1.    {For the Chief Musician. A contemplation by the sons of Korah.} As the deer pants for the water brooks, so my soul pants after you, God{The Hebrew word rendered "God" is "Elohim."}.     As the hart panteth after the water brooks, so panteth my soul after thee, O God.     למנצח  משכיל

2.    My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. When shall I come and appear before God?     My soul thirsteth for God, for the living God: when shall I come and appear before God?     כאיל  תערג

אלהים׃
    K'aYL Th'yUrG 'yL-'aPhYQY-MYM KN NPhShY Th'yUrG 'aLYK 'aLHYM.     As a hart doth pant for streams of water, So my soul panteth toward Thee, O God.     sicut areola praeparata ad inrigationes aquarum sic anima mea praeparata est ad te Deus
 
3.    My tears have been my food day and night, while they continually ask me, "Where is your God?"     My tears have been my meat day and night, while they continually say unto me, Where is thy God?     צמאה  נפשי  לאלהים 
לאל  חי  מתי  אבוא
ואראה  פני  אלהים׃

4.    These things I remember, and pour out my soul within me, how I used to go with the crowd, and led them to the house of God, with the voice of joy and praise, a multitude keeping a holy day.     When I remember these things, I pour out my soul in me: for I had gone with the multitude, I went with them to the house of God, with the voice of joy and praise, with a multitude that kept holyday.     היתה־לי  דמעתי  לחם

אלי  כל־היום  איה
אלהיך׃
    HYThH-LY DM'yThY LChM YVMM VLYLH B'aMUr 'aLY KL-HYVM 'aYH 'aLHYK.     My tear hath been to me bread day and night, In their saying unto me all the day, `Where is thy God?`     fuerunt mihi lacrimae meae panis per diem ac noctem cum diceretur mihi tota die ubi est Deus tuus
 
5.    Why are you in despair, my soul? Why are you disturbed within me? Hope in God! For I shall still praise him for the saving help of his presence.     Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted in me? hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise him for the help of his countenance.     אלה  אזכרה  ואשפכה

בסך  אדדם  עד־בית
אלהים  בקול־  רנה
ותודה  המון  חוגג׃
    'aLH 'aZKUrH V'aShPhKH 'yLY NPhShY KY 'a'yBUr BSK 'aDDM 'yD-BYTh 'aLHYM BQVL- UrNH VThVDH HMVN ChVGG.     These I remember, and pour out my soul in me, For I pass over into the booth, I go softly with them unto the house of God, With the voice of singing and confession, The multitude keeping feast!     horum recordatus sum et effudi in me animam meam quia veniam ad umbraculum tacebo usque ad domum Dei in voce laudis et confessionis multitudinis festa celebrantis
 
6.    My God, my soul is in despair within me. Therefore I remember you from the land of the Jordan, the heights of Hermon, from the hill Mizar.     O my God, my soul is cast down within me: therefore will I remember thee from the land of Jordan, and of the Hermonites, from the hill Mizar.     מה־תשתוחחי  נפשי 
ותהמי  עלי  הוחילי
לאלהים  כי־עוד
אודנו  ישועות

    MH-ThShThVChChY NPhShY VThHMY 'yLY HVChYLY L'aLHYM KY-'yVD 'aVDNV YShV'yVTh PhNYV.     What! bowest thou thyself, O my soul? Yea, art thou troubled within me? Wait for God, for still I confess Him: The salvation of my countenance -- My God!     quare incurvaris anima mea et conturbas me expecta Dominum quia adhuc confitebor ei salutaribus vultus eius
 
7.    Deep calls to deep at the noise of your waterfalls. All your waves and your billows have swept over me.     Deep calleth unto deep at the noise of thy waterspouts: all thy waves and thy billows are gone over me.     אלהי  עלי  נפשי

    'aLHY 'yLY NPhShY ThShThVChCh 'yL-KN 'aZKUrK M'aUrTSh YUrDN VChUrMVNYM MHUr MTSh'yUr.     In me doth my soul bow itself, Therefore I remember Thee from the land of Jordan, And of the Hermons, from the hill Mizar.     Deus meus in memet ipso anima mea incurvatur propterea recordabor tui de terra Iordanis et Hermoniim de monte minimo
 
8.    Yahweh{"Yahweh" is God's proper Name, sometimes rendered "LORD" (all caps) in other translations.} will command his loving kindness in the daytime. In the night his song shall be with me: a prayer to the God of my life.     Yet the LORD will command his loving-kindness in the day time, and in the night his song shall be with me, and my prayer unto the God of my life.     תהום־אל־תהום  קורא 
לקול  צנוריך
כל־משבריך  וגליך
עלי  עברו׃
    ThHVM-'aL-ThHVM QVUr'a LQVL TShNVUrYK KL-MShBUrYK VGLYK 'yLY 'yBUrV.     Deep unto deep is calling At the noise of Thy water-spouts, All Thy breakers and Thy billows passed over me.     abyssus abyssum vocat in voce cataractarum tuarum omnes gurgites tui et fluctus tui super me transierunt
 
9.    I will ask God, my rock, "Why have you forgotten me? Why do I go mourning because of the oppression of the enemy?"     I will say unto God my rock, Why hast thou forgotten me? why go I mourning because of the oppression of the enemy?     יומם  יצוה  יהוה 
חסדו  ובלילה  שירה
עמי  תפלה  לאל  חיי׃
    YVMM YTShVH YHVH ChSDV VBLYLH ShYUrH 'yMY ThPhLH L'aL ChYY.     By day Jehovah commandeth His kindness, And by night a song is with me, A prayer to the God of my life.     per diem mandavit Dominus misericordiam suam et in nocte canticum eius mecum oratio Deo vitae meae
 
10.    As with a sword in my bones, my adversaries reproach me, while they continually ask me, "Where is your God?"     As with a sword in my bones, mine enemies reproach me; while they say daily unto me, Where is thy God?     אומרה  לאל  סלעי
