| 2. | Yahweh will preserve him, and keep him alive. He shall be blessed on the earth, and he will not surrender him to the will of his enemies. | The LORD will preserve him, and keep him alive; and he shall be blessed upon the earth: and thou wilt not deliver him unto the will of his enemies. |
אשרי משכיל אל־דל ביום רעה ימלטהו יהוה׃ |

| 3. | Yahweh will sustain him on his sickbed, and restore him from his bed of illness. | The LORD will strengthen him upon the bed of languishing: thou wilt make all his bed in his sickness. |

| 6. | If he comes to see me, he speaks falsehood. His heart gathers iniquity to itself. When he goes abroad, he tells it. | And if he come to see me, he speaketh vanity: his heart gathereth iniquity to itself; when he goeth abroad, he telleth it. |

ואם־בא לראות שוא ידבר לבו יקבץ־און לו יצא לחוץ ידבר׃ |
V'aM-B'a LUr'aVTh ShV'a YDBUr LBV YQBTSh-'aVN LV YTSh'a LChVTSh YDBUr. | And if he came to see -- vanity he speaketh, His heart gathereth iniquity to itself, He goeth out -- at the street he speaketh. | et si venerit ut visitet vana loquetur cor eius congregabit iniquitatem sibi et egrediens foras detrahet | |||||
| 8. | "An evil disease," they say, "has afflicted him. Now that he lies he shall rise up no more." | An evil disease, say they, cleaveth fast unto him: and now that he lieth he shall rise up no more. |

| 9. | Yes, my own familiar friend, in whom I trusted, who ate bread with me, has lifted up his heel against me. | Yea, mine own familiar friend, in whom I trusted, which did eat of my bread, hath lifted up his heel against me. |

DBUr-BLY'yL YTShVQ BV V'aShUr ShKB L'a-YVSYPh LQVM. | A thing of Belial is poured out on him, And because he lay down he riseth not again. | verbum diabuli infundebant sibi qui dormivit non addet ut resurgat | |||||
| 10. | But you, Yahweh, have mercy on me, and raise me up, that I may repay them. | But thou, O LORD, be merciful unto me, and raise me up, that I may requite them. |
גם־איש שלומי אשר־בטחתי בו אוכל לחמי הגדיל עלי עקב׃ |
GM-'aYSh ShLVMY 'aShUr-BTChThY BV 'aVKL LChMY HGDYL 'yLY 'yQB. | Even mine ally, in whom I trusted, One eating my bread, made great the heel against me, | sed et homo pacificus meus in quo habui fiduciam qui manducabat panem meum levavit contra me plantam | |||||
| 11. | By this I know that you delight in me, because my enemy doesn't triumph over me. | By this I know that thou favourest me, because mine enemy doth not triumph over me. |
ואתה יהוה חנני והקימני ואשלמה להם׃ |
V'aThH YHVH ChNNY VHQYMNY V'aShLMH LHM. | And Thou, Jehovah, favour me, And cause me to rise, And I give recompence to them. | tu autem Domine miserere mei et leva me ut reddam eis | |||||
| 12. | As for me, you uphold me in my integrity, and set me in your presence forever. | And as for me, thou upholdest me in mine integrity, and settest me before thy face for ever. |
