1.    למנצח  על־יונת  אלם 
רחקים  לדוד  מכתם
באחז  אתו  פלשתים
בגת׃
    Be merciful unto me, O God: for man would swallow me up; he fighting daily oppresseth me.     {For the Chief Musician. To the tune of "Silent Dove in Distant Lands." A poem by David, when the Philistines seized him in Gath.} Be merciful to me, God, for man wants to swallow me up. All day long, he attacks and oppresses me.     To the chief music-maker; put to Jonath elem rehokim. Of David. Michtam. When the Philistines took him in Gath.
 
2.    חנני  אלהים 
כי־שאפני  אנוש
כל־היום  לחם
ילחצני׃
    Mine enemies would daily swallow me up: for they be many that fight against me, O thou most High.     My enemies want to swallow me up all day long, for they are many who fight proudly against me.     Have mercy on me, O God, for man is attempting my destruction; every day he makes cruel attacks against me.
 
3.    שאפו  שוררי 
כל־היום  כי־רבים
לחמים  לי  מרום׃
    What time I am afraid, I will trust in thee.     When I am afraid, I will put my trust in you.     My haters are ever ready to put an end to me; great numbers are lifting themselves up against me.
 
4.    יום  אירא  אני  אליך 
אבטח׃
    In God I will praise his word, in God I have put my trust; I will not fear what flesh can do unto me.     In God, I praise his word. In God, I put my trust. I will not be afraid. What can flesh do to me?     In the time of my fear, I will have faith in you.
 
5.    באלהים  אהלל  דברו 
באלהים  בטחתי  לא
אירא  מה־יעשה  בשר
לי׃
    Every day they wrest my words: all their thoughts are against me for evil.     All day long they twist my words. All their thoughts are against me for evil.     In God will I give praise to his word; in God have I put my hope; I will have no fear of what flesh may do to me.
 
6.    כל־היום  דברי 
יעצבו  עלי
כל־מחשבתם  לרע׃
    They gather themselves together, they hide themselves, they mark my steps, when they wait for my soul.     They conspire and lurk, watching my steps, they are eager to take my life.     Every day they make wrong use of my words; all their thoughts are against me for evil.
 
7.    יגורו  יצפינו  המה 
עקבי  ישמרו  כאשר
קוו  נפשי׃
    Shall they escape by iniquity? in thine anger cast down the people, O God.     Shall they escape by iniquity? In anger cast down the peoples, God.     They come together, they are waiting in secret places, they take note of my steps, they are waiting for my soul.
 
8.    על־און  פלט־למו 
באף  עמים  הורד
אלהים׃
    Thou tellest my wanderings: put thou my tears into thy bottle: are they not in thy book?     You number my wanderings. You put my tears into your bottle. Aren't they in your book?     By evil-doing they will not get free from punishment. In wrath, O God, let the peoples be made low.
 
9.    נדי  ספרתה  אתה 
שימה  דמעתי  בנאדך
הלא  בספרתך׃
    When I cry unto thee, then shall mine enemies turn back: this I know; for God is for me.     Then my enemies shall turn back in the day that I call. I know this, that God is for me.     You have seen my wanderings; put the drops from my eyes into your bottle; are they not in your record?
 
10.    אז  ישובו  אויבי 
אחור  ביום  אקרא
זה־ידעתי  כי־אלהים
לי׃
    In God will I praise his word: in the LORD will I praise his word.     In God, I will praise his word. In Yahweh, I will praise his word.     When I send up my cry to you, my haters will be turned back; I am certain of this, for God is with me.
 
11.    באלהים  אהלל  דבר 
ביהוה  אהלל  דבר׃
    In God have I put my trust: I will not be afraid what man can do unto me.     I have put my trust in God. I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?     In God will I give praise to his word; in the Lord will I give praise to his word.
 
12.    באלהים  בטחתי  לא 
אירא  מה־יעשה  אדם
לי׃
    Thy vows are upon me, O God: I will render praises unto thee.     Your vows are on me, God. I will give thank offerings to you.     In God have I put my hope, I will have no fear of what man may do to me.
 
13.    עלי  אלהים  נדריך 
אשלם  תודת  לך׃
    For thou hast delivered my soul from death: wilt not thou deliver my feet from falling, that I may walk before God in the light of the living?     For you have delivered my soul from death, and prevented my feet from falling, that I may walk before God in the light of the living.     I keep the memory of my debt to you, O God; I will give you the offerings of praise.
 
14.    כי  הצלת  נפשי  ממות 
הלא  רגלי  מדחי
להתהלך  לפני  אלהים
באור  החיים׃
