1.    The children of Israel again did that which was evil in the sight of Yahweh, when Ehud was dead.     And the children of Israel again did evil in the sight of the LORD, when Ehud was dead.     ויספו  בני  ישראל

    VYSPhV BNY YShUr'aL L'yShVTh HUr'y B'yYNY YHVH V'aHVD MTh.     And the sons of Israel add to do the evil thing in the eyes of Jehovah when Ehud is dead,     addideruntque filii Israhel facere malum in conspectu Domini post mortem Ahoth
 
2.    Yahweh sold them into the hand of Jabin king of Canaan, who reigned in Hazor; the captain of whose army was Sisera, who lived in Harosheth of the Gentiles.     And the LORD sold them into the hand of Jabin king of Canaan, that reigned in Hazor; the captain of whose host was Sisera, which dwelt in Harosheth of the Gentiles.     וימכרם  יהוה  ביד

    VYMKUrM YHVH BYD YBYN MLK-KN'yN 'aShUr MLK BChTShVUr VShUr-TShB'aV SYSUr'a VHV'a YVShB BChUrShTh HGVYM.     and Jehovah selleth them into the hand of Jabin king of Canaan, who hath reigned in Hazor, and the head of his host is Sisera, and he is dwelling in Harosheth of the Goyim;     et tradidit illos Dominus in manu Iabin regis Chanaan qui regnavit in Asor habuitque ducem exercitus sui nomine Sisaram ipse autem habitabat in Aroseth gentium

    VHY'a YVShBTh ThChTh-ThMUr DBVUrH BYN HUrMH VBYN BYTh-'aL BHUr 'aPhUrYM VY'yLV 'aLYH BNY YShUr'aL LMShPhT.     and she is dwelling under the palm-tree of Deborah, between Ramah and Beth-El, in the hill-country of Ephraim, and the sons of Israel go up unto her for judgment.     et sedebat sub palma quae nomine illius vocabatur inter Rama et Bethel in monte Ephraim ascendebantque ad eam filii Israhel in omne iudicium
 
6.    She sent and called Barak the son of Abinoam out of Kedesh Naphtali, and said to him, "Hasn't Yahweh, the God of Israel, commanded, 'Go and draw to Mount Tabor, and take with you ten thousand men of the children of Naphtali and of the children of Zebulun?     And she sent and called Barak the son of Abinoam out of Kedeshnaphtali, and said unto him, Hath not the LORD God of Israel commanded, saying, Go and draw toward mount Tabor, and take with thee ten thousand men of the children of Naphtali and of the children of Zebulun?     ותשלח  ותקרא  לברק

7.    I will draw to you, to the river Kishon, Sisera, the captain of Jabin's army, with his chariots and his multitude; and I will deliver him into your hand.'"     And I will draw unto thee to the river Kishon Sisera, the captain of Jabin's army, with his chariots and his multitude; and I will deliver him into thine hand.     ומשכתי  אליך 
אל־נחל  קישון
את־סיסרא  שר־צבא
יבין  ואת־רכבו

ונתתיהו  בידך׃

8.    Barak said to her, "If you will go with me, then I will go; but if you will not go with me, I will not go."     And Barak said unto her, If thou wilt go with me, then I will go: but if thou wilt not go with me, then I will not go.     ויאמר  אליה  ברק

9.    She said, "I will surely go with you: nevertheless, the journey that you take shall not be for your honor; for Yahweh will sell Sisera into the hand of a woman." Deborah arose, and went with Barak to Kedesh.     And she said, I will surely go with thee: notwithstanding the journey that thou takest shall not be for thine honour; for the LORD shall sell Sisera into the hand of a woman. And Deborah arose, and went with Barak to Kedesh.     ותאמר  הלך  אלך  עמך

    VTh'aMUr HLK 'aLK 'yMK 'aPhS KY L'a ThHYH ThPh'aUrThK 'yL-HDUrK 'aShUr 'aThH HVLK KY BYD-'aShH YMKUr YHVH 'aTh-SYSUr'a VThQM DBVUrH VThLK 'yM-BUrQ QDShH.     and she saith, `I do certainly go with thee; only, surely thy glory is not on the way which thou art going, for into the hand of a woman doth Jehovah sell Sisera;` and Deborah riseth and goeth with Barak to Kedesh.     quae dixit ad eum ibo quidem tecum sed in hac vice tibi victoria non reputabitur quia in manu mulieris tradetur Sisara surrexit itaque Debbora et perrexit cum Barac in Cedes
 
10.    Barak called Zebulun and Naphtali together to Kedesh; and there went up ten thousand men at his feet: and Deborah went up with him.     And Barak called Zebulun and Naphtali to Kedesh; and he went up with ten thousand men at his feet: and Deborah went up with him.     ויזעק  ברק

    VYZ'yQ BUrQ 'aTh-ZBVLN V'aTh-NPhThLY QDShH VY'yL BUrGLYV 'yShUrTh 'aLPhY 'aYSh VTh'yL 'yMV DBVUrH.     And Barak calleth Zebulun and Naphtali to Kedesh, and he goeth up -- at his feet are ten thousand men -- and Deborah goeth up with him.     qui accitis Zabulon et Nepthalim ascendit cum decem milibus pugnatorum habens Debboram in comitatu suo
 
11.    Now Heber the Kenite had separated himself from the Kenites, even from the children of Hobab the brother-in-law of Moses, and had pitched his tent as far as the oak in Zaanannim, which is by Kedesh.     Now Heber the Kenite, which was of the children of Hobab the father in law of Moses, had severed himself from the Kenites, and pitched his tent unto the plain of Zaanaim, which is by Kedesh.     וחבר  הקיני  נפרד

משה  ויט  אהלו
עד־אלון  בצענים
אשר  את־קדש׃
    VChBUr HQYNY NPhUrD MQYN MBNY ChBB ChThN MShH VYT 'aHLV 'yD-'aLVN BTSh'yNYM 'aShUr 'aTh-QDSh.     And Heber the Kenite hath been separated from the Kenite, from the sons of Hobab father-in-law of Moses, and he stretcheth out his tent unto the oak in Zaanaim, which is by Kedesh.     Aber autem Cineus recesserat quondam a ceteris Cineis fratribus suis filiis Obab cognati Mosi et tetenderat tabernacula usque ad vallem quae vocatur Sennim et erat iuxta Cedes
 
12.    They told Sisera that Barak the son of Abinoam was gone up to Mount Tabor.     And they shewed Sisera that Barak the son of Abinoam was gone up to mount Tabor.     ויגדו  לסיסרא  כי

    VYGDV LSYSUr'a KY 'yLH BUrQ BN-'aBYN'yM HUr-ThBVUr.     And they declare to Sisera that Barak son of Abinoam hath gone up to mount Tabor,     nuntiatumque est Sisarae quod ascendisset Barac filius Abinoem in montem Thabor
 
13.    Sisera gathered together all his chariots, even nine hundred chariots of iron, and all the people who were with him, from Harosheth of the Gentiles, to the river Kishon.     And Sisera gathered together all his chariots, even nine hundred chariots of iron, and all the people that were with him, from Harosheth of the Gentiles unto the river of Kishon.     ויזעק  סיסרא

14.    Deborah said to Barak, "Go; for this is the day in which Yahweh has delivered Sisera into your hand. Hasn't Yahweh gone out before you?" So Barak went down from Mount Tabor, and ten thousand men after him.     And Deborah said unto Barak, Up; for this is the day in which the LORD hath delivered Sisera into thine hand: is not the LORD gone out before thee? So Barak went down from mount Tabor, and ten thousand men after him.     ותאמר  דברה  אל־ברק 
קום  כי  זה  היום
אשר  נתן  יהוה
את־סיסרא  בידך  הלא
יהוה  יצא  לפניך
וירד  ברק  מהר  תבור
ועשרת  אלפים  איש
אחריו׃
    VTh'aMUr DBUrH 'aL-BUrQ QVM KY ZH HYVM 'aShUr NThN YHVH 'aTh-SYSUr'a BYDK HL'a YHVH YTSh'a LPhNYK VYUrD BUrQ MHUr ThBVUr V'yShUrTh 'aLPhYM 'aYSh 'aChUrYV.     And Deborah saith unto Barak, `Rise, for this is the day in which Jehovah hath given Sisera into thy hand; hath not Jehovah gone out before thee?` And Barak goeth down from mount Tabor, and ten thousand men after him.     dixitque Debbora ad Barac surge haec est enim dies in qua tradidit Dominus Sisaram in manus tuas en ipse ductor est tuus descendit itaque Barac de monte Thabor et decem milia pugnatorum cum eo
 
15.    Yahweh confused Sisera, and all his chariots, and all his army, with the edge of the sword before Barak; and Sisera alighted from his chariot, and fled away on his feet.     And the LORD discomfited Sisera, and all his chariots, and all his host, with the edge of the sword before Barak; so that Sisera lighted down off his chariot, and fled away on his feet.     ויהם  יהוה 
את־סיסרא
ואת־כל־הרכב
ואת־כל־המחנה
לפי־חרב  לפני  ברק
וירד  סיסרא  מעל
המרכבה  וינס
ברגליו׃
    VYHM YHVH 'aTh-SYSUr'a V'aTh-KL-HUrKB V'aTh-KL-HMChNH LPhY-ChUrB LPhNY BUrQ VYUrD SYSUr'a M'yL HMUrKBH VYNS BUrGLYV.     And Jehovah destroyeth Sisera, and all the chariots, and all the camp, by the mouth of the sword, before Barak, and Sisera cometh down from off the chariot, and fleeth on his feet.     perterruitque Dominus Sisaram et omnes currus eius universamque multitudinem in ore gladii ad conspectum Barac in tantum ut Sisara de curru desiliens pedibus fugeret
 
16.    But Barak pursued after the chariots, and after the army, to Harosheth of the Gentiles: and all the army of Sisera fell by the edge of the sword; there was not a man left.     But Barak pursued after the chariots, and after the host, unto Harosheth of the Gentiles: and all the host of Sisera fell upon the edge of the sword; and there was not a man left.     וברק  רדף  אחרי 
הרכב  ואחרי  המחנה
עד  חרשת  הגוים

17.    However Sisera fled away on his feet to the tent of Jael the wife of Heber the Kenite; for there was peace between Jabin the king of Hazor and the house of Heber the Kenite.     Howbeit Sisera fled away on his feet to the tent of Jael the wife of Heber the Kenite: for there was peace between Jabin the king of Hazor and the house of Heber the Kenite.     וסיסרא  נס  ברגליו

    VSYSUr'a NS BUrGLYV 'aL-'aHL Y'yL 'aShTh ChBUr HQYNY KY ShLVM BYN YBYN MLK-ChTShVUr VBYN BYTh ChBUr HQYNY.     And Sisera hath fled on his feet unto the tent of Jael wife of Heber the Kenite, for peace is between Jabin king of Hazor and the house of Heber the Kenite;     Sisara autem fugiens pervenit ad tentorium Iahel uxoris Aber Cinei erat enim pax inter Iabin regem Asor et domum Aber Cinei
 
18.    Jael went out to meet Sisera, and said to him, "Turn in, my lord, turn in to me; don't be afraid." He came in to her into the tent, and she covered him with a rug.     And Jael went out to meet Sisera, and said unto him, Turn in, my lord, turn in to me; fear not. And when he had turned in unto her into the tent, she covered him with a mantle.     ותצא  יעל  לקראת 
סיסרא  ותאמר  אליו
סורה  אדני  סורה
אלי  אל־תירא  ויסר
אליה  האהלה  ותכסהו
בשמיכה׃
    VThTSh'a Y'yL LQUr'aTh SYSUr'a VTh'aMUr 'aLYV SVUrH 'aDNY SVUrH 'aLY 'aL-ThYUr'a VYSUr 'aLYH H'aHLH VThKSHV BShMYKH.     and Jael goeth out to meet Sisera, and saith unto him, `Turn aside, my lord, turn aside unto me, fear not;` and he turneth aside unto her, into the tent, and she covereth him with a coverlet.     egressa igitur Iahel in occursum Sisarae dixit ad eum intra ad me domine mi intra ne timeas qui ingressus tabernaculum eius et opertus ab ea pallio
 
19.    He said to her, "Please give me a little water to drink; for I am thirsty." She opened a bottle of milk, and gave him drink, and covered him.     And he said unto her, Give me, I pray thee, a little water to drink; for I am thirsty. And she opened a bottle of milk, and gave him drink, and covered him.     ויאמר  אליה 
השקיני־נא  מעט־מים
כי  צמאתי  ותפתח

ותשקהו  ותכסהו׃
    VY'aMUr 'aLYH HShQYNY-N'a M'yT-MYM KY TShM'aThY VThPhThCh 'aTh-N'aVD HChLB VThShQHV VThKSHV.     And he saith unto her, `Give me to drink, I pray thee, a little water, for I am thirsty;` and she openeth the bottle of milk, and giveth him to drink, and covereth him.     dixit ad eam da mihi obsecro paululum aquae quia valde sitio quae aperuit utrem lactis et dedit ei bibere et operuit illum
 
20.    He said to her, "Stand in the door of the tent, and it shall be, when any man comes and inquires of you, and says, 'Is there any man here?' that you shall say, 'No.'"     Again he said unto her, Stand in the door of the tent, and it shall be, when any man doth come and enquire of thee, and say, Is there any man here? that thou shalt say, No.     ויאמר  אליה  עמד

ואמרת  אין׃
    VY'aMUr 'aLYH 'yMD PhThCh H'aHL VHYH 'aM-'aYSh YBV'a VSh'aLK V'aMUr HYSh-PhH 'aYSh V'aMUrTh 'aYN.     And he saith unto her, `Stand at the opening of the tent, and it hath been, if any doth come in, and hath asked thee, and said, Is there a man here? that thou hast said, There is not.`     dixitque Sisara ad eam sta ante ostium tabernaculi et cum venerit aliquis interrogans te et dicens numquid hic est aliquis respondebis nullus est
 
21.    Then Jael Heber's wife took a tent peg, and took a hammer in her hand, and went softly to him, and struck the pin into his temples, and it pierced through into the ground; for he was in a deep sleep; so he swooned and died.     Then Jael Heber's wife took a nail of the tent, and took an hammer in her hand, and went softly unto him, and smote the nail into his temples, and fastened it into the ground: for he was fast asleep and weary. So he died.     ותקח  יעל  אשת־חבר 
את־יתד  האהל  ותשם
את־המקבת  בידה
ותבוא  אליו  בלאט
ותתקע  את־היתד
ברקתו  ותצנח  בארץ
והוא־נרדם  ויעף
וימת׃
    VThQCh Y'yL 'aShTh-ChBUr 'aTh-YThD H'aHL VThShM 'aTh-HMQBTh BYDH VThBV'a 'aLYV BL'aT VThThQ'y 'aTh-HYThD BUrQThV VThTShNCh B'aUrTSh VHV'a-NUrDM VY'yPh VYMTh.     And Jael wife of Heber taketh the pin of the tent, and taketh the hammer in her hand, and goeth unto him gently, and striketh the pin into his temples, and it fasteneth in the earth -- and he hath been fast asleep, and is weary -- and he dieth.     tulit itaque Iahel uxor Aber clavum tabernaculi adsumens pariter malleum et ingressa abscondite et cum silentio posuit supra tempus capitis eius clavum percussumque malleo defixit in cerebrum usque ad terram qui soporem morti socians defecit et mortuus est
 
22.    Behold, as Barak pursued Sisera, Jael came out to meet him, and said to him, "Come, and I will show you the man whom you seek." He came to her; and behold, Sisera lay dead, and the tent peg was in his temples.     And, behold, as Barak pursued Sisera, Jael came out to meet him, and said unto him, Come, and I will shew thee the man whom thou seekest. And when he came into her tent, behold, Sisera lay dead, and the nail was in his temples.     והנה  ברק  רדף 
את־סיסרא  ותצא  יעל
לקראתו  ותאמר  לו
לך  ואראך  את־  האיש
אשר־אתה  מבקש  ויבא
אליה  והנה  סיסרא
נפל  מת  והיתד
ברקתו׃
    VHNH BUrQ UrDPh 'aTh-SYSUr'a VThTSh'a Y'yL LQUr'aThV VTh'aMUr LV LK V'aUr'aK 'aTh- H'aYSh 'aShUr-'aThH MBQSh VYB'a 'aLYH VHNH SYSUr'a NPhL MTh VHYThD BUrQThV.     And lo, Barak is pursuing Sisera, and Jael cometh out to meet him, and saith to him, `Come, and I shew thee the man whom thou art seeking;` and he cometh in unto her, and lo, Sisera is fallen -- dead, and the pin in his temples.     et ecce Barac sequens Sisaram veniebat egressaque Iahel in occursum eius dixit ei veni et ostendam tibi virum quem quaeris qui cum intrasset ad eam vidit Sisaram iacentem mortuum et clavum infixum in tempore eius

24.    The hand of the children of Israel prevailed more and more against Jabin the king of Canaan, until they had destroyed Jabin king of Canaan.     And the hand of the children of Israel prospered, and prevailed against Jabin the king of Canaan, until they had destroyed Jabin king of Canaan.     ותלך  יד  בני־ישראל
