1.    {For the Chief Musician. For Jeduthun. A Psalm by David.} I said, "I will watch my ways, so that I don't sin with my tongue. I will keep my mouth with a bridle while the wicked is before me."     I said, I will take heed to my ways, that I sin not with my tongue: I will keep my mouth with a bridle, while the wicked is before me.     למנצח  לידיתון

2.    I was mute with silence. I held my peace, even from good. My sorrow was stirred.     I was dumb with silence, I held my peace, even from good; and my sorrow was stirred.     אמרתי  אשמרה  דרכי 
מחטוא  בלשוני
אשמרה  לפי  מחסום
בעד  רשע  לנגדי׃

4.    "Yahweh, show me my end, what is the measure of my days. Let me know how frail I am.     LORD, make me to know mine end, and the measure of my days, what it is: that I may know how frail I am.     חם־לבי  בקרבי 
בהגיגי  תבער־אש
דברתי  בלשוני׃

5.    Behold, you have made my days handbreadths. My lifetime is as nothing before you. Surely every man stands as a breath." Selah.     Behold, thou hast made my days as an handbreadth; and mine age is as nothing before thee: verily every man at his best state is altogether vanity. Selah.     הודיעני  יהוה  קצי 
ומדת  ימי  מה־היא
אדעה  מה־חדל  אני׃
    HVDY'yNY YHVH QTShY VMDTh YMY MH-HY'a 'aD'yH MH-ChDL 'aNY.     `Cause me to know, O Jehovah, mine end, And the measure of my days -- what it is,` I know how frail I am.     locutus sum lingua mea ostende mihi Domine finem meum et mensuram dierum meorum quae sit ut sciam quid mihi desit
 
6.    "Surely every man walks like a shadow. Surely they busy themselves in vain. He heaps up, and doesn't know who shall gather.     Surely every man walketh in a vain shew: surely they are disquieted in vain: he heapeth up riches, and knoweth not who shall gather them.     הנה  טפחות  נתתה 
ימי  וחלדי  כאין
נגדך  אך  כל־הבל
כל־אדם  נצב  סלה׃
    HNH TPhChVTh NThThH YMY VChLDY K'aYN NGDK 'aK KL-HBL KL-'aDM NTShB SLH.     Lo, handbreadths Thou hast made my days, And mine age is as nothing before Thee, Only, all vanity is every man set up. 8.    Deliver me from all my transgressions. Don't make me the reproach of the foolish.     Deliver me from all my transgressions: make me not the reproach of the foolish.     ועתה  מה־קויתי 
אדני  תוחלתי  לך
היא׃
    V'yThH MH-QVYThY 'aDNY ThVChLThY LK HY'a.     And, now, what have I expected? O Lord, my hope -- it is of Thee.     nunc ergo quid expecto Domine praestolatio mea tu es
 
9.    I was mute. I didn't open my mouth, because you did it.     I was dumb, I opened not my mouth; because thou didst it.     מכל־פשעי  הצילני

אל־תשימני׃
    MKL-PhSh'yY HTShYLNY ChUrPhTh NBL 'aL-ThShYMNY.     From all my transgressions deliver me, A reproach of the fool make me not.     ab omnibus iniquitatibus meis libera me obprobrium stulto ne ponas me
 
10.    Remove your scourge away from me. I am overcome by the blow of your hand.     Remove thy stroke away from me: I am consumed by the blow of thine hand.     נאלמתי  לא  אפתח־פי 
כי  אתה  עשית׃
    N'aLMThY L'a 'aPhThCh-PhY KY 'aThH 'yShYTh.     I have been dumb, I open not my mouth, Because Thou -- Thou hast done it.     obmutui non aperiam os meum quia tu fecisti
 
11.    When you rebuke and correct man for iniquity, You consume his wealth like a moth. Surely every man is but a breath." Selah.     When thou with rebukes dost correct man for iniquity, thou makest his beauty to consume away like a moth: surely every man is vanity. Selah.     הסר  מעלי  נגעך

12.    "Hear my prayer, Yahweh, and give ear to my cry. Don't be silent at my tears. For I am a stranger with you, a foreigner, as all my fathers were.     Hear my prayer, O LORD, and give ear unto my cry; hold not thy peace at my tears: for I am a stranger with thee, and a sojourner, as all my fathers were.     בתוכחות  על־עון 
יסרת  איש  ותמס  כעש
חמודו  אך  הבל
כל־אדם  סלה׃
    BThVKChVTh 'yL-'yVN YSUrTh 'aYSh VThMS K'ySh ChMVDV 'aK HBL KL-'aDM SLH.     With reproofs against iniquity, Thou hast corrected man, And dost waste as a moth his desirableness, Only, vanity is every man.
