| 2. | Say, Hear the word of Yahweh, king of Judah, who sits on the throne of David, you, and your servants, and your people who enter in by these gates. | And say, Hear the word of the LORD, O king of Judah, that sittest upon the throne of David, thou, and thy servants, and thy people that enter in by these gates: |
ואמרת שמע דבר־יהוה מלך יהודה הישב על־כסא דוד אתה ועבדיך ועמך הבאים בשערים האלה׃ |
V'aMUrTh ShM'y DBUr-YHVH MLK YHVDH HYShB 'yL-KS'a DVD 'aThH V'yBDYK V'yMK HB'aYM BSh'yUrYM H'aLH. | Hear a word of Jehovah, O king of Judah, who art sitting on the throne of David, thou, and thy servants, and thy people, who are coming in at these gates, | et dices audi verbum Domini rex Iuda qui sedes super solium David tu et servi tui et populus tuus qui ingredimini per portas istas | |||||
| 3. | Thus says Yahweh: Execute justice and righteousness, and deliver him who is robbed out of the hand of the oppressor: and do no wrong, do no violence, to the foreigner, the fatherless, nor the widow; neither shed innocent blood in this place. | Thus saith the LORD; Execute ye judgment and righteousness, and deliver the spoiled out of the hand of the oppressor: and do no wrong, do no violence to the stranger, the fatherless, nor the widow, neither shed innocent blood in this place. |

V'aM L'a ThShM'yV 'aTh-HDBUrYM H'aLH BY NShB'yThY N'aM-YHVH KY-LChUrBH YHYH HBYTh HZH. | And if ye do not hear these words, By myself I have sworn -- an affirmation of Jehovah, That this house is for a desolation. | quod si non audieritis verba haec in memet ipso iuravi dicit Dominus quia in solitudinem erit domus haec | |||||
| 6. | For thus says Yahweh concerning the house of the king of Judah: You are Gilead to me, [and] the head of Lebanon; [yet] surely I will make you a wilderness, [and] cities which are not inhabited. | For thus saith the LORD unto the king's house of Judah; Thou art Gilead unto me, and the head of Lebanon: yet surely I will make thee a wilderness, and cities which are not inhabited. |

| 7. | I will prepare destroyers against you, everyone with his weapons; and they shall cut down your choice cedars, and cast them into the fire. | And I will prepare destroyers against thee, every one with his weapons: and they shall cut down thy choice cedars, and cast them into the fire. |
וקדשתי עליך משחתים איש וכליו וכרתו מבחר ארזיך והפילו על־האש׃ |
VQDShThY 'yLYK MShChThYM 'aYSh VKLYV VKUrThV MBChUr 'aUrZYK VHPhYLV 'yL-H'aSh. | And I have separated for thee destroyers, Each with his weapons, And they have cut down the choice of thy cedars, And have cast them on the fire. | et sanctificabo super te interficientem virum et arma eius et succident electam cedrum tuam et praecipitabunt in ignem | |||||
| 8. | Many nations shall pass by this city, and they shall say every man to his neighbor, Why has Yahweh done thus to this great city? | And many nations shall pass by this city, and they shall say every man to his neighbour, Wherefore hath the LORD done thus unto this great city? |

V'yBUrV GVYM UrBYM 'yL H'yYUr HZ'aTh V'aMUrV 'aYSh 'aL-Ur'yHV 'yL-MH 'yShH YHVH KKH L'yYUr HGDVLH HZ'aTh. | And many nations have passed by this city, And they have said, each to his neighbour, For what hath Jehovah done thus to this great city? | et pertransibunt gentes multae per civitatem hanc et dicet unusquisque proximo suo quare fecit Dominus sic civitati huic grandi | |||||

KY KH 'aMUr-YHVH 'aL-ShLM BN-Y'aShYHV MLK YHVDH HMLK ThChTh Y'aShYHV 'aBYV 'aShUr YTSh'a MN-HMQVM HZH L'a-YShVB ShM 'yVD. | For thus said Jehovah concerning Shallum son of Josiah king of Judah, who is reigning instead of Josiah his father, who hath gone forth from this place: He doth not turn back hither again; | quia haec dicit Dominus ad Sellum filium Iosiae regem Iuda qui regnavit pro Iosia patre suo qui egressus est de loco isto non revertetur huc amplius | |||||

הוי בנה ביתו בלא־צדק ועליותיו בלא משפט ברעהו יעבד חנם ופעלו לא יתן־לו׃ |
HVY BNH BYThV BL'a-TShDQ V'yLYVThYV BL'a MShPhT BUr'yHV Y'yBD ChNM VPh'yLV L'a YThN-LV. | Wo to him who is building his house by unrighteousness, And his upper chambers by injustice, On his neighbour he layeth service for nought, And his wage he doth not give to him. | vae qui aedificat domum suam in iniustitia et cenacula sua non in iudicio amicum suum opprimet frustra et mercedem eius non reddet ei | |||||

| 15. | Shall you reign, because you strive to excel in cedar? Didn't your father eat and drink, and do justice and righteousness? then it was well with him. | Shalt thou reign, because thou closest thyself in cedar? did not thy father eat and drink, and do judgment and justice, and then it was well with him? |

HThMLK KY 'aThH MThChUrH B'aUrZ 'aBYK HLV'a 'aKL VShThH V'yShH MShPhT VTShDQH 'aZ TVB LV. | Dost thou reign, because thou art fretting thyself in cedar? Thy father -- did he not eat and drink?
