יששום מדבר וציה ותגל ערבה ותפרח כחבצלת׃ |
The wilderness and the solitary place shall be glad for them; and the desert shall rejoice, and blossom as the rose. | The wilderness and the dry land will be glad. The desert will rejoice and blossom like a rose. | The waste land and the dry places will be glad; the lowland will have joy and be full of flowers. | |||

פרח תפרח ותגל אף גילת ורנן כבוד הלבנון נתן־לה הדר הכרמל והשרון המה יראו כבוד־יהוה הדר אלהינו׃ |
It shall blossom abundantly, and rejoice even with joy and singing: the glory of Lebanon shall be given unto it, the excellency of Carmel and Sharon, they shall see the glory of the LORD, and the excellency of our God. | It will blossom abundantly, and rejoice even with joy and singing. Lebanon's glory Lebanon will be given to it, the excellence of Carmel and Sharon. חזקו ידים רפות וברכים כשלות אמצו׃ |

אמרו לנמהרי־לב חזקו אל־תיראו הנה אלהיכם נקם יבוא גמול אלהים הוא יבוא וישעכם׃ |
Say to them that are of a fearful heart, Be strong, fear not: behold, your God will come with vengeance, even God with a recompence; he will come and save you. | Tell those who have a fearful heart, "Be strong. Don't be afraid. Behold, your God will come with vengeance, God's retribution. אז תפקחנה עיני עורים ואזני חרשים תפתחנה׃ |

אז ידלג כאיל פסח ותרן לשון אלם כי־נבקעו במדבר מים ונחלים בערבה׃ |
Then shall the lame man leap as an hart, and the tongue of the dumb sing: for in the wilderness shall waters break out, and streams in the desert. | Then the lame man will leap like a deer, and the tongue of the mute will sing; for waters will break out in the wilderness, and streams in the desert. | Then will the feeble-footed be jumping like a roe, and the voice which was stopped will be loud in song: for in the waste land streams will be bursting out, and waters in the dry places. | |||

והיה השרב לאגם וצמאון למבועי מים בנוה תנים רבצה חציר לקנה וגמא׃ |
And the parched ground shall become a pool, and the thirsty land springs of water: in the habitation of dragons, where each lay, shall be grass with reeds and rushes. | The burning sand will become a pool, and the thirsty ground springs of water. Grass with reeds and rushes will be in the habitation of jackals, where they lay. | And the burning sand will become a pool, and the dry earth springs of waters: the fields where the sheep take their food will become wet land, and water-plants will take the place of grass. | |||

והיה־שם מסלול ודרך ודרך הקדש יקרא לה לא־יעברנו טמא והוא־למו הלך דרך ואוילים לא יתעו׃ |
And an highway shall be there, and a way, and it shall be called The way of holiness; the unclean shall not pass over it; but it shall be for those: the wayfaring men, though fools, shall not err therein. | A highway will be there, a road, and it will be called The Holy Way. The unclean shall not pass over it, but it will be for those who walk in the Way. Wicked fools will not go there. | And a highway will be there; its name will be, The Holy Way; the unclean and the sinner may not go over it, and those who go on it will not be turned out of the way by the foolish. | |||

לא־יהיה שם אריה ופריץ חיות בל־יעלנה לא תמצא שם והלכו גאולים׃ |
No lion shall be there, nor any ravenous beast shall go up thereon, it shall not be found there; but the redeemed shall walk there: | No lion will be there, nor will any ravenous animal go up on it. They will not be found there; but the redeemed will walk there. | No lion will be there, or any cruel beast; they will not be seen there; but those for whom the Lord has given a price, | |||

ופדויי יהוה ישבון ובאו ציון ברנה ושמחת עולם על־ראשם ששון ושמחה ישיגו ונסו יגון ואנחה׃ |
And the ransomed of the LORD shall return, and come to Zion with songs and everlasting joy upon their heads: they shall obtain joy and gladness, and sorrow and sighing shall flee away. | The Yahweh's ransomed ones will return, and come with singing to Zion; and everlasting joy will be on their heads. They will obtain gladness and joy, and sorrow and sighing will flee away." | Even those whom he has made free, will come back again; they will come with songs to Zion; on their heads will be eternal joy; delight and joy will be theirs, and sorrow and sounds of grief will be gone for ever. | |||
