1.    Every wise woman builds her house, but the foolish one tears it down with her own hands.     Every wise woman buildeth her house: but the foolish plucketh it down with her hands.     חכמות  נשים  בנתה

2.    He who walks in his uprightness fears Yahweh, but he who is perverse in his ways despises him.     He that walketh in his uprightness feareth the LORD: but he that is perverse in his ways despiseth him.     הולך  בישרו  ירא 
יהוה  ונלוז  דרכיו

3.    The fool's talk brings a rod to his back, but the lips of the wise protect them.     In the mouth of the foolish is a rod of pride: but the lips of the wise shall preserve them.     בפי־אויל  חטר  גאוה 
ושפתי  חכמים
תשמורם׃
    BPhY-'aVYL ChTUr G'aVH VShPhThY ChKMYM ThShMVUrM.     In the mouth of a fool is a rod of pride, And the lips of the wise preserve them.     in ore stulti virga superbiae labia sapientium custodiunt eos
 
4.    Where no oxen are, the crib is clean, but much increase is by the strength of the ox.     Where no oxen are, the crib is clean: but much increase is by the strength of the ox.     באין  אלפים  אבוס 
בר  ורב־תבואות  בכח

    B'aYN 'aLPhYM 'aBVS BUr VUrB-ThBV'aVTh BKCh ShVUr.     Without oxen a stall is clean, And great is the increase by the power of the ox.     ubi non sunt boves praesepe vacuum est ubi autem plurimae segetes ibi manifesta fortitudo bovis
 
5.    A truthful witness will not lie, but a false witness pours out lies.     A faithful witness will not lie: but a false witness will utter lies.     עד  אמונים  לא  יכזב 
ויפיח  כזבים  עד
שקר׃
    'yD 'aMVNYM L'a YKZB VYPhYCh KZBYM 'yD ShQUr.     A faithful witness lieth not, And a false witness breatheth out lies.     testis fidelis non mentietur profert mendacium testis dolosus
 
6.    A scoffer seeks wisdom, and doesn't find it, but knowledge comes easily to a discerning person.     A scorner seeketh wisdom, and findeth it not: but knowledge is easy unto him that understandeth.     בקש־לץ  חכמה  ואין 
ודעת  לנבון  נקל׃
    BQSh-LTSh ChKMH V'aYN VD'yTh LNBVN NQL.     A scorner hath sought wisdom, and it is not, And knowledge to the intelligent is easy.     quaerit derisor sapientiam et non inveniet doctrina prudentium facilis
 
7.    Stay away from a foolish man, for you won't find knowledge on his lips.     Go from the presence of a foolish man, when thou perceivest not in him the lips of knowledge.     לך  מנגד  לאיש  כסיל 
ובל־ידעת
שפתי־דעת׃
    LK MNGD L'aYSh KSYL VBL-YD'yTh ShPhThY-D'yTh.     Go from before a foolish man, Or thou hast not known the lips of knowledge.     vade contra virum stultum et nescito labia prudentiae
 
8.    The wisdom of the prudent is to think about his way, but the folly of fools is deceit.     The wisdom of the prudent is to understand his way: but the folly of fools is deceit.     חכמת  ערום  הבין 
דרכו  ואולת  כסילים

9.    Fools mock at making atonement for sins, but among the upright there is good will.     Fools make a mock at sin: but among the righteous there is favour.     אולים  יליץ  אשם 
ובין  ישרים  רצון׃
    'aVLYM YLYTSh 'aShM VBYN YShUrYM UrTShVN.     Fools mock at a guilt-offering, And among the upright -- a pleasing thing.     stultis inludet peccatum inter iustos morabitur gratia
 
10.    The heart knows its own bitterness and joy; he will not share these with a stranger.     The heart knoweth his own bitterness; and a stranger doth not intermeddle with his joy.     לב  יודע  מרת  נפשו 
ובשמחתו  לא־יתערב
זר׃
    LB YVD'y MUrTh NPhShV VBShMChThV L'a-YTh'yUrB ZUr.     The heart knoweth its own bitterness, And with its joy a stranger doth not intermeddle.     cor quod novit amaritudinem animae suae in gaudio eius non miscebitur extraneus
 
11.    The house of the wicked will be overthrown, but the tent of the upright will flourish.     The house of the wicked shall be overthrown: but the tabernacle of the upright shall flourish.     בית  רשעים  ישמד 
ואהל  ישרים  יפריח׃
    BYTh UrSh'yYM YShMD V'aHL YShUrYM YPhUrYCh.     The house of the wicked is destroyed, And the tent of the upright flourisheth.     domus impiorum delebitur tabernacula iustorum germinabunt
 
12.    There is a way which seems right to a man, but in the end it leads to death.     There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.     יש  דרך  ישר 
לפני־איש  ואחריתה
דרכי־מות׃
    YSh DUrK YShUr LPhNY-'aYSh V'aChUrYThH DUrKY-MVTh.     There is a way -- right before a man, And its latter end are ways of death.     est via quae videtur homini iusta novissima autem eius deducunt ad mortem
 
13.    Even in laughter the heart may be sorrowful, and mirth may end in heaviness.     Even in laughter the heart is sorrowful; and the end of that mirth is heaviness.     גם־בשחוק  יכאב־לב 
ואחריתה  שמחה
תוגה׃
    GM-BShChVQ YK'aB-LB V'aChUrYThH ShMChH ThVGH.     Even in laughter is the heart pained, And the latter end of joy is affliction.     risus dolore miscebitur et extrema gaudii luctus occupat
 
14.    The unfaithful will be repaid for his own ways; likewise a good man will be rewarded for his ways.     The backslider in heart shall be filled with his own ways: and a good man shall be satisfied from himself.     מדרכיו  ישבע  סוג 
לב  ומעליו  איש
טוב׃
    MDUrKYV YShB'y SVG LB VM'yLYV 'aYSh TVB.     From his ways is the backslider in heart filled, And a good man -- from his fruits.     viis suis replebitur stultus et super eum erit vir bonus
 
15.    A simple man believes everything, but the prudent man carefully considers his ways.     The simple believeth every word: but the prudent man looketh well to his going.     פתי  יאמין  לכל־דבר 
וערום  יבין  לאשרו׃
    PhThY Y'aMYN LKL-DBUr V'yUrVM YBYN L'aShUrV.     The simple giveth credence to everything, And the prudent attendeth to his step.     innocens credit omni verbo astutus considerat gressus suos
 
16.    A wise man fears, and shuns evil, but the fool is hotheaded and reckless.     A wise man feareth, and departeth from evil: but the fool rageth, and is confident.     חכם  ירא  וסר  מרע 
וכסיל  מתעבר
ובוטח׃
    ChKM YUr'a VSUr MUr'y VKSYL MTh'yBUr VBVTCh.     The wise is fearing and turning from evil, And a fool is transgressing and is confident.     sapiens timet et declinat malum stultus transilit et confidit
 
17.    He who is quick to become angry will commit folly, and a crafty man is hated.     He that is soon angry dealeth foolishly: and a man of wicked devices is hated.     קצר־אפים  יעשה 
אולת  ואיש  מזמות
ישנא׃
    QTShUr-'aPhYM Y'yShH 'aVLTh V'aYSh MZMVTh YShN'a.     Whoso is short of temper doth folly, And a man of wicked devices is hated.     inpatiens operabitur stultitiam et vir versutus odiosus est
 
18.    The simple inherit folly, but the prudent are crowned with knowledge.     The simple inherit folly: but the prudent are crowned with knowledge.     נחלו  פתאים  אולת 
וערומים  יכתרו
דעת׃
    NChLV PhTh'aYM 'aVLTh V'yUrVMYM YKThUrV D'yTh.     The simple have inherited folly, And the prudent are crowned with knowledge.     possidebunt parvuli stultitiam et astuti expectabunt scientiam
 
19.    The evil bow down before the good, and the wicked at the gates of the righteous.     The evil bow before the good; and the wicked at the gates of the righteous.     שחו  רעים  לפני 
טובים  ורשעים
על־שערי  צדיק׃
    ShChV Ur'yYM LPhNY TVBYM VUrSh'yYM 'yL-Sh'yUrY TShDYQ.     The evil have bowed down before the good, And the wicked at the gates of the righteous.     iacebunt mali ante bonos et impii ante portas iustorum
 
20.    The poor person is shunned even by his own neighbor, but the rich person has many friends.     The poor is hated even of his own neighbour: but the rich hath many friends.     גם־לרעהו  ישנא  רש 
ואהבי  עשיר  רבים׃
    GM-LUr'yHV YShN'a UrSh V'aHBY 'yShYUr UrBYM.     Even of his neighbour is the poor hated, And those loving the rich are many.     etiam proximo suo pauper odiosus erit amici vero divitum multi
 
21.    He who despises his neighbor sins, but blessed is he who has pity on the poor.     He that despiseth his neighbour sinneth: but he that hath mercy on the poor, happy is he.     בז־לרעהו  חוטא 
ומחונן  עניים
אשריו׃
    BZ-LUr'yHV ChVT'a VMChVNN 'yNYYM 'aShUrYV.     Whoso is despising his neighbour sinneth, Whoso is favouring the humble, O his happiness.     qui despicit proximum suum peccat qui autem miseretur pauperi beatus erit
 
22.    Don't they go astray who plot evil? But love and faithfulness belong to those who plan good.     Do they not err that devise evil? but mercy and truth shall be to them that devise good.     הלוא־יתעו  חרשי  רע 
וחסד  ואמת  חרשי

    HLV'a-YTh'yV ChUrShY Ur'y VChSD V'aMTh ChUrShY TVB.     Do not they err who are devising evil? And kindness and truth are to those devising good,     errant qui operantur malum misericordia et veritas praeparant bona
 
23.    In all hard work there is profit, but the talk of the lips leads only to poverty.     In all labour there is profit: but the talk of the lips tendeth only to penury.     בכל־עצב  יהיה  מותר 
ודבר־שפתים
אך־למחסור׃
    BKL-'yTShB YHYH MVThUr VDBUr-ShPhThYM 'aK-LMChSVUr.     In all labour there is advantage, And a thing of the lips is only to want.     in omni opere erit abundantia ubi autem verba sunt plurima frequenter egestas
 
24.    The crown of the wise is their riches, but the folly of fools crowns them with folly.     The crown of the wise is their riches: but the foolishness of fools is folly.     עטרת  חכמים  עשרם

25.    A truthful witness saves souls, but a false witness is deceitful.     A true witness delivereth souls: but a deceitful witness speaketh lies.     מציל  נפשות  עד  אמת 
ויפח  כזבים  מרמה׃
    MTShYL NPhShVTh 'yD 'aMTh VYPhCh KZBYM MUrMH.     A true witness is delivering souls, And a deceitful one breatheth out lies.     liberat animas testis fidelis et profert mendacia versipellis
 
26.    In the fear of Yahweh is a secure fortress, and he will be a refuge for his children.     In the fear of the LORD is strong confidence: and his children shall have a place of refuge.     ביראת  יהוה 
מבטח־עז  ולבניו
יהיה  מחסה׃
    BYUr'aTh YHVH MBTCh-'yZ VLBNYV YHYH MChSH.     In the fear of Jehovah is strong confidence, And to His sons there is a refuge.     in timore Domini fiducia fortitudinis et filiis eius erit spes
 
27.    The fear of Yahweh is a fountain of life, turning people from the snares of death.     The fear of the LORD is a fountain of life, to depart from the snares of death.     יראת  יהוה  מקור 
חיים  לסור  ממקשי

    YUr'aTh YHVH MQVUr ChYYM LSVUr MMQShY MVTh.     The fear of Jehovah is a fountain of life, To turn aside from snares of death.     timor Domini fons vitae ut declinet a ruina mortis
 
28.    In the multitude of people is the king's glory, but in the lack of people is the destruction of the prince.     In the multitude of people is the king's honour: but in the want of people is the destruction of the prince.     ברב־עם  הדרת־מלך 
ובאפס  לאם  מחתת

    BUrB-'yM HDUrTh-MLK VB'aPhS L'aM MChThTh UrZVN.     In the multitude of a people is the honour of a king, And in lack of people the ruin of a prince.     in multitudine populi dignitas regis et in paucitate plebis ignominia principis
 
29.    He who is slow to anger has great understanding, but he who has a quick temper displays folly.     He that is slow to wrath is of great understanding: but he that is hasty of spirit exalteth folly.     ארך  אפים  רב־תבונה 
וקצר־רוח  מרים

30.    The life of the body is a heart at peace, but envy rots the bones.     A sound heart is the life of the flesh: but envy the rottenness of the bones.     חיי  בשרים  לב  מרפא

    ChYY BShUrYM LB MUrPh'a VUrQB 'yTShMVTh QN'aH.     A healed heart is life to the flesh, And rottenness to the bones is envy.     vita carnium sanitas cordis putredo ossuum invidia
 
31.    He who oppresses the poor shows contempt for his Maker, but he who is kind to the needy honors him.     He that oppresseth the poor reproacheth his Maker: but he that honoureth him hath mercy on the poor.     עשק־דל  חרף  עשהו 
ומכבדו  חנן  אביון׃
    'yShQ-DL ChUrPh 'yShHV VMKBDV ChNN 'aBYVN.     An oppressor of the poor reproacheth his Maker, And whoso is honouring Him Is favouring the needy.     qui calumniatur egentem exprobrat factori eius honorat autem eum qui miseretur pauperis
 
32.    The wicked is brought down in his calamity, but in death, the righteous has a refuge.     The wicked is driven away in his wickedness: but the righteous hath hope in his death.     ברעתו  ידחה  רשע 
וחסה  במותו  צדיק׃
    BUr'yThV YDChH UrSh'y VChSH BMVThV TShDYQ.     In his wickedness is the wicked driven away, And trustful in his death is the righteous.     in malitia sua expelletur impius sperat autem iustus in morte sua
 
33.    Wisdom rests in the heart of one who has understanding, and is even made known in the inward part of fools.     Wisdom resteth in the heart of him that hath understanding: but that which is in the midst of fools is made known.     בלב  נבון  תנוח 
חכמה  ובקרב  כסילים
תודע׃
    BLB NBVN ThNVCh ChKMH VBQUrB KSYLYM ThVD'y.     In the heart of the intelligent wisdom doth rest. And in the midst of fools it is known.     in corde prudentis requiescit sapientia et indoctos quoque erudiet
 
34.    Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a disgrace to any people.     Righteousness exalteth a nation: but sin is a reproach to any people.     צדקה  תרומם־גוי 
וחסד  לאמים  חטאת׃
    TShDQH ThUrVMM-GVY VChSD L'aMYM ChT'aTh.     Righteousness exalteth a nation, And the goodliness of peoples is a sin-offering.     iustitia elevat gentem miseros facit populos peccatum
 
35.    The king's favor is toward a servant who deals wisely, but his wrath is toward one who causes shame.     The king's favour is toward a wise servant: but his wrath is against him that causeth shame.     רצון־מלך  לעבד 
משכיל  ועברתו  תהיה
מביש׃
    UrTShVN-MLK L'yBD MShKYL V'yBUrThV ThHYH MBYSh.     The favour of a king is to a wise servant, And an object of his wrath is one causing shame!     acceptus est regi minister intellegens iracundiam eius inutilis sustinebit
