1.    On that day Jesus went out of the house, and sat by the seaside.     The same day went Jesus out of the house, and sat by the sea side.     εν τη ημερα εκεινη εξελθων ο ιησους της οικιας εκαθητο παρα την θαλασσαν     And in that day Jesus, having gone forth from the house, was sitting by the sea,     in illo die exiens Iesus de domo sedebat secus mare
 
2.    Great multitudes gathered to him, so that he entered into a boat, and sat, and all the multitude stood on the beach.     And great multitudes were gathered together unto him, so that he went into a ship, and sat; and the whole multitude stood on the shore.     και συνηχθησαν προς αυτον οχλοι πολλοι ωστε αυτον εις πλοιον εμβαντα καθησθαι και πας ο οχλος επι τον αιγιαλον ειστηκει     and gathered together unto him were many multitudes, so that he having gone into the boat did sit down, and all the multitude on the beach did stand,     et congregatae sunt ad eum turbae multae ita ut in naviculam ascendens sederet et omnis turba stabat in litore
 
3.    He spoke to them many things in parables, saying, "Behold, a farmer went out to sow.     And he spake many things unto them in parables, saying, Behold, a sower went forth to sow;     και ελαλησεν αυτοις πολλα εν παραβολαις λεγων ιδου εξηλθεν ο σπειρων του σπειρειν     and he spake to them many things in similes, saying: `Lo, the sower went forth to sow,     et locutus est eis multa in parabolis dicens ecce exiit qui seminat seminare
 
4.    As he sowed, some seeds fell by the roadside, and the birds came and devoured them.     And when he sowed, some seeds fell by the way side, and the fowls came and devoured them up:     και εν τω σπειρειν αυτον α μεν επεσεν παρα την οδον και ελθοντα τα πετεινα κατεφαγεν αυτα     and in his sowing, some indeed fell by the way, and the fowls did come and devour them,     et dum seminat quaedam ceciderunt secus viam et venerunt volucres et comederunt ea
 
5.    Others fell on rocky ground, where they didn't have much soil, and immediately they sprang up, because they had no depth of earth.     Some fell upon stony places, where they had not much earth: and forthwith they sprung up, because they had no deepness of earth:     αλλα δε επεσεν επι τα πετρωδη οπου ουκ ειχεν γην πολλην και ευθεως εξανετειλεν δια το μη εχειν βαθος γης     and others fell upon the rocky places, where they had not much earth, and immediately they sprang forth, through not having depth of earth,     alia autem ceciderunt in petrosa ubi non habebat terram multam et continuo exorta sunt quia non habebant altitudinem terrae
 
6.    When the sun had risen, they were scorched. Because they had no root, they withered away.     And when the sun was up, they were scorched; and because they had no root, they withered away.     ηλιου δε ανατειλαντος εκαυματισθη και δια το μη εχειν ριζαν εξηρανθη     and the sun having risen they were scorched, and through not having root, they withered,     sole autem orto aestuaverunt et quia non habebant radicem aruerunt
 
7.    Others fell among thorns. The thorns grew up and choked them.     And some fell among thorns; and the thorns sprung up, and choked them:     αλλα δε επεσεν επι τας ακανθας και ανεβησαν αι ακανθαι και επνιξαν αυτα     and others fell upon the thorns, and the thorns did come up and choke them,     alia autem ceciderunt in spinas et creverunt spinae et suffocaverunt ea
 
8.    Others fell on good soil, and yielded fruit: some one hundred times as much, some sixty, and some thirty.     But other fell into good ground, and brought forth fruit, some an hundredfold, some sixtyfold, some thirtyfold.     αλλα δε επεσεν επι την γην την καλην και εδιδου καρπον ο μεν εκατον ο δε εξηκοντα ο δε τριακοντα     and others fell upon the good ground, and were giving fruit, some indeed a hundredfold, and some sixty, and some thirty.     alia vero ceciderunt in terram bonam et dabant fructum aliud centesimum aliud sexagesimum aliud tricesimum
 
9.    He who has ears to hear, let him hear."     Who hath ears to hear, let him hear.     ο εχων ωτα ακουετω     He who is having ears to hear -- let him hear.`     qui habet aures audiendi audiat
 
10.    The disciples came, and said to him, "Why do you speak to them in parables?"     And the disciples came, and said unto him, Why speakest thou unto them in parables?     και προσελθοντες οι μαθηται ειπαν αυτω δια τι εν παραβολαις λαλεις αυτοις     And the disciples having come near, said to him, `Wherefore in similes dost thou speak to them?`     et accedentes discipuli dixerunt ei quare in parabolis loqueris eis
 
11.    He answered them, "To you it is given to know the mysteries of the Kingdom of Heaven, but it is not given to them.     He answered and said unto them, Because it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given.     ο δε αποκριθεις ειπεν αυτοις οτι υμιν δεδοται γνωναι τα μυστηρια της βασιλειας των ουρανων εκεινοις δε ου δεδοται     And he answering said to them that -- `To you it hath been given to know the secrets of the reign of the heavens, and to these it hath not been given,     qui respondens ait illis quia vobis datum est nosse mysteria regni caelorum illis autem non est datum
 
12.    For whoever has, to him will be given, and he will have abundance, but whoever doesn't have, from him will be taken away even that which he has.     For whosoever hath, to him shall be given, and he shall have more abundance: but whosoever hath not, from him shall be taken away even that he hath.     οστις γαρ εχει δοθησεται αυτω και περισσευθησεται οστις δε ουκ εχει και ο εχει αρθησεται απ αυτου     for whoever hath, it shall be given to him, and he shall have overabundance, and whoever hath not, even that which he hath shall be taken from him.     qui enim habet dabitur ei et abundabit qui autem non habet et quod habet auferetur ab eo
 
13.    Therefore I speak to them in parables, because seeing they don't see, and hearing, they don't hear, neither do they understand.     Therefore speak I to them in parables: because they seeing see not; and hearing they hear not, neither do they understand.     δια τουτο εν παραβολαις αυτοις λαλω οτι βλεποντες ου βλεπουσιν και ακουοντες ουκ ακουουσιν ουδε συνιουσιν     `Because of this, in similes do I speak to them, because seeing they do not see, and hearing they do not hear, nor understand,     ideo in parabolis loquor eis quia videntes non vident et audientes non audiunt neque intellegunt
 
14.    In them the prophecy of Isaiah is fulfilled, which says,  'By hearing you will hear, and will in no way understand; Seeing you will see, and will in no way perceive:     And in them is fulfilled the prophecy of Esaias, which saith, By hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall see, and shall not perceive:     και αναπληρουται αυτοις η προφητεια ησαιου η λεγουσα ακοη ακουσετε και ου μη συνητε και βλεποντες βλεψετε και ου μη ιδητε     and fulfilled on them is the prophecy of Isaiah, that saith, With hearing ye shall hear, and ye shall not understand, and seeing ye shall see, and ye shall not perceive,     et adimpletur eis prophetia Esaiae dicens auditu audietis et non intellegetis et videntes videbitis et non videbitis
 
15.    for this people's heart has grown callous, their ears are dull of hearing, they have closed their eyes; or else perhaps they might perceive with their eyes, hear with their ears, understand with their heart, and should turn again; and I would heal them.'{Isaiah 6:9-10}     For this people's heart is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears, and should understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.     επαχυνθη γαρ η καρδια του λαου τουτου και τοις ωσιν βαρεως ηκουσαν και τους οφθαλμους αυτων εκαμμυσαν μηποτε ιδωσιν τοις οφθαλμοις και τοις ωσιν ακουσωσιν και τη καρδια συνωσιν και επιστρεψωσιν και ιασομαι αυτους     for made gross was the heart of this people, and with the ears they heard heavily, and their eyes they did close, lest they might see with the eyes, and with the ears might hear, and with the heart understand, and turn back, and I might heal them.     incrassatum est enim cor populi huius et auribus graviter audierunt et oculos suos cluserunt nequando oculis videant et auribus audiant et corde intellegant et convertantur et sanem eos
 
16.    "But blessed are your eyes, for they see; and your ears, for they hear.     But blessed are your eyes, for they see: and your ears, for they hear.     υμων δε μακαριοι οι οφθαλμοι οτι βλεπουσιν και τα ωτα υμων οτι ακουουσιν     `And happy are your eyes because they see, and your ears because they hear,     vestri autem beati oculi quia vident et aures vestrae quia audiunt
 
17.    For most certainly I tell you that many prophets and righteous men desired to see the things which you see, and didn't see them; and to hear the things which you hear, and didn't hear them.     For verily I say unto you, That many prophets and righteous men have desired to see those things which ye see, and have not seen them; and to hear those things which ye hear, and have not heard them.     αμην γαρ λεγω υμιν οτι πολλοι προφηται και δικαιοι επεθυμησαν ιδειν α βλεπετε και ουκ ειδαν και ακουσαι α ακουετε και ουκ ηκουσαν     for verily I say to you, that many prophets and righteous men did desire to see that which ye look on, and they did not see, and to hear that which ye hear, and they did not hear.     amen quippe dico vobis quia multi prophetae et iusti cupierunt videre quae videtis et non viderunt et audire quae auditis et non audierunt
 
18.    "Hear, then, the parable of the farmer.     Hear ye therefore the parable of the sower.     υμεις ουν ακουσατε την παραβολην του σπειραντοσ     `Ye, therefore, hear ye the simile of the sower:     vos ergo audite parabolam seminantis
 
19.    When anyone hears the word of the Kingdom, and doesn't understand it, the evil one comes, and snatches away that which has been sown in his heart. This is what was sown by the roadside.     When any one heareth the word of the kingdom, and understandeth it not, then cometh the wicked one, and catcheth away that which was sown in his heart. This is he which received seed by the way side.     παντος ακουοντος τον λογον της βασιλειας και μη συνιεντος ερχεται ο πονηρος και αρπαζει το εσπαρμενον εν τη καρδια αυτου ουτος εστιν ο παρα την οδον σπαρεις     Every one hearing the word of the reign, and not understanding -- the evil one doth come, and doth catch that which hath been sown in his heart; this is that sown by the way.     omnis qui audit verbum regni et non intellegit venit malus et rapit quod seminatum est in corde eius hic est qui secus viam seminatus est
 
20.    What was sown on the rocky places, this is he who hears the word, and immediately with joy receives it;     But he that received the seed into stony places, the same is he that heareth the word, and anon with joy receiveth it;     ο δε επι τα πετρωδη σπαρεις ουτος εστιν ο τον λογον ακουων και ευθυς μετα χαρας λαμβανων αυτον     `And that sown on the rocky places, this is he who is hearing the word, and immediately with joy is receiving it,     qui autem supra petrosa seminatus est hic est qui verbum audit et continuo cum gaudio accipit illud
 
21.    yet he has no root in himself, but endures for a while. When oppression or persecution arises because of the word, immediately he stumbles.     Yet hath he not root in himself, but dureth for a while: for when tribulation or persecution ariseth because of the word, by and by he is offended.     ουκ εχει δε ριζαν εν εαυτω αλλα προσκαιρος εστιν γενομενης δε θλιψεως η διωγμου δια τον λογον ευθυς σκανδαλιζεται     and he hath not root in himself, but is temporary, and persecution or tribulation having happened because of the word, immediately he is stumbled.     non habet autem in se radicem sed est temporalis facta autem tribulatione et persecutione propter verbum continuo scandalizatur
 
22.    What was sown among the thorns, this is he who hears the word, but the cares of this age and the deceitfulness of riches choke the word, and he becomes unfruitful.     He also that received seed among the thorns is he that heareth the word; and the care of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, choke the word, and he becometh unfruitful.     ο δε εις τας ακανθας σπαρεις ουτος εστιν ο τον λογον ακουων και η μεριμνα του αιωνος και η απατη του πλουτου συμπνιγει τον λογον και ακαρπος γινεται     `And that sown toward the thorns, this is he who is hearing the word, and the anxiety of this age, and the deceitfulness of the riches, do choke the word, and it becometh unfruitful.     qui autem est seminatus in spinis hic est qui verbum audit et sollicitudo saeculi istius et fallacia divitiarum suffocat verbum et sine fructu efficitur
 
23.    What was sown on the good ground, this is he who hears the word, and understands it, who most certainly bears fruit, and brings forth, some one hundred times as much, some sixty, and some thirty."     But he that received seed into the good ground is he that heareth the word, and understandeth it; which also beareth fruit, and bringeth forth, some an hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty.     ο δε επι την  καλην γην σπαρεις ουτος εστιν ο τον λογον ακουων και συνιεισ ος δη καρποφορει και ποιει ο μεν εκατον ο δε εξηκοντα ο δε τριακοντα     `And that sown on the good ground: this is he who is hearing the word, and is understanding, who indeed doth bear fruit, and doth make, some indeed a hundredfold, and some sixty, and some thirty.`     qui vero in terra bona seminatus est hic est qui audit verbum et intellegit et fructum adfert et facit aliud quidem centum aliud autem sexaginta porro aliud triginta
 
24.    He set another parable before them, saying, "The Kingdom of Heaven is like a man who sowed good seed in his field,     Another parable put he forth unto them, saying, The kingdom of heaven is likened unto a man which sowed good seed in his field:     αλλην παραβολην παρεθηκεν αυτοις λεγων ωμοιωθη η βασιλεια των ουρανων ανθρωπω σπειραντι καλον σπερμα εν τω αγρω αυτου     Another simile he set before them, saying: `The reign of the heavens was likened to a man sowing good seed in his field,     aliam parabolam proposuit illis dicens simile factum est regnum caelorum homini qui seminavit bonum semen in agro suo
 
25.    but while people slept, his enemy came and sowed darnel weeds{darnel is a weed grass (probably bearded darnel or lolium temulentum) that looks very much like wheat until it is mature, when the difference becomes very apparent.} also among the wheat, and went away.     But while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat, and went his way.     εν δε τω καθευδειν τους ανθρωπους ηλθεν αυτου ο εχθρος και επεσπειρεν ζιζανια ανα μεσον του σιτου και απηλθεν     and, while men are sleeping, his enemy came and sowed darnel in the midst of the wheat, and went away,     cum autem dormirent homines venit inimicus eius et superseminavit zizania in medio tritici et abiit
 
26.    But when the blade sprang up and brought forth fruit, then the darnel weeds appeared also.     But when the blade was sprung up, and brought forth fruit, then appeared the tares also.     οτε δε εβλαστησεν ο χορτος και καρπον εποιησεν τοτε εφανη και τα ζιζανια     and when the herb sprang up, and yielded fruit, then appeared also the darnel.     cum autem crevisset herba et fructum fecisset tunc apparuerunt et zizania
 
27.    The servants of the householder came and said to him, 'Sir, didn't you sow good seed in your field? Where did this darnel come from?'     So the servants of the householder came and said unto him, Sir, didst not thou sow good seed in thy field? from whence then hath it tares?     προσελθοντες δε οι δουλοι του οικοδεσποτου ειπον αυτω κυριε ουχι καλον σπερμα εσπειρας εν τω σω αγρω ποθεν ουν εχει ζιζανια     `And the servants of the householder, having come near, said to him, Sir, good seed didst thou not sow in thy field? whence then hath it the darnel?     accedentes autem servi patris familias dixerunt ei domine nonne bonum semen seminasti in agro tuo unde ergo habet zizania
 
28.    "He said to them, 'An enemy has done this.' "The servants asked him, 'Do you want us to go and gather them up?'     He said unto them, An enemy hath done this. The servants said unto him, Wilt thou then that we go and gather them up?     ο δε εφη αυτοις εχθρος ανθρωπος τουτο εποιησεν οι δε δουλοι λεγουσιν αυτω θελεις ουν απελθοντες συλλεξωμεν αυτα     And he saith to them, A man, an enemy, did this; and the servants said to him, Wilt thou, then, that having gone away we may gather it up?     et ait illis inimicus homo hoc fecit servi autem dixerunt ei vis imus et colligimus ea
 
29.    "But he said, 'No, lest perhaps while you gather up the darnel weeds, you root up the wheat with them.     But he said, Nay; lest while ye gather up the tares, ye root up also the wheat with them.     ο δε φησιν ου μηποτε συλλεγοντες τα ζιζανια εκριζωσητε αμα αυτοις τον σιτον     `And he said, No, lest -- gathering up the darnel -- ye root up with it the wheat,     et ait non ne forte colligentes zizania eradicetis simul cum eis et triticum
 
30.    Let both grow together until the harvest, and in the harvest time I will tell the reapers, "First, gather up the darnel weeds, and bind them in bundles to burn them; but gather the wheat into my barn."'"     Let both grow together until the harvest: and in the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather ye together first the tares, and bind them in bundles to burn them: but gather the wheat into my barn.     αφετε συναυξανεσθαι αμφοτερα εωσ του θερισμου και εν καιρω του θερισμου ερω τοις θερισταις συλλεξατε πρωτον τα ζιζανια και δησατε αυτα εις δεσμας προς το κατακαυσαι αυτα τον δε σιτον συναγαγετε εις την αποθηκην μου     suffer both to grow together till the harvest, and in the time of the harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather up first the darnel, and bind it in bundles, to burn it, and the wheat gather up into my storehouse.`     sinite utraque crescere usque ad messem et in tempore messis dicam messoribus colligite primum zizania et alligate ea fasciculos ad conburendum triticum autem congregate in horreum meum
 
31.    He set another parable before them, saying, "The Kingdom of Heaven is like a grain of mustard seed, which a man took, and sowed in his field;     Another parable put he forth unto them, saying, The kingdom of heaven is like to a grain of mustard seed, which a man took, and sowed in his field:     αλλην παραβολην παρεθηκεν αυτοις λεγων ομοια εστιν η βασιλεια των ουρανων κοκκω σιναπεως ον λαβων ανθρωπος εσπειρεν εν τω αγρω αυτου     Another simile he set before them, saying: `The reign of the heavens is like to a grain of mustard, which a man having taken, did sow in his field,     aliam parabolam proposuit eis dicens simile est regnum caelorum grano sinapis quod accipiens homo seminavit in agro suo
 
32.    which indeed is smaller than all seeds. But when it is grown, it is greater than the herbs, and becomes a tree, so that the birds of the air come and lodge in its branches."     Which indeed is the least of all seeds: but when it is grown, it is the greatest among herbs, and becometh a tree, so that the birds of the air come and lodge in the branches thereof.     ο μικροτερον μεν εστιν παντων των σπερματων οταν δε αυξηθη μειζον των λαχανων εστιν και γινεται δενδρον ωστε ελθειν τα πετεινα του ουρανου και κατασκηνουν εν τοις κλαδοις αυτου     which less, indeed, is than all the seeds, but when it may be grown, is greatest of the herbs, and becometh a tree, so that the birds of the heaven do come and rest in its branches.`     quod minimum quidem est omnibus seminibus cum autem creverit maius est omnibus holeribus et fit arbor ita ut volucres caeli veniant et habitent in ramis eius
 
33.    He spoke another parable to them. "The Kingdom of Heaven is like yeast, which a woman took, and hid in three measures{literally, three sata. 3 sata is about 39 litres or a bit more than a bushel} of meal, until it was all leavened."     Another parable spake he unto them; The kingdom of heaven is like unto leaven, which a woman took, and hid in three measures of meal, till the whole was leavened.     αλλην παραβολην ελαλησεν αυτοις ομοια εστιν η βασιλεια των ουρανων ζυμη ην λαβουσα γυνη ενεκρυψεν εις αλευρου σατα τρια εως ου εζυμωθη ολον     Another simile spake he to them: `The reign of the heavens is like to leaven, which a woman having taken, hid in three measures of meal, till the whole was leavened.`     aliam parabolam locutus est eis simile est regnum caelorum fermento quod acceptum mulier abscondit in farinae satis tribus donec fermentatum est totum
 
34.    Jesus spoke all these things in parables to the multitudes; and without a parable, he didn't speak to them,     All these things spake Jesus unto the multitude in parables; and without a parable spake he not unto them:     ταυτα παντα ελαλησεν ο ιησους εν παραβολαις τοις οχλοις και χωρις παραβολης ουδεν ελαλει αυτοις     All these things spake Jesus in similes to the multitudes, and without a simile he was not speaking to them,     haec omnia locutus est Iesus in parabolis ad turbas et sine parabolis non loquebatur eis
 
35.    that it might be fulfilled which was spoken through the prophet, saying,  "I will open my mouth in parables; I will utter things hidden from the foundation of the world."{Psalm 78:2}     That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, saying, I will open my mouth in parables; I will utter things which have been kept secret from the foundation of the world.     οπως πληρωθη το ρηθεν δια του προφητου λεγοντος ανοιξω εν παραβολαις το στομα μου ερευξομαι κεκρυμμενα απο καταβολης [κοσμου]     that it might be fulfilled that was spoken through the prophet, saying, `I will open in similes my mouth, I will utter things having been hidden from the foundation of the world.`     ut impleretur quod dictum erat per prophetam dicentem aperiam in parabolis os meum eructabo abscondita a constitutione mundi
 
36.    Then Jesus sent the multitudes away, and went into the house. His disciples came to him, saying, "Explain to us the parable of the darnel weeds of the field."     Then Jesus sent the multitude away, and went into the house: and his disciples came unto him, saying, Declare unto us the parable of the tares of the field.     τοτε αφεις τους οχλους ηλθεν εις την οικιαν  και προσηλθον αυτω οι μαθηται αυτου λεγοντες διασαφησον ημιν την παραβολην των ζιζανιων του αγρου     Then having let away the multitudes, Jesus came to the house, and his disciples came near to him, saying, `Explain to us the simile of the darnel of the field.`     tunc dimissis turbis venit in domum et accesserunt ad eum discipuli eius dicentes dissere nobis parabolam zizaniorum agri
 
37.    He answered them, "He who sows the good seed is the Son of Man,     He answered and said unto them, He that soweth the good seed is the Son of man;     ο δε αποκριθεις ειπεν ο σπειρων το καλον σπερμα εστιν ο υιος του ανθρωπου     And he answering said to them, `He who is sowing the good seed is the Son of Man,     qui respondens ait qui seminat bonum semen est Filius hominis
 
38.    the field is the world; and the good seed, these are the children of the Kingdom; and the darnel weeds are the children of the evil one.     The field is the world; the good seed are the children of the kingdom; but the tares are the children of the wicked one;     ο δε αγρος εστιν ο κοσμος το δε καλον σπερμα ουτοι εισιν οι υιοι της βασιλειας τα δε ζιζανια εισιν οι υιοι του πονηρου     and the field is the world, and the good seed, these are the sons of the reign, and the darnel are the sons of the evil one,     ager autem est mundus bonum vero semen hii sunt filii regni zizania autem filii sunt nequam
 
39.    The enemy who sowed them is the devil. The harvest is the end of the age, and the reapers are angels.     The enemy that sowed them is the devil; the harvest is the end of the world; and the reapers are the angels.     ο δε εχθρος ο σπειρας αυτα εστιν ο διαβολος ο δε θερισμος συντελεια αιωνος εστιν οι δε θερισται αγγελοι εισιν     and the enemy who sowed them is the devil, and the harvest is a full end of the age, and the reapers are messengers.     inimicus autem qui seminavit ea est diabolus messis vero consummatio saeculi est messores autem angeli sunt
 
40.    As therefore the darnel weeds are gathered up and burned with fire; so will it be at the end of this age.     As therefore the tares are gathered and burned in the fire; so shall it be in the end of this world.     ωσπερ ουν συλλεγεται τα ζιζανια και πυρι <κατακαιεται>  ουτως εσται εν τη συντελεια του αιωνος     `As, then, the darnel is gathered up, and is burned with fire, so shall it be in the full end of this age,     sicut ergo colliguntur zizania et igni conburuntur sic erit in consummatione saeculi
 
41.    The Son of Man will send out his angels, and they will gather out of his Kingdom all things that cause stumbling, and those who do iniquity,     The Son of man shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all things that offend, and them which do iniquity;     αποστελει ο υιος του ανθρωπου τους αγγελους αυτου και συλλεξουσιν εκ της βασιλειας αυτου παντα τα σκανδαλα και τους ποιουντας την ανομιαν     the Son of Man shall send forth his messengers, and they shall gather up out of his kingdom all the stumbling-blocks, and those doing the unlawlessness,     mittet Filius hominis angelos suos et colligent de regno eius omnia scandala et eos qui faciunt iniquitatem
 
42.    and will cast them into the furnace of fire. There will be weeping and the gnashing of teeth.     And shall cast them into a furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth.     και βαλουσιν αυτους εις την καμινον του πυρος εκει εσται ο κλαυθμος και ο βρυγμος των οδοντων     and shall cast them to the furnace of the fire; there shall be the weeping and the gnashing of the teeth.     et mittent eos in caminum ignis ibi erit fletus et stridor dentium
 
43.    Then the righteous will shine forth like the sun in the Kingdom of their Father. He who has ears to hear, let him hear.     Then shall the righteous shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father. Who hath ears to hear, let him hear.     τοτε οι δικαιοι εκλαμψουσιν ως ο ηλιος εν τη βασιλεια του πατρος αυτων ο εχων ωτα ακουετω     `Then shall the righteous shine forth as the sun in the reign of their Father. He who is having ears to hear -- let him hear.     tunc iusti fulgebunt sicut sol in regno Patris eorum qui habet aures audiat
 
44.    "Again, the Kingdom of Heaven is like a treasure hidden in the field, which a man found, and hid. In his joy, he goes and sells all that he has, and buys that field.     Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto treasure hid in a field; the which when a man hath found, he hideth, and for joy thereof goeth and selleth all that he hath, and buyeth that field.     ομοια εστιν η βασιλεια των ουρανων θησαυρω κεκρυμμενω εν τω αγρω ον ευρων ανθρωπος εκρυψεν και απο της χαρας αυτου υπαγει και πωλει παντα οσα εχει και αγοραζει τον αγρον εκεινον     `Again, the reign of the heavens is like to treasure hid in the field, which a man having found did hide, and from his joy goeth, and all, as much as he hath, he selleth, and buyeth that field.     simile est regnum caelorum thesauro abscondito in agro quem qui invenit homo abscondit et prae gaudio illius vadit et vendit universa quae habet et emit agrum illum
 
45.    "Again, the Kingdom of Heaven is like a man who is a merchant seeking fine pearls,     Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto a merchant man, seeking goodly pearls:     παλιν ομοια εστιν η βασιλεια των ουρανων ανθρωπω εμπορω ζητουντι καλους μαργαριτας     `Again, the reign of the heavens is like to a man, a merchant, seeking goodly pearls,     iterum simile est regnum caelorum homini negotiatori quaerenti bonas margaritas
 
46.    who having found one pearl of great price, he went and sold all that he had, and bought it.     Who, when he had found one pearl of great price, went and sold all that he had, and bought it.     ευρων δε ενα πολυτιμον μαργαριτην απελθων πεπρακεν παντα οσα ειχεν και ηγορασεν αυτον     who having found one pearl of great price, having gone away, hath sold all, as much as he had, and bought it.     inventa autem una pretiosa margarita abiit et vendidit omnia quae habuit et emit eam
 
47.    "Again, the Kingdom of Heaven is like a dragnet, that was cast into the sea, and gathered some fish of every kind,     Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto a net, that was cast into the sea, and gathered of every kind:     παλιν ομοια εστιν η βασιλεια των ουρανων σαγηνη βληθειση εις την θαλασσαν και εκ παντος γενους συναγαγουση     `Again, the reign of the heavens is like to a net that was cast into the sea, and did gather together of every kind,     iterum simile est regnum caelorum sagenae missae in mare et ex omni genere congreganti
 
48.    which, when it was filled, they drew up on the beach. They sat down, and gathered the good into containers, but the bad they threw away.     Which, when it was full, they drew to shore, and sat down, and gathered the good into vessels, but cast the bad away.     ην οτε επληρωθη αναβιβασαντες επι τον αιγιαλον και καθισαντες συνελεξαν τα καλα εις αγγη τα δε σαπρα εξω εβαλον     which, when it was filled, having drawn up again upon the beach, and having sat down, they gathered the good into vessels, and the bad they did cast out,     quam cum impleta esset educentes et secus litus sedentes elegerunt bonos in vasa malos autem foras miserunt
 
49.    So will it be in the end of the world. The angels will come forth, and separate the wicked from among the righteous,     So shall it be at the end of the world: the angels shall come forth, and sever the wicked from among the just,     ουτως εσται εν τη συντελεια του αιωνος εξελευσονται οι αγγελοι και αφοριουσιν τους πονηρους εκ μεσου των δικαιων     so shall it be in the full end of the age, the messengers shall come forth and separate the evil out of the midst of the righteous,     sic erit in consummatione saeculi exibunt angeli et separabunt malos de medio iustorum
 
50.    and will cast them into the furnace of fire. 51.    Jesus said to them, "Have you understood all these things?" They answered him, "Yes, Lord."     Jesus saith unto them, Have ye understood all these things? They say unto him, Yea, Lord.     συνηκατε ταυτα παντα λεγουσιν αυτω ναι     Jesus saith to them, `Did ye understand all these?` They say to him, `Yes, sir.`     intellexistis haec omnia dicunt ei etiam
 
52.    He said to them, "Therefore, every scribe who has been made a disciple in the Kingdom of Heaven is like a man who is a householder, who brings out of his treasure new and old things."     Then said he unto them, Therefore every scribe which is instructed unto the kingdom of heaven is like unto a man that is an householder, which bringeth forth out of his treasure things new and old.     ο δε ειπεν αυτοις δια τουτο πας γραμματευς μαθητευθεις τη βασιλεια  των ουρανων ομοιος εστιν ανθρωπω οικοδεσποτη οστις εκβαλλει εκ του θησαυρου αυτου καινα και παλαια     And he said to them, `Because of this every scribe having been discipled in regard to the reign of the heavens, is like to a man, a householder, who doth bring forth out of his treasure things new and old.`     ait illis ideo omnis scriba doctus in regno caelorum similis est homini patri familias qui profert de thesauro suo nova et vetera
 
53.    It happened that when Jesus had finished these parables, he departed from there.     And it came to pass, that when Jesus had finished these parables, he departed thence.     και εγενετο οτε ετελεσεν ο ιησους τας παραβολας ταυτας μετηρεν εκειθεν     And it came to pass, when Jesus finished these similes, he removed thence,     et factum est cum consummasset Iesus parabolas istas transiit inde
 
54.    Coming into his own country, he taught them in their synagogue, so that they were astonished, and said, "Where did this man get this wisdom, and these mighty works?     And when he was come into his own country, he taught them in their synagogue, insomuch that they were astonished, and said, Whence hath this man this wisdom, and these mighty works?     και ελθων εις την πατριδα αυτου εδιδασκεν αυτους εν τη συναγωγη αυτων ωστε εκπλησσεσθαι αυτους και λεγειν ποθεν τουτω η σοφια αυτη και αι δυναμεις     and having come to his own country, he was teaching them in their synagogue, so that they were astonished, and were saying, `Whence to this one this wisdom and the mighty works?     et veniens in patriam suam docebat eos in synagogis eorum ita ut mirarentur et dicerent unde huic sapientia haec et virtutes
 
55.    Isn't this the carpenter's son? Isn't his mother called Mary, and his brothers, James, Joses, Simon, and Judas{or, Judah}?     Is not this the carpenter's son? is not his mother called Mary? and his brethren, James, and Joses, and Simon, and Judas?     ουχ ουτος εστιν ο του τεκτονος υιος ουχ η μητηρ αυτου λεγεται μαριαμ και οι αδελφοι αυτου ιακωβος και ιωσηφ και σιμων και ιουδας     is not this the carpenter`s son? is not his mother called Mary, and his brethren James, and Joses, and Simon, and Judas?     nonne hic est fabri filius nonne mater eius dicitur Maria et fratres eius Iacobus et Ioseph et Simon et Iudas
 
56.    Aren't all of his sisters with us? Where then did this man get all of these things?"     And his sisters, are they not all with us? Whence then hath this man all these things?     και αι αδελφαι αυτου ουχι πασαι προς ημας εισιν ποθεν ουν τουτω ταυτα παντα     and his sisters -- are they not all with us? whence, then, to this one all these?`     et sorores eius nonne omnes apud nos sunt unde ergo huic omnia ista
 
57.    They were offended by him. But Jesus said to them, "A prophet is not without honor, except in his own country, and in his own house."     And they were offended in him. But Jesus said unto them, A prophet is not without honour, save in his own country, and in his own house.     και εσκανδαλιζοντο εν αυτω ο δε ιησους ειπεν αυτοις ουκ εστιν προφητης ατιμος ει μη εν τη πατριδι και εν τη οικια αυτου     and they were stumbled at him. And Jesus said to them, `A prophet is not without honor except in his own country, and in his own house:`     et scandalizabantur in eo Iesus autem dixit eis non est propheta sine honore nisi in patria sua et in domo sua
 
58.    He didn't do many mighty works there because of their unbelief.     And he did not many mighty works there because of their unbelief.     και ουκ εποιησεν εκει δυναμεις πολλας δια την απιστιαν αυτων     and he did not there many mighty works, because of their unbelief.     et non fecit ibi virtutes multas propter incredulitatem illorum
