| 2. | Yahweh said to him, "What is that in your hand?" He said, "A rod." | And the LORD said unto him, What is that in thine hand? And he said, A rod. |

| 3. | He said, "Throw it on the ground." He threw it on the ground, and it became a snake; and Moses ran away from it. | And he said, Cast it on the ground. And he cast it on the ground, and it became a serpent; and Moses fled from before it. |

| 8. | "It will happen, if they will neither believe you nor listen to the voice of the first sign, that they will believe the voice of the latter sign. | And it shall come to pass, if they will not believe thee, neither hearken to the voice of the first sign, that they will believe the voice of the latter sign. |
והיה אם־לא יאמינו לך ולא ישמעו לקל האת הראשון והאמינו לקל האת האחרון׃ |
VHYH 'aM-L'a Y'aMYNV LK VL'a YShM'yV LQL H'aTh HUr'aShVN VH'aMYNV LQL H'aTh H'aChUrVN. | `-- and it hath come to pass, if they do not give credence to thee, and hearken not to the voice of the first sign, that they have given credence to the voice of the latter sign. | si non crediderint inquit tibi neque audierint sermonem signi prioris credent verbo signi sequentis | |||||
| 9. | It will happen, if they will not believe even these two signs, neither listen to your voice, that you shall take of the water of the river, and pour it on the dry land. The water which you take out of the river will become blood on the dry land." | And it shall come to pass, if they will not believe also these two signs, neither hearken unto thy voice, that thou shalt take of the water of the river, and pour it upon the dry land: and the water which thou takest out of the river shall become blood upon the dry land. |

| 10. | Moses said to Yahweh, "O Lord,{The word translated "Lord" is "Adonai."} I am not eloquent, neither before now, nor since you have spoken to your servant; for I am slow of speech, and of a slow tongue." | And Moses said unto the LORD, O my LORD, I am not eloquent, neither heretofore, nor since thou hast spoken unto thy servant: but I am slow of speech, and of a slow tongue. |

| 11. | Yahweh said to him, "Who made man's mouth? Or who makes one mute, or deaf, or seeing, or blind? Isn't it I, Yahweh? | And the LORD said unto him, Who hath made man's mouth? or who maketh the dumb, or deaf, or the seeing, or the blind? have not I the LORD? |

| 13. | He said, "Oh, Lord, please send someone else." | And he said, O my LORD, send, I pray thee, by the hand of him whom thou wilt send. |
ויאמר בי אדני שלח־נא ביד־תשלח׃ |
VY'aMUr BY 'aDNY ShLCh-N'a BYD-ThShLCh. | and he saith, `O, my Lord, send, I pray thee, by the hand Thou dost send.` | at ille obsecro inquit Domine mitte quem missurus es | |||||
| 14. | The anger of Yahweh was kindled against Moses, and he said, "What about Aaron, your brother, the Levite? I know that he can speak well. Also, behold, he comes forth to meet you. When he sees you, he will be glad in his heart. | And the anger of the LORD was kindled against Moses, and he said, Is not Aaron the Levite thy brother? I know that he can speak well. And also, behold, he cometh forth to meet thee: and when he seeth thee, he will be glad in his heart. |
ויחר־אף יהוה במשה ויאמר הלא אהרן אחיך הלוי ידעתי כי־דבר ידבר הוא וגם הנה־הוא יצא לקראתך וראך ושמח בלבו׃ |
VYChUr-'aPh YHVH BMShH VY'aMUr HL'a 'aHUrN 'aChYK HLVY YD'yThY KY-DBUr YDBUr HV'a VGM HNH-HV'a YTSh'a LQUr'aThK VUr'aK VShMCh BLBV. | And the anger of Jehovah burneth against Moses, and He saith, `Is not Aaron the Levite thy brother? I have known that he speaketh well, and also, lo, he is coming out to meet thee; when he hath seen thee, then he hath rejoiced in his heart, | iratus Dominus in Mosen ait Aaron frater tuus Levites scio quod eloquens sit ecce ipse egreditur in occursum tuum vidensque te laetabitur corde | |||||
| 15. | You shall speak to him, and put the words in his mouth. I will be with your mouth, and with his mouth, and will teach you what you shall do. | And thou shalt speak unto him, and put words in his mouth: and I will be with thy mouth, and with his mouth, and will teach you what ye shall do. |
ודברת אליו ושמת את־הדברים בפיו ואנכי אהיה עם־פיך ועם־פיהו והוריתי אתכם את אשר תעשון׃ |
VDBUrTh 'aLYV VShMTh 'aTh-HDBUrYM BPhYV V'aNKY 'aHYH 'yM-PhYK V'yM-PhYHV VHVUrYThY 'aThKM 'aTh 'aShUr Th'yShVN. | and thou hast spoken unto him, and hast set the words in his mouth, and I -- I am with thy mouth, and with his mouth, and have directed you that which ye do; | loquere ad eum et pone verba mea in ore eius ego ero in ore tuo et in ore illius et ostendam vobis quid agere debeatis | |||||
| 16. | He will be your spokesman to the people; and it will happen, that he will be to you a mouth, and you will be to him as God. | And he shall be thy spokesman unto the people: and he shall be, even he shall be to thee instead of a mouth, and thou shalt be to him instead of God. |
ודבר־הוא לך אל־העם והיה הוא יהיה־לך לפה ואתה תהיה־לו לאלהים׃ |
VDBUr-HV'a LK 'aL-H'yM VHYH HV'a YHYH-LK LPhH V'aThH ThHYH-LV L'aLHYM. | and he, he hath spoken for thee unto the people, and it hath come to pass, he -- he is to thee for a mouth, and thou -- thou art to him for God; | ipse loquetur pro te ad populum et erit os tuum tu autem eris ei in his quae ad Deum pertinent | |||||
| 17. | You shall take this rod in your hand, with which you shall do the signs." | And thou shalt take this rod in thine hand, wherewith thou shalt do signs. |

| 18. | Moses went and returned to Jethro his father-in-law, and said to him, "Please let me go and return to my brothers who are in Egypt, and see whether they are still alive." Jethro said to Moses, "Go in peace." | And Moses went and returned to Jethro his father in law, and said unto him, Let me go, I pray thee, and return unto my brethren which are in Egypt, and see whether they be yet alive. And Jethro said to Moses, Go in peace. |
וילך משה וישב אל־יתר חתנו ויאמר לו אלכה נא ואשובה אל־אחי אשר־ במצרים ואראה העודם חיים ויאמר יתרו למשה לך לשלום׃ |

V'aMUrTh 'aL-PhUr'yH KH 'aMUr YHVH BNY BKUrY YShUr'aL. | and thou hast said unto Pharaoh, Thus said Jehovah, My son, My first-born is Israel, | dicesque ad eum haec dicit Dominus filius meus primogenitus meus Israhel | |||||
| 23. | and I have said to you, "Let my son go, that he may serve me;" and you have refused to let him go. Behold, I will kill your son, your firstborn.'" | And I say unto thee, Let my son go, that he may serve me: and if thou refuse to let him go, behold, I will slay thy son, even thy firstborn. |

| 24. | It happened on the way at a lodging place, that Yahweh met Moses and wanted to kill him. | And it came to pass by the way in the inn, that the LORD met him, and sought to kill him. |

VYHY BDUrK BMLVN VYPhGShHV YHVH VYBQSh HMYThV. | And it cometh to pass in the way, in a lodging place, that Jehovah meeteth him, and seeketh to put him to death; | cumque esset in itinere in diversorio occurrit ei Dominus et volebat occidere eum | |||||
| 25. | Then Zipporah took a flint, and cut off the foreskin of her son, and cast it at his feet; and she said, "Surely you are a bridegroom of blood to me." | Then Zipporah took a sharp stone, and cut off the foreskin of her son, and cast it at his feet, and said, Surely a bloody husband art thou to me. |
ותקח צפרה צר ותכרת את־ערלת בנה ותגע לרגליו ותאמר כי חתן־דמים אתה לי׃ |

| 27. | Yahweh said to Aaron, "Go into the wilderness to meet Moses." He went, and met him on God's mountain, and kissed him. | And the LORD said to Aaron, Go into the wilderness to meet Moses. And he went, and met him in the mount of God, and kissed him. |
