1.    מזמור  לאסף  אל 
אלהים  יהוה  דבר
ויקרא־ארץ
ממזרח־שמש
עד־מבאו׃
    The mighty God, even the LORD, hath spoken, and called the earth from the rising of the sun unto the going down thereof.     {A Psalm by Asaph.} The Mighty One, God, Yahweh, speaks, and calls the earth from sunrise to sunset.     A Psalm. Of Asaph.
The God of gods, even the Lord, has sent out his voice, and the earth is full of fear; from the coming up of the sun to its going down.
 
2.    מציון  מכלל־יפי 
אלהים  הופיע׃
    Out of Zion, the perfection of beauty, God hath shined.     Out of Zion, the perfection of beauty, God shines forth.     From Zion, most beautiful of places, God has sent out his light.
 
3.    יבא  אלהינו 
ואל־יחרש  אש־לפניו
תאכל  וסביביו
נשערה  מאד׃
    Our God shall come, and shall not keep silence: a fire shall devour before him, and it shall be very tempestuous round about him.     Our God comes, and does not keep silent. A fire devours before him. It is very stormy around him.     Our God will come, and will not keep quiet; with fire burning before him, and storm-winds round him.
 
4.    יקרא  אל־השמים  מעל 
ואל־הארץ  לדין
עמו׃
    He shall call to the heavens from above, and to the earth, that he may judge his people.     He calls to the heavens above, to the earth, that he may judge his people:     His voice will go out to the heavens and to the earth, for the judging of his people:
 
5.    אספו־לי  חסידי 
כרתי  בריתי
עלי־זבח׃
    Gather my saints together unto me; those that have made a covenant with me by sacrifice.     "Gather my saints together to me, those who have made a covenant with me by sacrifice."     Let my saints come together to me; those who have made an agreement with me by offerings.
 
6.    ויגידו  שמים  צדקו 
כי־אלהים  שפט  הוא
סלה׃
    And the heavens shall declare his righteousness: for God is judge himself. Selah.     The heavens shall declare his righteousness, for God himself is judge. Selah.     And let the heavens make clear his righteousness; for God himself is the judge. (Selah.)
 
7.    שמעה  עמי  ואדברה 
ישראל  ואעידה  בך
אלהים  אלהיך  אנכי׃
    Hear, O my people, and I will speak; O Israel, and I will testify against thee: I am God, even thy God.     "Hear, my people, and I will speak; Israel, and I will testify against you. I am God, your God.     Give ear, O my people, to my words; O Israel, I will be a witness against you; I am God, even your God.
 
8.    לא  על־זבחיך 
אוכיחך  ועולתיך
לנגדי  תמיד׃
    I will not reprove thee for thy sacrifices or thy burnt offerings, to have been continually before me.     I don't rebuke you for your sacrifices. Your burnt offerings are continually before me.     I will not take up a cause against you because of your offerings, or because of your burned offerings, which are ever before me.
 
9.    לא־אקח  מביתך  פר 
ממכלאתיך  עתודים׃
    I will take no bullock out of thy house, nor he goats out of thy folds.     I have no need for a bull from your stall, nor male goats from your pens.     I will take no ox out of your house, or he-goats from your flocks;
 
10.    כי־לי  כל־חיתו־יער 
בהמות  בהררי־אלף׃
    For every beast of the forest is mine, and the cattle upon a thousand hills.     For every animal of the forest is mine, and the livestock on a thousand hills.     For every beast of the woodland is mine, and the cattle on a thousand hills.
 
11.    ידעתי  כל־עוף  הרים 
וזיז  שדי  עמדי׃
    I know all the fowls of the mountains: and the wild beasts of the field are mine.     I know all the birds of the mountains. The wild animals of the field are mine.     I see all the birds of the mountains, and the beasts of the field are mine.
 
12.    אם־ארעב  לא־אמר  לך 
כי־לי  תבל  ומלאה׃
    If I were hungry, I would not tell thee: for the world is mine, and the fulness thereof.     If I were hungry, I would not tell you, for the world is mine, and all that is in it.     If I had need of food, I would not give you word of it; for the earth is mine and all its wealth.
 
13.    האוכל  בשר  אבירים 
ודם  עתודים  אשתה׃
    Will I eat the flesh of bulls, or drink the blood of goats?     Will I eat the flesh of bulls, or drink the blood of goats?     Am I to take the flesh of the ox for my food, or the blood of goats for my drink?
 
14.    זבח  לאלהים  תודה 
ושלם  לעליון
נדריך׃
    Offer unto God thanksgiving; and pay thy vows unto the most High:     Offer to God the sacrifice of thanksgiving. Pay your vows to the Most High.     Make an offering of praise to God; keep the agreements which you have made with the Most High;
 
15.    וקראני  ביום  צרה 
אחלצך  ותכבדני׃
    And call upon me in the day of trouble: I will deliver thee, and thou shalt glorify me.     Call on me in the day of trouble. I will deliver you, and you will honor me."     Let your voice come up to me in the day of trouble; I will be your saviour, so that you may give glory to me.
 
16.    ולרשע  אמר  אלהים 
מה־לך  לספר  חקי
ותשא  בריתי
עלי־פיך׃
    But unto the wicked God saith, What hast thou to do to declare my statutes, or that thou shouldest take my covenant in thy mouth?     But to the wicked God says, "What right do you have to declare my statutes, that you have taken my covenant on your lips,     But to the sinner, God says, What are you doing, talking of my laws, or taking the words of my agreement in your mouth?
 
17.    ואתה  שנאת  מוסר 
ותשלך  דברי  אחריך׃
    Seeing thou hatest instruction, and casteth my words behind thee.     seeing you hate instruction, and throw my words behind you?     Seeing that you have no desire for my teaching, turning your back on my words.
 
18.    אם־ראית  גנב  ותרץ 
עמו  ועם  מנאפים
חלקך׃
    When thou sawest a thief, then thou consentedst with him, and hast been partaker with adulterers.     When you saw a thief, you consented with him, and have participated with adulterers.     When you saw a thief, you were in agreement with him, and you were joined with those who took other men's wives.
 
19.    פיך  שלחת  ברעה 
ולשונך  תצמיד
מרמה׃
    Thou givest thy mouth to evil, and thy tongue frameth deceit.     "You give your mouth to evil. Your tongue frames deceit.     You have given your mouth to evil, your tongue to words of deceit.
 
20.    תשב  באחיך  תדבר 
בבן־אמך  תתן־דפי׃
    Thou sittest and speakest against thy brother; thou slanderest thine own mother's son.     You sit and speak against your brother. You slander your own mother's son.     You say evil of your brother; you make false statements against your mother's son.
 
21.    אלה  עשית  והחרשתי 
דמית  היות־אהיה
כמוך  אוכיחך
ואערכה  לעיניך׃
    These things hast thou done, and I kept silence; thou thoughtest that I was altogether such an one as thyself: but I will reprove thee, and set them in order before thine eyes.     You have done these things, and I kept silent. You thought that the I was just like you. I will rebuke you, and accuse you in front of your eyes.     These things have you done, and I said nothing; it seemed to you that I was such a one as yourself; but I will make a protest against you, and put them in order before your eyes.
 
22.    בינו־נא  זאת  שכחי 
אלוה  פן־אטרף  ואין
מציל׃
    Now consider this, ye that forget God, lest I tear you in pieces, and there be none to deliver.     "Now consider this, you who forget God, lest I tear you into pieces, and there be none to deliver.     Now keep this in mind, you who have no memory of God, for fear that you may be crushed under my hand, with no one to give you help:
 
23.    זבח  תודה  יכבדנני 
ושם  דרך  אראנו
בישע  אלהים׃
    Whoso offereth praise glorifieth me: and to him that ordereth his conversation aright will I shew the salvation of God.     Whoever offers the sacrifice of thanksgiving glorifies me, and prepares his way so that I will show God's salvation to him."     Whoever makes an offering of praise gives glory to me; and to him who is upright in his ways I will make clear the salvation of God.
