1.    {For the Chief Musician. A Psalm by David.} Yahweh, you have searched me, and you know me.     O LORD, thou hast searched me, and known me.     למנצח  לדוד  מזמור 
יהוה  חקרתני  ותדע׃
    LMNTShCh LDVD MZMVUr YHVH ChQUrThNY VThD'y.     To the Overseer. -- A Psalm by David.
Jehovah, Thou hast searched me, and knowest.
    pro victoria David canticum Domine investigasti me et cognovisti
 
2.    You know my sitting down and my rising up. You perceive my thoughts from afar.     Thou knowest my downsitting and mine uprising, thou understandest my thought afar off.     אתה  ידעת  שבתי 
וקומי  בנתה  לרעי
מרחוק׃
    'aThH YD'yTh ShBThY VQVMY BNThH LUr'yY MUrChVQ.     Thou -- Thou hast known my sitting down, And my rising up, Thou hast attended to my thoughts from afar.     tu cognovisti sessionem meam et surrectionem meam
 
3.    You search out my path and my lying down, and are acquainted with all my ways.     Thou compassest my path and my lying down, and art acquainted with all my ways.     ארחי  ורבעי  זרית 
וכל־דרכי  הסכנתה׃
    'aUrChY VUrB'yY ZUrYTh VKL-DUrKY HSKNThH.     My path and my couch Thou hast fanned, And with all my ways hast been acquainted.     intellexisti malum meum de longe semitam meam et accubitionem meam eventilasti
 
4.    For there is not a word on my tongue, but, behold, Yahweh, you know it altogether.     For there is not a word in my tongue, but, lo, O LORD, thou knowest it altogether.     כי  אין  מלה  בלשוני 
הן  יהוה  ידעת  כלה׃
    KY 'aYN MLH BLShVNY HN YHVH YD'yTh KLH.     For there is not a word in my tongue, Lo, O Jehovah, Thou hast known it all!     et omnes vias meas intellexisti quia non est eloquium in lingua mea
 
5.    You hem me in behind and before. You laid your hand on me.     Thou hast beset me behind and before, and laid thine hand upon me.     אחור  וקדם  צרתני 
ותשת  עלי  כפכה׃
    'aChVUr VQDM TShUrThNY VThShTh 'yLY KPhKH.     Behind and before Thou hast besieged me, And Thou dost place on me Thy hand.     ecce Domine nosti omnia retrorsum et ante formasti me et posuisti super me manum tuam
 
6.    This knowledge is beyond me. It's lofty. I can't attain it.     Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; it is high, I cannot attain unto it.     פלאיה  דעת  ממני 
נשגבה  לא־אוכל  לה׃
    PhL'aYH D'yTh MMNY NShGBH L'a-'aVKL LH.     Knowledge too wonderful for me, It hath been set on high, I am not able for it.     super me est scientia et excelsior est non potero ad eam
 
7.    Where could I go from your Spirit? Or where could I flee from your presence?     Whither shall I go from thy spirit? or whither shall I flee from thy presence?     אנה  אלך  מרוחך 
ואנה  מפניך  אברח׃
    'aNH 'aLK MUrVChK V'aNH MPhNYK 'aBUrCh.     Whither do I go from Thy Spirit? And whither from Thy face do I flee?     quo ibo ab spiritu tuo et quo a facie tua fugiam
 
8.    If I ascend up into heaven, you are there. If I make my bed in Sheol{Sheol is the place of the dead.}, behold, you are there!     If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there: if I make my bed in hell, behold, thou art there.     אם־אסק  שמים  שם 
אתה  ואציעה  שאול
הנך׃
    'aM-'aSQ ShMYM ShM 'aThH V'aTShY'yH Sh'aVL HNK.     If I ascend the heavens -- there Thou art, And spread out a couch in Sheol, lo, Thee!     si ascendero in caelum ibi es tu si iacuero in inferno ades
 
9.    If I take the wings of the dawn, and settle in the uttermost parts of the sea;     If I take the wings of the morning, and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea;     אשא  כנפי־שחר 
אשכנה  באחרית  ים׃
    'aSh'a KNPhY-ShChUr 'aShKNH B'aChUrYTh YM.     I take the wings of morning, I dwell in the uttermost part of the sea,     si sumpsero pinnas diluculo habitavero in novissimo maris
 
10.    Even there your hand will lead me, and your right hand will hold me.     Even there shall thy hand lead me, and thy right hand shall hold me.     גם־שם  ידך  תנחני 
ותאחזני  ימינך׃
    GM-ShM YDK ThNChNY VTh'aChZNY YMYNK.     Also there Thy hand doth lead me, And Thy right hand doth hold me.     etiam ibi manus tua deducet me et tenebit me dextera tua
 
11.    If I say, "Surely the darkness will overwhelm me; the light around me will be night;"     If I say, Surely the darkness shall cover me; even the night shall be light about me.     ואמר  אך־חשך 
ישופני  ולילה  אור
בעדני׃
    V'aMUr 'aK-ChShK YShVPhNY VLYLH 'aVUr B'yDNY.     And I say, `Surely darkness bruiseth me, Then night is light to me.     si dixero forte tenebrae operient me nox quoque lux erit circa me
 
12.    even the darkness doesn't hide from you, but the night shines as the day. The darkness is like light to you.     Yea, the darkness hideth not from thee; but the night shineth as the day: the darkness and the light are both alike to thee.     גם־חשך  לא־יחשיך 
ממך  ולילה  כיום
יאיר  כחשיכה
כאורה׃
    GM-ChShK L'a-YChShYK MMK VLYLH KYVM Y'aYUr KChShYKH K'aVUrH.     Also darkness hideth not from Thee, And night as day shineth, as is darkness so is light.     nec tenebrae habent tenebras apud te et nox quasi dies lucet similes sunt tenebrae et lux
 
13.    For you formed my inmost being. You knit me together in my mother's womb.     For thou hast possessed my reins: thou hast covered me in my mother's womb.     כי־אתה  קנית  כליתי 
תסכני  בבטן  אמי׃
    KY-'aThH QNYTh KLYThY ThSKNY BBTN 'aMY.     For Thou -- Thou hast possessed my reins, Thou dost cover me in my mother`s belly.     quoniam tu possedisti renes meos orsusque es me in utero matris meae
 
14.    I will give thanks to you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Your works are wonderful. My soul knows that very well.     I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.     אודך  על  כי  נוראות 
נפליתי  נפלאים
מעשיך  ונפשי  ידעת
מאד׃
    'aVDK 'yL KY NVUr'aVTh NPhLYThY NPhL'aYM M'yShYK VNPhShY YD'yTh M'aD.     I confess Thee, because that with wonders I have been distinguished. Wonderful are Thy works, And my soul is knowing it well.     confitebor tibi quoniam terribiliter magnificasti me mirabilia opera tua et anima mea novit nimis
 
15.    My frame wasn't hidden from you, when I was made in secret, woven together in the depths of the earth.     My substance was not hid from thee, when I was made in secret, and curiously wrought in the lowest parts of the earth.     לא־נכחד  עצמי  ממך 
אשר־עשיתי  בסתר
רקמתי  בתחתיות
ארץ׃
    L'a-NKChD 'yTShMY MMK 'aShUr-'yShYThY BSThUr UrQMThY BThChThYVTh 'aUrTSh.     My substance was not hid from Thee, When I was made in secret, Curiously wrought in the lower part of earth.     non sunt operta ossa mea a te quibus factus sum in abscondito imaginatus sum in novissimis terrae
 
16.    Your eyes saw my body. In your book they were all written, the days that were ordained for me, when as yet there were none of them.     Thine eyes did see my substance, yet being unperfect; and in thy book all my members were written, which in continuance were fashioned, when as yet there was none of them.     גלמי  ראו  עיניך 
ועל־ספרך  כלם
יכתבו  ימים  יצרו
ולא  אחד  בהם׃
    GLMY Ur'aV 'yYNYK V'yL-SPhUrK KLM YKThBV YMYM YTShUrV VL'a 'aChD BHM.     Mine unformed substance Thine eyes saw, And on Thy book all of them are written, The days they were formed -- And not one among them.     informem adhuc me viderunt oculi tui et in libro tuo omnes scribentur dies formatae sunt et non est una in eis
 
17.    How precious to me are your thoughts, God! How vast is the sum of them!     How precious also are thy thoughts unto me, O God! how great is the sum of them!     ולי  מה־יקרו  רעיך 
אל  מה  עצמו
ראשיהם׃
    VLY MH-YQUrV Ur'yYK 'aL MH 'yTShMV Ur'aShYHM.     And to me how precious have been Thy thoughts, O God, how great hath been their sum!     mihi autem quam honorabiles facti sunt amici tui Deus quam fortes pauperes eorum
 
18.    If I would count them, they are more in number than the sand. When I wake up, I am still with you.     If I should count them, they are more in number than the sand: when I awake, I am still with thee.     אספרם  מחול  ירבון 
הקיצתי  ועודי  עמך׃
    'aSPhUrM MChVL YUrBVN HQYTShThY V'yVDY 'yMK.     I recount them! than the sand they are more, I have waked, and I am still with Thee.     dinumerabo eos et harena plures erunt evigilavi et adhuc sum tecum
 
19.    If only you, God, would kill the wicked. Get away from me, you bloodthirsty men!     Surely thou wilt slay the wicked, O God: depart from me therefore, ye bloody men.     אם־תקטל  אלוה  רשע 
ואנשי  דמים  סורו
מני׃
    'aM-ThQTL 'aLVH UrSh'y V'aNShY DMYM SVUrV MNY.     Dost Thou slay, O God, the wicked? Then, men of blood, turn aside from me!     si occideris Deus impium viri sanguinum declinate a me
 
20.    For they speak against you wickedly. Your enemies take your name in vain.     For they speak against thee wickedly, and thine enemies take thy name in vain.     אשר  יאמרך  למזמה 
נשא  לשוא  עריך׃
    'aShUr Y'aMUrK LMZMH NSh'a LShV'a 'yUrYK.     Who exchange Thee for wickedness, Lifted up to vanity are Thine enemies.     qui contradicent tibi scelerate elati sunt frustra adversarii tui
 
21.    Yahweh, don't I hate those who hate you? Am I not grieved with those who rise up against you?     Do not I hate them, O LORD, that hate thee? and am not I grieved with those that rise up against thee?     הלוא־משנאיך  יהוה 
אשנא  ובתקוממיך
אתקוטט׃
    HLV'a-MShN'aYK YHVH 'aShN'a VBThQVMMYK 'aThQVTT.     Do not I hate, Jehovah, those hating Thee? And with Thy withstanders grieve myself?     nonne odientes te Domine odivi et contra adversarios tuos distabui
 
22.    I hate them with perfect hatred. They have become my enemies.     I hate them with perfect hatred: I count them mine enemies.     תכלית  שנאה  שנאתים 
לאויבים  היו  לי׃
    ThKLYTh ShN'aH ShN'aThYM L'aVYBYM HYV LY.     With perfect hatred I have hated them, Enemies they have become to me.     perfecto odio oderam illos inimici facti sunt mihi
 
23.    Search me, God, and know my heart. Try me, and know my thoughts.     Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts:     חקרני  אל  ודע  לבבי 
בחנני  ודע  שרעפי׃
    ChQUrNY 'aL VD'y LBBY BChNNY VD'y ShUr'yPhY.     Search me, O God, and know my heart, Try me, and know my thoughts,     scrutare me Deus et cognosce cor meum proba me et scito cogitationes meas
 
24.    See if there is any wicked way in me, and lead me in the everlasting way.     And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.     וראה  אם־דרך־עצב 
בי  ונחני  בדרך
עולם׃
    VUr'aH 'aM-DUrK-'yTShB BY VNChNY BDUrK 'yVLM.     And see if a grievous way be in me, And lead me in a way age-during!     et vide si via idoli in me est et deduc me in via aeterna
