dehydrating due to fire to the human/skin. | Darkening and changing the colour of man! | |||
| 30. * | عليها تسعة عشر | `lyha ts`+ `$r | On it (are) nineteen. | Over it are Nineteen. | |||
| 31. * | وماجعلنا اصحاب النار الا ملائكة وماجعلنا عدتهم الا فتنة للذين كفروا ليستيقن الذين اوتوا الكتاب ويزداد الذين امنوا ايمانا ولايرتاب الذين اوتوا الكتاب والمؤمنون وليقول الذين في قلوبهم مرض والكافرون ماذا اراد الله بهذا مثلا كذلك يضل الله من يشاء ويهدي من يشاء ومايعلم جنود ربك الا هو وماهي الا ذكرى للبشر | wmaj`lna aSHab alnar ala mlaYk+ wmaj`lna `dthm ala ftn+ llXyn kfrwa lystyqn alXyn awtwa alktab wyzdad alXyn amnwa aymana wlayrtab alXyn awtwa alktab walmWmnwn wlyqwl alXyn fy qlwbhm mrD walkafrwn maXa arad allh bhXa mxla kXlk yDl allh mn y$a' wyhdy mn y$a' wmay`lm jnwd rbk ala hw wmahy ala Xkri llb$r | And We did not make the fire's owners/company (guards) except angels, and We did not make their number/count except (as) a test to those who disbelieved, who were given/brought The Book (Jews and Christians) to be sure/certain, and (for) those who believed (to) increase faith/belief; and (for) those who weregiven The Book (Jews/Christians), and the believers do not become doubtful/suspicious, and (for) those whom in their hearts/minds (is) sickness/disease (doubt), and the disbelievers to say: "What (has) God wanted/intended with that (as) an example/proverb?" As/like that God misguides whom He wills/wants,and He guides whom He wills/wants, and none know your Lord's soldiers/warriors except Him, and it is not except a reminder to the human. | And We have set none but angels as Guardians of the Fire; and We have fixed their number only as a trial for Unbelievers,- in order that the People of the Book may arrive at certainty, and the Believers may increase in Faith,- and that no doubts may be left for the People of the Book and the Believers, and that those in whose hearts is a disease and the Unbelievers may say, "What symbol doth Allah intend by this ?" Thus doth Allah leave to stray whom He pleaseth, and guide whom He pleaseth: and none can know the forces of thy Lord, except He and this is no other than a warning to mankind. | |||
| 32. * | كلا والقمر | kla walqmr | No but and/by the moon. | Nay, verily: By the Moon, | |||
| 33. * | والليل اذ ادبر | wallyl aX adbr | And/by the night when it ended/passed. | And by the Night as it retreateth, | |||
| 34. * | والصبح اذا اسفر | walSbH aXa asfr | And/by morning/day break when it appeared/lit/shined. | And by the Dawn as it shineth forth,- | |||
| 35. * | انها لاحدى الكبر | anha laHdi alkbr | That it truly is one (E) (of) the greatest. | This is but one of the mighty (portents), | |||
| 36. * | نذيرا للبشر | nXyra llb$r | A warning/notice to the human. | A warning to mankind,- | |||
| 37. * | لمن شاء منكم ان يتقدم او يتاخر | lmn $a' mnkm an ytqdm aw ytaKr | For who from you wanted that to advance/precede or delay/lag behind. | To any of you that chooses to press forward, or to follow behind;- | |||
| 38. * | كل نفس بما كسبت رهينة | kl nfs bma ksbt rhyn+ | Every/each self with what (it) earned/gained/acquired (is) accountable. | Every soul will be (held) in pledge for its deeds. | |||
| 39. * | الا اصحاب اليمين | ala aSHab alymyn | Except the right (side's) owners. | Except the Companions of the Right Hand. | |||
| 40. * | في جنات يتساءلون | fy jnat ytsa'lwn | In treed gardens/paradises (are) asking/questioning each other. | (They will be) in Gardens (of Delight): they will question each other, | |||
| 41. * | عن المجرمين | `n almjrmyn | About the criminals/sinners: | And (ask) of the Sinners: | |||
| 42. * | ماسلككم في سقر | maslkkm fy sqr | What made you enter/follow in Hell ? | "What led you into Hell Fire?" | |||
| 43. * | قالوا لم نك من المصلين | qalwa lm nk mn almSlyn | They said: "We were not from praying." | They will say: "We were not of those who prayed; | |||
| 44. * | ولم نك نطعم المسكين | wlm nk nT`m almskyn | And we were not feeding the poorest of poor/poor oppressed. | "Nor were we of those who fed the indigent; | |||
| 45. * | وكنا نخوض مع الخائضين | wkna nKwD m` alKaYDyn | And we were engaging in conversation with the engaging in conversation. | "But we used to talk vanities with vain talkers; | |||
| 46. * | وكنا نكذب بيوم الدين | wkna nkXb bywm aldyn | And we were denying with the Judgment Day/Resurrection Day. | "And we used to deny the Day of Judgment, | |||
| 47. * | حتى اتانا اليقين | Hti atana alyqyn | Until the assurance/certainty (death) came to us. | "Until there came to us (the Hour) that is certain." | |||
| 48. * | فما تنفعهم شفاعة الشافعين | fma tnf`hm $fa`+ al$af`yn | So the mediators' mediation does not benefit them. | Then will no intercession of (any) intercessors profit them. | |||
| 49. * | فمالهم عن التذكرة معرضين | fmalhm `n altXkr+ m`rDyn | So what (is) for them (they are) from the reminder opposing/objecting. | Then what is the matter with them that they turn away from admonition?- | |||
| 50. * | كانهم حمر مستنفرة | kanhm Hmr mstnfr+ | As if they are frightened/running away donkeys. | As if they were affrighted asses, | |||
| 51. * | فرت من قسورة | frt mn qswr+ | It escaped/fled from cruelty/a lion. | Fleeing from a lion! | |||
| 52. * | بل يريد كل امرئ منهم ان يؤتى صحفا منشرة | bl yryd kl amrY mnhm an yWti SHfa mn$r+ | But every/each human from them wants/intends that he be given/brought written sheets/pages (books/scriptures) spread/publicized. | Forsooth, each one of them wants to be given scrolls (of revelation) spread out! | |||
| 53. * | كلا بل لايخافون الاخرة | kla bl layKafwn alaKr+ | No but they do not fear the end (other life). | By no means! But they fear not the Hereafter, | |||
| 54. * | كلا انه تذكرة | kla anh tXkr+ | No, but that it (the Koran) truly is a reminder. | Nay, this surely is an admonition: | |||
| 55. * | فمن شاء ذكره | fmn $a' Xkrh | So who wanted/intended remembered it. | Let any who will, keep it in remembrance! | |||
| 56. * | ومايذكرون الا ان يشاء الله هو اهل التقوى واهل المغفرة | wmayXkrwn ala an y$a' allh hw ahl altqwi wahl almGfr+ | And they do not mention/remember except that God wills/wants, He is worthy/relation (owner of) the fear and obedience, and (He is) worthy/relation (owner of) the forgiveness.445 | But none will keep it in remembrance except as Allah wills: He is the Lord of Righteousness, and the Lord of Forgiveness. | |||
