1.    Who has believed our message? To whom has the arm of Yahweh been revealed?     Who hath believed our report? and to whom is the arm of the LORD revealed?     מי  האמין  לשמעתנו 
וזרוע  יהוה  על־מי
נגלתה׃
    MY H'aMYN LShM'yThNV VZUrV'y YHVH 'yL-MY NGLThH.     Who hath given credence to that which we heard? And the arm of Jehovah, On whom hath it been revealed?     quis credidit auditui nostro et brachium Domini cui revelatum est
 
2.    For he grew up before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of dry ground. He has no form nor comeliness. When we see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him.     For he shall grow up before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground: he hath no form nor comeliness; and when we shall see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him.     ויעל  כיונק  לפניו 
וכשרש  מארץ  ציה
לא־תאר  לו  ולא  הדר
ונראהו  ולא־  מראה
ונחמדהו׃
    VY'yL KYVNQ LPhNYV VKShUrSh M'aUrTSh TShYH L'a-Th'aUr LV VL'a HDUr VNUr'aHV VL'a- MUr'aH VNChMDHV.     Yea, he cometh up as a tender plant before Him, And as a root out of a dry land, He hath no form, nor honour, when we observe him, Nor appearance, when we desire him.     et ascendet sicut virgultum coram eo et sicut radix de terra sitienti non est species ei neque decor et vidimus eum et non erat aspectus et desideravimus eum
 
3.    He was despised, and rejected by men; a man of suffering, and acquainted with disease. He was despised as one from whom men hide their face; and we didn't respect him.     He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not.     נבזה  וחדל  אישים 
איש  מכאבות  וידוע
חלי  וכמסתר  פנים
ממנו  נבזה  ולא
חשבנהו׃
    NBZH VChDL 'aYShYM 'aYSh MK'aBVTh VYDV'y ChLY VKMSThUr PhNYM MMNV NBZH VL'a ChShBNHV.     He is despised, and left of men, A man of pains, and acquainted with sickness, And as one hiding the face from us, He is despised, and we esteemed him not.     despectum et novissimum virorum virum dolorum et scientem infirmitatem et quasi absconditus vultus eius et despectus unde nec reputavimus eum
 
4.    Surely he has borne our sickness, and carried our suffering; yet we considered him plagued, struck by God, and afflicted.     Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.     אכן  חלינו  הוא  נשא 
ומכאבינו  סבלם
ואנחנו  חשבנהו
נגוע  מכה  אלהים
ומענה׃
    'aKN ChLYNV HV'a NSh'a VMK'aBYNV SBLM V'aNChNV ChShBNHV NGV'y MKH 'aLHYM VM'yNH.     Surely our sicknesses he hath borne, And our pains -- he hath carried them, And we -- we have esteemed him plagued, Smitten of God, and afflicted.     vere languores nostros ipse tulit et dolores nostros ipse portavit et nos putavimus eum quasi leprosum et percussum a Deo et humiliatum
 
5.    But he was pierced for our transgressions. He was crushed for our iniquities. The punishment that brought our peace was on him; and by his wounds we are healed.     But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.     והוא  מחלל  מפשענו 
מדכא  מעונתינו
מוסר  שלומנו  עליו
ובחברתו  נרפא־
לנו׃
    VHV'a MChLL MPhSh'yNV MDK'a M'yVNThYNV MVSUr ShLVMNV 'yLYV VBChBUrThV NUrPh'a- LNV.     And he is pierced for our transgressions, Bruised for our iniquities, The chastisement of our peace is on him, And by his bruise there is healing to us.     ipse autem vulneratus est propter iniquitates nostras adtritus est propter scelera nostra disciplina pacis nostrae super eum et livore eius sanati sumus
 
6.    All we like sheep have gone astray. Everyone has turned to his own way; and Yahweh has laid on him the iniquity of us all.     All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.     כלנו  כצאן  תעינו 
איש  לדרכו  פנינו
ויהוה  הפגיע  בו  את
עון  כלנו׃
    KLNV KTSh'aN Th'yYNV 'aYSh LDUrKV PhNYNV VYHVH HPhGY'y BV 'aTh 'yVN KLNV.     All of us like sheep have wandered, Each to his own way we have turned, And Jehovah hath caused to meet on him, The punishment of us all.     omnes nos quasi oves erravimus unusquisque in viam suam declinavit et Dominus posuit in eo iniquitatem omnium nostrum
 
7.    He was oppressed, yet when he was afflicted he didn't open his mouth. As a lamb that is led to the slaughter, and as a sheep that before its shearers is mute, so he didn't open his mouth.     He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth.     נגש  והוא  נענה  ולא 
יפתח־פיו  כשה  לטבח
יובל  וכרחל  לפני
גזזיה  נאלמה  ולא
יפתח  פיו׃
    NGSh VHV'a N'yNH VL'a YPhThCh-PhYV KShH LTBCh YVBL VKUrChL LPhNY GZZYH N'aLMH VL'a YPhThCh PhYV.     It hath been exacted, and he hath answered, And he openeth not his mouth, As a lamb to the slaughter he is brought, And as a sheep before its shearers is dumb, And he openeth not his mouth.     oblatus est quia ipse voluit et non aperuit os suum sicut ovis ad occisionem ducetur et quasi agnus coram tondente obmutescet et non aperiet os suum
 
8.    He was taken away by oppression and judgment; and as for his generation, who considered that he was cut off out of the land of the living and stricken for the disobedience of my people?     He was taken from prison and from judgment: and who shall declare his generation? for he was cut off out of the land of the living: for the transgression of my people was he stricken.     מעצר  וממשפט  לקח 
ואת־דורו  מי  ישוחח
כי  נגזר  מארץ  חיים
מפשע  עמי  נגע  למו׃
    M'yTShUr VMMShPhT LQCh V'aTh-DVUrV MY YShVChCh KY NGZUr M'aUrTSh ChYYM MPhSh'y 'yMY NG'y LMV.     By restraint and by judgment he hath been taken, And of his generation who doth meditate, That he hath been cut off from the land of the living? By the transgression of My people he is plagued,     de angustia et de iudicio sublatus est generationem eius quis enarrabit quia abscisus est de terra viventium propter scelus populi mei percussit eum
 
9.    They made his grave with the wicked, and with a rich man in his death; although he had done no violence, neither was any deceit in his mouth.     And he made his grave with the wicked, and with the rich in his death; because he had done no violence, neither was any deceit in his mouth.     ויתן  את־רשעים

    VYThN 'aTh-UrSh'yYM QBUrV V'aTh-'yShYUr BMThYV 'yL L'a-ChMS 'yShH VL'a MUrMH BPhYV.     And it appointeth with the wicked his grave, And with the rich are his high places, Because he hath done no violence, Nor is deceit in his mouth.     et dabit impios pro sepultura et divitem pro morte sua eo quod iniquitatem non fecerit neque dolus fuerit in ore eius
 
10.    Yet it pleased Yahweh to bruise him. He has caused him to suffer. When you make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see his seed. He shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of Yahweh shall prosper in his hand.     Yet it pleased the LORD to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of the LORD shall prosper in his hand.     ויהוה  חפץ  דכאו 
החלי  אם־תשים  אשם
נפשו  יראה  זרע
יאריך  ימים  וחפץ
יהוה  בידו  יצלח׃
    VYHVH ChPhTSh DK'aV HChLY 'aM-ThShYM 'aShM NPhShV YUr'aH ZUr'y Y'aUrYK YMYM VChPhTSh YHVH BYDV YTShLCh.     And Jehovah hath delighted to bruise him, He hath made him sick, If his soul doth make an offering for guilt, He seeth seed -- he prolongeth days, And the pleasure of Jehovah in his hand doth prosper.     et Dominus voluit conterere eum in infirmitate si posuerit pro peccato animam suam videbit semen longevum et voluntas Domini in manu eius dirigetur
 
11.    After the suffering of his soul, he will see the light{So read the Dead Sea Scrolls and Septuagint. Masoretic Text omits "the light".} and be satisfied. My righteous servant will justify many by the knowledge of himself; and he will bear their iniquities.     He shall see of the travail of his soul, and shall be satisfied: by his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many; for he shall bear their iniquities.     מעמל  נפשו  יראה 
ישבע  בדעתו  יצדיק
צדיק  עבדי  לרבים
ועונתם  הוא  יסבל׃
    M'yML NPhShV YUr'aH YShB'y BD'yThV YTShDYQ TShDYQ 'yBDY LUrBYM V'yVNThM HV'a YSBL.     Of the labour of his soul he seeth -- he is satisfied, Through his knowledge give righteousness Doth the righteous one, My servant, to many, And their iniquities he doth bear.     pro eo quod laboravit anima eius videbit et saturabitur in scientia sua iustificabit ipse iustus servus meus multos et iniquitates eorum ipse portabit
 
12.    Therefore will I divide him a portion with the great, and he shall divide the spoil with the strong; because he poured out his soul to death, and was numbered with the transgressors; yet he bore the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors.     Therefore will I divide him a portion with the great, and he shall divide the spoil with the strong; because he hath poured out his soul unto death: and he was numbered with the transgressors; and he bare the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors.     לכן  אחלק־לו  ברבים

    LKN 'aChLQ-LV BUrBYM V'aTh-'yTShVMYM YChLQ ShLL ThChTh 'aShUr H'yUrH LMVTh NPhShV V'aTh-PhSh'yYM NMNH VHV'a ChT'a-UrBYM NSh'a VLPhSh'yYM YPhGY'y.     Therefore I give a portion to him among the many, And with the mighty he apportioneth spoil, Because that he exposed to death his soul, And with transgressors he was numbered, And he the sin of many hath borne, And for transgressors he intercedeth.     ideo dispertiam ei plurimos et fortium dividet spolia pro eo quod tradidit in morte animam suam et cum sceleratis reputatus est et ipse peccatum multorum tulit et pro transgressoribus rogavit
