1.    Now these are the nations which Yahweh left, to prove Israel by them, even as many [of Israel] as had not known all the wars of Canaan;     Now these are the nations which the LORD left, to prove Israel by them, even as many of Israel as had not known all the wars of Canaan;     ואלה  הגוים  אשר

    V'aLH HGVYM 'aShUr HNYCh YHVH LNSVTh BM 'aTh-YShUr'aL 'aTh KL-'aShUr L'a-YD'yV 'aTh KL-MLChMVTh KN'yN.     And these are the nations which Jehovah left, to try Israel by them, all who have not known all the wars of Canaan;     hae sunt gentes quas Dominus dereliquit ut erudiret in eis Israhelem et omnes qui non noverant bella Chananeorum

    ChMShTh SUrNY PhLShThYM VKL-HKN'yNY VHTShYDNY VHChVY YShB HUr HLBNVN MHUr B'yL ChUrMVN 'yD LBV'a ChMTh.     five princes of the Philistines, and all the Canaanite, and the Zidonian, and the Hivite inhabiting mount Lebanon, from mount Baal-Hermon unto the entering in of Hamath;     quinque satrapas Philisthinorum omnemque Chananeum et Sidonium atque Eveum qui habitabat in monte Libano de monte Baalhermon usque ad introitum Emath
 
4.    They were [left], to prove Israel by them, to know whether they would listen to the commandments of Yahweh, which he commanded their fathers by Moses.     And they were to prove Israel by them, to know whether they would hearken unto the commandments of the LORD, which he commanded their fathers by the hand of Moses.     ויהיו  לנסות  בם 
את־ישראל  לדעת

יהוה  אשר־צוה  את־
אבותם  ביד־משה׃
    VYHYV LNSVTh BM 'aTh-YShUr'aL LD'yTh HYShM'yV 'aTh-MTShVTh YHVH 'aShUr-TShVH 'aTh- 'aBVThM BYD-MShH.     and they are to prove Israel by them, to know whether they obey the commands of Jehovah that He commanded their fathers by the hand of Moses.     dimisitque eos ut in ipsis experiretur Israhelem utrum audiret mandata Domini quae praeceperat patribus eorum per manum Mosi an non
 
5.    The children of Israel lived among the Canaanites, the Hittites, and the Amorites, and the Perizzites, and the Hivites, and the Jebusites:     And the children of Israel dwelt among the Canaanites, Hittites, and Amorites, and Perizzites, and Hivites, and Jebusites:     ובני  ישראל  ישבו 
בקרב  הכנעני  החתי
והאמרי  והפרזי
והחוי  והיבוסי׃
    VBNY YShUr'aL YShBV BQUrB HKN'yNY HChThY VH'aMUrY VHPhUrZY VHChVY VHYBVSY.     And the sons of Israel have dwelt in the midst of the Canaanite, the Hittite, and the Amorite, and the Perizzite, and the Hivite, and the Jebusite,     itaque filii Israhel habitaverunt in medio Chananei et Hetthei et Amorrei et Ferezei et Evei et Iebusei

7.    The children of Israel did that which was evil in the sight of Yahweh, and forgot Yahweh their God, and served the Baals and the Asheroth.     And the children of Israel did evil in the sight of the LORD, and forgat the LORD their God, and served Baalim and the groves.     ויעשו  בני־ישראל 
את־הרע  בעיני  יהוה
וישכחו  את־יהוה
אלהיהם  ויעבדו
את־הבעלים
ואת־האשרות׃
    VY'yShV BNY-YShUr'aL 'aTh-HUr'y B'yYNY YHVH VYShKChV 'aTh-YHVH 'aLHYHM VY'yBDV 'aTh-HB'yLYM V'aTh-H'aShUrVTh.     and the sons of Israel do the evil thing in the eyes of Jehovah, and forget Jehovah their God, and serve the Baalim and the shrines.     feceruntque malum in conspectu Domini et obliti sunt Dei sui servientes Baalim et Astharoth
 
8.    Therefore the anger of Yahweh was kindled against Israel, and he sold them into the hand of Cushan Rishathaim king of Mesopotamia: and the children of Israel served Cushan Rishathaim eight years.     Therefore the anger of the LORD was hot against Israel, and he sold them into the hand of Chushanrishathaim king of Mesopotamia: and the children of Israel served Chushanrishathaim eight years.     ויחר־אף  יהוה 
בישראל  וימכרם  ביד
כושן  רשעתים  מלך
ארם  נהרים  ויעבדו
בני־ישראל  את־כושן
רשעתים  שמנה  שנים׃
    VYChUr-'aPh YHVH BYShUr'aL VYMKUrM BYD KVShN UrSh'yThYM MLK 'aUrM NHUrYM VY'yBDV BNY-YShUr'aL 'aTh-KVShN UrSh'yThYM ShMNH ShNYM.     And the anger of Jehovah burneth against Israel, and He selleth them into the hand of Chushan-Rishathaim king of Aram-Naharaim, and the sons of Israel serve Chushan-Rishathaim eight years;     iratusque Dominus contra Israhel tradidit eos in manus Chusanrasathaim regis Mesopotamiae servieruntque ei octo annis
 
9.    When the children of Israel cried to Yahweh, Yahweh raised up a savior to the children of Israel, who saved them, even Othniel the son of Kenaz, Caleb's younger brother.     And when the children of Israel cried unto the LORD, the LORD raised up a deliverer to the children of Israel, who delivered them, even Othniel the son of Kenaz, Caleb's younger brother.     ויזעקו  בני־ישראל 
אל־יהוה  ויקם  יהוה
מושיע  לבני  ישראל
ויושיעם  את  עתניאל
בן־קנז  אחי  כלב
הקטן  ממנו׃
    VYZ'yQV BNY-YShUr'aL 'aL-YHVH VYQM YHVH MVShY'y LBNY YShUr'aL VYVShY'yM 'aTh 'yThNY'aL BN-QNZ 'aChY KLB HQTN MMNV.     and the sons of Israel cry unto Jehovah, and Jehovah raiseth a saviour to the sons of Israel, and he saveth them -- Othniel son of Kenaz, Caleb`s younger brother;     et clamaverunt ad Dominum qui suscitavit eis salvatorem et liberavit eos Othonihel videlicet filium Cenez fratrem Chaleb minorem
 
10.    The Spirit of Yahweh came on him, and he judged Israel; and he went out to war, and Yahweh delivered Cushan Rishathaim king of Mesopotamia into his hand: and his hand prevailed against Cushan Rishathaim.     And the Spirit of the LORD came upon him, and he judged Israel, and went out to war: and the LORD delivered Chushanrishathaim king of Mesopotamia into his hand; and his hand prevailed against Chushanrishathaim.     ותהי  עליו 
רוח־יהוה  וישפט
את־ישראל  ויצא
למלחמה  ויתן  יהוה
בידו  את־כושן
רשעתים  מלך  ארם
ותעז  ידו  על  כושן
רשעתים׃
    VThHY 'yLYV UrVCh-YHVH VYShPhT 'aTh-YShUr'aL VYTSh'a LMLChMH VYThN YHVH BYDV 'aTh-KVShN UrSh'yThYM MLK 'aUrM VTh'yZ YDV 'yL KVShN UrSh'yThYM.     and the Spirit of Jehovah is upon him, and he judgeth Israel, and goeth out to battle, and Jehovah giveth unto his hand Chushan-Rishathaim king of Aram, and strong is his hand against Chushan-Rishathaim;     fuitque in eo spiritus Domini et iudicavit Israhel egressusque est ad pugnam et tradidit Dominus in manu eius Chusanrasathaim regem Syriae et oppressit eum
 
11.    The land had rest forty years. Othniel the son of Kenaz died.     And the land had rest forty years. And Othniel the son of Kenaz died.     ותשקט  הארץ  ארבעים 
שנה  וימת  עתניאל
בן־קנז׃
    VThShQT H'aUrTSh 'aUrB'yYM ShNH VYMTh 'yThNY'aL BN-QNZ.     and the land resteth forty years. And Othniel son of Kenaz dieth,     quievitque terra quadraginta annis et mortuus est Othonihel filius Cenez
 
12.    The children of Israel again did that which was evil in the sight of Yahweh: and Yahweh strengthened Eglon the king of Moab against Israel, because they had done that which was evil in the sight of Yahweh.     And the children of Israel did evil again in the sight of the LORD: and the LORD strengthened Eglon the king of Moab against Israel, because they had done evil in the sight of the LORD.     ויספו  בני  ישראל 
לעשות  הרע  בעיני
יהוה  ויחזק  יהוה
את־עגלון  מלך־
מואב  על־ישראל  על
כי־עשו  את־הרע
בעיני  יהוה׃
    VYSPhV BNY YShUr'aL L'yShVTh HUr'y B'yYNY YHVH VYChZQ YHVH 'aTh-'yGLVN MLK- MV'aB 'yL-YShUr'aL 'yL KY-'yShV 'aTh-HUr'y B'yYNY YHVH.     and the sons of Israel add to do the evil thing in the eyes of Jehovah; and Jehovah strengtheneth Eglon king of Moab against Israel, because that they have done the evil thing in the eyes of Jehovah;     addiderunt autem filii Israhel facere malum in conspectu Domini qui confortavit adversum eos Eglon regem Moab quia fecerunt malum in conspectu eius
 
13.    He gathered to him the children of Ammon and Amalek; and he went and struck Israel, and they possessed the city of palm trees.     And he gathered unto him the children of Ammon and Amalek, and went and smote Israel, and possessed the city of palm trees.     ויאסף  אליו  את־בני 
עמון  ועמלק  וילך
ויך  את־ישראל
ויירשו  את־עיר
התמרים׃
    VY'aSPh 'aLYV 'aTh-BNY 'yMVN V'yMLQ VYLK VYK 'aTh-YShUr'aL VYYUrShV 'aTh-'yYUr HThMUrYM.     and he gathereth unto him the Bene-Ammon and Amalek, and goeth and smiteth Israel, and they possess the city of palms;     et copulavit ei filios Ammon et Amalech abiitque et percussit Israhel atque possedit urbem Palmarum
 
14.    The children of Israel served Eglon the king of Moab eighteen years.     So the children of Israel served Eglon the king of Moab eighteen years.     ויעבדו  בני־ישראל 
את־עגלון  מלך־מואב
שמונה  עשרה  שנה׃
    VY'yBDV BNY-YShUr'aL 'aTh-'yGLVN MLK-MV'aB ShMVNH 'yShUrH ShNH.     and the sons of Israel serve Eglon king of Moab eighteen years.     servieruntque filii Israhel Eglon regi Moab decem et octo annis
 
15.    But when the children of Israel cried to Yahweh, Yahweh raised them up a savior, Ehud the son of Gera, the Benjamite, a man left-handed. The children of Israel sent tribute by him to Eglon the king of Moab.     But when the children of Israel cried unto the LORD, the LORD raised them up a deliverer, Ehud the son of Gera, a Benjamite, a man lefthanded: and by him the children of Israel sent a present unto Eglon the king of Moab.     ויזעקו  בני־ישראל 
אל־יהוה  ויקם  יהוה
להם  מושיע  את־אהוד
בן־גרא  בן־הימיני
איש  אטר  יד־ימינו
וישלחו  בני־ישראל
בידו  מנחה  לעגלון
מלך  מואב׃
    VYZ'yQV BNY-YShUr'aL 'aL-YHVH VYQM YHVH LHM MVShY'y 'aTh-'aHVD BN-GUr'a BN-HYMYNY 'aYSh 'aTUr YD-YMYNV VYShLChV BNY-YShUr'aL BYDV MNChH L'yGLVN MLK MV'aB.     And the sons of Israel cry unto Jehovah, and Jehovah raiseth to them a saviour, Ehud son of Gera, a Benjamite (a man -- shut of his right hand), and the sons of Israel send by his hand a present to Eglon king of Moab;     et postea clamaverunt ad Dominum qui suscitavit eis salvatorem vocabulo Ahoth filium Gera filii Iemini qui utraque manu utebatur pro dextera miseruntque filii Israhel per illum munera Eglon regi Moab
 
16.    Ehud made him a sword which had two edges, a cubit in length; and he girded it under his clothing on his right thigh.     But Ehud made him a dagger which had two edges, of a cubit length; and he did gird it under his raiment upon his right thigh.     ויעש  לו  אהוד  חרב 
ולה  שני  פיות  גמד
ארכה  ויחגר  אותה
מתחת  למדיו  על  ירך
ימינו׃
    VY'ySh LV 'aHVD ChUrB VLH ShNY PhYVTh GMD 'aUrKH VYChGUr 'aVThH MThChTh LMDYV 'yL YUrK YMYNV.     and Ehud maketh for himself a sword, and it hath two mouths (a cubit is its length), and he girdeth it under his long robe on his right thigh;     qui fecit sibi gladium ancipitem habentem in medio capulum longitudinis palmae manus et accinctus est eo subter sagum in dextro femore
 
17.    He offered the tribute to Eglon king of Moab: now Eglon was a very fat man.     And he brought the present unto Eglon king of Moab: and Eglon was a very fat man.     ויקרב  את־המנחה

ועגלון  איש  בריא
מאד׃
    VYQUrB 'aTh-HMNChH L'yGLVN MLK MV'aB V'yGLVN 'aYSh BUrY'a M'aD.     and he bringeth near the present to Eglon king of Moab, and Eglon is a very fat man.     obtulitque munera Eglon regi Moab erat autem Eglon crassus nimis
 
18.    When he had made an end of offering the tribute, he sent away the people who bore the tribute.     And when he had made an end to offer the present, he sent away the people that bare the present.     ויהי  כאשר  כלה 
להקריב  את־המנחה
וישלח  את־העם  נשאי
המנחה׃
    VYHY K'aShUr KLH LHQUrYB 'aTh-HMNChH VYShLCh 'aTh-H'yM NSh'aY HMNChH.     And it cometh to pass, when he hath finished to bring near the present, that he sendeth away the people bearing the present,     cumque obtulisset ei munera prosecutus est socios qui cum eo venerant
 
19.    But he himself turned back from the quarries that were by Gilgal, and said, "I have a secret errand to you, king." The king said, "Keep silence!" All who stood by him went out from him.     But he himself turned again from the quarries that were by Gilgal, and said, I have a secret errand unto thee, O king: who said, Keep silence. And all that stood by him went out from him.     והוא  שב 
מן־הפסילים  אשר
את־הגלגל  ויאמר
דבר־סתר  לי  אליך
המלך  ויאמר  הס
ויצאו  מעליו
כל־העמדים  עליו׃
    VHV'a ShB MN-HPhSYLYM 'aShUr 'aTh-HGLGL VY'aMUr DBUr-SThUr LY 'aLYK HMLK VY'aMUr HS VYTSh'aV M'yLYV KL-H'yMDYM 'yLYV.     and he himself hath turned back from the graven images which are at Gilgal, and saith, `A secret word I have unto thee, O king;` and he saith, `Hush!` and go out from him do all those standing by him.     et reversus de Galgalis ubi erant idola dixit ad regem verbum secretum habeo ad te o rex et ille imperavit silentium egressisque omnibus qui circa eum erant
 
20.    Ehud came to him; and he was sitting by himself alone in the cool upper room. Ehud said, "I have a message from God to you." He arose out of his seat.     And Ehud came unto him; and he was sitting in a summer parlour, which he had for himself alone. And Ehud said, I have a message from God unto thee. And he arose out of his seat.     ואהוד  בא  אליו 
והוא־ישב  בעלית
המקרה  אשר־לו  לבדו
ויאמר  אהוד
דבר־אלהים  לי  אליך
ויקם  מעל  הכסא׃
    V'aHVD B'a 'aLYV VHV'a-YShB B'yLYTh HMQUrH 'aShUr-LV LBDV VY'aMUr 'aHVD DBUr-'aLHYM LY 'aLYK VYQM M'yL HKS'a.     And Ehud hath come unto him, and he is sitting in the upper chamber of the wall which he hath for himself, and Ehud saith, `A word of God I have unto thee;` and he riseth from off the throne;     ingressus est Ahoth ad eum sedebat autem in aestivo cenaculo solus dixitque verbum Dei habeo ad te qui statim surrexit de throno
 
21.    Ehud put forth his left hand, and took the sword from his right thigh, and thrust it into his body:     And Ehud put forth his left hand, and took the dagger from his right thigh, and thrust it into his belly:     וישלח  אהוד  את־יד 
שמאלו  ויקח
את־החרב  מעל  ירך
ימינו  ויתקעה
בבטנו׃
    VYShLCh 'aHVD 'aTh-YD ShM'aLV VYQCh 'aTh-HChUrB M'yL YUrK YMYNV VYThQ'yH BBTNV.     and Ehud putteth forth his left hand, and taketh the sword from off his right thigh, and striketh it into his belly;     extenditque Ahoth manum sinistram et tulit sicam de dextro femore suo infixitque eam in ventre eius
 
22.    and the haft also went in after the blade; and the fat closed on the blade, for he didn't draw the sword out of his body; and it came out behind.     And the haft also went in after the blade; and the fat closed upon the blade, so that he could not draw the dagger out of his belly; and the dirt came out.     ויבא  גם־הנצב  אחר 
הלהב  ויסגר  החלב
בעד  הלהב  כי  לא
שלף  החרב  מבטנו
ויצא  הפרשדנה׃
    VYB'a GM-HNTShB 'aChUr HLHB VYSGUr HChLB B'yD HLHB KY L'a ShLPh HChUrB MBTNV VYTSh'a HPhUrShDNH.     and the haft also goeth in after the blade, and the fat shutteth on the blade, that he hath not drawn the sword out of his belly, and it goeth out at the fundament.     tam valide ut capulus ferrum sequeretur in vulnere ac pinguissimo adipe stringeretur nec eduxit gladium sed ita ut percusserat reliquit in corpore statimque per secreta naturae alvi stercora proruperunt
 
23.    Then Ehud went forth into the porch, and shut the doors of the upper room on him, and locked them.     Then Ehud went forth through the porch, and shut the doors of the parlour upon him, and locked them.     ויצא  אהוד 
המסדרונה  ויסגר
דלתות  העליה  בעדו
ונעל׃
    VYTSh'a 'aHVD HMSDUrVNH VYSGUr DLThVTh H'yLYH B'yDV VN'yL.     And Ehud goeth out at the porch, and shutteth the doors of the upper chamber upon him, and hath bolted it;     Ahoth autem clausis diligentissime ostiis cenaculi et obfirmatis sera
 
24.    Now when he was gone out, his servants came; and they saw, and behold, the doors of the upper room were locked; and they said, "Surely he is covering his feet in the upper chamber."     When he was gone out, his servants came; and when they saw that, behold, the doors of the parlour were locked, they said, Surely he covereth his feet in his summer chamber.     והוא  יצא  ועבדיו 
באו  ויראו  והנה
דלתות  העליה  נעלות
ויאמרו  אך  מסיך
הוא  את־רגליו  בחדר
המקרה׃
    VHV'a YTSh'a V'yBDYV B'aV VYUr'aV VHNH DLThVTh H'yLYH N'yLVTh VY'aMUrV 'aK MSYK HV'a 'aTh-UrGLYV BChDUr HMQUrH.     and he hath gone out, and his servants have come in, and look, and lo, the doors of the upper chamber are bolted, and they say, `He is only covering his feet in the inner chamber of the wall.`     per posticam egressus est servique regis ingressi viderunt clausas fores cenaculi atque dixerunt forsitan purgat alvum in aestivo cubiculo
 
25.    They waited until they were ashamed; and behold, he didn't open the doors of the upper room: therefore they took the key, and opened [them], and behold, their lord was fallen down dead on the earth.     And they tarried till they were ashamed: and, behold, he opened not the doors of the parlour; therefore they took a key, and opened them: and, behold, their lord was fallen down dead on the earth.     ויחילו  עד־בוש 
והנה  איננו  פתח
דלתות  העליה  ויקחו
את־המפתח  ויפתחו
והנה  אדניהם  נפל
ארצה  מת׃
    VYChYLV 'yD-BVSh VHNH 'aYNNV PhThCh DLThVTh H'yLYH VYQChV 'aTh-HMPhThCh VYPhThChV VHNH 'aDNYHM NPhL 'aUrTShH MTh.     And they stay till confounded, and lo, he is not opening the doors of the upper chamber, and they take the key, and open, and lo, their lord is fallen to the earth -- dead.     expectantesque diu donec erubescerent et videntes quod nullus aperiret tulerunt clavem et aperientes invenerunt dominum suum iacentem in terra mortuum
 
26.    Ehud escaped while they waited, and passed beyond the quarries, and escaped to Seirah.     And Ehud escaped while they tarried, and passed beyond the quarries, and escaped unto Seirath.     ואהוד  נמלט  עד 
התמהמהם  והוא  עבר
את־הפסילים  וימלט
השעירתה׃
    V'aHVD NMLT 'yD HThMHMHM VHV'a 'yBUr 'aTh-HPhSYLYM VYMLT HSh'yYUrThH.     And Ehud escaped during their tarrying, and hath passed by the images, and is escaped to Seirath.     Ahoth autem dum illi turbarentur effugit et pertransiit locum Idolorum unde reversus fuerat venitque in Seirath
 
27.    It happened, when he had come, that he blew a trumpet in the hill country of Ephraim; and the children of Israel went down with him from the hill country, and he before them.     And it came to pass, when he was come, that he blew a trumpet in the mountain of Ephraim, and the children of Israel went down with him from the mount, and he before them.     ויהי  בבואו  ויתקע 
בשופר  בהר  אפרים
וירדו  עמו
בני־ישראל  מן־ההר
והוא  לפניהם׃
    VYHY BBV'aV VYThQ'y BShVPhUr BHUr 'aPhUrYM VYUrDV 'yMV BNY-YShUr'aL MN-HHUr VHV'a LPhNYHM.     And it cometh to pass, in his coming in, that he bloweth with a trumpet in the hill-country of Ephraim, and go down with him do the sons of Israel from the hill-country, and he before them;     et statim insonuit bucina in monte Ephraim descenderuntque cum eo filii Israhel ipso in fronte gradiente
 
28.    He said to them, "Follow me; for Yahweh has delivered your enemies the Moabites into your hand." They followed him, and took the fords of the Jordan against the Moabites, and didn't allow any man to pass over.     And he said unto them, Follow after me: for the LORD hath delivered your enemies the Moabites into your hand. And they went down after him, and took the fords of Jordan toward Moab, and suffered not a man to pass over.     ויאמר  אלהם  רדפו 
אחרי  כי־נתן  יהוה
את־איביכם  את־מואב
בידכם  וירדו  אחריו
וילכדו  את־מעברות
הירדן  למואב
ולא־נתנו  איש

    VY'aMUr 'aLHM UrDPhV 'aChUrY KY-NThN YHVH 'aTh-'aYBYKM 'aTh-MV'aB BYDKM VYUrDV 'aChUrYV VYLKDV 'aTh-M'yBUrVTh HYUrDN LMV'aB VL'a-NThNV 'aYSh L'yBUr.     and he saith unto them, `Pursue after me, for Jehovah hath given your enemies, the Moabites, into your hand;` and they go down after him, and capture the passages of the Jordan towards Moab, and have not permitted a man to pass over.     qui dixit ad eos sequimini me tradidit enim Dominus inimicos nostros Moabitas in manus nostras descenderuntque post eum et occupaverunt vada Iordanis quae transmittunt in Moab et non dimiserunt transire quemquam
 
29.    They struck of Moab at that time about ten thousand men, every lusty man, and every man of valor; and there escaped not a man.     And they slew of Moab at that time about ten thousand men, all lusty, and all men of valour; and there escaped not a man.     ויכו  את־מואב  בעת

    VYKV 'aTh-MV'aB B'yTh HHY'a K'yShUrTh 'aLPhYM 'aYSh KL-ShMN VKL-'aYSh ChYL VL'a NMLT 'aYSh.     And they smite Moab at that time, about ten thousand men, all robust, and every one a man of valour, and not a man hath escaped,     sed percusserunt Moabitas in tempore illo circiter decem milia omnes robustos et fortes viros nullus eorum evadere potuit
 
30.    So Moab was subdued that day under the hand of Israel. The land had rest eighty years.     So Moab was subdued that day under the hand of Israel. And the land had rest fourscore years.     ותכנע  מואב  ביום 
ההוא  תחת  יד  ישראל
ותשקט  הארץ  שמונים

    VThKN'y MV'aB BYVM HHV'a ThChTh YD YShUr'aL VThShQT H'aUrTSh ShMVNYM ShNH.     and Moab is humbled in that day under the hand of Israel; and the land resteth eighty years.     humiliatusque est Moab die illo sub manu Israhel et quievit terra octoginta annis
 
31.    After him was Shamgar the son of Anath, who struck of the Philistines six hundred men with an oxgoad: and he also saved Israel.     And after him was Shamgar the son of Anath, which slew of the Philistines six hundred men with an ox goad: and he also delivered Israel.     ואחריו  היה  שמגר 
בן־ענת  ויך
את־פלשתים  שש־מאות
איש  במלמד  הבקר
וישע  גם־הוא
את־ישראל׃
    V'aChUrYV HYH ShMGUr BN-'yNTh VYK 'aTh-PhLShThYM ShSh-M'aVTh 'aYSh BMLMD HBQUr VYSh'y GM-HV'a 'aTh-YShUr'aL.     And after him hath been Shamgar son of Anath, and he smiteth the Philistines -- six hundred men -- with an ox-goad, and he saveth -- he also -- Israel.     post hunc fuit Samgar filius Anath qui percussit de Philisthim sescentos viros vomere et ipse quoque defendit Israhel
