הצילני מאיבי אלהי ממתקוממי תשגבני׃ |

הצילני מפעלי און ומאנשי דמים הושיעני׃ |

כי הנה ארבו לנפשי יגורו עלי עזים לא־פשעי ולא־חטאתי יהוה׃ |
They run and prepare themselves without my fault: awake to help me, and behold. | I have done no wrong, yet they are ready to attack me. Rise up, behold, and help me! | For see, they are watching in secret for my soul; the strong have come together against me? but not because of my sin, or my evil-doing, O Lord. | |||

בלי־עון ירוצון ויכוננו עורה לקראתי וראה׃ |
Thou therefore, O LORD God of hosts, the God of Israel, awake to visit all the heathen: be not merciful to any wicked transgressors. Selah. | You, Yahweh God of Armies, the God of Israel, rouse yourself to punish the nations. Show no mercy to the wicked traitors. Selah. | For no sin of mine they go quickly and get themselves ready; be awake and come to my help, and see. | |||

ואתה יהוה־אלהים צבאות אלהי ישראל הקיצה לפקד כל־הגוים אל־תחן כל־בגדי און סלה׃ |
They return at evening: they make a noise like a dog, and go round about the city. | They return at evening, howling like dogs, and prowl around the city. | You, O Lord God of armies, are the God of Israel; come now and give punishment to the nations; have no mercy on any workers of deceit. ישובו לערב יהמו ככלב ויסובבו עיר׃ |
Behold, they belch out with their mouth: swords are in their lips: for who, say they, doth hear? | Behold, they spew with their mouth. Swords are in their lips, "For," they say, "who hears us?" | They come back in the evening; they make a noise like a dog, and go round the town. | |||

הנה יביעון בפיהם חרבות בשפתותיהם כי־מי שמע׃ |
But thou, O LORD, shalt laugh at them; thou shalt have all the heathen in derision. | But you, Yahweh, laugh at them. You scoff at all the nations. | See, hate is dropping from their lips; curses are on their tongues: they say, Who gives attention to it? | |||

ואתה יהוה תשחק־למו תלעג לכל־גוים׃ |
Because of his strength will I wait upon thee: for God is my defence. | Oh, my Strength, I watch for you, for God is my high tower. | But you are laughing at them, O Lord; you will make sport of all the nations. | |||

עזו אליך אשמרה כי־אלהים משגבי׃ |
The God of my mercy shall prevent me: God shall let me see my desire upon mine enemies. | My God will go before me with his loving kindness. God will let me look at my enemies in triumph. | O my strength, I will put my hope in you; because God is my strong tower. | |||

אלהי חסדו יקדמני אלהים יראני בשררי׃ |
Slay them not, lest my people forget: scatter them by thy power; and bring them down, O Lord our shield. | Don't kill them, or my people may forget. Scatter them by your power, and bring them down, Lord our shield. | The God of my mercy will go before me: God will let me see my desire effected on my haters. | |||

אל־תהרגם פן־ישכחו עמי הניעמו בחילך והורידמו מגננו אדני׃ |
For the sin of their mouth and the words of their lips let them even be taken in their pride: and for cursing and lying which they speak. | For the sin of their mouth, and the words of their lips, let them be caught in their pride, for the curses and lies which they utter. | Put them not to death, for so my people will keep the memory of them: let them be sent in all directions by your power; make them low, O Lord our saviour. | |||

חטאת־פימו דבר־שפתימו וילכדו בגאונם ומאלה ומכחש יספרו׃ |
Consume them in wrath, consume them, that they may not be: and let them know that God ruleth in Jacob unto the ends of the earth. Selah. | Consume them in wrath. And at evening let them return; and let them make a noise like a dog, and go round about the city. | At evening let them return. Let them howl like a dog, and go around the city. | Put an end to them in your wrath, put an end to them, so that they may not be seen again; let them see that God is ruling in Jacob and to the ends of the earth. וישובו לערב יהמו ככלב ויסובבו עיר׃ |
Let them wander up and down for meat, and grudge if they be not satisfied. | They shall wander up and down for food, and wait all night if they aren't satisfied. | And in the evening let them come back, and make a noise like a dog, and go round the town. | |||

המה ינועון לאכל אם־לא ישבעו וילינו׃ |
But I will sing of thy power; yea, I will sing aloud of thy mercy in the morning: for thou hast been my defence and refuge in the day of my trouble. | But I will sing of your strength. Yes, I will sing aloud of your loving kindness in the morning. For you have been my high tower, a refuge in the day of my distress. | Let them go wandering up and down in search of food, and be there all night if they have not enough. | |||

ואני אשיר עזך וארנן לבקר חסדך כי־היית משגב לי ומנוס ביום צר־ לי׃ |
Unto thee, O my strength, will I sing: for God is my defence, and the God of my mercy. | To you, my strength, I will sing praises. For God is my high tower, the God of my mercy. | But I will make songs of your power; yes, I will give cries of joy for your mercy in the morning; because you have been my strength and my high tower in the day of my trouble. | |||
