1.    {For the Chief Musician. A Psalm by David.} Blessed is he who considers the poor. Yahweh will deliver him in the day of evil.     Blessed is he that considereth the poor: the LORD will deliver him in time of trouble.     למנצח  מזמור  לדוד׃      LMNTShCh MZMVUr LDVD.     To the Overseer. -- A Psalm of David.     pro victoria canticum David
 
2.    Yahweh will preserve him, and keep him alive. He shall be blessed on the earth, and he will not surrender him to the will of his enemies.     The LORD will preserve him, and keep him alive; and he shall be blessed upon the earth: and thou wilt not deliver him unto the will of his enemies.     אשרי  משכיל  אל־דל 
ביום  רעה  ימלטהו
יהוה׃
    'aShUrY MShKYL 'aL-DL BYVM Ur'yH YMLTHV YHVH.     O the happiness of him Who is acting wisely unto the poor, In a day of evil doth Jehovah deliver him.     beatus qui cogitat de paupere in die mala salvabit eum Dominus
 
3.    Yahweh will sustain him on his sickbed, and restore him from his bed of illness.     The LORD will strengthen him upon the bed of languishing: thou wilt make all his bed in his sickness.     יהוה  ישמרהו 
ויחיהו  יאשר  בארץ
ואל־תתנהו  בנפש
איביו׃
    YHVH YShMUrHV VYChYHV Y'aShUr B'aUrTSh V'aL-ThThNHV BNPhSh 'aYBYV.     Jehovah doth preserve him and revive him, He is happy in the land, And Thou givest him not into the will of his enemies.     Dominus custodiet eum et vivificabit eum et beatus erit in terra et non tradet eum animae inimicorum suorum
 
4.    I said, "Yahweh, have mercy on me! Heal me, for I have sinned against you."     I said, LORD, be merciful unto me: heal my soul; for I have sinned against thee.     יהוה  יסעדנו 
על־ערש  דוי
כל־משכבו  הפכת
בחליו׃
    YHVH YS'yDNV 'yL-'yUrSh DVY KL-MShKBV HPhKTh BChLYV.     Jehovah supporteth on a couch of sickness, All his bed Thou hast turned in his weakness.     Dominus confortabit eum in lecto infirmitatis totum stratum eius vertisti in aegrotatione sua
 
5.    My enemies speak evil against me: "When will he die, and his name perish?"     Mine enemies speak evil of me, When shall he die, and his name perish?     אני־אמרתי  יהוה 
חנני  רפאה  נפשי
כי־חטאתי  לך׃
    'aNY-'aMUrThY YHVH ChNNY UrPh'aH NPhShY KY-ChT'aThY LK.     I -- I said, `O Jehovah, favour me, Heal my soul, for I did sin against Thee,`     ego dixi Domine miserere mei sana animam meam quoniam peccavi tibi
 
6.    If he comes to see me, he speaks falsehood. His heart gathers iniquity to itself. When he goes abroad, he tells it.     And if he come to see me, he speaketh vanity: his heart gathereth iniquity to itself; when he goeth abroad, he telleth it.     אויבי  יאמרו  רע  לי 
מתי  ימות  ואבד
שמו׃
    'aVYBY Y'aMUrV Ur'y LY MThY YMVTh V'aBD ShMV.     Mine enemies say evil of me: When he dieth -- his name hath perished!     inimici mei loquentur malum mihi quando morietur et periet nomen eius
 
7.    All who hate me whisper together against me. They imagine the worst for me.     All that hate me whisper together against me: against me do they devise my hurt.     ואם־בא  לראות  שוא 
ידבר  לבו  יקבץ־און
לו  יצא  לחוץ  ידבר׃
    V'aM-B'a LUr'aVTh ShV'a YDBUr LBV YQBTSh-'aVN LV YTSh'a LChVTSh YDBUr.     And if he came to see -- vanity he speaketh, His heart gathereth iniquity to itself, He goeth out -- at the street he speaketh.     et si venerit ut visitet vana loquetur cor eius congregabit iniquitatem sibi et egrediens foras detrahet
 
8.    "An evil disease," they say, "has afflicted him. Now that he lies he shall rise up no more."     An evil disease, say they, cleaveth fast unto him: and now that he lieth he shall rise up no more.     יחד  עלי  יתלחשו 
כל־שנאי  עלי  יחשבו
רעה  לי׃
    YChD 'yLY YThLChShV KL-ShN'aY 'yLY YChShBV Ur'yH LY.     All hating me whisper together against me, Against me they devise evil to me:     simul adversum me murmurabant omnes odientes me contra cogitabant malum mihi
 
9.    Yes, my own familiar friend, in whom I trusted, who ate bread with me, has lifted up his heel against me.     Yea, mine own familiar friend, in whom I trusted, which did eat of my bread, hath lifted up his heel against me.     דבר־בליעל  יצוק  בו 
ואשר  שכב  לא־יוסיף
לקום׃
    DBUr-BLY'yL YTShVQ BV V'aShUr ShKB L'a-YVSYPh LQVM.     A thing of Belial is poured out on him, And because he lay down he riseth not again.     verbum diabuli infundebant sibi qui dormivit non addet ut resurgat
 
10.    But you, Yahweh, have mercy on me, and raise me up, that I may repay them.     But thou, O LORD, be merciful unto me, and raise me up, that I may requite them.     גם־איש  שלומי 
אשר־בטחתי  בו  אוכל
לחמי  הגדיל  עלי
עקב׃
    GM-'aYSh ShLVMY 'aShUr-BTChThY BV 'aVKL LChMY HGDYL 'yLY 'yQB.     Even mine ally, in whom I trusted, One eating my bread, made great the heel against me,     sed et homo pacificus meus in quo habui fiduciam qui manducabat panem meum levavit contra me plantam
 
11.    By this I know that you delight in me, because my enemy doesn't triumph over me.     By this I know that thou favourest me, because mine enemy doth not triumph over me.     ואתה  יהוה  חנני 
והקימני  ואשלמה
להם׃
    V'aThH YHVH ChNNY VHQYMNY V'aShLMH LHM.     And Thou, Jehovah, favour me, And cause me to rise, And I give recompence to them.     tu autem Domine miserere mei et leva me ut reddam eis
 
12.    As for me, you uphold me in my integrity, and set me in your presence forever.     And as for me, thou upholdest me in mine integrity, and settest me before thy face for ever.     בזאת  ידעתי 
כי־חפצת  בי  כי
לא־יריע  איבי  עלי׃
    BZ'aTh YD'yThY KY-ChPhTShTh BY KY L'a-YUrY'y 'aYBY 'yLY.     By this I have known, That Thou hast delighted in me, Because my enemy shouteth not over me.     in hoc cognovi quod velis me quia non insultavit inimicus meus mihi
 
13.    Blessed be Yahweh, the God of Israel, from everlasting and to everlasting! Amen and amen.     Blessed be the LORD God of Israel from everlasting, and to everlasting. Amen, and Amen.     ואני  בתמי  תמכת  בי
