1.    Whoever loves correction loves knowledge, but he who hates reproof is stupid.     Whoso loveth instruction loveth knowledge: but he that hateth reproof is brutish.     אהב  מוסר  אהב  דעת 
ושנא  תוכחת  בער׃
    'aHB MVSUr 'aHB D'yTh VShN'a ThVKChTh B'yUr.     Whoso is loving instruction, is loving knowledge, And whoso is hating reproof is brutish.     qui diligit disciplinam diligit scientiam qui autem odit increpationes insipiens est
 
2.    A good man shall obtain favor from Yahweh, but he will condemn a man of wicked devices.     A good man obtaineth favour of the LORD: but a man of wicked devices will he condemn.     טוב  יפיק  רצון 
מיהוה  ואיש  מזמות
ירשיע׃
    TVB YPhYQ UrTShVN MYHVH V'aYSh MZMVTh YUrShY'y.     The good bringeth forth favour from Jehovah, And the man of wicked devices He condemneth.     qui bonus est hauriet a Domino gratiam qui autem confidit cogitationibus suis impie agit
 
3.    A man shall not be established by wickedness, but the root of the righteous shall not be moved.     A man shall not be established by wickedness: but the root of the righteous shall not be moved.     לא־יכון  אדם  ברשע 
ושרש  צדיקים
בל־ימוט׃
    L'a-YKVN 'aDM BUrSh'y VShUrSh TShDYQYM BL-YMVT.     A man is not established by wickedness, And the root of the righteous is not moved.     non roborabitur homo ex impietate et radix iustorum non commovebitur
 
4.    A worthy woman is the crown of her husband, but a disgraceful wife is as rottenness in his bones.     A virtuous woman is a crown to her husband: but she that maketh ashamed is as rottenness in his bones.     אשת־חיל  עטרת  בעלה 
וכרקב  בעצמותיו
מבישה׃
    'aShTh-ChYL 'yTUrTh B'yLH VKUrQB B'yTShMVThYV MBYShH.     A virtuous woman is a crown to her husband, And as rottenness in his bones is one causing shame.     mulier diligens corona viro suo et putredo in ossibus eius quae confusione res dignas gerit
 
5.    The thoughts of the righteous are just, but the advice of the wicked is deceitful.     The thoughts of the righteous are right: but the counsels of the wicked are deceit.     מחשבות  צדיקים 
משפט  תחבלות  רשעים
מרמה׃
    MChShBVTh TShDYQYM MShPhT ThChBLVTh UrSh'yYM MUrMH.     The thoughts of the righteous are justice, The counsels of the wicked -- deceit.     cogitationes iustorum iudicia et consilia impiorum fraudulentia
 
6.    The words of the wicked are about lying in wait for blood, but the speech of the upright rescues them.     The words of the wicked are to lie in wait for blood: but the mouth of the upright shall deliver them.     דברי  רשעים  ארב־דם 
ופי  ישרים  יצילם׃
    DBUrY UrSh'yYM 'aUrB-DM VPhY YShUrYM YTShYLM.     The words of the wicked are: `Lay wait for blood,` And the mouth of the upright delivereth them.     verba impiorum insidiantur sanguini os iustorum liberabit eos
 
7.    The wicked are overthrown, and are no more, but the house of the righteous shall stand.     The wicked are overthrown, and are not: but the house of the righteous shall stand.     הפוך  רשעים  ואינם 
ובית  צדיקים  יעמד׃
    HPhVK UrSh'yYM V'aYNM VBYTh TShDYQYM Y'yMD.     Overthrow the wicked, and they are not, And the house of the righteous standeth.     verte impios et non erunt domus autem iustorum permanebit
 
8.    A man shall be commended according to his wisdom, but he who has a warped mind shall be despised.     A man shall be commended according to his wisdom: but he that is of a perverse heart shall be despised.     לפי־שכלו  יהלל־איש 
ונעוה־לב  יהיה
לבוז׃
    LPhY-ShKLV YHLL-'aYSh VN'yVH-LB YHYH LBVZ.     According to his wisdom is a man praised, And the perverted of heart becometh despised.     doctrina sua noscetur vir qui autem vanus et excors est patebit contemptui
 
9.    Better is he who is lightly esteemed, and has a servant, than he who honors himself, and lacks bread.     He that is despised, and hath a servant, is better than he that honoureth himself, and lacketh bread.     טוב  נקלה  ועבד  לו 
ממתכבד  וחסר־לחם׃
    TVB NQLH V'yBD LV MMThKBD VChSUr-LChM.     Better is the lightly esteemed who hath a servant, Than the self-honoured who lacketh bread.     melior est pauper et sufficiens sibi quam gloriosus et indigens pane
 
10.    A righteous man respects the life of his animal, but the tender mercies of the wicked are cruel.     A righteous man regardeth the life of his beast: but the tender mercies of the wicked are cruel.     יודע  צדיק  נפש 
בהמתו  ורחמי  רשעים
אכזרי׃
    YVD'y TShDYQ NPhSh BHMThV VUrChMY UrSh'yYM 'aKZUrY.     The righteous knoweth the life of his beast, And the mercies of the wicked are cruel.     novit iustus animas iumentorum suorum viscera autem impiorum crudelia
 
11.    He who tills his land shall have plenty of bread, but he who chases fantasies is void of understanding.     He that tilleth his land shall be satisfied with bread: but he that followeth vain persons is void of understanding.     עבד  אדמתו 
ישבע־לחם  ומרדף
ריקים  חסר־לב׃
    'yBD 'aDMThV YShB'y-LChM VMUrDPh UrYQYM ChSUr-LB.     Whoso is tilling the ground is satisfied with bread, And whoso is pursuing vanities is lacking heart,     qui operatur terram suam saturabitur panibus qui autem sectatur otium stultissimus est
 
12.    The wicked desires the plunder of evil men, but the root of the righteous flourishes.     The wicked desireth the net of evil men: but the root of the righteous yieldeth fruit.     חמד  רשע  מצוד  רעים 
ושרש  צדיקים  יתן׃
    ChMD UrSh'y MTShVD Ur'yYM VShUrSh TShDYQYM YThN.     The wicked hath desired the net of evil doers, And the root of the righteous giveth.     desiderium impii munimentum est pessimorum radix autem iustorum proficiet
 
13.    An evil man is trapped by sinfulness of lips, but the righteous shall come out of trouble.     The wicked is snared by the transgression of his lips: but the just shall come out of trouble.     בפשע  שפתים  מוקש 
רע  ויצא  מצרה
צדיק׃
    BPhSh'y ShPhThYM MVQSh Ur'y VYTSh'a MTShUrH TShDYQ.     In transgression of the lips is the snare of the wicked, And the righteous goeth out from distress.     propter peccata labiorum ruina proximat malo effugiet autem iustus de angustia
 
14.    A man shall be satisfied with good by the fruit of his mouth. The work of a man's hands shall be rewarded to him.     A man shall be satisfied with good by the fruit of his mouth: and the recompence of a man's hands shall be rendered unto him.     מפרי  פי־איש 
ישבע־טוב  וגמול
ידי־אדם  ישוב  לו׃
    MPhUrY PhY-'aYSh YShB'y-TVB VGMVL YDY-'aDM YShVB LV.     From the fruit of the mouth is one satisfied with good, And the deed of man`s hands returneth to him.     de fructu oris sui unusquisque replebitur bonis et iuxta opera manuum suarum retribuetur ei
 
15.    The way of a fool is right in his own eyes, but he who is wise listens to counsel.     The way of a fool is right in his own eyes: but he that hearkeneth unto counsel is wise.     דרך  אויל  ישר 
בעיניו  ושמע  לעצה
חכם׃
    DUrK 'aVYL YShUr B'yYNYV VShM'y L'yTShH ChKM.     The way of a fool is right in his own eyes, And whoso is hearkening to counsel is wise.     via stulti recta in oculis eius qui autem sapiens est audit consilia
 
16.    A fool shows his annoyance the same day, but one who overlooks an insult is prudent.     A fool's wrath is presently known: but a prudent man covereth shame.     אויל  ביום  יודע 
כעסו  וכסה  קלון
ערום׃
    'aVYL BYVM YVD'y K'ySV VKSH QLVN 'yUrVM.     The fool -- in a day is his anger known, And the prudent is covering shame.     fatuus statim indicat iram suam qui autem dissimulat iniuriam callidus est
 
17.    He who is truthful testifies honestly, but a false witness lies.     He that speaketh truth sheweth forth righteousness: but a false witness deceit.     יפיח  אמונה  יגיד 
צדק  ועד  שקרים
מרמה׃
    YPhYCh 'aMVNH YGYD TShDQ V'yD ShQUrYM MUrMH.     Whoso uttereth faithfulness declareth righteousness, And a false witness -- deceit.     qui quod novit loquitur index iustitiae est qui autem mentitur testis est fraudulentus
 
18.    There is one who speaks rashly like the piercing of a sword, but the tongue of the wise heals.     There is that speaketh like the piercings of a sword: but the tongue of the wise is health.     יש  בוטה  כמדקרות 
חרב  ולשון  חכמים
מרפא׃
    YSh BVTH KMDQUrVTh ChUrB VLShVN ChKMYM MUrPh'a.     A rash speaker is like piercings of a sword, And the tongue of the wise is healing.     est qui promittit et quasi gladio pungitur conscientiae lingua autem sapientium sanitas est
 
19.    Truth's lips will be established forever, but a lying tongue is only momentary.     The lip of truth shall be established for ever: but a lying tongue is but for a moment.     שפת־אמת  תכון  לעד 
ועד־ארגיעה  לשון
שקר׃
    ShPhTh-'aMTh ThKVN L'yD V'yD-'aUrGY'yH LShVN ShQUr.     The lip of truth is established for ever, And for a moment -- a tongue of falsehood.     labium veritatis firmum erit in perpetuum qui autem testis est repentinus concinnat linguam mendacii
 
20.    Deceit is in the heart of those who plot evil, but joy comes to the promoters of peace.     Deceit is in the heart of them that imagine evil: but to the counsellors of peace is joy.     מרמה  בלב־חרשי  רע 
וליעצי  שלום  שמחה׃
    MUrMH BLB-ChUrShY Ur'y VLY'yTShY ShLVM ShMChH.     Deceit is in the heart of those devising evil, And to those counselling peace is joy.     dolus in corde cogitantium mala qui autem ineunt pacis consilia sequitur eos gaudium
 
21.    No mischief shall happen to the righteous, but the wicked shall be filled with evil.     There shall no evil happen to the just: but the wicked shall be filled with mischief.     לא־יאנה  לצדיק 
כל־און  ורשעים
מלאו  רע׃
    L'a-Y'aNH LTShDYQ KL-'aVN VUrSh'yYM ML'aV Ur'y.     No iniquity is desired by the righteous, And the wicked have been full of evil.     non contristabit iustum quicquid ei acciderit impii autem replebuntur malo
 
22.    Lying lips are an abomination to Yahweh, but those who do the truth are his delight.     Lying lips are abomination to the LORD: but they that deal truly are his delight.     תועבת  יהוה 
שפתי־שקר  ועשי
אמונה  רצונו׃
    ThV'yBTh YHVH ShPhThY-ShQUr V'yShY 'aMVNH UrTShVNV.     An abomination to Jehovah are lying lips, And stedfast doers are his delight.     abominatio Domino labia mendacia qui autem fideliter agunt placent ei
 
23.    A prudent man keeps his knowledge, but the hearts of fools proclaim foolishness.     A prudent man concealeth knowledge: but the heart of fools proclaimeth foolishness.     אדם  ערום  כסה  דעת 
ולב  כסילים  יקרא
אולת׃
    'aDM 'yUrVM KSH D'yTh VLB KSYLYM YQUr'a 'aVLTh.     A prudent man is concealing knowledge, And the heart of fools proclaimeth folly.     homo versutus celat scientiam et cor insipientium provocabit stultitiam
 
24.    The hands of the diligent ones shall rule, but laziness ends in slave labor.     The hand of the diligent shall bear rule: but the slothful shall be under tribute.     יד־חרוצים  תמשול 
ורמיה  תהיה  למס׃
    YD-ChUrVTShYM ThMShVL VUrMYH ThHYH LMS.     The hand of the diligent ruleth, And slothfulness becometh tributary.     manus fortium dominabitur quae autem remissa est tributis serviet
 
25.    Anxiety in a man's heart weighs it down, but a kind word makes it glad.     Heaviness in the heart of man maketh it stoop: but a good word maketh it glad.     דאגה  בלב־איש 
ישחנה  ודבר  טוב
ישמחנה׃
    D'aGH BLB-'aYSh YShChNH VDBUr TVB YShMChNH.     Sorrow in the heart of a man boweth down, And a good word maketh him glad.     maeror in corde viri humiliabit illud et sermone bono laetificabitur
 
26.    A righteous person is cautious in friendship, but the way of the wicked leads them astray.     The righteous is more excellent than his neighbour: but the way of the wicked seduceth them.     יתר  מרעהו  צדיק 
ודרך  רשעים  תתעם׃
    YThUr MUr'yHV TShDYQ VDUrK UrSh'yYM ThTh'yM.     The righteous searcheth his companion, And the way of the wicked causeth them to err.     qui neglegit damnum propter amicum iustus est iter autem impiorum decipiet eos
 
27.    The slothful man doesn't roast his game, but the possessions of diligent men are prized.     The slothful man roasteth not that which he took in hunting: but the substance of a diligent man is precious.     לא־יחרך  רמיה  צידו 
והון־אדם  יקר
חרוץ׃
    L'a-YChUrK UrMYH TShYDV VHVN-'aDM YQUr ChUrVTSh.     The slothful roasteth not his hunting, And the wealth of a diligent man is precious.     non inveniet fraudulentus lucrum et substantia hominis erit auri pretium
 
28.    In the way of righteousness is life; in its path there is no death.     In the way of righteousness is life: and in the pathway thereof there is no death.     בארח־צדקה  חיים

    B'aUrCh-TShDQH ChYYM VDUrK NThYBH 'aL-MVTh.     In the path of righteousness is life, And in the way of that path is no death!     in semita iustitiae vita iter autem devium ducit ad mortem
