1.    Better is the poor who walks in his integrity than he who is perverse in his lips and is a fool.     Better is the poor that walketh in his integrity, than he that is perverse in his lips, and is a fool.     טוב־רש  הולך  בתמו

2.    It isn't good to have zeal without knowledge; nor being hasty with one's feet and missing the way.     Also, that the soul be without knowledge, it is not good; and he that hasteth with his feet sinneth.     גם  בלא־דעת  נפש 
לא־טוב  ואץ  ברגלים
חוטא׃
    GM BL'a-D'yTh NPhSh L'a-TVB V'aTSh BUrGLYM ChVT'a.     Also, without knowledge the soul is not good, And the hasty in feet is sinning.     ubi non est scientia animae non est bonum et qui festinus est pedibus offendit
 
3.    The foolishness of man subverts his way; his heart rages against Yahweh.     The foolishness of man perverteth his way: and his heart fretteth against the LORD.     אולת  אדם  תסלף 
דרכו  ועל־יהוה
יזעף  לבו׃
    'aVLTh 'aDM ThSLPh DUrKV V'yL-YHVH YZ'yPh LBV.     The folly of man perverteth his way, And against Jehovah is his heart wroth.     stultitia hominis subplantat gressus eius et contra Deum fervet animo suo
 
4.    Wealth adds many friends, but the poor is separated from his friend.     Wealth maketh many friends; but the poor is separated from his neighbour.     הון  יסיף  רעים 
רבים  ודל  מרעהו
יפרד׃
    HVN YSYPh Ur'yYM UrBYM VDL MUr'yHV YPhUrD.     Wealth addeth many friends, And the poor from his neighbour is separated.     divitiae addunt amicos plurimos a paupere autem et hii quos habuit separantur
 
5.    A false witness shall not be unpunished. He who pours out lies shall not go free.     A false witness shall not be unpunished, and he that speaketh lies shall not escape.     עד  שקרים  לא  ינקה 
ויפיח  כזבים  לא

    'yD ShQUrYM L'a YNQH VYPhYCh KZBYM L'a YMLT.     A false witness is not acquitted, Whoso breatheth out lies is not delivered.     testis falsus non erit inpunitus et qui mendacia loquitur non effugiet
 
6.    Many will entreat the favor of a ruler, and everyone is a friend to a man who gives gifts.     Many will intreat the favour of the prince: and every man is a friend to him that giveth gifts.     רבים  יחלו 
פני־נדיב  וכל־הרע
לאיש  מתן׃
    UrBYM YChLV PhNY-NDYB VKL-HUr'y L'aYSh MThN.     Many entreat the face of the noble, And all have made friendship to a man of gifts.     multi colunt personam potentis et amici sunt dona tribuenti
 
7.    All the relatives of the poor shun him: how much more do his friends avoid him! He pursues them with pleas, but they are gone.     All the brethren of the poor do hate him: how much more do his friends go far from him? he pursueth them with words, yet they are wanting to him.     כל  אחי־רש  שנאהו 
אף  כי  מרעהו  רחקו
ממנו  מרדף  אמרים
לא־המה׃
    KL 'aChY-UrSh ShN'aHV 'aPh KY MUr'yHV UrChQV MMNV MUrDPh 'aMUrYM L'a-HMH.     All the brethren of the poor have hated him, Surely also his friends have been far from him, He is pursuing words -- they are not!     fratres hominis pauperis oderunt eum insuper et amici procul recesserunt ab eo qui tantum verba sectatur nihil habebit
 
8.    He who gets wisdom loves his own soul. He who keeps understanding shall find good.     He that getteth wisdom loveth his own soul: he that keepeth understanding shall find good.     קנה־לב  אהב  נפשו

למצא־טוב׃
    QNH-LB 'aHB NPhShV ShMUr ThBVNH LMTSh'a-TVB.     Whoso is getting heart is loving his soul, He is keeping understanding to find good.     qui autem possessor est mentis diligit animam suam et custos prudentiae inveniet bona
 
9.    A false witness shall not be unpunished. He who utters lies shall perish.     A false witness shall not be unpunished, and he that speaketh lies shall perish.     עד  שקרים  לא  ינקה 
ויפיח  כזבים  יאבד׃

10.    Delicate living is not appropriate for a fool, much less for a servant to have rule over princes.     Delight is not seemly for a fool; much less for a servant to have rule over princes.     לא־נאוה  לכסיל 
תענוג  אף  כי־לעבד
משל  בשרים׃
    L'a-N'aVH LKSYL Th'yNVG 'aPh KY-L'yBD MShL BShUrYM.     Luxury is not comely for a fool, Much less for a servant to rule among princes.     non decent stultum deliciae nec servum dominari principibus
 
11.    The discretion of a man makes him slow to anger. It is his glory to overlook an offense.     The discretion of a man deferreth his anger; and it is his glory to pass over a transgression.     שכל  אדם  האריך  אפו 
ותפארתו  עבר
על־פשע׃
    ShKL 'aDM H'aUrYK 'aPhV VThPh'aUrThV 'yBUr 'yL-PhSh'y.     The wisdom of a man hath deferred his anger, And his glory is to pass over transgression.     doctrina viri per patientiam noscitur et gloria eius est iniqua praetergredi
 
12.    The king's wrath is like the roaring of a lion, but his favor is like dew on the grass.     The king's wrath is as the roaring of a lion; but his favour is as dew upon the grass.     נהם  ככפיר  זעף  מלך 
וכטל  על־עשב
רצונו׃
    NHM KKPhYUr Z'yPh MLK VKTL 'yL-'yShB UrTShVNV.     The wrath of a king is a growl as of a young lion, And as dew on the herb his good-will.     sicut fremitus leonis ita et regis ira et sicut ros super herbam ita hilaritas eius
 
13.    A foolish son is the calamity of his father. A wife's quarrels are a continual dripping.     A foolish son is the calamity of his father: and the contentions of a wife are a continual dropping.     הות  לאביו  בן  כסיל

14.    House and riches are an inheritance from fathers, but a prudent wife is from Yahweh.     House and riches are the inheritance of fathers: and a prudent wife is from the LORD.     בית  והון  נחלת 
אבות  ומיהוה  אשה
משכלת׃
    BYTh VHVN NChLTh 'aBVTh VMYHVH 'aShH MShKLTh.     House and wealth are the inheritance of fathers, And from Jehovah is an understanding wife.     domus et divitiae dantur a patribus a Domino autem proprie uxor prudens
 
15.    Slothfulness casts into a deep sleep. The idle soul shall suffer hunger.     Slothfulness casteth into a deep sleep; and an idle soul shall suffer hunger.     עצלה  תפיל  תרדמה 
ונפש  רמיה  תרעב׃
    'yTShLH ThPhYL ThUrDMH VNPhSh UrMYH ThUr'yB.     Sloth causeth deep sleep to fall, And an indolent soul doth hunger.     pigredo inmittit soporem et anima dissoluta esuriet
 
16.    He who keeps the commandment keeps his soul, but he who is contemptuous in his ways shall die.     He that keepeth the commandment keepeth his own soul; but he that despiseth his ways shall die.     שמר  מצוה  שמר  נפשו 
בוזה  דרכיו  יומת׃
    ShMUr MTShVH ShMUr NPhShV BVZH DUrKYV YVMTh.     Whoso is keeping the command is keeping his soul, Whoso is despising His ways dieth.     qui custodit mandatum custodit animam suam qui autem neglegit vias suas mortificabitur
 
17.    He who has pity on the poor lends to Yahweh; he will reward him.     He that hath pity upon the poor lendeth unto the LORD; and that which he hath given will he pay him again.     מלוה  יהוה  חונן  דל 
וגמלו  ישלם־לו׃
    MLVH YHVH ChVNN DL VGMLV YShLM-LV.     Whoso is lending to Jehovah is favouring the poor, And his deed He repayeth to him.     feneratur Domino qui miseretur pauperis et vicissitudinem suam reddet ei
 
18.    Discipline your son, for there is hope; don't be a willing party to his death.     Chasten thy son while there is hope, and let not thy soul spare for his crying.     יסר  בנך  כי־יש 
תקוה  ואל־המיתו
אל־תשא  נפשך׃
    YSUr BNK KY-YSh ThQVH V'aL-HMYThV 'aL-ThSh'a NPhShK.     Chastise thy son, for there is hope, And to put him to death lift not up thy soul.     erudi filium tuum ne desperes ad interfectionem autem eius ne ponas animam tuam
 
19.    A hot-tempered man must pay the penalty, for if you rescue him, you must do it again.     A man of great wrath shall suffer punishment: for if thou deliver him, yet thou must do it again.     גרל־חמה  נשא  ענש 
כי  אם־תציל  ועוד
תוסף׃
    GUrL-ChMH NSh'a 'yNSh KY 'aM-ThTShYL V'yVD ThVSPh.     A man of great wrath is bearing punishment, For, if thou dost deliver, yet again thou dost add.     qui inpatiens est sustinebit damnum et cum rapuerit aliud adponet
 
20.    Listen to counsel and receive instruction, that you may be wise in your latter end.     Hear counsel, and receive instruction, that thou mayest be wise in thy latter end.     שמע  עצה  וקבל  מוסר 
למען  תחכם
באחריתך׃
    ShM'y 'yTShH VQBL MVSUr LM'yN ThChKM B'aChUrYThK.     Hear counsel and receive instruction, So that thou art wise in thy latter end.     audi consilium et suscipe disciplinam ut sis sapiens in novissimis tuis
 
21.    There are many plans in a man's heart, but Yahweh's counsel will prevail.     There are many devices in a man's heart; nevertheless the counsel of the LORD, that shall stand.     רבות  מחשבות

היא  תקום׃
    UrBVTh MChShBVTh BLB-'aYSh V'yTShTh YHVH HY'a ThQVM.     Many are the purposes in a man`s heart, And the counsel of Jehovah it standeth.     multae cogitationes in corde viri voluntas autem Domini permanebit
 
22.    That which makes a man to be desired is his kindness. A poor man is better than a liar.     The desire of a man is his kindness: and a poor man is better than a liar.     תאות  אדם  חסדו 
וטוב־רש  מאיש  כזב׃
    Th'aVTh 'aDM ChSDV VTVB-UrSh M'aYSh KZB.     The desirableness of a man is his kindness, And better is the poor than a liar.     homo indigens misericors est et melior pauper quam vir mendax
 
23.    The fear of Yahweh leads to life, then contentment; he rests and will not be touched by trouble.     The fear of the LORD tendeth to life: and he that hath it shall abide satisfied; he shall not be visited with evil.     יראת  יהוה  לחיים 
ושבע  ילין  בל־יפקד
רע׃
    YUr'aTh YHVH LChYYM VShB'y YLYN BL-YPhQD Ur'y.     The fear of Jehovah is to life, And satisfied he remaineth -- he is not charged with evil.     timor Domini ad vitam et in plenitudine commorabitur absque visitatione pessimi
 
24.    The sluggard buries his hand in the dish; he will not so much as bring it to his mouth again.     A slothful man hideth his hand in his bosom, and will not so much as bring it to his mouth again.     טמן  עצל  ידו  בצלחת 
גם־אל־פיהו  לא
ישיבנה׃
    TMN 'yTShL YDV BTShLChTh GM-'aL-PhYHV L'a YShYBNH.     The slothful hath hidden his hand in a dish, Even unto his mouth he bringeth it not back.     abscondit piger manum suam sub ascella nec ad os suum adplicat eam
 
25.    Flog a scoffer, and the simple will learn prudence; rebuke one who has understanding, and he will gain knowledge.     Smite a scorner, and the simple will beware: and reprove one that hath understanding, and he will understand knowledge.     לץ  תכה  ופתי  יערם 
והוכיח  לנבון  יבין
דעת׃
    LTSh ThKH VPhThY Y'yUrM VHVKYCh LNBVN YBYN D'yTh.     A scorner smite, and the simple acts prudently, And give reproof to the intelligent, He understandeth knowledge.     pestilente flagellato stultus sapientior erit sin autem corripueris sapientem intelleget disciplinam
 
26.    He who robs his father and drives away his mother, is a son who causes shame and brings reproach.     He that wasteth his father, and chaseth away his mother, is a son that causeth shame, and bringeth reproach.     משדד־אב  יבריח  אם 
בן  מביש  ומחפיר׃
    MShDD-'aB YBUrYCh 'aM BN MBYSh VMChPhYUr.     Whoso is spoiling a father causeth a mother to flee, A son causing shame, and bringing confusion.     qui adfligit patrem et fugat matrem ignominiosus est et infelix
 
27.    If you stop listening to instruction, my son, you will stray from the words of knowledge.     Cease, my son, to hear the instruction that causeth to err from the words of knowledge.     חדל־בני  לשמע  מוסר

    ChDL-BNY LShM'y MVSUr LShGVTh M'aMUrY-D'yTh.     Cease, my son, to hear instruction -- To err from sayings of knowledge.     non cesses fili audire doctrinam nec ignores sermones scientiae
 
28.    A corrupt witness mocks justice, and the mouth of the wicked gulps down iniquity.     An ungodly witness scorneth judgment: and the mouth of the wicked devoureth iniquity.     עד  בליעל  יליץ
