אלהים אל־דמי־לך אל־תחרש ואל־תשקט אל׃ |
For, lo, thine enemies make a tumult: and they that hate thee have lifted up the head. | For, behold, your enemies are stirred up. Those who hate you have lifted up their heads. | O God, do not keep quiet: let your lips be open and take no rest, O God. | |||

כי־הנה אויביך יהמיון ומשנאיך נשאו ראש׃ |
They have taken crafty counsel against thy people, and consulted against thy hidden ones. | They conspire with cunning against your people. They plot against your cherished ones. | For see! those who make war on you are out of control; your haters are lifting up their heads. | |||

על־עמך יערימו סוד ויתיעצו על־צפוניך׃ |
They have said, Come, and let us cut them off from being a nation; that the name of Israel may be no more in remembrance. | "Come," they say, "and let's destroy them as a nation, that the name of Israel may be remembered no more." | They have made wise designs against your people, talking together against those whom you keep in a secret place. | |||

אמרו לכו ונכחידם מגוי ולא־יזכר שם־ישראל עוד׃ |
For they have consulted together with one consent: they are confederate against thee: | For they have conspired together with one mind. They form an alliance against you. | They have said, Come, let us put an end to them as a nation; so that the name of Israel may go out of man's memory. | |||

כי נועצו לב יחדו עליך ברית יכרתו׃ |
The tabernacles of Edom, and the Ishmaelites; of Moab, and the Hagarenes; | The tents of Edom and the Ishmaelites; Moab, and the Hagrites; | For they have all come to an agreement; they are all joined together against you: | |||

אהלי אדום וישמעאלים מואב והגרים׃ |
Gebal, and Ammon, and Amalek; the Philistines with the inhabitants of Tyre; | Gebal, Ammon, and Amalek; Philistia with the inhabitants of Tyre; | The tents of Edom and the Ishmaelites; Moab and the Hagarites; | |||

גבל ועמון ועמלק פלשת עם־ישבי צור׃ |
Assur also is joined with them: they have holpen the children of Lot. Selah. | Assyria also is joined with them. They have helped the children of Lot. Selah. | Gebal and Ammon and Amalek; the Philistines and the people of Tyre; | |||

גם־אשור נלוה עמם היו זרוע לבני־לוט סלה׃ |

Make their nobles like Oreb, and like Zeeb: yea, all their princes as Zebah, and as Zalmunna: | Make their nobles like Oreb and Zeeb; yes, all their princes like Zebah and Zalmunna; | Who came to destruction at En-dor; their bodies became dust and waste. | |||

שיתמו נדיבמו כערב וכזאב וכזבח וכצלמנע כל־נסיכמו׃ |
Who said, Let us take to ourselves the houses of God in possession. | who said, "Let us take possession of God's pasturelands." | Make their chiefs like Oreb and Zeeb; and all their rulers like Zebah and Zalmunna: | |||

אשר אמרו נירשה לנו את נאות אלהים׃ |
O my God, make them like a wheel; as the stubble before the wind. | My God, make them like tumbleweed; like chaff before the wind. | Who have said, Let us take for our heritage the resting-place of God. | |||

אלהי שיתמו כגלגל כקש לפני־רוח׃ |
As the fire burneth a wood, and as the flame setteth the mountains on fire; | As the fire that burns the forest, as the flame that sets the mountains on fire, | O my God, make them like the rolling dust; like dry stems before the wind. | |||

כאש תבער־יער וכלהבה תלהט הרים׃ |
So persecute them with thy tempest, and make them afraid with thy storm. | so pursue them with your tempest, and terrify them with your storm. | As fire burning a wood, and as a flame causing fire on the mountains, | |||

כן תרדפם בסערך ובסופתך תבהלם׃ |
Fill their faces with shame; that they may seek thy name, O LORD. | Fill their faces with confusion, that they may seek your name, Yahweh. | So go after them with your strong wind, and let them be full of fear because of your storm. | |||

מלא פניהם קלון ויבקשו שמך יהוה׃ |
Let them be confounded and troubled for ever; yea, let them be put to shame, and perish: | Let them be disappointed and dismayed forever. Yes, let them be confounded and perish; | Let their faces be full of shame; so that they may give honour to your name, O Lord. | |||

יבשו ויבהלו עדי־עד ויחפרו ויאבדו׃ |
That men may know that thou, whose name alone is JEHOVAH, art the most high over all the earth. | that they may know that you alone, whose name is Yahweh, are the Most High over all the earth. | Let them be overcome and troubled for ever; let them be put to shame and come to destruction; | |||
