| 4. | Joseph found favor in his sight. He ministered to him, and he made him overseer over his house, and all that he had he put into his hand. | And Joseph found grace in his sight, and he served him: and he made him overseer over his house, and all that he had he put into his hand. |

| 6. | He left all that he had in Joseph's hand. He didn't concern himself with anything, except for the food which he ate. Joseph was well-built and handsome. | And he left all that he had in Joseph's hand; and he knew not ought he had, save the bread which he did eat. And Joseph was a goodly person, and well favoured. |

| 7. | It happened after these things, that his master's wife cast her eyes on Joseph; and she said, "Lie with me." | And it came to pass after these things, that his master's wife cast her eyes upon Joseph; and she said, Lie with me. |

VYHY 'aChUr HDBUrYM H'aLH VThSh'a 'aShTh-'aDNYV 'aTh-'yYNYH 'aL-YVSPh VTh'aMUr ShKBH 'yMY. | And it cometh to pass after these things, that his lord`s wife lifteth up her eyes unto Joseph, and saith, `Lie with me;` | post multos itaque dies iecit domina oculos suos in Ioseph et ait dormi mecum | |||||
| 8. | But he refused, and said to his master's wife, "Behold, my master doesn't know what is with me in the house, and he has put all that he has into my hand. | But he refused, and said unto his master's wife, Behold, my master wotteth not what is with me in the house, and he hath committed all that he hath to my hand; |
וימאן ויאמר אל־אשת אדניו הן אדני לא־ידע אתי מה־בבית וכל אשר־ יש־לו נתן בידי׃ |
VYM'aN VY'aMUr 'aL-'aShTh 'aDNYV HN 'aDNY L'a-YD'y 'aThY MH-BBYTh VKL 'aShUr- YSh-LV NThN BYDY. | and he refuseth, and saith unto his lord`s wife, `Lo, my lord hath not known what is with me in the house, and all that he hath he hath given into my hand; | qui nequaquam adquiescens operi nefario dixit ad eam ecce dominus meus omnibus mihi traditis ignorat quid habeat in domo sua | |||||
| 9. | He isn't greater in this house than I, neither has he kept back anything from me but you, because you are his wife. | 10. | As she spoke to Joseph day by day, he didn't listen to her, to lie by her, or to be with her. | And it came to pass, as she spake to Joseph day by day, that he hearkened not unto her, to lie by her, or to be with her. |

| 11. | About this time, he went into the house to do his work, and there were none of the men of the house inside. | And it came to pass about this time, that Joseph went into the house to do his business; and there was none of the men of the house there within. |

| 14. | she called to the men of her house, and spoke to them, saying, "Behold, he has brought in a Hebrew to us to mock us. He came in to me to lie with me, and I cried with a loud voice. | That she called unto the men of her house, and spake unto them, saying, See, he hath brought in an Hebrew unto us to mock us; he came in unto me to lie with me, and I cried with a loud voice: |
ותקרא לאנשי ביתה ותאמר להם לאמר ראו הביא לנו איש עברי לצחק בנו בא אלי לשכב עמי ואקרא בקול גדול׃ |
VThQUr'a L'aNShY BYThH VTh'aMUr LHM L'aMUr Ur'aV HBY'a LNV 'aYSh 'yBUrY LTShChQ BNV B'a 'aLY LShKB 'yMY V'aQUr'a BQVL GDVL. | that she calleth for the men of her house, and speaketh to them, saying, `See, he hath brought in to us a man, a Hebrew, to play with us; he hath come in unto me, to lie with me, and I call with a loud voice, | vocavit homines domus suae et ait ad eos en introduxit virum hebraeum ut inluderet nobis ingressus est ad me ut coiret mecum cumque ego succlamassem | |||||
| 15. | It happened, when he heard that I lifted up my voice and cried, that he left his garment by me, and ran outside." | And it came to pass, when he heard that I lifted up my voice and cried, that he left his garment with me, and fled, and got him out. |

| 16. | She laid up his garment by her, until his master came home. | And she laid up his garment by her, until his lord came home. |
ותנח בגדו אצלה עד־בוא אדניו אל־ביתו׃ |

VThDBUr 'aLYV KDBUrYM H'aLH L'aMUr B'a-'aLY H'yBD H'yBUrY 'aShUr-HB'aTh LNV LTShChQ BY. | And she speaketh unto him according to these words, saying, `The Hebrew servant whom thou hast brought unto us, hath come in unto me to play with me; | et ait ingressus est ad me servus hebraeus quem adduxisti ut inluderet mihi | |||||

| 19. | It happened, when his master heard the words of his wife, which she spoke to him, saying, "This is what your servant did to me," that his wrath was kindled. | And it came to pass, when his master heard the words of his wife, which she spake unto him, saying, After this manner did thy servant to me; that his wrath was kindled. |

| 21. | But Yahweh was with Joseph, and showed kindness to him, and gave him favor in the sight of the keeper of the prison. | But the LORD was with Joseph, and shewed him mercy, and gave him favour in the sight of the keeper of the prison. |
