ותשא אתי רוח ותבא אתי אל־שער בית־יהוה הקדמוני הפונה קדימה והנה בפתח השער עשרים וחמשה איש ואראה בתוכם את־יאזניה בן־עזר ואת־ פלטיהו בן־בניהו שרי העם׃ |

| 2. | He said to me, Son of man, these are the men who devise iniquity, and who give wicked counsel in this city; | Then said he unto me, Son of man, these are the men that devise mischief, and give wicked counsel in this city: |
ויאמר אלי בן־אדם אלה האנשים החשבים און והיעצים עצת־רע בעיר הזאת׃ |
VY'aMUr 'aLY BN-'aDM 'aLH H'aNShYM HChShBYM 'aVN VHY'yTShYM 'yTShTh-Ur'y B'yYUr HZ'aTh. | And He saith unto me, `Son of man, these are the men who are devising iniquity, and who are giving evil counsel in this city; | dixitque ad me fili hominis hii viri qui cogitant iniquitatem et tractant consilium pessimum in urbe ista | |||||
| 3. | who say, [The time] is not near to build houses: this [city] is the caldron, and we are the flesh. | Which say, It is not near; let us build houses: this city is the caldron, and we be the flesh. |
האמרים לא בקרוב בנות בתים היא הסיר ואנחנו הבשר׃ |

| 5. | The Spirit of Yahweh fell on me, and he said to me, Speak, Thus says Yahweh: Thus you have said, house of Israel; for I know the things that come into your mind. | And the Spirit of the LORD fell upon me, and said unto me, Speak; Thus saith the LORD; Thus have ye said, O house of Israel: for I know the things that come into your mind, every one of them. |

| 7. | Therefore thus says the Lord Yahweh: Your slain whom you have laid in its midst, they are the flesh, and this [city] is the caldron; but you shall be brought forth out of its midst. | Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Your slain whom ye have laid in the midst of it, they are the flesh, and this city is the caldron: but I will bring you forth out of the midst of it. |

| 13. | It happened, when I prophesied, that Pelatiah the son of Benaiah died. Then fell I down on my face, and cried with a loud voice, and said, Ah Lord Yahweh! will you make a full end of the remnant of Israel? | And it came to pass, when I prophesied, that Pelatiah the son of Benaiah died. Then fell I down upon my face, and cried with a loud voice, and said, Ah Lord GOD! wilt thou make a full end of the remnant of Israel? |
ויהי כהנבאי ופלטיהו בן־בניה מת ואפל על־פני ואזעק קול־גדול ואמר אהה אדני יהוה כלה אתה עשה את שארית ישראל׃ |
VYHY KHNB'aY VPhLTYHV BN-BNYH MTh V'aPhL 'yL-PhNY V'aZ'yQ QVL-GDVL V'aMUr 'aHH 'aDNY YHVH KLH 'aThH 'yShH 'aTh Sh'aUrYTh YShUr'aL. | And it cometh to pass, at my prophesying, that Pelatiah son of Benaiah is dying, and I fall on my face, and cry -- a loud voice -- and say, `Ah, Lord Jehovah, an end Thou art making of the remnant of Israel.` | et factum est cum prophetarem Pheltias filius Banaiae mortuus est et cecidi in faciem meam clamans voce magna et dixi heu heu heu Domine Deus consummationem tu facis reliquiarum Israhel | |||||

| 15. | Son of man, your brothers, even your brothers, the men of your relatives, and all the house of Israel, all of them, [are they] to whom the inhabitants of Jerusalem have said, Go far away from Yahweh. This land has been given to us for a possession. | Son of man, thy brethren, even thy brethren, the men of thy kindred, and all the house of Israel wholly, are they unto whom the inhabitants of Jerusalem have said, Get you far from the LORD: unto us is this land given in possession. |
בן־אדם אחיך אחיך אנשי גאלתך וכל־בית ישראל כלה אשר אמרו להם ישבי ירושלם רחקו מעל יהוה לנו היא נתנה הארץ למורשה׃ |

| 16. | Therefore say, Thus says the Lord Yahweh: Whereas I have removed them far off among the nations, and whereas I have scattered them among the countries, yet will I be to them a sanctuary for a little while in the countries where they are come. | Therefore say, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Although I have cast them far off among the heathen, and although I have scattered them among the countries, yet will I be to them as a little sanctuary in the countries where they shall come. |
