For, lo, they lie in wait for my soul: the mighty are gathered against me; not for my transgression, nor for my sin, O LORD.     For, behold, they lie in wait for my soul. The mighty gather themselves together against me, not for my disobedience, nor for my sin, Yahweh.     Take me out of the power of the workers of evil, and keep me safe from the men of blood.

They run and prepare themselves without my fault: awake to help me, and behold.     I have done no wrong, yet they are ready to attack me. Rise up, behold, and help me!     For see, they are watching in secret for my soul; the strong have come together against me? but not because of my sin, or my evil-doing, O Lord.

Thou therefore, O LORD God of hosts, the God of Israel, awake to visit all the heathen: be not merciful to any wicked transgressors. Selah.     You, Yahweh God of Armies, the God of Israel, rouse yourself to punish the nations. Show no mercy to the wicked traitors. Selah.     For no sin of mine they go quickly and get themselves ready; be awake and come to my help, and see.

(Selah.)

Behold, they belch out with their mouth: swords are in their lips: for who, say they, doth hear?     Behold, they spew with their mouth. Swords are in their lips, "For," they say, "who hears us?"     They come back in the evening; they make a noise like a dog, and go round the town.

But thou, O LORD, shalt laugh at them; thou shalt have all the heathen in derision.     But you, Yahweh, laugh at them. You scoff at all the nations.     See, hate is dropping from their lips; curses are on their tongues: they say, Who gives attention to it?

The God of my mercy shall prevent me: God shall let me see my desire upon mine enemies.     My God will go before me with his loving kindness. God will let me look at my enemies in triumph.     O my strength, I will put my hope in you; because God is my strong tower.

Slay them not, lest my people forget: scatter them by thy power; and bring them down, O Lord our shield.     Don't kill them, or my people may forget. Scatter them by your power, and bring them down, Lord our shield.     The God of my mercy will go before me: God will let me see my desire effected on my haters.

For the sin of their mouth and the words of their lips let them even be taken in their pride: and for cursing and lying which they speak.     For the sin of their mouth, and the words of their lips, let them be caught in their pride, for the curses and lies which they utter.     Put them not to death, for so my people will keep the memory of them: let them be sent in all directions by your power; make them low, O Lord our saviour.

Consume them in wrath, consume them, that they may not be: and let them know that God ruleth in Jacob unto the ends of the earth. Selah.     Consume them in wrath. Consume them, and they will be no more. Let them know that God rules in Jacob, to the ends of the earth.     And at evening let them return; and let them make a noise like a dog, and go round about the city.     At evening let them return. Let them howl like a dog, and go around the city.     Put an end to them in your wrath, put an end to them, so that they may not be seen again; let them see that God is ruling in Jacob and to the ends of the earth. (Selah.)

Let them wander up and down for meat, and grudge if they be not satisfied.     They shall wander up and down for food, and wait all night if they aren't satisfied.     And in the evening let them come back, and make a noise like a dog, and go round the town.
