| 1. * | O Prophet! Why holdest thou to be forbidden that which Allah has made lawful to thee? Thou seekest to please thy consorts. But Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful. | O you prophet, why do you prohibit what GOD has made lawful for you, just to please your wives? | 2. * | Allah has already ordained for you, (O men), the dissolution of your oaths (in some cases): and Allah is your Protector, and He is Full of Knowledge and Wisdom. | GOD has decreed for you the laws dealing with your oaths. GOD is your Lord, and He is the Omniscient, Most Wise. | قد فرض الله لكم تحلة ايمانكم والله مولاكم وهو العليم الحكيم | qd frD allh lkm tHl+ aymankm wallh mwlakm whw al`lym alHkym | |||
| 3. * | When the Prophet disclosed a matter in confidence to one of his consorts, and she then divulged it (to another), and Allah made it known to him, he confirmed part thereof and repudiated a part. Then when he told her thereof, she said, "Who told thee this? "He said, "He told me Who knows and is well-acquainted (with all things)." | The prophet had trusted some of his wives with a certain statement, then one of them spread it, and GOD let him know about it. He then informed his wife of part of the issue, and disregarded part. She asked him, "Who informed you of this?" He said, "I was informed by the Omniscient, Most Cognizant." | واذ اسر النبي الى بعض ازواجه حديثا فلما نبات به واظهره الله عليه عرف بعضه واعرض عن بعض فلما نباها به قالت من انباك هذا قال نباني العليم الخبير | waX asr alnby ali b`D azwajh Hdyxa flma nbat bh waZhrh allh `lyh `rf b`Dh wa`rD `n b`D flma nbaha bh qalt mn anbak hXa qal nbany al`lym alKbyr | |||
| 4. * | If ye two turn in repentance to Him, your hearts are indeed so inclined; But if ye back up each other against him, truly Allah is his Protector, and Gabriel, and (every) righteous one among those who believe,- and furthermore, the angels - will back (him) up. | If the two of you repent to GOD, then your hearts have listened. But if you band together against him, then GOD is his ally, and so is Gabriel and the righteous believers. Also, the angels are his helpers. | ان تتوبا الى الله فقد صغت قلوبكما وان تظاهرا عليه فان الله هو مولاه وجبريل وصالح المؤمنين والملائكة بعد ذلك ظهير | an ttwba ali allh fqd SGt qlwbkma wan tZahra `lyh fan allh hw mwlah wjbryl wSalH almWmnyn walmlaYk+ b`d Xlk Zhyr | |||
| 5. * | It may be, if he divorced you (all), that Allah will give him in exchange consorts better than you,- who submit (their wills), who believe, who are devout, who turn to Allah in repentance, who worship (in humility), who travel (for Faith) and fast,- previously married or virgins. | If he divorces you, his Lord will substitute other wives in your place who are better than you; submitters (Muslims), believers (Mu'mins), obedient, repentant, worshipers, pious, either previously married, or virgins. | عسى ربه ان طلقكن ان يبدله ازواجا خيرا منكن مسلمات مؤمنات قانتات تائبات عابدات سائحات ثيبات وابكارا | `si rbh an Tlqkn an ybdlh azwaja Kyra mnkn mslmat mWmnat qantat taYbat `abdat saYHat xybat wabkara | |||
| 6. * | O ye who believe! save yourselves and your families from a Fire whose fuel is Men and Stones, over which are (appointed) angels stern (and) severe, who flinch not (from executing) the Commands they receive from Allah, but do (precisely) what they are commanded. | O you who believe, protect yourselves and your families from the Hellfire whose fuel is people and rocks. Guarding it are stern and powerful angels who never disobey GOD; they do whatever they are commanded to do. | ياايها الذين امنوا قوا انفسكم واهليكم نارا وقودها الناس والحجارة عليها ملائكة غلاظ شداد لايعصون الله ماامرهم ويفعلون مايؤمرون | yaayha alXyn amnwa qwa anfskm wahlykm nara wqwdha alnas walHjar+ `lyha mlaYk+ GlaZ $dad lay`Swn allh maamrhm wyf`lwn mayWmrwn | |||
| 7. * | (They will say), "O ye Unbelievers! Make no excuses this Day! Ye are being but requited for all that ye did!" | O you who disbelieved, do not apologize today. You are being requited only for what you did. | ياايها الذين كفروا لاتعتذروا اليوم انما تجزون ماكنتم تعملون | yaayha alXyn kfrwa lat`tXrwa alywm anma tjzwn makntm t`mlwn | |||
| 8. * | O ye who believe! Turn to Allah with sincere repentance: In the hope that your Lord will remove from you your ills and admit you to Gardens beneath which Rivers flow,- the Day that Allah will not permit to be humiliated the Prophet and those who believe with him. Their Light will run forward before them and by their right hands, while they say, "Our Lord! Perfect our Light for us, and grant us Forgiveness: for Thou hast power over all things." | O you who believe, you shall repent to GOD a firm repentance. Your Lord will then remit your sins and admit you into gardens with flowing streams. On that day, GOD will not disappoint the prophet and those who believed with him. Their light will radiate in front of them and to their right. They will say, "Our Lord, perfect our light for us, and forgive us; You are Omnipotent." | ياايها الذين امنوا توبوا الى الله توبة نصوحا عسى ربكم ان يكفر عنكم سيئاتكم ويدخلكم جنات تجري من تحتها الانهار يوم لايخزي الله النبي والذين امنوا معه نورهم يسعى بين ايديهم وبايمانهم يقولون ربنا اتمم لنا نورنا واغفر لنا انك على كل شئ قدير | yaayha alXyn amnwa twbwa ali allh twb+ nSwHa `si rbkm an ykfr `nkm syYatkm wydKlkm jnat tjry mn tHtha alanhar ywm layKzy allh alnby walXyn amnwa m`h nwrhm ys`i byn aydyhm wbaymanhm yqwlwn rbna atmm lna nwrna waGfr lna ank `li kl $Y qdyr | |||
| 9. * | O Prophet! Strive hard against the Unbelievers and the Hypocrites, and be firm against them. Their abode is Hell,- an evil refuge (indeed). | O prophet, struggle against the disbelievers and the hypocrites and be stern with them. Their abode is Gehenna, and a miserable destiny. | ياايها النبي جاهد الكفار والمنافقين واغلظ عليهم وماواهم جهنم وبئس المصير | yaayha alnby jahd alkfar walmnafqyn waGlZ `lyhm wmawahm jhnm wbYs almSyr | |||
| 10. * | Allah sets forth, for an example to the Unbelievers, the wife of Noah and the wife of Lut: they were (respectively) under two of our righteous servants, but they were false to their (husbands), and they profited nothing before Allah on their account, but were told: "Enter ye the Fire along with (others) that enter!" | GOD cites as examples of those who disbelieved the wife of Noah and the wife of Lot. They were married to two of our righteous servants, but they betrayed them and, consequently, they could not help them at all against GOD. The two of them were told, "Enter the Hell-fire with those who deserved it." | ضرب الله مثلا للذين كفروا امراة نوح وامراة لوط كانتا تحت عبدين من عبادنا صالحين فخانتاهما فلم يغنيا عنهما من الله شيئا وقيلا ادخلا النار مع الداخلين | Drb allh mxla llXyn kfrwa amra+ nwH wamra+ lwT kanta tHt `bdyn mn `badna SalHyn fKantahma flm yGnya `nhma mn allh $yYa wqyla adKla alnar m` aldaKlyn | |||
| 11. * | And Allah sets forth, as an example to those who believe the wife of Pharaoh: Behold she said: "O my Lord! Build for me, in nearness to Thee, a mansion in the Garden, and save me from Pharaoh and his doings, and save me from those that do wrong"; | And GOD cites as an example of those who believed the wife of Pharaoh. She said, "My Lord, build a home for me at You in Paradise, and save me from Pharaoh and his works; save me from the transgressing people." | وضرب الله مثلا للذين امنوا امراة فرعون اذ قالت رب ابن لي عندك بيتا في الجنة ونجني من فرعون وعمله ونجني من القوم الظالمين | wDrb allh mxla llXyn amnwa amra+ fr`wn aX qalt rb abn ly `ndk byta fy aljn+ wnjny mn fr`wn w`mlh wnjny mn alqwm alZalmyn | |||
| 12. * | And Mary the daughter of 'Imran, who guarded her chastity; and We breathed into (her body) of Our spirit; and she testified to the truth of the words of her Lord and of His Revelations, and was one of the devout (servants). | Also Mary, the Amramite. She maintained her chastity, then we blew into her from our spirit. She believed in the words of her Lord and His scriptures; she was obedient. | ومريم ابنت عمران التي احصنت فرجها فنفخنا فيه من روحنا وصدقت بكلمات ربها وكتبه وكانت من القانتين | wmrym abnt `mran alty aHSnt frjha fnfKna fyh mn rwHna wSdqt bklmat rbha wktbh wkant mn alqantyn | |||
