1.    Doesn't wisdom cry out? Doesn't understanding raise her voice?     Doth not wisdom cry? and understanding put forth her voice?     הלא־חכמה  תקרא 
ותבונה  תתן  קולה׃
    HL'a-ChKMH ThQUr'a VThBVNH ThThN QVLH.     Doth not wisdom call? And understanding give forth her voice?     numquid non sapientia clamitat et prudentia dat vocem suam
 
2.    On the top of high places by the way, where the paths meet, she stands.     She standeth in the top of high places, by the way in the places of the paths.     בראש־מרומים 
עלי־דרך  בית
נתיבות  נצבה׃
    BUr'aSh-MUrVMYM 'yLY-DUrK BYTh NThYBVTh NTShBH.     At the head of high places by the way, Between the paths she hath stood,     in summis excelsisque verticibus super viam in mediis semitis stans
 
3.    Beside the gates, at the entry of the city, at the entry doors, she cries aloud:     She crieth at the gates, at the entry of the city, at the coming in at the doors.     ליד־שערים  לפי־קרת 
מבוא  פתחים  תרנה׃
    LYD-Sh'yUrYM LPhY-QUrTh MBV'a PhThChYM ThUrNH.     At the side of the gates, at the mouth of the city, The entrance of the openings, she crieth aloud,     iuxta portas civitatis in ipsis foribus loquitur dicens
 
4.    "To you men, I call! I send my voice to the sons of mankind.     Unto you, O men, I call; and my voice is to the sons of man.     אליכם  אישים  אקרא 
וקולי  אל־בני  אדם׃
    'aLYKM 'aYShYM 'aQUr'a VQVLY 'aL-BNY 'aDM.     `Unto you, O men, I call, And my voice is unto the sons of men.     o viri ad vos clamito et vox mea ad filios hominum
 
5.    You simple, understand prudence. You fools, be of an understanding heart.     O ye simple, understand wisdom: and, ye fools, be ye of an understanding heart.     הבינו  פתאים  ערמה 
וכסילים  הבינו  לב׃
    HBYNV PhTh'aYM 'yUrMH VKSYLYM HBYNV LB.     Understand, ye simple ones, prudence, And ye fools, understand the heart,     intellegite parvuli astutiam et insipientes animadvertite
 
6.    Hear, for I will speak excellent things. The opening of my lips is for right things.     Hear; for I will speak of excellent things; and the opening of my lips shall be right things.     שמעו  כי־נגידים 
אדבר  ומפתח  שפתי
מישרים׃
    ShM'yV KY-NGYDYM 'aDBUr VMPhThCh ShPhThY MYShUrYM.     Hearken, for noble things I speak, And the opening of my lips is uprightness.     audite quoniam de rebus magnis locutura sum et aperientur labia mea ut recta praedicent
 
7.    For my mouth speaks truth. Wickedness is an abomination to my lips.     For my mouth shall speak truth; and wickedness is an abomination to my lips.     כי־אמת  יהגה  חכי 
ותועבת  שפתי  רשע׃
    KY-'aMTh YHGH ChKY VThV'yBTh ShPhThY UrSh'y.     For truth doth my mouth utter, And an abomination to my lips is wickedness.     veritatem meditabitur guttur meum et labia mea detestabuntur impium
 
8.    All the words of my mouth are in righteousness. There is nothing crooked or perverse in them.     All the words of my mouth are in righteousness; there is nothing froward or perverse in them.     בצדק  כל־אמרי־פי 
אין  בהם  נפתל
ועקש׃
    BTShDQ KL-'aMUrY-PhY 'aYN BHM NPhThL V'yQSh.     In righteousness are all the sayings of my mouth, Nothing in them is froward and perverse.     iusti sunt omnes sermones mei non est in eis pravum quid neque perversum
 
9.    They are all plain to him who understands, right to those who find knowledge.     They are all plain to him that understandeth, and right to them that find knowledge.     כלם  נכחים  למבין 
וישרים  למצאי  דעת׃
    KLM NKChYM LMBYN VYShUrYM LMTSh'aY D'yTh.     All of them are plain to the intelligent, And upright to those finding knowledge.     recti sunt intellegentibus et aequi invenientibus scientiam
 
10.    Receive my instruction rather than silver; knowledge rather than choice gold.     Receive my instruction, and not silver; and knowledge rather than choice gold.     קחו־מוסרי  ואל־כסף 
ודעת  מחרוץ  נבחר׃
    QChV-MVSUrY V'aL-KSPh VD'yTh MChUrVTSh NBChUr.     Receive my instruction, and not silver, And knowledge rather than choice gold.     accipite disciplinam meam et non pecuniam doctrinam magis quam aurum eligite
 
11.    For wisdom is better than rubies. All the things that may be desired can't be compared to it.     For wisdom is better than rubies; and all the things that may be desired are not to be compared to it.     כי־טובה  חכמה 
מפנינים  וכל־חפצים
לא  ישוו־בה׃
    KY-TVBH ChKMH MPhNYNYM VKL-ChPhTShYM L'a YShVV-BH.     For better is wisdom than rubies, Yea, all delights are not comparable with it.     melior est enim sapientia cunctis pretiosissimis et omne desiderabile ei non potest conparari
 
12.    "I, wisdom, have made prudence my dwelling. Find out knowledge and discretion.     I wisdom dwell with prudence, and find out knowledge of witty inventions.     אני־חכמה  שכנתי 
ערמה  ודעת  מזמות
אמצא׃
    'aNY-ChKMH ShKNThY 'yUrMH VD'yTh MZMVTh 'aMTSh'a.     I, wisdom, have dwelt with prudence, And a knowledge of devices I find out.     ego sapientia habito in consilio et eruditis intersum cogitationibus
 
13.    The fear of Yahweh is to hate evil. I hate pride, arrogance, the evil way, and the perverse mouth.     The fear of the LORD is to hate evil: pride, and arrogancy, and the evil way, and the froward mouth, do I hate.     יראת  יהוה  שנאת  רע 
גאה  וגאון  ודרך  רע
ופי  תהפכות  שנאתי׃
    YUr'aTh YHVH ShN'aTh Ur'y G'aH VG'aVN VDUrK Ur'y VPhY ThHPhKVTh ShN'aThY.     The fear of Jehovah is to hate evil; Pride, and arrogance, and an evil way, And a froward mouth, I have hated.     timor Domini odit malum arrogantiam et superbiam et viam pravam et os bilingue detestor
 
14.    Counsel and sound knowledge are mine. I have understanding and power.     Counsel is mine, and sound wisdom: I am understanding; I have strength.     לי־עצה  ותושיה  אני 
בינה  לי  גבורה׃
    LY-'yTShH VThVShYH 'aNY BYNH LY GBVUrH.     Mine is counsel and substance, I am understanding, I have might.     meum est consilium et aequitas mea prudentia mea est fortitudo
 
15.    By me kings reign, and princes decree justice.     By me kings reign, and princes decree justice.     בי  מלכים  ימלכו 
ורוזנים  יחקקו
צדק׃
    BY MLKYM YMLKV VUrVZNYM YChQQV TShDQ.     By me kings reign, and princes decree righteousness,     per me reges regnant et legum conditores iusta decernunt
 
16.    By me princes rule; nobles, and all the righteous rulers of the earth.     By me princes rule, and nobles, even all the judges of the earth.     בי  שרים  ישרו 
ונדיבים  כל־שפטי
צדק׃
    BY ShUrYM YShUrV VNDYBYM KL-ShPhTY TShDQ.     By me do chiefs rule, and nobles, All judges of the earth.     per me principes imperant et potentes decernunt iustitiam
 
17.    I love those who love me. Those who seek me diligently will find me.     I love them that love me; and those that seek me early shall find me.     אני  אהביה  אהב 
ומשחרי  ימצאנני׃
    'aNY 'aHBYH 'aHB VMShChUrY YMTSh'aNNY.     I love those loving me, And those seeking me earnestly do find me.     ego diligentes me diligo et qui mane vigilant ad me invenient me
 
18.    With me are riches, honor, enduring wealth, and prosperity.     Riches and honour are with me; yea, durable riches and righteousness.     עשר־וכבוד  אתי  הון 
עתק  וצדקה׃
    'yShUr-VKBVD 'aThY HVN 'yThQ VTShDQH.     Wealth and honour are with me, Lasting substance and righteousness.     mecum sunt divitiae et gloria opes superbae et iustitia
 
19.    My fruit is better than gold, yes, than fine gold; my yield than choice silver.     My fruit is better than gold, yea, than fine gold; and my revenue than choice silver.     טוב  פריי  מחרוץ 
ומפז  ותבואתי  מכסף
נבחר׃
    TVB PhUrYY MChUrVTSh VMPhZ VThBV'aThY MKSPh NBChUr.     Better is my fruit than gold, even fine gold, And mine increase than choice silver.     melior est fructus meus auro et pretioso lapide et genimina mea argento electo
 
20.    I walk in the way of righteousness, in the midst of the paths of justice;     I lead in the way of righteousness, in the midst of the paths of judgment:     בארח־צדקה  אהלך 
בתוך  נתיבות  משפט׃
    B'aUrCh-TShDQH 'aHLK BThVK NThYBVTh MShPhT.     In a path of righteousness I cause to walk, In midst of paths of judgment,     in viis iustitiae ambulo in medio semitarum iudicii
 
21.    That I may give wealth to those who love me. I fill their treasuries.     That I may cause those that love me to inherit substance; and I will fill their treasures.     להנחיל  אהבי  יש 
ואצרתיהם  אמלא׃
    LHNChYL 'aHBY YSh V'aTShUrThYHM 'aML'a.     To cause my lovers to inherit substance, Yea, their treasures I fill.     ut ditem diligentes me et thesauros eorum repleam
 
22.    "Yahweh possessed me in the beginning of his work, before his deeds of old.     The LORD possessed me in the beginning of his way, before his works of old.     יהוה  קנני  ראשית 
דרכו  קדם  מפעליו
מאז׃
    YHVH QNNY Ur'aShYTh DUrKV QDM MPh'yLYV M'aZ.     Jehovah possessed me -- the beginning of His way, Before His works since then.     Dominus possedit me initium viarum suarum antequam quicquam faceret a principio
 
23.    I was set up from everlasting, from the beginning, before the earth existed.     I was set up from everlasting, from the beginning, or ever the earth was.     מעולם  נסכתי  מראש 
מקדמי־ארץ׃
    M'yVLM NSKThY MUr'aSh MQDMY-'aUrTSh.     From the age I was anointed, from the first, From former states of the earth.     ab aeterno ordita sum et ex antiquis antequam terra fieret
 
24.    When there were no depths, I was brought forth, when there were no springs abounding with water.     When there were no depths, I was brought forth; when there were no fountains abounding with water.     באין־תהמות  חוללתי 
באין  מעינות
נכבדי־מים׃
    B'aYN-ThHMVTh ChVLLThY B'aYN M'yYNVTh NKBDY-MYM.     In there being no depths, I was brought forth, In there being no fountains heavy with waters,     necdum erant abyssi et ego iam concepta eram necdum fontes aquarum eruperant
 
25.    Before the mountains were settled in place, before the hills, I was brought forth;     Before the mountains were settled, before the hills was I brought forth:     בטרם  הרים  הטבעו 
לפני  גבעות
חוללתי׃
    BTUrM HUrYM HTB'yV LPhNY GB'yVTh ChVLLThY.     Before mountains were sunk, Before heights, I was brought forth.     necdum montes gravi mole constiterant ante colles ego parturiebar
 
26.    while as yet he had not made the earth, nor the fields, nor the beginning of the dust of the world.     While as yet he had not made the earth, nor the fields, nor the highest part of the dust of the world.     עד־לא  עשה  ארץ 
וחוצות  וראש  עפרות
תבל׃
    'yD-L'a 'yShH 'aUrTSh VChVTShVTh VUr'aSh 'yPhUrVTh ThBL.     While He had not made the earth, and out-places, And the top of the dusts of the world.     adhuc terram non fecerat et flumina et cardines orbis terrae
 
27.    When he established the heavens, I was there; when he set a circle on the surface of the deep,     When he prepared the heavens, I was there: when he set a compass upon the face of the depth:     בהכינו  שמים  שם 
אני  בחוקו  חוג
על־פני  תהום׃
    BHKYNV ShMYM ShM 'aNY BChVQV ChVG 'yL-PhNY ThHVM.     In His preparing the heavens I am there, In His decreeing a circle on the face of the deep,     quando praeparabat caelos aderam quando certa lege et gyro vallabat abyssos
 
28.    when he established the clouds above, when the springs of the deep became strong,     When he established the clouds above: when he strengthened the fountains of the deep:     באמצו  שחקים  ממעל 
בעזוז  עינות  תהום׃
    B'aMTShV ShChQYM MM'yL B'yZVZ 'yYNVTh ThHVM.     In His strengthening clouds above, In His making strong fountains of the deep,     quando aethera firmabat sursum et librabat fontes aquarum
 
29.    when he gave to the sea its boundary, that the waters should not violate his commandment, when he marked out the foundations of the earth;     When he gave to the sea his decree, that the waters should not pass his commandment: when he appointed the foundations of the earth:     בשומו  לים  חקו 
ומים  לא  יעברו־פיו
בחוקו  מוסדי  ארץ׃
    BShVMV LYM ChQV VMYM L'a Y'yBUrV-PhYV BChVQV MVSDY 'aUrTSh.     In His setting for the sea its limit, And the waters transgress not His command, In His decreeing the foundations of earth,     quando circumdabat mari terminum suum et legem ponebat aquis ne transirent fines suos quando adpendebat fundamenta terrae
 
30.    then I was the craftsman by his side. I was a delight day by day, always rejoicing before him,     Then I was by him, as one brought up with him: and I was daily his delight, rejoicing always before him;     ואהיה  אצלו  אמון 
ואהיה  שעשעים  יום
יום  משחקת  לפניו
בכל־עת׃
    V'aHYH 'aTShLV 'aMVN V'aHYH Sh'ySh'yYM YVM YVM MShChQTh LPhNYV BKL-'yTh.     Then I am near Him, a workman, And I am a delight -- day by day. Rejoicing before Him at all times,     cum eo eram cuncta conponens et delectabar per singulos dies ludens coram eo omni tempore
 
31.    Rejoicing in his whole world. My delight was with the sons of men.     Rejoicing in the habitable part of his earth; and my delights were with the sons of men.     משחקת  בתבל  ארצו 
ושעשעי  את־בני
אדם׃
    MShChQTh BThBL 'aUrTShV VSh'ySh'yY 'aTh-BNY 'aDM.     Rejoicing in the habitable part of His earth, And my delights are with the sons of men.     ludens in orbe terrarum et deliciae meae esse cum filiis hominum
 
32.    "Now therefore, my sons, listen to me, for blessed are those who keep my ways.     Now therefore hearken unto me, O ye children: for blessed are they that keep my ways.     ועתה  בנים  שמעו־לי 
ואשרי  דרכי  ישמרו׃
    V'yThH BNYM ShM'yV-LY V'aShUrY DUrKY YShMUrV.     And now, ye sons, hearken to me, Yea, happy are they who keep my ways.     nunc ergo filii audite me beati qui custodiunt vias meas
 
33.    Hear instruction, and be wise. Don't refuse it.     Hear instruction, and be wise, and refuse it not.     שמעו  מוסר  וחכמו 
ואל־תפרעו׃
    ShM'yV MVSUr VChKMV V'aL-ThPhUr'yV.     Hear instruction, and be wise, and slight not.     audite disciplinam et estote sapientes et nolite abicere eam
 
34.    Blessed is the man who hears me, watching daily at my gates, waiting at my door posts.     Blessed is the man that heareth me, watching daily at my gates, waiting at the posts of my doors.     אשרי  אדם  שמע  לי 
לשקד  על־דלתתי  יום
יום  לשמר  מזוזת
פתחי׃
    'aShUrY 'aDM ShM'y LY LShQD 'yL-DLThThY YVM YVM LShMUr MZVZTh PhThChY.     O the happiness of the man hearkening to me, To watch at my doors day by day, To watch at the door-posts of my entrance.     beatus homo qui audit me qui vigilat ad fores meas cotidie et observat ad postes ostii mei
 
35.    For whoever finds me, finds life, and will obtain favor from Yahweh.     For whoso findeth me findeth life, and shall obtain favour of the LORD.     כי  מצאי  מצאי  חיים 
ויפק  רצון  מיהוה׃
    KY MTSh'aY MTSh'aY ChYYM VYPhQ UrTShVN MYHVH.     For whoso is finding me, hath found life, And bringeth out good-will from Jehovah.     qui me invenerit inveniet vitam et hauriet salutem a Domino
 
36.    But he who sins against me wrongs his own soul. All those who hate me love death."     But he that sinneth against me wrongeth his own soul: all they that hate me love death.     וחטאי  חמס  נפשו 
כל־משנאי  אהבו
מות׃
    VChT'aY ChMS NPhShV KL-MShN'aY 'aHBV MVTh.     And whoso is missing me, is wronging his soul, All hating me have loved death!     qui autem in me peccaverit laedet animam suam omnes qui me oderunt diligunt mortem
