1.    My son, don't forget my teaching; but let your heart keep my commandments:     My son, forget not my law; but let thine heart keep my commandments:     בני  תורתי  אל־תשכח 
ומצותי  יצר  לבך׃

2.    for length of days, and years of life, and peace, will they add to you.     For length of days, and long life, and peace, shall they add to thee.     כי  ארך  ימים  ושנות 
חיים  ושלום  יוסיפו
לך׃
    KY 'aUrK YMYM VShNVTh ChYYM VShLVM YVSYPhV LK.     For length of days and years, Life and peace they do add to thee.     longitudinem enim dierum et annos vitae et pacem adponent tibi
 
3.    Don't let kindness and truth forsake you. Bind them around your neck. Write them on the tablet of your heart.     Let not mercy and truth forsake thee: bind them about thy neck; write them upon the table of thine heart:     חסד  ואמת  אל־יעזבך 
קשרם  על־גרגרותיך
כתבם  על־לוח  לבך׃
    ChSD V'aMTh 'aL-Y'yZBK QShUrM 'yL-GUrGUrVThYK KThBM 'yL-LVCh LBK.     Let not kindness and truth forsake thee, Bind them on thy neck, Write them on the tablet of thy heart,     misericordia et veritas non te deserant circumda eas gutturi tuo et describe in tabulis cordis tui
 
4.    So you will find favor, and good understanding in the sight of God and man.     So shalt thou find favour and good understanding in the sight of God and man.     ומצא־חן  ושכל־טוב 
בעיני  אלהים  ואדם׃
    VMTSh'a-ChN VShKL-TVB B'yYNY 'aLHYM V'aDM.     And find grace and good understanding In the eyes of God and man.     et invenies gratiam et disciplinam bonam coram Deo et hominibus
 
5.    Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don't lean on your own understanding.     Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.     בטח  אל־יהוה 
בכל־לבך  ואל־בינתך
אל־תשען׃
    BTCh 'aL-YHVH BKL-LBK V'aL-BYNThK 'aL-ThSh'yN.     Trust unto Jehovah with all thy heart, And unto thine own understanding lean not.     habe fiduciam in Domino ex toto corde tuo et ne innitaris prudentiae tuae
 
6.    In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.     In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.     בכל־דרכיך  דעהו 
והוא  יישר  ארחתיך׃
    BKL-DUrKYK D'yHV VHV'a YYShUr 'aUrChThYK.     In all thy ways know thou Him, And He doth make straight thy paths.     in omnibus viis tuis cogita illum et ipse diriget gressus tuos
 
7.    Don't be wise in your own eyes. Fear Yahweh, and depart from evil.     Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the LORD, and depart from evil.     אל־תהי  חכם  בעיניך 
ירא  את־יהוה  וסור
מרע׃
    'aL-ThHY ChKM B'yYNYK YUr'a 'aTh-YHVH VSVUr MUr'y.     Be not wise in thine own eyes, Fear Jehovah, and turn aside from evil.     ne sis sapiens apud temet ipsum time Dominum et recede a malo
 
8.    It will be health to your body, and nourishment to your bones.     It shall be health to thy navel, and marrow to thy bones.     רפאות  תהי  לשרך 
ושקוי  לעצמותיך׃
    UrPh'aVTh ThHY LShUrK VShQVY L'yTShMVThYK.     Healing it is to thy navel, And moistening to thy bones.     sanitas quippe erit umbilico tuo et inrigatio ossuum tuorum
 
9.    Honor Yahweh with your substance, with the first fruits of all your increase:     Honour the LORD with thy substance, and with the firstfruits of all thine increase:     כבד  את־יהוה  מהונך 
ומראשית
כל־תבואתך׃
    KBD 'aTh-YHVH MHVNK VMUr'aShYTh KL-ThBV'aThK.     Honour Jehovah from thy substance, And from the beginning of all thine increase;     honora Dominum de tua substantia et de primitiis omnium frugum tuarum
 
10.    so your barns will be filled with plenty, and your vats will overflow with new wine.     So shall thy barns be filled with plenty, and thy presses shall burst out with new wine.     וימלאו  אסמיך  שבע 
ותירוש  יקביך
יפרצו׃
    VYML'aV 'aSMYK ShB'y VThYUrVSh YQBYK YPhUrTShV.     And filled are thy barns with plenty, And with new wine thy presses break forth.     et implebuntur horrea tua saturitate et vino torcularia redundabunt
 
11.    My son, don't despise Yahweh's discipline, neither be weary of his reproof:     My son, despise not the chastening of the LORD; neither be weary of his correction:     מוסר  יהוה  בני 
אל־תמאס  ואל־תקץ
בתוכחתו׃
    MVSUr YHVH BNY 'aL-ThM'aS V'aL-ThQTSh BThVKChThV.     Chastisement of Jehovah, my son, despise not, And be not vexed with His reproof,     disciplinam Domini fili mi ne abicias nec deficias cum ab eo corriperis
 
12.    for whom Yahweh loves, he reproves; even as a father reproves the son in whom he delights.     For whom the LORD loveth he correcteth; even as a father the son in whom he delighteth.     כי  את  אשר  יאהב 
יהוה  יוכיח  וכאב
את־בן  ירצה׃
    KY 'aTh 'aShUr Y'aHB YHVH YVKYCh VK'aB 'aTh-BN YUrTShH.     For whom Jehovah loveth He reproveth, Even as a father the son He is pleased with.     quem enim diligit Dominus corripit et quasi pater in filio conplacet sibi
 
13.    Happy is the man who finds wisdom, the man who gets understanding.     Happy is the man that findeth wisdom, and the man that getteth understanding.     אשרי  אדם  מצא  חכמה 
ואדם  יפיק  תבונה׃
    'aShUrY 'aDM MTSh'a ChKMH V'aDM YPhYQ ThBVNH.     O the happiness of a man who hath found wisdom, And of a man who bringeth forth understanding.     beatus homo qui invenit sapientiam et qui affluit prudentia
 
14.    For her good profit is better than getting silver, and her return is better than fine gold.     For the merchandise of it is better than the merchandise of silver, and the gain thereof than fine gold.     כי  טוב  סחרה 
מסחר־כסף  ומחרוץ
תבואתה׃
    KY TVB SChUrH MSChUr-KSPh VMChUrVTSh ThBV'aThH.     For better is her merchandise Than the merchandise of silver, And than gold -- her increase.     melior est adquisitio eius negotiatione argenti et auro primo fructus eius
 
15.    She is more precious than rubies. None of the things you can desire are to be compared to her.     She is more precious than rubies: and all the things thou canst desire are not to be compared unto her.     יקרה  היא  מפניים 
וכל־חפציך  לא
ישוו־בה׃
    YQUrH HY'a MPhNYYM VKL-ChPhTShYK L'a YShVV-BH.     Precious she is above rubies, And all thy pleasures are not comparable to her.     pretiosior est cunctis opibus et omnia quae desiderantur huic non valent conparari
 
16.    Length of days is in her right hand. In her left hand are riches and honor.     Length of days is in her right hand; and in her left hand riches and honour.     ארך  ימים  בימינה 
בשמאולה  עשר
וכבוד׃
    'aUrK YMYM BYMYNH BShM'aVLH 'yShUr VKBVD.     Length of days is in her right hand, In her left are wealth and honour.     longitudo dierum in dextera eius in sinistra illius divitiae et gloria
 
17.    Her ways are ways of pleasantness. All her paths are peace.     Her ways are ways of pleasantness, and all her paths are peace.     דרכיה  דרכי־נעם 
וכל־נתיבותיה
שלום׃
    DUrKYH DUrKY-N'yM VKL-NThYBVThYH ShLVM.     Her ways are ways of pleasantness, And all her paths are peace.     viae eius viae pulchrae et omnes semitae illius pacificae
 
18.    She is a tree of life to those who lay hold of her. Happy is everyone who retains her.     She is a tree of life to them that lay hold upon her: and happy is every one that retaineth her.     עץ־חיים  היא 
למחזיקים  בה
ותמכיה  מאשר׃
    'yTSh-ChYYM HY'a LMChZYQYM BH VThMKYH M'aShUr.     A tree of life she is to those laying hold on her, And whoso is retaining her is happy.     lignum vitae est his qui adprehenderint eam et qui tenuerit eam beatus
 
19.    By wisdom Yahweh founded the earth. By understanding, he established the heavens.     The LORD by wisdom hath founded the earth; by understanding hath he established the heavens.     יהוה  בחכמה 
יסד־ארץ  כונן  שמים
בתבונה׃
    YHVH BChKMH YSD-'aUrTSh KVNN ShMYM BThBVNH.     Jehovah by wisdom did found the earth, He prepared the heavens by understanding.     Dominus sapientia fundavit terram stabilivit caelos prudentia
 
20.    By his knowledge, the depths were broken up, and the skies drop down the dew.     By his knowledge the depths are broken up, and the clouds drop down the dew.     בדעתו  תהומות 
נבקעו  ושחקים
ירעפו־טל׃
    BD'yThV ThHVMVTh NBQ'yV VShChQYM YUr'yPhV-TL.     By His knowledge depths have been rent, And clouds do drop dew.     sapientia illius eruperunt abyssi et nubes rore concrescunt
 
21.    My son, let them not depart from your eyes. Keep sound wisdom and discretion:     My son, let not them depart from thine eyes: keep sound wisdom and discretion:     בני  אל־ילזו 
מעיניך  נצר  תשיה
ומזמה׃
    BNY 'aL-YLZV M'yYNYK NTShUr ThShYH VMZMH.     My son! let them not turn from thine eyes, Keep thou wisdom and thoughtfulness,     fili mi ne effluant haec ab oculis tuis custodi legem atque consilium
 
22.    so they will be life to your soul, and grace for your neck.     So shall they be life unto thy soul, and grace to thy neck.     ויהיו  חיים  לנפשך 
וחן  לגרגרתיך׃
    VYHYV ChYYM LNPhShK VChN LGUrGUrThYK.     And they are life to thy soul, and grace to thy neck.     et erit vita animae tuae et gratia faucibus tuis
 
23.    Then you shall walk in your way securely. Your foot won't stumble.     Then shalt thou walk in thy way safely, and thy foot shall not stumble.     אז  תלך  לבטח  דרכך 
ורגלך  לא  תגוף׃
    'aZ ThLK LBTCh DUrKK VUrGLK L'a ThGVPh.     Then thou goest thy way confidently, And thy foot doth not stumble.     tunc ambulabis fiducialiter in via tua et pes tuus non inpinget
 
24.    When you lie down, you will not be afraid. Yes, you will lie down, and your sleep will be sweet.     When thou liest down, thou shalt not be afraid: yea, thou shalt lie down, and thy sleep shall be sweet.     אם־תשכב  לא־תפחד 
ושכבת  וערבה  שנתך׃
    'aM-ThShKB L'a-ThPhChD VShKBTh V'yUrBH ShNThK.     If thou liest down, thou art not afraid, Yea, thou hast lain down, And sweet hath been thy sleep.     si dormieris non timebis quiesces et suavis erit somnus tuus
 
25.    Don't be afraid of sudden fear, neither of the desolation of the wicked, when it comes:     Be not afraid of sudden fear, neither of the desolation of the wicked, when it cometh.     אל־תירא  מפחד  פתאם 
ומשאת  רשעים  כי
תבא׃
    'aL-ThYUr'a MPhChD PhTh'aM VMSh'aTh UrSh'yYM KY ThB'a.     Be not afraid of sudden fear, And of the desolation of the wicked when it cometh.     ne paveas repentino terrore et inruentes tibi potentias impiorum
 
26.    for Yahweh will be your confidence, and will keep your foot from being taken.     For the LORD shall be thy confidence, and shall keep thy foot from being taken.     כי־יהוה  יהיה 
בכסלך  ושמר  רגלך
מלכד׃
    KY-YHVH YHYH BKSLK VShMUr UrGLK MLKD.     For Jehovah is at thy side, And He hath kept thy foot from capture.     Dominus enim erit in latere tuo et custodiet pedem tuum ne capiaris
 
27.    Don't withhold good from those to whom it is due, when it is in the power of your hand to do it.     Withhold not good from them to whom it is due, when it is in the power of thine hand to do it.     אל־תמנע־טוב 
מבעליו  בהיות  לאל
ידיך  לעשות׃
    'aL-ThMN'y-TVB MB'yLYV BHYVTh L'aL YDYK L'yShVTh.     Withhold not good from its owners, When thy hand is toward God to do it.     noli prohibere benefacere eum qui potest si vales et ipse benefac
 
28.    Don't say to your neighbor, "Go, and come again; tomorrow I will give it to you," when you have it by you.     Say not unto thy neighbour, Go, and come again, and to morrow I will give; when thou hast it by thee.     אל־תאמר  לרעיך  לך 
ושוב  ומחר  אתן  ויש
אתך׃
    'aL-Th'aMUr LUr'yYK LK VShVB VMChUr 'aThN VYSh 'aThK.     Say not thou to thy friend, `Go, and return, and to-morrow I give,` And substance with thee.     ne dicas amico tuo vade et revertere et cras dabo tibi cum statim possis dare
 
29.    Don't devise evil against your neighbor, seeing he dwells securely by you.     Devise not evil against thy neighbour, seeing he dwelleth securely by thee.     אל־תחרש  על־רעך 
רעה  והוא־יושב
לבטח  אתך׃
    'aL-ThChUrSh 'yL-Ur'yK Ur'yH VHV'a-YVShB LBTCh 'aThK.     Devise not against thy neighbour evil, And he sitting confidently with thee.     ne moliaris amico tuo malum cum ille in te habeat fiduciam
 
30.    Don't strive with a man without cause, if he has done you no harm.     Strive not with a man without cause, if he have done thee no harm.     אל־תרוב  עם־אדם 
חנם  אם־לא  גמלך
רעה׃
    'aL-ThUrVB 'yM-'aDM ChNM 'aM-L'a GMLK Ur'yH.     Strive not with a man without cause, If he have not done thee evil.     ne contendas adversus hominem frustra cum ipse tibi nihil mali fecerit
 
31.    Don't envy the man of violence. Choose none of his ways.     Envy thou not the oppressor, and choose none of his ways.     אל־תקנא  באיש  חמס 
ואל־תבחר
בכל־דרכיו׃
    'aL-ThQN'a B'aYSh ChMS V'aL-ThBChUr BKL-DUrKYV.     Be not envious of a man of violence, Nor fix thou on any of his ways.     ne aemuleris hominem iniustum nec imiteris vias eius
 
32.    For the perverse is an abomination to Yahweh, but his friendship is with the upright.     For the froward is abomination to the LORD: but his secret is with the righteous.     כי  תועבת  יהוה 
נלוז  ואת־ישרים
סודו׃
    KY ThV'yBTh YHVH NLVZ V'aTh-YShUrYM SVDV.     For an abomination to Jehovah is the perverted, And with the upright is His secret counsel.     quia abominatio Domini est omnis inlusor et cum simplicibus sermocinatio eius
 
33.    Yahweh's curse is in the house of the wicked, but he blesses the habitation of the righteous.     The curse of the LORD is in the house of the wicked: but he blesseth the habitation of the just.     מארת  יהוה  בבית 
רשע  ונוה  צדיקים
יברך׃
    M'aUrTh YHVH BBYTh UrSh'y VNVH TShDYQYM YBUrK.     The curse of Jehovah is in the house of the wicked. And the habitation of the righteous He blesseth.     egestas a Domino in domo impii habitacula autem iustorum benedicentur
 
34.    Surely he mocks the mockers, but he gives grace to the humble.     Surely he scorneth the scorners: but he giveth grace unto the lowly.     אם־ללצים  הוא־יליץ 
ולעניים  יתן־חן׃
    'aM-LLTShYM HV'a-YLYTSh VL'yNYYM YThN-ChN.     If the scorners He doth scorn, Yet to the humble He doth give grace.     inlusores ipse deludet et mansuetis dabit gratiam
 
35.    The wise will inherit glory, but shame will be the promotion of fools.     The wise shall inherit glory: but shame shall be the promotion of fools.     כבוד  חכמים  ינחלו 
וכסילים  מרים
קלון׃
    KBVD ChKMYM YNChLV VKSYLYM MUrYM QLVN.     Honour do the wise inherit, And fools are bearing away shame!     gloriam sapientes possidebunt stultorum exaltatio ignominia
