2.    Keep my commandments and live! Guard my teaching as the apple of your eye.     Keep my commandments, and live; and my law as the apple of thine eye.     שמר  מצותי  וחיה

3.    Bind them on your fingers. Write them on the tablet of your heart.     Bind them upon thy fingers, write them upon the table of thine heart.     קשרם  על־אצבעתיך

4.    Tell wisdom, "You are my sister." Call understanding your relative,     Say unto wisdom, Thou art my sister; and call understanding thy kinswoman:     אמר  לחכמה  אחתי  את

    'aMUr LChKMH 'aChThY 'aTh VMD'y LBYNH ThQUr'a.     Say to wisdom, `My sister Thou art.` And cry to understanding, `Kinswoman!`     dic sapientiae soror mea es et prudentiam voca amicam tuam
 
5.    that they may keep you from the strange woman, from the foreigner who flatters with her words.     That they may keep thee from the strange woman, from the stranger which flattereth with her words.     לשמרך  מאשה  זרה

ואפלה׃

11.    She is loud and defiant. Her feet don't stay in her house.     (She is loud and stubborn; her feet abide not in her house:     המיה  היא  וסררת

    HMYH HY'a VSUrUrTh BBYThH L'a-YShKNV UrGLYH.     Noisy she is, and stubborn, In her house her feet rest not.     quietis inpatiens nec valens in domo consistere pedibus suis
 
12.    Now she is in the streets, now in the squares, and lurking at every corner.     Now is she without, now in the streets, and lieth in wait at every corner.)     פעם  בחוץ  פעם 
ברחבות  ואצל
כל־פנה  תארב׃

ונשקה־לו  העזה

14.    "Sacrifices of peace offerings are with me. This day I have paid my vows.     I have peace offerings with me; this day have I payed my vows.     זבחי  שלמים  עלי 
היום  שלמתי  נדרי׃
    ZBChY ShLMYM 'yLY HYVM ShLMThY NDUrY.     `Sacrifices of peace-offerings are by me, To-day I have completed my vows.     victimas pro salute debui hodie reddidi vota mea
 
15.    Therefore I came out to meet you, to diligently seek your face, and I have found you.     Therefore came I forth to meet thee, diligently to seek thy face, and I have found thee.     על־כן  יצאתי 
לקראתך  לשחר  פניך
ואמצאך׃
    'yL-KN YTSh'aThY LQUr'aThK LShChUr PhNYK V'aMTSh'aK.     Therefore I have come forth to meet thee, To seek earnestly thy face, and I find thee.     idcirco egressa sum in occursum tuum desiderans te videre et repperi
 
16.    I have spread my couch with carpets of tapestry, with striped cloths of the yarn of Egypt.     I have decked my bed with coverings of tapestry, with carved works, with fine linen of Egypt.     מרבדים  רבדתי  ערשי

באהבים׃

20.    He has taken a bag of money with him. He will come home at the full moon."     He hath taken a bag of money with him, and will come home at the day appointed.     צרור־הכסף  לקח 
בידו  ליום  הכסא
יבא  ביתו׃
    TShUrVUr-HKSPh LQCh BYDV LYVM HKS'a YB'a BYThV.     A bag of money he hath taken in his hand, At the day of the new moon he cometh to his house.`     sacculum pecuniae secum tulit in die plenae lunae reversurus est domum suam
 
21.    With persuasive words, she led him astray. With the flattering of her lips, she seduced him.     With her much fair speech she caused him to yield, with the flattering of her lips she forced him.     הטתו  ברב  לקחה

22.    He followed her immediately, as an ox goes to the slaughter, as a fool stepping into a noose.     He goeth after her straightway, as an ox goeth to the slaughter, or as a fool to the correction of the stocks;     הולך  אחריה  פתאם

    HVLK 'aChUrYH PhTh'aM KShVUr 'aL-TBCh YBV'a VK'yKS 'aL-MVSUr 'aVYL.     He is going after her straightway, As an ox unto the slaughter he cometh, And as a fetter unto the chastisement of a fool,     statim eam sequitur quasi bos ductus ad victimam et quasi agnus lasciviens et ignorans quod ad vincula stultus trahatur
 
23.    Until an arrow strikes through his liver, as a bird hurries to the snare, and doesn't know that it will cost his life.     Till a dart strike through his liver; as a bird hasteth to the snare, and knoweth not that it is for his life.     עד  יפלח  חץ  כבדו 
כמהר  צפור  אל־פח
ולא־ידע  כי־בנפשו
הוא׃

24.    Now therefore, sons, listen to me. Pay attention to the words of my mouth.     Hearken unto me now therefore, O ye children, and attend to the words of my mouth.     ועתה  בנים  שמעו־לי 
והקשיבו  לאמרי־פי׃
    V'yThH BNYM ShM'yV-LY VHQShYBV L'aMUrY-PhY.     And now, ye sons, hearken to me, And give attention to sayings of my mouth.     nunc ergo fili audi me et adtende verba oris mei
 
25.    Don't let your heart turn to her ways. Don't go astray in her paths,     Let not thine heart decline to her ways, go not astray in her paths.     אל־ישט  אל־דרכיה 
לבך  אל־תתע
בנתיבותיה׃
    'aL-YShT 'aL-DUrKYH LBK 'aL-ThTh'y BNThYBVThYH.     Let not thy heart turn unto her ways, Do not wander in her paths,     ne abstrahatur in viis illius mens tua neque decipiaris semitis eius
 
26.    for she has thrown down many wounded. Yes, all her slain are a mighty army.     For she hath cast down many wounded: yea, many strong men have been slain by her.     כי־רבים  חללים

כל־הרגיה׃
