One of the king of Israel's servants answered, "Elisha the son of Shaphat is here, who poured water on the hands of Elijah." | But Jehoshaphat said, Is there not here a prophet of the LORD, that we may enquire of the LORD by him? And one of the king of Israel's servants answered and said, Here is Elisha the son of Shaphat, which poured water on the hands of Elijah. |

| 13. | Elisha said to the king of Israel, "What have I to do with you? Go to the prophets of your father, and to the prophets of your mother." | 14. | Elisha said, "As Yahweh of Armies lives, before whom I stand, surely, were it not that I respect the presence of Jehoshaphat the king of Judah, I would not look toward you, nor see you. | And Elisha said, As the LORD of hosts liveth, before whom I stand, surely, were it not that I regard the presence of Jehoshaphat the king of Judah, I would not look toward thee, nor see thee. |
ויאמר אלישע חי־יהוה צבאות אשר עמדתי לפניו כי לולי פני יהושפט מלך־יהודה אני נשא אם־אביט אליך ואם־אראך׃ |
VY'aMUr 'aLYSh'y ChY-YHVH TShB'aVTh 'aShUr 'yMDThY LPhNYV KY LVLY PhNY YHVShPhT MLK-YHVDH 'aNY NSh'a 'aM-'aBYT 'aLYK V'aM-'aUr'aK. | Nebuchadnezzar made answer and said to them, Is it true, O Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego, that you will not be servants of my god or give worship to the image of gold which I have put up? | dixit autem Heliseus vivit Dominus exercituum in cuius conspectu sto quod si non vultum Iosaphat regis Iudae erubescerem ne adtendissem quidem te nec respexissem | |||||
| 15. | But now bring me a minstrel." It happened, when the minstrel played, that the hand of Yahweh came on him. | But now bring me a minstrel. And it came to pass, when the minstrel played, that the hand of the LORD came upon him. |

V'yThH QChV-LY MNGN VHYH KNGN HMNGN VThHY 'yLYV YD-YHVH. | Now if you are ready, on hearing the sound of the horn, pipe, harp, trigon, psaltery, bagpipe, and all sorts of instruments, to go down on your faces in worship before the image which I have made, it is well: but if you will not give worship, that same hour you will be put into a burning and flaming fire; and what god is there who will be able to take you out of my hands? | nunc autem adducite mihi psalten cumque caneret psaltes facta est super eum manus Domini et ait | |||||
| 16. | He said, "Thus says Yahweh, 'Make this valley full of trenches.' | And he said, Thus saith the LORD, Make this valley full of ditches. |

| 17. | For thus says Yahweh, 'You will not see wind, neither will you see rain; yet that valley shall be filled with water, and you will drink, both you and your livestock and your animals. | For thus saith the LORD, Ye shall not see wind, neither shall ye see rain; yet that valley shall be filled with water, that ye may drink, both ye, and your cattle, and your beasts. |

KY-KH 'aMUr YHVH L'a-ThUr'aV UrVCh VL'a-ThUr'aV GShM VHNChL HHV'a YML'a MYM VShThYThM 'aThM VMQNYKM VBHMThKM. | If our God, whose servants we are, is able to keep us safe from the burning and flaming fire, and from your hands, O King, he will keep us safe. | haec enim dicit Dominus non videbitis ventum neque pluviam et alveus iste replebitur aquis et bibetis vos et familiae vestrae et iumenta vestra | |||||
